  2. yep. druid already has arguably the strongest petrify effect, and then you get an absolutely stupid amount of accuracy that even against megabosses you'll have a near-100% success rate. you generally need to pair with a cipher or wizard to debuff enemy resolve though I mean, it's definitely that, but the itinerant build also took advantage of predator's sense + berath dots (rot skulls and touch of rot and shining beacon) and also an underappreciated synergy between stalker's link and champion's boon (+3 engagement = lots of +10 accuracy bonuses from your pet; also works with cipher)

  3. For example Blood Ward of SC Furyshaper (it works with all kinds of damage, even DoT-ticks) can turn otherwise squishy damage dealers into sturdy ones. Add some Old Siec phrase from a fellow Chanter (less potent but still works with spells and stacks with the Blood Ward) and the Bloodmage in your party can go totally bonkers with non-stop nuking + Blood Sacrifice. Add some Triumph of the Crusaders from a Priest for good measure... --- Beckoner with upgraded Ancient Weapons + Priest with Spark the Souls of the Righteous. Ancient Weapons gang up on enemies and each will have a shocking AoE. --- A Ranger with Essence Interrupter putting the transform-effect on an Ancient Brittle Bones Skeleton and then another party member kills said skeleton with Grave Calling ("Calling"). You will spawn: a random summon bc. of Essence Interrupter a grave imp because of Calling two skeletons because of Ancient Brittle Bones (which also could get the same treatment which would result in 2 random summons and 2 imps all not counting towards the summoning limit. You can add some Many Lives Pass By skellies, too. --- Bellower summoning the Dragon (for a quite a long duration) and an Ancient putting Wild Growth on it. Wild Growth lasts forever - so as long as the Dragon's summoning durations isn't over he will be robust (+2 AR and healing every 3 secs) and also be gigantic. --- My favored stuff is a Priest casting an ACC buff right before a high-ACC Wizard (e.g. Assassin/Wizard) casts Miasma for some buddy who shortly after targets the Will defense of enemies (e.g. Furyshaper's Fear Ward, Cipher, Chanter or Priest or so). If one character had to first buff himself up, then debuff enemies and then attack it would take so long. WIth three party members it's a matter of a few secs.

  4. NYPD canceled contact with Boston Dynamics over public backlash Hold on a sec. The robot is not armed. It has not and cannot suffocate, beat, brutalize, nor violate the rights of anyone. All it can do is observe. WTF is the problem here? This sounds like an upgrade over human cops IMO.

  7. If that's really all there is to it, it's kind of a wonder that some of these shows last for more than a season or two at all: ain't no merchandising to be found basically at all for their more serious shows. The very first iteration of this thread was started back in January 2013. You resurrected it back in January of this year on page 15 after basically telling all of us to quit spamming the TV thread. We've now run through 65 pages' worth of posts between you doing that and right now, in just a little bit over 4 months. In the same time period, the Politics series of threads have been through just about 81 pages' worth of posts. So not too far off for basically just 4 posters in the anime threads doing 99% of the posting, . Of course, you should also account for the fact that it's been much more intelligent conversation in here than in the politics thread, too, .

  10. Bit offtopic but speaking of Priest and keeping stuff alive: did you guys know that Withdraw works on the Furyshaper's wards - and that they work perfectly fine even when withdrawn? They tend to get targeted a lot (at least when playing solo - but also in parties if they are very obviously the most squishy target around) so that takes away one nuisance quite elegantly. def. underappreciated by me - because I didn't even know that engagement triggers the ACC bonus of Stalker's Link. I always thought it works like in PoE where only the actual act of attacking counts. I never bothered to check this. I seldomly took Stalker's Link for AoE Rangers because I thought it's only useful against single targets. But if it works on all engaged enemies that's a different story...

