After talking to a friend who is playing on Pro with ext SSD, I yolo'd a Samsung T5 SSD today and moved my game to that...and it's so, so much better than HDD. 20sec or less on nearly all load screens...vs 1 min or more previously, it's totally changed the game for me!! (40 hours in, keeping 9 saves total). To anyone struggling with the load times on reg hard drive, if you can get a a deal on a SSD your whole experience will be much better (way closer to PC load times).3 points

is an ez way to see just how transparently vacuous the republican process arguments regarding impeachment is: change a mere handful o' facts. President hillary clinton has a call with zelensky on july 25... asks ukrainians to investigate jeb bush. only person she ever asks the ukrainians to investigate regarding corruption is jeb bush. obviously all appointed positions o' Prez hillary is gonna have different names (no mulvaney or bolton or pompeo) but have facts be otherwise identical. one other fact change is that house of representatives is a republican majority. so, play out impeachment and trial exact same up until articles reach the senate. republican house attempts to get documents and witnesses but Prez hillary stonewalls total. similar witnesses make similar testimony 'bout near similar events. same. same. same. so, same articles reach senate regarding Prez hillary. what does mitch mcconnell and the republicans do with same articles from their republican house brothers and sisters? well obviously mitch and senate republicans and fox news and medicineD decry the failure of the house of representatives to fully investigate the President. *insert eye roll here* is any doubt witnesses woulda' been called and subpoenas for documents issued if were republican house going after Prez hillary? ... the process stuff, from the start, were a bs excuse. republicans who wanted (needed) a reason to acquit were fed pap they could easily swallow just as long as they didn't think 'bout the situation reasonable. HA! Good Fun!3 points

am not a democrat, so this may have less impact we had no illusions 'bout impeachment trial. we knew it were doomed from the start. we nevertheless supported impeachment 'cause this President made it impossible for men o' conscience to continue to ignore his continuing and flagrant disregard of the Constitution. if it makes @MedicineDan feel better, we have some sympathy for your plight. again, Gromnir is largely conservative, so as often as not we were one o' a small number o' opposing view obsidian board posters on any number o' issues in recent years. obama foreign policy, bush "lies" 'bout wmds, israel, kaepernick sitting out the anthem and a whole laundry list o' issues has had us not perfect aligning with the republican narrative, but clear opposed to most democrats. am recognizing how you have painted a target on self by being that guy and we do sympathize. however, being conservative does not require a defense o' trump. trump is petty, mendacious and willing to use any underhanded trick he thinks he can get away with to promote himself. whatever transactional reasoning you come up with to legitimize the continued defense and even support o' trump must, in our mind, give way to the overriding concerns o' character and Constitutional integrity which clear show trump's lack o' fitness to hold any public trust much less to occupy the office of the President of the United States of America. HA! Good Fun! ps is amusing all the republicans qq over pelosi when trump has daily been rejecting norms and values since before he became President. those same trump supporters who often cheer the President for being so real when he acts like a spoiled child is now pointing fingers at pelosi? the hypocrisy is thick and would be laughable if not for fact it is just another brick in the intangible but nevertheless effective wall between them and us... which, btw, makes it a far more effective wall than the silliness at the southern border, spending for which coulda' gone to actual beneficial infrastructure projects.2 points

Greetings employees of Halcyon, At this time, we need to inform you that the Nintendo Switch port development has been halted temporarily. The team at Virtuos had their offices closed temporarily due to the coronavirus for their safety. We are happy to report that they are all healthy, but development has been impacted. The release date needs to be pushed back to provide this team with more development time. We also want to share with you that when The Outer Worlds does release for the Switch, you will have the opportunity to purchase a physical cartridge with the boxed version of the game for those of you wishing to own a physical copy of the game. Thank you for reading, and we appreciate your patience while we continue development for this port. We will continue to share more news with you as we learn more.1 point

I'm not sure if this is the right place to come with console bugs or if I go complain to Versus Evil but oh man this game is nearly unplayable, especially now that I'm hitting a bug where several saves for one character literally freeze up when loading, or load and take me to main menu saying there was a map error. This is utterly ridiculous. (if this is not the right place for this I apologize, literally just created account give minutes ago.1 point

