  3. When school was put on hold, I decided to start a little RPG Maker project to teach about the next unit. It of course ended up taking way more hours than I expected to put together, and my spring break last week was consumed by the project, but I managed to finish. It's a bit loose with the historical timeline, but it's meant to be a fun diversion about the Renaissance, Reformation, and Scientific Revolution. I hosted a browser version here: https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/753261?updated=1587576382 Be nice, it's for the kids.

  4. Weeks two without finding powdered yeast in the store...my wife is getting twitchy. On the plus side we made some home made face masks out of bandana's and using hair bands as the hooks around the ears. But this was hella uncomfortable behind my ears so someone I know 3D printed me a contraption that goes behind your head (like a ballcap strap) and has hooks to connect the hair bands.

  6. Just finished Trails of Cold Steel 3. Can't say too much 'cause it is the third of four games in the mini series and the eighth in the series as a whole, but wow. Not going to lie. There was a lot of talking at the end, though there usually is in Trails games. At one point I went about 4 hours of nothing but talking. Not a cut scene, mind you, but just walking around talking. There's way less combat in this one than in any of the others. This is a crossover event moreso than even Trails of Zero so newcomers will range from confused to not caring about what's going on. As much as I love the first two, CS3 ranks right up there with Trails in the Sky 3 for me. My favorite new character was Ash and my favorite NPC was Jingo (and her dog, Cerberus). A welcome change to the series for me was spreading the character profiles out enough that you can unlock them all in a single playthrough. In CS2 especially they had a bunch of final pages hidden behind bonding scenes in the last chapter, forcing you to NG+ to unlock all the profiles on a single save. Not that I won't NG+ CS3, but it's nice to be able to unlock all the collectibles in a single playthrough (which I did except for one combat note). They also separated link levels and bond levels into different things which works out great seeing as how I managed to nearly max out both categories for all the characters anyway. The second best new addition was the in game CCG, Vantage. There was a card game in CS1 & 2, but the decks were standardized. Vantage is a bit like gwent in that it is a single player game where you challenge other players and win cards to use to build a better deck. There were a couple of cards that are specific to certain NPCs, meaning they aren't things you can win. I was highly tempted in the dramatic moments before leaving for the final dungeon, with everyone looking very serious and concerned, to go around challenging the other players to a game just for the sheer hilarity of it, but decided not to. Total, the game was about 140 hours of an absolute blast.

  7. Since I like AoE: Single Class Monk with Hand Mortar + Fire in the Hole. It's superb. Duality (INT), Lightning Strikes, Stunning Surge, Flagellant's Path, Resonant Touch and Whispers of the Wind are key abilities. Also works very well with Monk/Streetfighter. Here Powder Burns triggers the Streetfighter Passive all the time. Duality (INT), Arterial Strike (AoE), Toxic Strike, Stunning Surge, Flagellant's Path. SC Streetfighter with Gambit and dual mortars. Same as above. At PL8 you can spam Gambit endlessly vs. mobs and at PL9 you can use Vanishing Strike (invisibility doesn't break) in combination with Backstab+Gambit. Before that Arterial Strike and such with the AoE is very good as well. Gambit builds up guile per crit and gets then capped at 4. But while it's executed "internally" there's no limit. Gambit's dmg gets boosted by remaining Guile. So gainst lots of enemies with your AoE you will crit a lot which will in some cases lead to +200% dmg bonus for some attack rolls in the AoE. SC Fighter with melee weapon or bashing shield + Fire in the Hole or Current's Rush: Clear Out, Clear the Path and Clean Sweep all work with a ranged weapon if you have a melee weapon equipped as well. Results in AoE*AoE hits which is pretty devastating. Fighter/Ranger with the same concept, but with Driving Flight and only Clear Out. Comes together later but you can make better use of ranged weapons earlier. SC Ranger with the same concept but Whirling Strikes. Very powerful. Ranger/Wizard with dual mortars and Driving Flight, Essential Phantom and Combusting Wounds. Cast Essential Phantom and Combusting Wounds and then shower those enemies with mortar shots from two chars. Self Buffs, Miasma (Reflex debuff), Pull of Eora, Slicken etc: very good to keep them close together while hitting them. SC Furyshaper with dual mortars and Heart of Fury. Blood Ward, Blood Storm, Panther's Leap, Barbaric Retaliation, Blood Surge, Driving Roar (or the other one). Before later levels use Frenzy Ward, then Fear Ward. Blood Ward drains life from DoT ticks as well, so Blood Storm will provide constant healing ticks. Retaliation also works with mortars. SC Fury with Deltro's Cage and dual mortars or melee/Hand Mortar. Shock spells, Heart of the Storm, Avenging Storm (!). Hand Mortar has the enchantment "Blinding Smoke" which triggers an AoE cone with every crit which leads to a lot of hit rolls - all triggering Avenging Storm. Until then (PL8) you can use Taste of the Hunt with Sun & Moon or Spiritshift, focusing on the casting. Later dual mortars with Avenging Storm destroys mobs. Blunderbusses have short range and thus you are kind of forces to be close. One mortar can be exchanged by Current's Rush or/and a melee weapon. Best if used with Heaven's Cacophony (Avenging Storm). Mortars also work with Riposte if you have a melee weapon or bashing shield. So things like Tuotilo's Palm + Fire in the Hole with Monk/Trickster and Riposte or so can be a thing. Or Fighter/Trickster (Magran's Blessing) or whatever has high deflection and Riposte. Especially if you stack deflection against Disengament Attacks and then run around wildly, triggering attacks that will miss which triggers Riposte.