  11. contrary to the impression john oliver may have left some people with recently, probable cause is not an easy hurdle to overcome. police needing resort to lies should be proof of the difficulty of achieving judicial sufficient probable cause, but somehow mr. oliver got things bass backwards on a recent show. if probable cause were so ez, why would cops resort to lies to meet their burden? nevertheless, according to multiple sources, the doj had probable cause for a search last year and bill barr blocked the warrant. if barr hadn't blocked the warrant, trump coulda'/woulda'/mighta' pardoned rudy assuming evidence was found which exposed the former nyc mayor to criminal prosecution, so barr's efforts may end up haunting rudy. also, given rudy has known this search were a possibility since barr stepped in to squash the warrant efforts last year, this is kinda an idiot test for mr. giuliani. most suspects do not get +6 months to prepare for a possible search of their home and electronic devices. if the feds find anything, and the warrant wouldn't have been served unless there were cause to believe they would find evidence, it would require rudy to be one o' the more comical willful obtuse former us attorney generals in history, although far from a uniquely comical example. HA! Good Fun!

  12. I'm a simple man, so I like to drop a Pull of Eora on the back row of the enemy, then use Clear Out to knock the front row into it. Then the berserker spams Barbaric Blow on the blob while my two wizards and the priest nuke them and the fighter chucks grenades.

  13. Wizards don't need to focus on melee. Normal wizards might be starved for spell slots after buffing. But a Blood Mage doesn't have that limitation. As for monks, other subclasses also exist. I am particularly fond of the Forbidden Fist, who is great alternative for martial melee and caster multiclasses that are not focused solely on nuking. I actually prefer a FF for Transcendant or martial Sages. Also your look on Ascendants seems very limited. Sure, those are good spells and nicely spammable. But a IMO a cipher worth his salt will use lots of other active powers as well. Borrowed Instinct, Secret Horrors are almost universal battle openers for me. The awesome Ectopsychic Echo probably had more use over the course of the game then Mind Blades (which are a bit situational) or Disintegration (which comes rather late... and competes with other fun activities). Mental Binding is a great "oh ****!" emergency button... or a way to stunlock some dangerous opponents PLUS root their minions. Psychovampiric Shield is a great debuff for tough cookies. Mind Plague, while comes late, is very crippling for enemies and I love using it. Eyestrike is cheap and can provide plenty of value, particularly in the first half of the game. Tenuous Grasp is a great cheap and fast primer before landing serious CC, particularly early on. But anyway, my Transcendant was spending only a part of his action time casting those (far more then 2 powers, as you can see). Chain critting enemies paralyzed by Mental Binding or Grave Bound was fun too. Chilling Fogs he conjured when killing skellies summoned by Pallegina were extremely useful too. Late game rather them spam cipher powers, I often preferred to zig-zag between the enemies with Flagellant's Path (squishier - doesn't mean less dangerous - enemies pretty much explode on arrival), holding Seeker's Fang rapier which provides a mini-disintegrate (that scales damage with current Focus, so an Ascended cipher is great for that) whenever it crits. And it crits all the time with Borrowed Instincts, rapier modal for +20 Accuracy and +5 inherent rapier Accuracy bonus. Not to mention Spider's Flurry is a cone attack that hits each enemy in the cone 3 times... and only 1 crit is enough for most enemies. He was a Helwalker, but if I made him now, he'd have been a Forbidden Fist, since that's such a wonderful melee move/debuff right from level 1.

  14. Leaving apart the fact that many people don't like Ranger as the "pet class", the issue is that their ability tree is mostly about "various little perks" (such as Binding Root or beneficial effect purge) and pet abilities rather than raw power abilities to focus on. Pet abilities aren't bad, but that's usually something you want to do in parallel of a build "main focus". That's why Multciclass often use the other class as "main focus" and the ranger part as "support" rather than the other way around, outside of the obvious ranged attack part. That said, Rangers do have a few synergetic perks (takedown combo and the various acc buff) which makes MC interesting. Also Single Class Rangers have a couple of "raw power" abilities able to be the focus of a build.