The recipie I used is in a linked video a few pages back On your second point I remember when I was in school. I had a exam in multi-variable equations (matrices) that I was woefully unprepared for. So after I got off work I stopped at this little bar in Kendall called the Oarhouse. The plan was to cram from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM for my Pre-Calculus II class at 7:30. Well, that night they had Icehouse Draft for $.75. So one led to another and another. By 7:00 I was sauced and had not studied at all. I stumbled across the street to the MDCC campus, took my test and stumbled back for a night cap. The following week I found I missed only part of one question. Imagine that.1 point

am knowing the simpsons were being funny, but is not untrue... though hardly complete true. the US federal system is the founder's solution to the plagues spawned by athenian democracy. is no need for three branches o' government in a true democracy. is no need for purposeful design which favors bipartisan in a true democracy. is no need for a bill of rights, which is specifically a limit on potential tyranny o' the majority in a true democracy. tribalism is bad as our hillary and pelosi examples stress. in 2020 we are so polarized that groups may and do look at same actions done by trump or clinton or pelosi, and depending on no real change save party affiliation, bad actions become laudable and vice-versa? is one o' the nightmares o' the founders. founders determined that one o' the bestest ways to deal with tribalism were to craft intentional gridlock into the system, 'cause democracy, true democracy, doesn't work. HA! Good Fun!1 point

Currently SAM applies the Robophobia debuff when he is in party. Either the description of the Robophobia flaw should be updated to reflect that it applies everywhere not just combat or (preferably) the flaw should be changed so it applies to hostile automechanicals or npc automechanicals of a certain reputation or whatever. "Automechanicals now give you the willies, and when they're attacking your party you're not as effective as you should be."1 point

Thanks for your answer, Alesia! I knew about that flat +15 bonus to all defenses and accuracy for the enemies PotD grants. And their increased numbers. I was curious how it changes the mostly stealthy approach your characters perform. In my opinion, those buffed defenses greatly increase importance of Perception attribute. If you miss/graze most of the time it doesn't matter much if you have high Might for damage or Dexterity for more frequent attacks. That's why I prefer this three attributes buffed for PotD - Perception (first of all), Intelligence (for AoE and duration) and Dexterity (simply like fast action speed). Constitution is fine on 8 (for start) or even 6-7 after some more experience under the belt. I'm fine with Might at 10 and Resolve is purely for dialogs (Deflection is easily buffed for any class with consumables/resting bonuses/potions/shields/talents). I also think that if you'll take more 'completionist' approach in your exploratory runs you'll learn the game much faster even taking into consideration increased time spent on them. In any case I'm eagerly looking forward to see you in action soon!1 point

Thanks, Concrete Monster! I appreciate your enthusiasm. Hope to see you posting an adventure soon! Best, A. NW: I definitely don't consider myself a PoE pro. My total experience with the game consists of a few weeks last winter and a few weeks this winter. I'm making progress, but I'm still learning the game. There are many, many encounters that I haven't even tried yet. Serg has a much greater claim to PoE pro status than I.1 point

Not ringing any bells, but it's likely a single word and your guess of dismemberment could be it. We might see tomorrow because pledges picked up a bit after mounted combat got revealed. I'm also thinking it's going to be $615K based on the banner, so that may support a smaller feature than a new class or companion. We've got Mounted Combat confirmed. Here's hoping we get weird mount like dragons or flying sharks.1 point

PotD increases enemy numbers and boosts enemy stats. Importantly, it grants enemies +15 to acc and all defenses. These changes are either very noticeable or marginally noticeable, depending on your party composition and skill level. For an expert player with a full crew, such as yourself, the differences would be minor in many encounters: easy is easy, after all. For a solo rogue piloted by moi, the switch to PotD significantly decreases margin for error. Fights that were cakewalks on normal become tense.; stealth paths through enemies become narrower. Over all it's much easier to die. My first solo PotD run was never intended to be a no reload. It was an exploratory run. Reloads were required for Thaos and for some Twin Elms content. I also deliberately experimented with a few encounters that seemed unacceptably dicey, notably in Through Death's Gate. In any case, I hope to show you soon. I have a rogue ready to go. And this time it's a familiar face! Best, A. Best, A.1 point

The guide is all wrong, it doesn't tell you to get Bull's Will + Iron Will (but it did get Deep Faith). The most important part of playing an inquisitor is sporadically admiring your impenetrable will defense.1 point

I like Bleak Walker/Soulblade a lot. You can use Whispers of the Endless Paths as you main weapon. It has a cone attack that hits several enemies. If you use Soul Annihilation (special attack of the Soulblade Cipher) the raw damage not only gets applied to the initial target but some also gets applied to the other enemies in the cone. Also all AoE hits generate focus. But the best part is Offensive Parry (enchantment). It hits enemies instantly who miss you. It generates focus for you when it connects. So in order to do that you want to boost your deflection a lot. That means Paladin's passives, Cipher's Borrowed Instinct and Psychovampiric Shield, accuracy debuffs on enemies and items that boost deflection. Also high Resolve. Against multiple weak opponents this is a lot of fun and against tougher guys you can use your Flames of Devotion (with Ring of Focused Flame). Against single targets you can use Run Through or a backup weapon (like a normal Great Sword for example). It's a great fun mix of defense and offense. Make sure you max your armor. This is most important for chars who want to tank several enemies at once.1 point

