The first problem for me is that casters profit way more from it than other classes. The second problem (that is connected to the first) is that Brilliant lets you regain uses of Wall of Draining and Salvation of Time which both can be used to prolong Brilliant again - which is an OP cycle. I guess we all agree on that basically. Now there's just the question how to solve this. Anyway: my question regarding "foe-only" Brilliant was answered. So thanks all.5 points

There are two things that work in favor of casting Great Maelstrom naturally: 1. It's main strength is more in dealing with trash fights. You cast Great Maelstrom, fight ends instantly. I wouldn't actually use it in boss fights where Touch of Death might be more powerful. Of course this isn't mutually exclusive with carrying scrolls. Scrolls, on the other hand, are a bit too expensive to spam every fight. 2. A good bit of the damage comes with high intellect leading to longer AOE duration (more damage ticks). Scrolls don't take into account any of your attributes aside from dexterity. That makes them useful on low might/perception/intellect characters, but compared to a high intellect character it is noticeably weaker.4 points

I got some good news on the housing front. We are renting from some friends. Eventually they want to develop the property. It is zoned residential/commercial, and they plan on putting a business at the front and condo units behind or on top. I was worried they were looking to break ground in the next yeae, but it sounds like they are waiting. They are also interested in letting us buy a condo unit, which might be perfect for us. We love the location, so hopefully we can figure out a way to stay long term.4 points

I've been driving all over the midwest making all the money I can to build for a downpayment. I hope to buy a house in the North Carolina/Tennessee mountains later this year. More likely than not it will be on the Tennessee side, but that's not 100% yet. Mortgage rates are still at very low rates because of the pandemic and I'm one of the few lucky enough to not he crippled by it because of my job, so I want to take advantage of the situation as best as I can. On the one hand it feels kind of weird to try to use a crisis to my advantage. On the other hand, I had nothing to do with the crisis and failing to take advantage of the situation would do zero to help any one else; might as well strike while the iron is hot.4 points

Also as others have mentioned before, I think that the "curse" of the Druid/Fury is that his most powerful signature spells are available as scrolls and can in certain cases be more valuable to other classes than to the source class. Insect Swarm, Plague of Insect and Embrace the Earth Talon can be good for anyone but especially with builds with inherently high accuracy buffs or ways to debuff FORT to land the spell effectively. Avenging Storm is very strong for martial classes, of course especially broken with Monk SC builds. Greater Maelstrom is a boon to all but seems like it was made specifically for the Arcane Knight: Can get very high Arcana (in the 30s) and with some of the items Boeroer mentioned, reach very high PL on Avenging Storm. Pulsing AoE spells fit well with a static, buffing/tanky approach. Stand your grown, buff, create hazard AoE, let the enemy close in and die. Will work very well in combination with Combusting Wounds, Chill Fog, Freezing Pillar, etc. Really enhances the offensive potential of a build that can be a bit soft on that side in late game encounters if focusing a lot on defensive abilities (i.e. instead of having to spam Blood Sacrifice) Greater Maelstrom benefits from the Eternal Devotion fire lash. Like many players, I try to limit my usage of scrolls to specific situations but the availability of these Druid scrolls has always felt a bit unfair to the uniqueness of the Druid IMHO, just as hypothetical scrolls of Whispers of the Wind, potions of Assassinate or Gloves of Disintegration would hurt the uniqueness of Monk, Assassin and Cipher .3 points

On top of that, the United States is large enough that the vast majority of climates and geographical features are available all without ever having to cross a country border. So, as long as you don't have anything tying you to a specific location, you can choose to move to nearly any climate and/or geographic location of your desire while staying within the same country, and that's just the lower 48, never mind Alaska and Hawaii.3 points

I'm trying an honest report hereafter : I think there is a clear consensus about Brilliant being too strong for casters. 6s tick restoring tier 9 is too much. 1) I think a majority agrees that having not all ticks restoring tier 9 would be good (% chance, cycling, whatever). A minority thinks that capping it at Tier 3 would be a good solution, but I think it is a bit too harsh for a consensus (even if it is current BPM solution). Note that an actual solution would have to work around technical constraints. 2) Everyone agrees that Brilliant is significantly stronger than other Tier 3. I don't think there is a consensus to consider it as a problem. But that's why other solutions are being suggested. 3) I think there is consensus about Brilliant having OP combo with some spells : Barring Death Door, Unbending, Salvation of Time, Wall of Draining... I think this should be addressed by tweaking these spells. BPM does it for SoT and WoD. I don't think there is a consensus about nerfing Brilliant directly because of these spells.3 points

Back to games people actually care about: Evil Genius 2 will have Brian Blessed as the voice actor for Red Ivan. According to Rebellion, this means the game is also an official sequel to Flash Gordon.3 points