  15. Often solo-builds perform less well in a party compared to party-friendly builds. Because a solo build has to be self contained it tends to have worse action economy or an overall more balanced setup in terms of offense and sturdyness than a party setup - where two or more characters can do stuff at the same time or focus on different roles. So it's less important for party chars to be able to do it all (deal damage and stay alive basically) but they can focus on doing one thing especially well.
    2 points
  16. Just personal opinion here: I think it's important as well to specify if builds are viable/tested Solo or not. You can find a lot of fun synergies and oddities between many classes that are not very popular, and have a real blast in a party (where any class is viable as long as your party is somewhat balanced). But Solo-viable synergy is another matter altogether and I think it would be good to add that perspective too when people post builds. The builds that tend to rise to the top in the forums were often made popular because they were Solo-friendly builds (except for some very beloved Party builds like SC Fury or Fury/Helwalker). Maybe that's actually a thing to reiterate too even if somewhat obvious: one doesn't have to play a Solo-capable build to be in a party, on the contrary it can be more fun to play something different and creative. That might also give a bit more love back to certain SC classes which are absent from your list .

  17. Past two weeks or so while in my pc room, off and on all day and early morn like 2am: "What is that weird/freaky noise? Did the neighbors get sick geese? Or a turkey? Mutated cats? What what?" *YouTube* ... Oh, it's those white herons/egrets nesting in the street trees ... it's weird because I don't remember hearing their gobbles and calls last summer and they were in the same tree. I also didn't know they made that kind of noise. I always see them from far away, wading in the bay outlets etc.

  18. Conan Exiles has put some fantastic enemy camps around the Isle of Siptah. They used to be pretty cookie cutterish on the mainland, but these ones have their own sort of story to them. Also the loot seems a lot better. I'm level 40 now and it's a good challenge to go in with my Stygian sidekick and try and pillage their belongings. Also there is this awesome Stygian fortress near my base that I've only scratched the surface on. Plus this island is made with the horse in mind, so it is actually enjoyable galloping across the grassy plains near my home.

  19. Ok, just FYI. Wind turbines produce AC. Solar produces DC. Wind power is a supplementary source. The turbines must reach a certain RPM before their output reaches a useable level. Whatever that is in the system you are looking at. In most wind farms you will have 20-30 turbines with their output in parallel with respect to each other. This is because of Kirchoffs Law for voltage. All drops in a closed loop circuit equal zero. No matter how many loads. Voltage on all parallel paths will be the same. The paths will have a monitor circuit that will switch the circuit “on” once the turbines are up to speed and the loads are likely on the primary side of a series of step up transformers. The secondary side will take the higher induced voltage and connect it to a distant load (municipal power utility most likely) and the electrons will do their stuff. The utility connects the wind farm output in parallel with their utility output (because our old buddy Kirchhoff) the municipality will draw on both sources. This lowers the demand on the utility that is presumably burning fossil fuels to create power. Solar produces DC. Those panels will be multiple circuits in series configuration because most produce a very small amount of power. In series circuit voltage is additive. To get to 1000 VDC you will likely need 500 panels in series at peak efficiency. Now you are right that solar power is inconstant. That is why , most of the time, solar power charges a battery network that in turn feeds an inverter. As I have been pontificating on at length in the past two pages inverters are not terribly efficient. The reason why if anyone is curious as their output is not a sine wave. It is a square wave. So filtering and wave shaping is going to be a major part of the system. Guard Dogs law of circuits clearly states “the more s—t you have in the circuit the more losses you incur.” Anyway that 70.7 is not some number I pulled out of my butt. Anyway the theory is the batteries supply the power under constant charge from the solar network. Of course the battery voltage is going to drop. So at some point a low-voltage disconnect circuit will trigger and it will shut down the output of the battery plant until it is charged back up again. Neither of these so-called green options are capable of running all the time and neither is capable of being a primary power source. That’s why I said they are both supplemental sources.