  8. we know a woman who helps at local food bank. describe her as religious is understatement. goes to church multiple times a week as well as bible study. in addition to food bank and homeless school volunteering, she also mentors recent immigrants as part o' an esl program run through local public libraries. some couple years ago we heard her reference "those people" when describing homeless people who were not taking advantage o' assistance programs. probable shoulda' ignored the comment but we were curious, so we kinda questioned her 'bout her pov on homeless. turns out the woman is a bit o' a bigot who has strong opinions 'bout various minority groups and is dismissive o' mental health problems. ... we had a knee-jerk reaction where we were internal thinking o' her as a hypocrite. then we reflected a bit and realized this were one o' those fu Gromnir moments. (have these moments frequent as we age) didn't matter if the woman were being charitable 'cause she thought it would get her into heaven or 'cause she wanted the praise o' her fellow bible study members. this woman were spending much time and effort helping people to whom she owed nothing. family members is often the folks is hardest to help, but even so there is practical reasons for doing so. helping strangers is different. hypocrite religious lady were/is helping people she, on some level, disliked. every week and month after month and year after year, this woman who kinda despised the homeless and were prejudiced towards numerous minority groups, did her honest best to make better the lives o' less fortunate people. Gromnir criticism were misplaced and embarrassing in retrospect. not donating time to charitable causes such as soup kitchens and shelters for battered women is hardly some kinda indicator that you are a bad person. can be generous in smaller and more immediate ways. ordinary acts o' kindness add up, or so we believe. go and volunteer at a food bank but be an evil bastard to everybody you meet is seeming like a net loss to Gromnir as well, but such questions is beyond us. motivations is not insignificant, but such is 'tween you and your conscience. what you do is what matters and for us is most fundamental 'bout choice. we choose. doesn't matter what others think 'cause is our choice. *descends from soap box* HA! Good Fun! ps keep in mind we ain't suggesting it is ok to be a bigot as long as you donate time for good causes. bigotry is like a virus and it spreads insidious. however, just 'cause religious lady is a bigot does not change fact she is doing something good, doing more than far too many sjw using social media to be proselytizing the evils 'bout which religious lady is actual doing something to make a real difference.

