you have clear never watched a horror film. make a statement such as the above is almost as likely as teens having sex to resurrect the moldering corpse o' a fell and tormented creature impossible lingering on the borders 'tween our world and hell. if oby and skarpen_one sudden once again contribute to these boards, we will be blaming you... or perhaps a pair o' sex starved interns doing qa at 2am at obsidian. When paralyzed or stunned, it is intuitive to think you are able to do nothing, you are just an easy target at the mercy of ennemies. But it is not totally true. In reality, you can manually switch weapons and shields, that mean with the Outworn Buckler equipped in one of the weapons slot, when the game is paused, you can turn off the hostile effect. You can also heal yourself with Lethandria's Devotion or Engoliero do Espirs, but manually. You are also able to proc Riposte or others automatics effects. That is efficient for exemple with an SC barbarian with his on-crit-riposte, under the protection of Beetle Shell. This trick doesnt work when terrified or charmed/dominated since you loose the control of the character.3 points

He was specific about me being in it, so I guess that he wouldn't have to worry about waiting for me to leave. Jokes on him though because I don't own a house. Nope, it was SJW-NAZI. He was insistent on that. Oh and BLM/ANTIFA later on. Vol really liked to combine stuff like that, probably because he, like everyone who has ever existed, is a SJW NAZI. roofles!3 points

That means it's working. I once had a page in this politics thread (although not this particular politics thread) where the entire page was missing because it had evidently just been spammed to death by those that I have on ignore. Felt pretty amazing to just go to the next page without reading a single one. Most of the people that were destroying these threads in the past are not here as of now...most of them.3 points

It's not the ultimate combo because the dot doesn't generate wounds fast enough and also because you damage yourself. The ultimate combo uses the synergy between Keeper of the Flame, Saint's War armor and Imagined Pain (with whatever weapon in the main hand). Personally I think Magran's Favor with Bleeding Cuts is still the best option overall even if the mortars look flashier. Mortars have low dmg and acc, can't trigger Swift Flurry and are under performing if the enemies are not close. In other words I don't consider them OP compared to the melee version, thus no need for nerfs.2 points

We probably don't need another Mortar Monk Video but just in case anyone is wondering what this is about: I just recorded the build above vs the Ikorno bounty on PotD Upscaled with full BPM & CP. Not a crazy fight by any means, but he has some Fighters with good defenses and AR that can pop Unbending, with lots of hard CC resistance. Should be a match for a SC martial. Well, kind-of . I'm also using the double Alt key-hitting trick.2 points

Ah, another great use of the shield switching trick! I think every solo build from now on should have at least 3 weapon slots, with the Outworn Buckler in one and Lethandria's Devotion in the other.2 points

30% Graze-to-Hit CA, shifts the attack resolution from 31/51/101+ to 31/45/101+; and is very roughly comparable to 14% damage increase with proficient weapons 50% Graze-to-Hit CA, shifts the attack resolution from 31/51/101+ to 31/41/101+; and is very roughly comparable to 18% damage increase with proficient weapons ^ that is vs enemies who have have defense equal to your attack. And it becomes slowly weaker as your attack starts to be higher. If you already have Aware inspiration, it would become: 30% Graze-to-Hit CA, shifts the attack resolution from 31/41/101+ to 31/38/101+; and is very roughly comparable to 0.7% damage increase with proficient weapons 50% Graze-to-Hit CA, shifts the attack resolution from 31/41/101+ to 31/36/101+; and is very roughly comparable to 2.3% damage increase with proficient weapons Hmm. Did I make a mistake here? Edit: seems that yes, the percents are off. See the posts below for re-calculations, and the up-to-date attack resolution. I would advocate against any miss-to-graze bonuses. It is very tempting but also opens the path to brute-force any high-defense enemy.2 points