Something I realized while messing around with my Brawler is that the Dichotomous Spirits you summon actually inherit all your gear except your weapons along with all the properties they have. They can't use active abilities attached to them, but all the passive abilities seem to be fair game. I'm wondering whether it would be possible to make a goofy build where you deliberately hit your own monk and his summons with friendly fire. The other upside to Dichotomous Soul is that it only costs wounds which you have an infinite source of, and unlike Chanter phrases accumulate quite quickly. My initial guess at making this work would be to pick a non-godlike race. Some of the helmets are fairly strong and I think they work on the spirits too. Unfortunately that means you can't be a nature godlike so you're missing that +1 PL for your fists. My second impression is that you should probably multiclass with a Fighter. Several reasons: 1. Since you're going to use your summon a lot, not having WotW and Resonant Touch doesn't particularly matter that much (I also despise playing as single class monks due to how boring and broken these skills are). You'll be spending your wounds on mostly just Dichotomous Soul and Thunderous Blows, and otherwise hold them for Turning Wheel. 2. Devoted get a cool +2 pen to their fists. Helps make up for your weaker fists compared to single class monks. Intuitive is also fairly powerful with Swift Flurry and Stunning Surge since you'll still be punching enemies for most of the game. 3. Turning Wheel+Unbending makes even a brawler with dumped RES nearly immortal due to your super high intellect. In my current brawler playthrough I often solo the easier fights with my Helwalker/Devoted if I'm feeling lazy due to how insane Unbending is. 4. Mob Stance and Refreshing Defense is also fairly nice. In short, a Helwalker/Devoted would probably suit my purpose best. Unbending effectively nullifies all the extra damage you take as a Helwalker and the extra starting wound/+might is nice too. Of course choice in gear is also extremely critical. I think there are two ways to go about this: 1. Straight up suicide build, where you want the summons to die asap and trigger on knockout effects. This means Effigy's Husk/One Dozen Stood as your armor, Mantle of the Seven Bolts/Cape of the Falling Star as your cape, and the Whitewitch Visage you buy from the Spindle Man to trigger at least one tick of Ryngrim's Repulsive Visage whenever your clones reach low HP. The idea is to have your wizards and druids hit your Brawler and his summons with all the friendly fire they've got. Since Unbending is OP your Brawler will be fine and will comfortably have infinite wounds from all the damage. Hopefully your summons will die about as fast you can summon them. 2. A Deltro's Cage Helm build where you don't want the clones to die super fast. Deltro's Cage Helm, Nemnok's Cloak for Barring Death's Door, maybe Effigy's Husk for armor or High Harbinger's Robes for the attack speed. Unfortunately there's not a whole lot of friendly fire shock damage in the game, and the best source of it only turns up very late in the form of Great Maelstrom (remember to maintain high burn AR so you get hit by shock damage instead). Hopefully both you and your clones get a very large lash from Deltro's Cage Helm from incoming shock damage, and the clones will survive a decent amount of time thanks to Nemnok's Cloak.2 points

I imagine its a bit like me talking about anything from the 1980s. Like watching a modern show that is supposed to be set in the 1980s and complaining about how they've mashed the late-80s and early-80s styles in an unrealistic fashion. It just still seems so recent and vibrant for me. As an aside, I was in college and asked my mom to tape Batman: The Animated Series for me so I didn't miss any episodes. Luckily she liked the show too. Except she got annoyed when they kept showing repeats and she'd set the tape up to tape and felt she'd wasted her time. If only I knew then I could wait 30 years and just get the whole thing on Bluray...2 points

This kinda sums the game up in a nutshell for me. Everything in it is worse than in games dedicated to the specific thing, but compensates by having all the things. Problem with that approach is you risk dissapointing everyone. The GTA crowd feels the world is stale and vehicle handling is crap, the rpg crowd complains about lack of depth in the rpg systems and in meaningful choices. Both of which are valid complaints. For me personally it worked well, I found the game to be greater than the sum of it's parts. I loved the first playthrough I did, but replayability suffers a bit. The story beats are largely the same, and while it's mechanically different, the melee slasher I'm playing now is less fun than the hacker/sniper I went with first. Then again, I tend to favor the former playstyle, so wasn't completely unexpected.2 points

Yes, max RES, +RES items, items and consumables which reduce hostile effect duration (Mohora Wraps, Strand of Favor, Cabalist's Gambeson etc.) and of course your ability Clarity of Agony. Use Psychovampiric Shield to get +5 RES on top of that. It's a great spell to apply before Disintegration anyway (because then the Disintegration will last a lot longer on the enemy). That way you can also wear Hylea's Talons very safely because the DoT it might put on you will be very short. And you'll get a wound if it expires, too. The Ring Voidward is also good since it reduces the damage per tick significantly. You can pair that with regeneration gear. If you line all that up you can use the Forbidden Fist ability all the time because the curse will often be shorter than your recovery. This leads to very little self damage and lots of wounds.2 points