  10. Nalpazca monk has to be high, but not necessarily tall. He has to be wasted to lay waste to his enemies. Must be smashed to smash someone's face in. When wrecked he wrecks everybody else. And when stoned his fists turn to stone. Ok, that's it for "drugged" slang synonym puns unless you ask for more in comments. ^^ =============================================== Flying Focused Flurry (flying on coral snuff or sth ofc) =============================================== Difficulty: PotD v5.0.0.0040 ----------------------------------------------------------------- Solo: Untested but not recomended (two glass cannon classes make suprisingly a bit less glassy one but stil not enough for solo I'd say) ----------------------------------------------------------------- Berath's blessings: +50K Gold/Start at level 4/Bonus attributes(!)/Fine equipment/Pet for Eder(cause you know he really deserves it)/Unique item vendor/Infamous Past/Mythical discovery (I picked level four cause i just jumped ship from battlemage build and did not have the patience for the fight at digsite again at low level, but it is not absolutely necessary) ------------------------------------------------------------------ Class: Transcendent (Cipher+Monk) ------------------------------------------------------------------ Subclass: Soul Blade/Nalpazca (Soul Blade can be changed to Ascendant but loosing all focus after some time seemed overly tedious to me. Nalpazca can be substitued with no subclass if you want to cut on the micromanagement or Helwalker if you want a stronger more glassy cannon) [not tested with Helwalker, but the synergies are still there] ------------------------------------------------------------------ Race: Human (The Fighting spirit can be of great help, but other than that any will do) ------------------------------------------------------------------ Background: Any will do, for RP purposes I chose deadfire and explorer (when I list attributes, they are all base, meaning that deadfire background bonus (+1DEX) is added later. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Attributes: MIG:13 CON:11 DEX:14 PER:16 INT:11 RES:10 ------------------------------------------------------------------- Proficiencies: Rapier(!) But let's be honest, giving him Concelhaut's skull is much funnier given their convo in Bekarna's Observatory) ------------------------------------------------------------------- So there you have it, now for the more in-depth part. The monk is a primary melee class and even though cipher isn's, the Soul Anihilition ability gives us something to start with. This build revolves around two things 1.As much accuracy as we can get, and we have some nice tools for that. And 2. lowering recovery as much we can (the rapier modal might seem couterintuitive but we'll get to that). This build has some crowd control with torment's reach (and proper positioning) and very good single targer dps. It can tank surprisingly well given it's gear, and extremely well with nemnok's cloak, but then again, with it, anything can. Most of the equipment is available early on but this build is still a mid-late bloomer. Basically, when fully kitted out, we want to have rapier modal active at the start of combat, gain some focus, cast borrowed instinct, and crit enemy to death. As long as we have borrowed instinct we turn modal off, the bonus does not stack, it will give the same acc bonus but also +20 to all defences which is huge (best to cast with full wounds for +10 INT). If the chance-to-hit gets below 95% it is better to use tormen't reach to gain focus and spike the damage with soul anihilation, unfortunatelly, we lack acces to Intuitive. Remember also that hit-to-crit chance does not stack, they have a chance to proc independently (no suppresion either). Now about weapons, Rannig's Wrath gives us +10% Action Speed with +4 Acc bonus from Thrusting (that goes on top of rapier native +5 Accurate bonus). This makes it a grat way to start the surging striking. Tuotilo's Palm gets transcendant suffering scaling bonuses so it will end up with more penetration at PL7 then legendary rapier which is kind of funny if you ask me. It has lower base damage than fists so it will be a bit weaker but the "mythic" accuracy bonus (and one of it's upgrades gives it +5 accuracy with unarmed attacks, which it itself also uses, making it great for crits). Honestly it's almost a reverse shield, made for hiting, gives bonus to accuracy instead of a penalty, while still giving bonuses to def and ref. But most importantly, it allowes us to take advantage of two diffrent Fighting Styles (two weapons and weapon and shield) at the same time. To say nothing about increasing wound gain. When does it stop? Well, here, but you get it. Closer to the endgame you get acces to Seeker's Fang. It is cipher boundable and well, guess what. Does damage over time on crits that scales with current focus (that stacks) AND another raw DoT when hitting enemy with any affliction. If only we had acces to stun or sth. ^^ It's Spider's Flurry ability also works great to gain early focus (being per encounter) and immobilize enemies for raised torment positioning. Important thing is to keep your AR as high as possible because well, we're a bit glassy. This makes a fairly versatile character that can even further increase his AR (+2) while debuffing one enemy (-2AR) with body attunement and supply allies with brilliant for long fights. High penetration, high crit chance and good to great speed with a high chance at peak to chain attacks with Swift Flurry and Heartbeat Drumming. And it's not very complicated to play with, only a bit of positionig gimmicks. That would be for it. My first build. <yay!> I'm writing this after not sleeping through the night so if I missed something or you feel something is unclear, please let me know in the comments. Allllriht, ya scalywags, get yer hands to the rigging and hoist those sails! Hard to larboard! And all that. Keep deadfire safe from green man lads! PS. I copied Ascaloth's template for describing build, I hope You/He don't/doesn't mind but it was just very clear and transparent so I couldn't resist. Also quite tired.