  20. I actually recently tried a beastmaster (shifter + stalker) and it kind of wrecked house. Enough that I got bored and switched to a Sorcerer (ancient + enchanter). (If I had kept with it, it probably would've been a tailor-made build for wrecking megabosses since beastmaster + druid = incredible petrify effects) Maybe I should write it up. There's obvious Boar DoT + ranger synergy, but ranger + caster is probably just a really underappreciated combination (I also really enjoyed a itinerant=berath+ghost heart class). Ranger/caster really shine on PotD where ranger's insane accuracy can really help a caster pull out of the -15 deficit effective accuracy you start with at that difficulty. edit - shifter boar form, unfixed by whatever balance mod, is probably just too good on its own, and it merely is exacerbated by a martial multiclass like ranger. helwalker or rogue would also be stupid good.

  21. 2021 NFL Draft Tracker - Prospects | NFL.com we got no predictions for future hall of famers. trevor lawrence is the uncontested #1 prospect, but we never predict qbs to the hof. in fact, am thinking the safest draft prediction for any year o' the draft is that the worst move will be a team trading up to take a qb. trevor lawrence looks like he has all the tools. is no good reason to think trevor lawrence will not succeed save for biggest hurdle o' going to jax. david carr were similar can't miss. kyle pitts is a physical freak at te and he had excellent production at florida-- best player regardless o' position in our estimation. best lineman is penei sewell, a young guy from university of oregon who has all they physical talent needed but needs to work on run blocking, general technique and film study. caleb farley were considered a top 5 overall prospect at the end o' the college season. will be perhaps the fourth or fifth cb taken. mac jones is considered ~40th best prospect by most prognosticators, but he might go #3. mac jones has good/excellent accuracy, so his basement is better than a few o' the prospects who is considered better qbs. dunno. will be a curious draft, and am certain some team will give up too much to grab a qb. HA! Good Fun!

  22. xbox~~single player~~281 days~~mild •While in inventory food and water is displayed wrong. •game lags when exiting inventory, sometimes when entering. •”Threat detected” is stuck on screen after threat is gone. Reloading fixes this. Happens randomly. •When in inventory, controller is sometimes unresponsive. Can sometimes switch between tabs and it will work again, otherwise reload fixed it. Happens randomly. •Wolf spiders are getting stuck in the Oak tree and rocks. Never seen one of them stuck on anything before. •Diving bell spider chunk in inventory and chests are displayed as a white square. •crafting and workbench armor. “Lower body” and “upper body” need to be swapped. •Noticed a bone icon over my damaged sprig fences. Fixed them and bone was still there. Reload fixed this. •Noticed the big mushrooms were gone by the mysterious machine. The smaller ones around it were still there to be picked. Not sure if removal was intended. •probably not a bug but noticed this few weeks ago when the feathers started respawning. The crow doesn’t come around much anymore or is just very quiet... when I do see him he just sits there now making a few noises then nothing. I liked it when I could hear him across the map so I could find where he was perched. Then I knew where to search for feathers. •Note to self.. disable the throw/huck button. While admiring the new view across the yard I threw my bow over the edge of one of my zipline towers.. never to be seen again I’m sure

  23. Okay so who else uses the relocate mechanic to move mass amounts of building material??? I know I do, I’m currently half way through build a huge structure atop the stone wall near the pond requiring tons of stem and grass, normally I would do the usual thing and fill the holders and my hand and carry them over, but as you know when moving things around you can only walk and it isn’t until you do 10 trips that you know something needs to change, why not let us run while relocating or even a slightly quicker walking speed while doing so??

  24. Just EU doing EU things with the internet again... This regulation is very well thought through as usual, I especially like that other EU member states can decide for themselves what terrorism is. And since terror isn't really a thing, but a feeling, I will be submitting a demand that all of Facebook be banned, because nothing terrifies me more than the stupification of people that use it and the exploitation of minors and adults data.

  25. Yeah, but when we factor party-play, its more effective to "outsource" some of those combinations, rather then commit you main char to a less then optimal class. Like Takedown Combo, Inspired Beacon, skelly summons for Grave Calling and such.

  26. That makes sense. They also could have really bad taste. Or alternatively the studio could be an attempt to harvest psychic rage and grief in order to rip a hole in dimensions and bring forth horrors too much for the human mind to comprehend.