Rogue/Fighter works okay, as long as you build him for Riposte and/or Disengagement attacks. One attack per round (2 if dual-wielding) really isn't spectacular. But if you can greatly damage enemies passively, while they try to attack or you move around the battlefield or they try to run away from you (Ryngrim's Repulsive Visage from Trickster), that can be a solid contribution. I tend to recommend casters for Turn Based. Among them, the Wizard shines the most due to his multitude of Free Action buffs. A Bloodmage is even better IMO, as his Blood Sacrifice is also a Free Action, so he's capable of fully buffing on round 1 and then using Blood Sacrifice to recover all these spell slots used + cast another serious spell. Single Class Bloodmage should be okay. As far as muticlassing goes, I know you wrote you're not too fond of the Assassin, but he really fits like a glove in Turn Based caster multiclassing. Free Action stealth with Shadowing Beyond to make your wizard untargetable and safe while he casts - and land a nuke or CC with +25 Accuracy, +4 PEN and +50% Crit damage.2 points

This is one of the serious benefits of living in a country that has a federal system of government, you can have different state laws and regulations in different states and that sometimes allows you to literally be able to look at each state and decide " I want to live in state x because of regulation y " You have choice and that choice is advantageous most of the time2 points

The main benefit of Tennessee is no state income tax. Also, TN tends to have a slightly lower cost of living, not that NC has a high cost of living. These change on a county by county basis, like anywhere else. Also, Tennessee tends to be more lenient on what you can build on your land without jumping through flaming hoops, though, again, that's on a county by county basis.2 points

Saved by the coprtight again lmao Rei's expression all through the episode were great, especially with the gag in the cafe. Something I noticed about S right away is how they are really more animated than in previous seasons, like Usagi's head expanding to 3x size and turning red and stuff.2 points

It may have been misunderstood. Similar to how the German interior ministry said that people misunderstood the Polizei 2020 plan (to modernize police). 2020 was not when it was supposed to be realized, but the planning horizon. So an Anthem 10 year plan could have meant that latest after 10 years, they would have a plan. They came up with a plan much faster: binning the project.2 points

“The men turned away and went toward Sodom, but Abraham remained standing before the Lord. Then Abraham approached him and said: “Will you sweep away the righteous with the wicked? What if there are fifty righteous people in the city? Will you really sweep it away and not spare the place for the sake of the fifty righteous people in it? Far be it from you to do such a thing—to kill the righteous with the wicked, treating the righteous and the wicked alike Far be it from you! Will not the Judge of all the earth do right?” The Lord said, “If I find fifty righteous people in the city of Sodom, I will spare the whole place for their sake.” Genesis 18: 22-27 NIV. well as it turned out Abraham couldn’t even find 10 righteous men in Sodom. But it looks like Harrison Arkansas has at least one. The girl that gave him the note.2 points

. Nope, not a drop since middle of last year. But I wouldn’t worry overly much about the sipping whiskey business. They will do just fine without my contributions! Seriously are the only thing I drink nowadays are black coffee, unsweet iced tea and water. And Gatorade sometimes. And juice sometimes. I’ve cut way back on the amount of carbohydrates I eat. Most of my meals are now just protein and vegetable. And the majority the vegetables are the ones I grow. Can’t say the same about the meat because I can’t bring myself to actually kill my livestock. I get too attached to them.2 points

They're actually less popular than they used to be. They've seen up to 15% of the votes in earlier elections, now they're polled at around 8%. As far as "far right" parties go, they're kind of mild and hard to categorize. They attract the nationalist loonies though, that's for sure, and I wonder how they'll fare with if Sylvi Listhaug ( https://www.bbc.com/news/blogs-news-from-elsewhere-36102329 )becomes their new leader, which looks like it'll happen.1 point

Not really. Although I should. I’ve got arthritis in my shoulder and both knees and still have soreness from the accident sometimes. But I am active and walk a lot. Even walking to cold creek is about a 20 minute walk each way with a decent incline on the way back. Plus I do eat right and I have completely given up booze1 point

Those three values (PPT, TDC, EDC) are what I was manually messing around with. However, while they do affect how much power the chip can draw, they don't seem to much affect the efficiency of the power that the chip draws, which is why you start losing performance once you start lowering those values (and where, if you know your way around with voltage settings, you would then potentially be able to claw some of it back with more efficient settings). So effectively all I've done is lower the power ceiling on the chip and suffered a minor performance loss at 16 thread utilization in exchange for much better temperatures, which IMO is a worthy trade (AMD says 90c is 'fine', but I would generally like to be at least a little lower than the absolute maximum allowed, and would rather power throttle than temperature throttle, )...but I could probably do more. (e): I found this extremely helpful video on how to undervolt + optimally use the Curve Optimizer (e: lmao hell of a thumbnail here, but it's good stuff):1 point