genuine crazy is not something we lose much sleep over, 'cause is kinda impossible to predict what you might say or do to set off the person who takes advice from the 6' lobster living in their garage. angry and stoopid people is more plentiful than crazy. is all too many folks who bring guns with them to situations they know is gonna be volatile. irl we were threatened with murder many times and usual we didn't take serious. were never receiving death threats from a current or past client, but we did get threats from people offended by our choice o' clients. how many such people woulda' been angry enough to bring a gun with them when confronting us, y'know, just to protect themselves? dunno. too many if even one. regardless, not crazy, but predictable stoopid and angry. post university we lived in cities as were more convenient for us... right up until one day our sister, who had health problems and were living with us at the time, were confronted by one o' those angry people threatening Gromnir with murder. the thing is, once our sister were gone, we went back to same blasé attitude 'bout personal safety. if we ever need sell our house am gonna need hire a locksmith 'cause we have no idea where is the keys for our front door. haven't locked the front door for years save when going outta town. 'course our pov would change drastic if we had a family to protect. have embarrassed a few folks here and on other boards. have had to deal with their bruised egos-- typical for a week or two after some particular emasculating conflict we see such folks impotent rage post in our general direction. tedious. angry and stoopid. am s'posing we could face real life consequences from those needing convince themselves o' their manhood, or whatever. is reasonable and responsible to assume there is many people who is angry and stoopid enough to do violence. incontrovertible. gonna make more use o' ignore 'cause chances are the next time we see somebody post something monumental asinine, am gonna comment. yeah, chances are we face some kinda sisyphean trial as we attempt to explain something which should be self evident, and no doubt we will need endure the comically retributive squeaks o' rage from those who feel wronged, but am petty enough to not be overconcerned, even if am agreeing with the general sentiment that is we should be more wary o' stoopid and angry. as such, where is possible, ignore is probable our best option. HA! Good Fun!2 points

For me, there are only 2 ways of making Entropy useful : - Inner Death enabler - the way you (brilliantly) discovered that relies on avoiding the spell charge filter while still getting its bonus. The later is close from the cheese category, which is excluded from the criteria of this particular analysis. And the easiest semi-cheesy way of using Druid is still Brilliant + Maelstorm spam IMHO. People are getting a little too triggered by the fact that their favorite class isn't on top : for me, all classes are more or less equally powerful if the right niche is choosen (bar maybe 3 SC, and druid is clearly not one of them). The question is more how easy to find the right niche and than how powerful it is. Side note : I abolutely love the concept of Entropy, that's why I put a lot of effort into making it a well-rounded spell in my BPM mode.2 points

I finished Assassin's Fate by Robin Hobb yesterday. 16 books in the Realm of the Elderlings series, 9 of them with Fitz and the Fool, and now it's over. I've been reading this series since I was teenager. Maybe that's the reason why couldn't really do anything yesterday after finishing it. I tried to play a game, tried to watch a movie, but only thing I could do was to lie in bed and listen to some music. What a ride it had been.2 points

That is, at least, the best season of Discovery. Anyway, I've finally finished Witcher S2. It was... good. Far more along the expected lines of an adaptation than WoT, albeit I'd read Blood of Elves ages ago and can't really remember much (see below), and played the games. And absolutely night and day in terms of apparent quality, scripting, CGI, sets, choreography, consistency and indeed pretty much everything else. End of the day, while I'm not familiar enough with the source material to say that it's a good adaptation it's good or better on the more objective fronts, as well as the subjective one of actually being entertaining- and it hasn't introduced any glaring internal inconsistencies that look like they'll come back to bite them either.2 points

They had a fight about whether to use the British or French spelling. One of the few times the French won vs the British. Yet somehow it's positively beautiful compared to the MiG-31. Post 70s Interceptors are just plain ugly. (OTOH, if I ever win a ludicrous amount on lotto I would pay pretty much anything for the Su-47 prototype. And if [museumname/ VKS/ whoever] doesn't want to give it up Sukhoi can build me another one)2 points

Hi, since Swift Flurry always procs attack rolls that are done with the main hand even if the offhand triggered it (see Sun & Moon in offhand and Battle Axe with Bleeding Cuts in main hand: lots of Bleeding Cuts from Swift Flurry without the recovery malus) I thought I'd give it a shot* and try if that also works with a ranged weapon in the main hand (and a melee weapon in the offhand obviously). And it does! Forget the times when you thought you couldn't use Fire in the Hole with Swift Flurry - you can! It even seems that Swift Flurry/Heartbeat Drumming procs from the ranged weapon can proc additional procs. It's pretty crazy, I can tell you. Other good ranged weapons for this: Current's Rush (High Tide is powerful once it procs) Hand Mortar (with Blinding Smoke + Avenging Storm: ridiculous) Blunderbusses (every pellet seems to be able to trigger another shot) Tried it with SC Monk with Whispers of the Wind (awesome) and also with Monk/Ranger using Driving Flight (higher chance to get proc-chains with Stunning Surge: also great. Especially nice is that you can combine it with Hunter's Claw which also works ranged weapons in the main hand- Using a blunderbuss or mortar lets you get those stacks pretty quickly. Enjoy! *1 point

I think WotW would be slightly less OP if all your attacks didn't gain extra penetration and accuracy as if it was a spell. Riposte, Mob Stance and Retaliation all do something similar but they are much more passive in nature and you can't force them to trigger. Or remove the invisibility so that you can't use it with the cape that lets you stun on hit. I wonder if it would also mean that you could get hit while you use WotW.1 point