  11. Yes, it does. Turning Wheel doesn't (without community patch). Yes, Whispers of the Wind will do AoE-attacks (+ Powder Burns) with both mortars on all jump points. You can have more than 6 jumps - they scale with Power Level. If you for example use Empower you'll get more jumps. If you use Avenging Storm from Heaven's Cacophony you will also create an unbelievable number of procs due to Blinding Smoke triggering all the time. This works extremely well with Resonant Touch as one might guess. Every hit will add a stack of Resonant Touch. So if somethings still standing afterwards you just rigger Resonant Touch and that's is usually: Those are CRE_Dummies who have very high health. Usually "normal" enemies don't survive this. THe more crowded the enemies are the better. Best to lure them with a spell from stealth - or let a tank engage them.

  21. Wow. To be honest, I was dreading that something like this might happen, but thankfully, the people I've been delivering to have been lovely so far. Sure, there was one lady who wasn't happy that a detailed product list hadn't been included inside the bag, but other than that, no bumps. Very timid, very polite. And as weird as it may sound, I actually prefer it when they don't get too, uh, expressive in their gratitude. Guilt stings. I've decided to continue with the shopping, so I hope that if/when the picky people start appearing, my patience will be comparable to yours. Which I doubt, but anyhow.

  23. These type of factors also have a influence on my sleep patterns and this has been raised as a real issue causing insomnia or bad sleep So the virus has created a reality where many people are not working temporarily or have been retrenched or they work in the informal sector and this type of work has evaporated due to the lock-down so most people are just sitting at home and dont work which adds to the problem around not being " socially active " as you mentioned which adds to bad sleeping patterns

  25. Will see if any of this can work., Looks pretty possible except for maybe "Hard Beat" Here is the the item description: Night Club Originally crafted by an enterprising Orlan in the Gullet as a stylish torch carried by the harlots of the local brothels. The intention was to emit a softer light than the standard torch, meant to highlight the bosom and hips while simultaneously hiding the more unflattering sicknesses such as scurvy, pox or the dreaded "hot wind" They gained widespread fame after an incident involving a strumpet by the name of Runny Jenny (or her given name Clyde) who used it to beat several customers for refusing to pay for services rendered.

  26. That makes no sense on either side. The US gvo't isn't an 'invisible entity'. It is real, it exists, and it doesn't give a **** about you. Both sides trying to compare the US gov't to the Christian 'god' are idiots. Afterall, if one doesn't believe in god than one can't blame him for awful happenings but the US gov['t is surely real and is responsible for some evil ****. Problem is both sides are two faced. They are only pro (or anti gvo't) when it suits their purposes. Lefties: US gov't is evil, and commits mass murders and is bad for supporting dictatorships. and intervering in others lives in other countries. Also lefties: Want gvo't to ban all sorts of things, they hate mass imprisonment but are also pro mass imprisonment and murder. Claim to be pro freedom of speech but also want to ban music, tv, books, and movies. Rights: Anti gov't when it comes to defending their guns, and religious rights, and freedom of speech and pure freedom. Also Righties: Want to ban music, tv, books, and movies. Don't like vaccinations b/c of gov't conspiracies. Scum. ALL OF THEM.

  27. OK, so as for Sun & Moon, it should have separate effect for night & day. <Brainstorming on> By Night, Night Club has a chance to Charm Target on hit (vs Will, so good Synergy with the Modal). Can be improved with Dominatrix upgrades that upgrades Charmed to Dominated. By Day, Night Club has "Clean up the Mess" mod that cause -5s Hostile effect when hitting allies. Can be improved with "Secret Reveler" to 10s. Has mod Drug Dealer that causes one of the drug effect on target (Ally or foe) for short duration... that causes a crash when wear off. Has mod Hard Beat that has a chance to cause a lasting effect that Interrupt target every 3s. Mutual exclusiveness to be debated. <Brainstorming off>

  28. You always have the option of retraining in any tavern - and you don't need to be at lvl 20 for any of the DLCs. You need (player-) experience though and I can see that if you kind of rushed through the game or didn't pay too much attention to certain mechanics (e.g. interrupts) then it's going to be very frustrating on higher difficulty levels. It not only doesn't do a great job with that, but really an utter crappy one.