Grim Face (Hearth Orlan, Priest of Eothas) & Co - Part 6 Intro Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 It's been a while since we heard of Grim Face and his merry band. They where quite busy though. With talking, with questing, with poking their noses in all the secluded places. And a one single fight with five harassing thugs during ' Supply and Demand ' side quest. Nonetheless, following all that simple mundane tasks was enough for us to hit level 6. But first things first. In Woodend Plains we just sticked to the road to join Sagani/Itumaak (Athletics>3, Survival>4, Lore>5, Resilient Companion, Predator's Sense, Vicious Companion, Stalker's Link), then proceeded to Stormwall Gorge to hire Hiravias and finally ended up in the Dyrford Village where Grieving Mother took her rightful place in the Crew (Athletics>3, Survival>4, Lore>6, Greater Focus, Biting Whip, Soul Shock, Eyestrike, Mental Binding, Psychovampiric Shield, Ectopsychic Echo, Pain Link). Our stay there was short - just talked with locals and took their quests ('Cat and Mouse', 'Blood Legacy', 'A Farmer's Plight', 'Nest Egg', 'Dream and Memory'). Since 'Blood Legacy' involves some demanding fights, Ogre cave is swarmed with Spiders and I want to hire Korgrak at my Keep but not sure if it's possible without building Barracks first, we postponed to progress further in the village and headed straight to the Defiance Bay for some easy questing/leveling (only let Nyfre flee but not dealt with Medreth for the time being to not ruin our reputation with Doemenels just yet). Defiance Bay: Day 1 First of all we had a city tour, the same as in Dyrford Village - talking, poking, you got the idea. Copperlane: started 'His Old Self', bought The Dunryd Demon for Aloth, agreed to fetch a family armor for Osric ('Rogue Knight'), discovered 'Something Secret' (got a knife for Gordy but handed it to him only after buffing a Survival skill with a scroll and showing how to use it safe so he'll not cut his fingers out), listened to a Dalton's sentimental story ('A Voice from the Past') and offer our services to Grimda ('The Parable of Wael'). First Fires: filched Obsidian Lamp Figurine from Vailian Embassy, collected the Edict of Arrest ('Unwanted') and Penhelm's Affidavit from Crucible Keep and also started 'Missing Sentries', 'Built to Last', 'Cinders of Faith'. Brackenbury: agreed to fetch 'The Theorems of Pandrgam' alone with some jewelry ( ' Far from Home '), learned from Kurren that Penhelm's Affidavit was a forgery and got Osric's family breastplate peacefuly. Ondra's Gift: promised Odda to find her "Brave Derrin' at all costs, were embroiled in a dubious deal by Mestre Verzano ('At All Costs'), dealt with some harassing thugs for Maea (' Supply and Demand ') but then agree with Aefre's terms and made an agreement with the Doemenels for cheaper bitter squash seed prices on Maea's behalf (let Kurren go in ' Hard Feelings ' and lied to Bricanta Doemenel that he was dead - lie for salvation is not a sin). Imatl enlisted us to find a parts of Engwithan Scepter (' Clandestine Cargo '), Marceno - his captain's chest ( ' All Hands on Deck ') and Niah - to expel the spirits from the lighthouse (' The Wailing Banshee '). We are such a benevolent folks, we like to help people and especially to sanitize old gothy castles, yeah! Then our actions were like this: deliver a package to Gareth in Copperlane and hand off a family armor to Osric, buy a medallion from Serel (alone with her ring) and hand it to Thristwn so he could leave back home to his clan, wash our hands of the dispute between Mestre Verzano and House Doemenel and despite of my earlier intentions join with Pallegina to finally build my canon Crew (just can't resist a temptation). Pallegina: Survival>4, Lore>6, Deep Faith, Zealous Focus, Veteran's Recovery, Inspiring Triumph. Speaking with Ambassador Agosti was enough for Grim Face to advance to 6th level: Athletics>3, Lore>5, Survival>2, Aspirant's Mark. As it turned out (I didn't knew that beforehand) this 5 points in Lore were cruicial to advance Eder's quest right now. Normally to gain access to the records one need a reputation in Defiance Bay at least 'Friend' and we are at 'Neutral'. But with Lore:5 we were able to gain access immediatelly and that was enough for other Crew members (except Pallegina) to hit level 6 (Eder: Athletics>4, Survival>4, Superior Deflection; Aloth: Lore>10, Kalakoth's Minor Blights, Interrupting Blows; Sagani: Lore>6, Merciless Companion; Grieving Mother: Lore>7, Draining Whip). Defiance Bay is flooded with experience and even such a pacifist approach allow a full party of six to advance purely from level 5 to 6 in one single day. Now we are going to return to our Keep - some skeletons are threatening it from below - and then back to the Defiance Bay for some a little more 'bloody' work. Stay tuned! to be continued...1 point