  27. I kind of get the feeling that for a studio like Cartoon Network, a show basically has to be selling a lot of physical merchandise (i.e. primarily but not limited to just toys) in order for it not to be at constant risk of cancellation. It's about the only thing that I can figure out that makes sense for why they cancel the shows that they do while letting the absolute garbage continue to get season after season. And I guess that basically means that unless a show is popular with a large segment of <10 year olds, it's pretty much always going to be at risk of being cancelling. Prestige, critic reviews, adult followings...all simply just do not matter as much as the glorious dollar.

  29. Speaking of wanting to destroy Cartoon Network, they have now cancelled Infinity Train because, as the creator put it, "the series' stories and themes [had become] too dark and unappealing to children", . ...I mean, they're mostly not wrong, but gosh. Haven't had a chance to watch the last season that came out recently yet, but the second season is one of my favorite seasons of any show ever (I only just barely watched it too - the first season was pretty good, but I didn't find its characters or themes to be particularly resonating with me...very glad I was persuaded to, because boy did that change in the second season). Guess I kind of knew the writing was on the wall when...well, actually, never mind - just in case any of you guys ever watch it. Well, at least Hilda's still continuing (its second season was also better than the first, and the first was already pretty darned good)... The story I've heard about that Ghost Stories dub is that it was *extremely* expensive to make because of various talents they had hired on, but it utterly bombed in Japan, so they ended up giving the distribution and dubbing rights with absolutely no requirements or guidelines to whatever company was willing to pay the most for it, and that company...decided to do that with it.

  30. Yes, I'd limit each character to ~2 roles. It's a party-based game, so you'll still get to play every role. For example, my party is Berserker/Fighter (DPS, offtank), SC Fighter (Tank), Illusionist/Rogue (DPS, afflictions), SC Wizard (DPS, crowd control), SC Priest (buffs, heals, fire).

  31. Xbox One - Mild All the same. This is Early Access so all this is expected but the lag when existing menus is, for me, the most difficult to deal with. I’m used to immediately moving upon exit and the lag causes the camera to jump dramatically when doing so. I couldn’t adjust my habits to this in the amount of time that it started making me feel ill so I just stopped playing.

  32. Saudi's climb down is nearly complete. I still remember well all the Saudis in 2016 saying they wouldn't talk to Iran under any circumstances because they weren't arab and simply weren't worthy. Guess all it takes is Trump leaving, a couple of refineries being blown up and spending almost all the piggy bank in Yemen. Losing to shoeless Houthis whacked out on Qat and watching them blow up Abrams after Abrams with fricking 1960s era Malyutka all filmed on a 1960s era Nokia is bad enough, but losing and running out of money when you're the world's biggest oil supplier? That takes some sort of special ability. GD is being a bit too negative on the DC, our far and away most important transmission cable is indeed HVDC (and the 2nd most important one nearly was and got rejected for 'political' rather than practical reasons) and there are a lot of HVDC lines around- there are just a lot lot more AC ones. Not disputing the general observation about the practicalities of AC over DC though.

  33. I've made several attempts to build a geomancer focused on tossing blights. But each time has been something of a failure. You run out of ammo too fast. But, when you do have ammo, the build is scary. Tried a sharpshooter variant, and there wasn't much of a noticeable change. The ghostheart variant made pet management easier, but there was still the issue of the blights running out. When the blood mage got introduce, I meant to try a geomancer bloodmage, so I could endlessly replenish the blight supply, but I never got around to it. Pre-bloodmage, but I forget which patch, there was the nature godlike build, and that one felt the strongest. Maybe because of power level increase. Can't say. I love the idea of a wizard ranger tossing endless bombs. At some point, I might have to give the blood mage a try and see if that fixes the issue.

Trying to cobble together something from existing work, probably from multiple sources at this point, and new work is likely to produce an incoherent mess, especially for a narrative-driven game. I'm writing this project off as dead in my mind. On the off chance that it releases and isn't a dumpster fire that will be a pleasant surprise.