  30. since the old original post i watched some interesting youtube series about what it's like for a non-gamer playing a game. i'm not saying you're not a gamer, i'm just saying the video series made me appreciate the importance of proper scaffolding of game difficulty and game concepts. However much I like Deadfire, I have to concede that it doesn't do a great job of scaffolding information. As an example that I referenced on page 1 of this ancient post, is concentration/interrupts. The game very vaguely teaches you about concentration/interrupts, and then doesn't reinforce it with any major experiences of how important they can be. So for a lot of players, concentration/interrupts are just a murky side combat element that occasionaly frustrates your own spellcasting, up until they hit Neriscyrlas where the difference between one successful interrupt and a missed interrupt is a modestly hard fight vs an extremely annoying and difficult grind. So I think it's a reasonable criticism--especially given how difficulty between base game and DLC is balanced--that the game might be overly forgiving or lax about certain combat concepts before suddenly pulling the rug out from under you. I think it's a bit less of a problem with vanilla game because vanilla game can be beat even on PotD by like level 14-16 (even earlier if pacifist). But even if BoW and SSS can/should be done in the middle of the vanilla game, they clearly were developed after the base game, because they suddenly assume that the player is much more well-versed with a bunch of combat skills.

I just use any savegame and use setClasslevel <char_name> <class_name> 20 false and addAbility <player_name> <ability_name> It's a matter of 5 minutes to "console" any char you have into a level 20-something/something with xyz abilities. Hiring them and leveling them up manually takes a lot more time. Only disadvantage: you can't empower abilites you added via console.

  34. Firstly thank you for sharing, I dont think your post is long-winded at all. Its honest, sensitive and makes perfect sense. I think many people share your experience and feelings especially at the moment I also believe people are fundamentally good and most people really try to right thing in these difficult circumstances and various life experiences This virus has made all us reflect on many things which include our choices and things we have done in the past. Sometimes we will ruminate on how these past choices have shaped our current lives. My view is you cannot change the past and all of us can continue to regret things but end of the day only one question really matters... " what are we going to do going forward " So my advice is try hard to not worry at the moment about past mistakes because realistically the virus gives us limited options but continue to do things that are altruistic as they do matter and there are always people we can help in this dark times, like the elderly Once the virus is over then make those choices that can change your personal life

Besides that: you are entiteld to your own opinion about Pallegina, but your characterisation is shallow and lacks empathy. Pallegina is like an exemplary mobbing victim. Abused by society, not wanted by her father, injured her mother at birth so she can't bear more children, can't have children herself. Of course she carries some loathing and has problems. I worked in a children's home for abused kids for 13 months when I was young. Couldn't sleep well until I became inured enough to not constantly think about their fate and what they went through. If those kiddos all turned out to be like Pallegina then that would be a great thing.

  40. Instead of buffing spells directly I would rather like to see trinkets for Druids and Priests which buff and grant certain type of spells while they penalize others. The last part is optional. Wizards have trinkets (grimoires), Druids and Priests have not. Introducing trinkets for both would solve a lot without even touching the base values of the game.

'course there is multiple varieties. no specific variety on the list provided which means Gromnir needs call _______ to get clarification on what variety she wants. buy eggs from winco for ________. we only went to winco 'cause is __________ favorite store. ________ wants 2x 18 count large eggs. sure, limit is one per customer, and she knows this, but am buying groceries for five folks so am able to sneak this past the egg police. however, 'pon making our delivery it is discovered one egg carton has broken egg bits on the OUTSIDE o' the container and _________ insists she is gonna drive back to the store (a +20 minute drive for a woman with cancer) to get a replacement, so we literal drive to the more geographical proximate store for eggs to get an 18-count carton for her and we take the befouled eggs. not every old person, but more than one, channels a bit o' eddie murphy from the snl family in the attic skit. am not gonna condemn anybody who throws in the towel after shopping for old people... and Gromnir is +50. 43. It seems that miracle cure doesn't work https://apnews.com/a5077c7227b8eb8b0dc23423c0bbe2b2 A malaria drug widely touted by President Donald Trump for treating the new coronavirus showed no benefit in a large analysis of its use in U.S. veterans hospitals. There were more deaths among those given hydroxychloroquine versus standard care, researchers reported. The nationwide study was not a rigorous experiment. But with 368 patients, it’s the largest look so far of hydroxychloroquine with or without the antibiotic azithromycin for COVID-19, which has killed more than 171,000 people as of Tuesday. .... About 28% who were given hydroxychloroquine plus usual care died, versus 11% of those getting routine care alone. About 22% of those getting the drug plus azithromycin died too, but the difference between that group and usual care was not considered large enough to rule out other factors that could have affected survival. Hydroxychloroquine made no difference in the need for a breathing machine, either.