Yeah, I'd prefer to attribute it to stupidity and incompetency rather cheating, but the amount of weird stuff has been insane. Hire a group of nobodies that are connected to Pete Buttigeg to make an app that doesn't work even a little bit, then release a batch of votes that just barely suggests suggest that he'll win, then slowly release the rest of the votes over the next few days showing them to be about evenly distributed until you get to the very last 10% which coincidentally went strongly in favor of Sanders. That's not even mentioning the people keeping track of where the votes are coming in and noticing voting errors that keep going against Sanders. The entire thing about Iowa is the media boost (case in point, Buttigieg has now received a huge polling boost in New Hampshire). What the hell, Iowa? (e): On an unrelated note, it is startling to realize how different the GOP is today than it was when Obama was elected president - maybe not necessarily in terms of policy, but certainly in loyalties. Both McCain and Romney are despised by what is now the core GOP voter base for "treasonous" acts against their king...they were, probably not coincidentally, the GOP's two previous presidential nominees.1 point

If they're out to avoid any controversy this time around then they've already failed spectacularly on their very first attempt. At work today people were already dipping into conspiracy theories. have mentioned previous how our views on affirmative action have changed. am not suggesting one need be straightjacketed. nevertheless, if views change, is good to ask why. explanation is required, yes? otherwise appears, at best, fickle. at worst? we were sympathetic towards bill clinton's impeachment, right up until he perjured himself. the idea the whitewater investigation would lead to a stained dress were kinda embarrassing and we chastised republicans for indulging such obvious overreach. even so, we couldn't accept clinton lying under oath. failure o' republicans to play fair did not exonerate clinton's perjury. am not seeing how so many republicans who sought to political crucify clinton could simple change their mind 'bout what constitutes impeachable offenses and what is a President's duty to comply with Congressional oversight. if you tell us such were an evolution o' thought process you are gonna understand our lack o' faith, yes? reasons offered so far do not appear to be so much fickle as they is mercenary and self serving. from start this whole ukraine thing were all kinda ugly as the wh tried and bury the ig report on the whistleblower complaint regarding the july call 'tween trump and zelensky. ig needed to step up and step forward 'cause wh were not following requirements imposed on them by law regarding an ig report once it were determined to be urgent and credible. am not certain how that issue keeps getting swept aside. is noteworthy such were only the first o' many acts by the wh which had our head spinning. is no excuse whatsoever for burying the ig report, and yes, as is violation o' statute, is technical a crime to fail such reporting. pretty much a day 1 fail... and went downhill from that point. can change mind. however, when the change appears on its face to be partisan or self serving or biased, then am thinking is appropriate for people such as Gromnir to be suspicious o' motives. is hard to believe so many republicans and democrats evolved. w/o some evidence, am not believing the motivations o' either group. however, like it or not, this is one situation where consistency adds credibility in our mind, particular when is consistent and against interest. woulda' been far easier for romney on 2/6/2020 if on 2/5/2020 he had voted not to convict. imagine motives which is contrary to interests is less than compelling and require a bit of imagination, yes? is another situation we ain't gonna change hearts and minds. doomed. nevertheless, am thinking romney is right 'bout history. yeah, republican voters will forgive, but history's rebuke will be felt by more than one senator who did not do as romney and vote their conscience. HA! Good Fun!1 point
-
well, that and conscience, but am agreeing history is a big factor. romney no doubt believes history will not look 'pon the trump Presidency favorable. the thing is, am wondering when medicineD's opinion o' romney changed. were policy stands on medicare or deficit spending? converse, if what changed your opinion o' romney is his position on trump, then am thinking you might have reason to reflect. isn't first time we posted the following: did you mock obama and perhaps cheer romney when we posted in the past? while not a voting republican in 2020, am a conservative as anybody following these boards for a few years could attest. we had more than a few choice words for hillary clinton and barack obama, particular in matters o' foreign policy. 'course we also preffered john kerry to george bush. am a free agent but am, for the most part, a rational fiscal conservative with libertarian views o' fundamental rights. our views has been, for the most part, consistent regardless o' who is running for President. just as our views on deficit spending and national debt didn't change when trump became President, our views o' mitt romney also remained constant. if medicineD's views o' romney has changed, and essential reason for the shift is the utah senator's views o' trump, then am thinking medicineD needs take a step back and reflect a bit, 'cause such would on its face appear to be a condemnation o' medicineD as 'posed to romney. HA! Good Fun!1 point

Wow at Romney voting to convict. Knew he supported witnesses, but I figured it was gamesmanship - being the first senator from the same party to vote to convict a president, even if purely a symbolic gesture, is a bit more grand than that.