Very funny! I agree, monks do have an amazing late game evolution that few other classes can match. Yes, instant, multiple reloading of ranged weapons while invisible is a 40 year old Gorgonzola drenched in Grappa!1 point

Also the +INT from Turning Wheel increases the Mortar AoE thus increases overall damage output, and you can group at least the melee enemies together by starting the fight from stealth and having the enemy engage your Duplicates as I did in the video. And you can use Acina's Tricorn and the Ring of the Marksman and also the Harley pet. Anyway I get the message, no one is remotely in favor of nerfing WotW + Ranged. Fair enough .1 point

They work with Lighting Strikes though. Hand Mortar's Blinding Smoke generates Resonant Touch instances (lots of them) against multiple enemies. If you use a flail + modal and Hand Mortar then the lower ACC doesn't matter much because the -25 Reflex debuff helps the AoE hit rolls which target reflex (and proc Blinding Smoke cones which also target Reflex). There are already two mortar nerfs in the Community Patch: one removes Avenging Storm from Blinding Smoke and the other one limits the maximum stack of Resonant Touches (which you would easily breach with just one WotW if more than 2 enemies are present and rel. near each other). Because that was OP - at least in the vast majority of the ecounters. I also don't call for further nerfs though. It's PL 9 so the majority of the game lies behind that charcter already - and it's a lot of fun imo. Keeper of the Flame + Saint's War Armor + Imagined Pain is indeed very good.1 point

I would agree with Kaylon, I don't think there is a specific issue with Mortars. Besides, I can onl make WotW requires a melee weapons, cause it is implemented as Whirling Strikes. As seen below, Melee + Ranged is about as good. Reload is implemented as a Recovery. It might be unrealistic, but I don't want to change that.1 point

Hi folks, I know this is an old post but I'm testing a solo Hand Mortar + Sun & Moon SC Helwalker right now. @Boeroer I just wanted to point out that the synergy in your awesome finding is even stronger because: Hand Mortar targets Reflex and the flail modal debuffs reflex by -25 (total crit fest) With Hylea's Talons equipped, the S&M strikes supplies you with wounds on top (which wouldn't work with a dual mortar monk) So it seems that this setup is really the ultimate neverstopping Mortar Monk. To the point that I genuinely fear trying Avenging Storm - which is not needed anyway because Resonant Touch insanity - and have my GPU literally implode. And as you pointed out in another thread, with the Belt of Magran's Chosen it goes even better... why on Eora is SC Monk so broken! @Elric Galad just curious: have you considered the BPM nerf bat on WotW and ranged weapons?1 point

am actual feeling some sympathy for vol. from our pov, vol went to a darker place during his last few years o' posting, but that is unlikely. chances are the vol in 2000 were only slight different than the 2018 edition. is our perception o' vol which changed based on his less guarded sharing o' how he felt 'bout particular issues. no doubt from vol pov, the treatment he were receiving in 2018 were unfair 'cause is not as if he had changed. oh well, we never had vol on ignore but we also never bothered to read his posts near the end save when such was quoted or when he responded direct to our posts. the thing is, am suspecting vol woulda' been indifferent if we had added him to our ignore list. as low as vol had sunk in our estimation, he didn't require an ego stroke from Gromnir and were unlikely to be offended by the use o' ignore, which we s'pose made him more admirable than a few current posters. ... even so, and am a tiny bit troubled by the admission, we don't much miss 2018 vol. that said, it probable isn't fair to take shots at vol now that he is gone and regardless is complete off-topic. done. Fair point, to elaborate a bit then: Entropy: that's why I wrote "strong but niche" . Entropy is strong against a tough single enemy if you kind-of cheese it in the amazing way you found out or if you have e.g. a SC Monk or a specific very powerful ability you want to crit as Elric wrote. Strong, but limited/niche use. Firestag is strong if you cheese-BDD it in non-BPM I guess. It's really not on par with any Tier8 spell of other classes otherwise IMO. Avenging Storm is for a SC Druid weapon user - e.g. niche optimiziation for Mortar Druid. OK but... bof. Regenerate... well I think we all agree. Then let's compare with what other casters get as tier8 spells.....1 point
-
Druid Tier 8 = 2 strong but niche spells, and 2 very meh spells. I almost wish that Embrace of the Earth Talon was Tier 8. You would get it much later but it wouldn't compete with Relentless Storm at Tier 5 and it would actually make you use Tier 8 casts!1 point
