Allright, let's make an attempt to differentiate Skarpen from Sharp. New beginnings and all. If Skarpen has no relation to Sharp_One then the reference is annoying, if he is an alt then he can use the opportunity to turn a new leaf. Let's not make assumptions is what I'm saying.3 points

Oddly enough you insisted that the rouble was hit mostly by sanctions over Ukraine at the time, not the oil price (that was my position, glad you've come around to it though). Nigeria and Norway were brought up to show exactly that- the rouble wasn't the worst performer, the sub saharan unsanctioned but equally oil dependent Nigeria was; Norway literally has a trillion dollar/ 200k per capita sovereign wealth fund and could send its entire population on holiday for years without running out of cash but still lost 1/3 of its currency (Krone, iirc) value despite no sanctions. The Russians have also made plenty of changes to their economy and infrastructure, you just don't hear about them much unless there's a story to be had (usually something to do with corruption, or how their bridge across the Kerch Strait couldn't be built and now that it has been ahead of schedule how it will fall down). They're not going to turn off the spigots on their oil wells any time soon, but neither will any other oil producer.1 point

Those studios wouldn't touch a faithful D&D adaptation with a 10 furlong pole. At best they'd accept doing a D&D title in name only, but they have much bigger fish to fry. WotC can only choose from the best available, just like they couldn't demand that a Spielberg or Cameron direct a D&D movie for them. Not that I'd mind a fully 3D, first/third person solo character open world RPG based on the Forgotten Realms...1 point

It triggers Adaptive for sure, so i think it should work with Blade Cascade also, since both effects require weapon attacks to proc. With 35 int you have to wait for trigger only once, and after that it refreshes itself every few hits https://drive.google.com/file/d/1fdXtcam_5Y8q820HoRvjw1ISVY4V9W0m/view?usp=sharing1 point

Taking my first dive into Deadfire. One of those games I've been meaning to play for a while but kept on putting it off. But I'm excited to jump in and see the improvements.1 point

I have to say I love reading discussions like this: the whole approach is so alien to my thinking that it introduces me to whole new ways of seeing the game. If I was a game developer, and I am not, I would be making some serious notes.1 point

For Flames of Devotion Magran's Favor + Sun and Moon (offhand) is one of the best setups. Not only because of the +4 Fire Power Level which means +20% base (multiplicative) dmg. But also because FoD is a Full Attack that omits the main hand's recovery. So you can use Bleeding Cuts with the axe without suffering the recovery malus of Bleeding Cuts and use the fast recovery of the flail. That leads to a substantial damage increase (Bleeding Cuts stacks with itself). Also you will have three chances for applying sickened instead of two (since Sun and Moon hits twice). Combine with Ring of Focused Flame and Scion of Flame for +10 ACC (on top of the +10 FoD already gets) and +1 PEN. Can't say if this is the best combo (that depends on so many things like build, party and enemy) but it surely is a good one. Maybe that axe + flail is not everybody's favorite aesthetic option though.1 point

Told the bosses in stockholm, either give me my vacation days as money or I quit. If I quit, they either have to let me go at once, with no replacement (I'm currently the only traffic organizer here, besides that I can do yard jockey work and I train new yard jockeys) or they have to keep me until they can find a replacement(Good luck with that) for me and give me my money.1 point

apologies for double-post. you likely don't want to listen to the whole thing. the name o' the guy with the bow tie is atsushi wallace tashima. born in 1934, he were interred at the poston camp in arizona during ww2. eventual he would join the marines attaining rank of sergeant before his honorable discharge. ucla undergrad and harvard law. ... kinda felt like hans gruber for a moment. anyways, we can't even try and imagine arguing that soap, toothbrushes and conditions conducive for sleep were not anticipated as part o' "safe and sanitary" language from the flores settlement which is controlling what is required o' the US government insofar as immigration detention standards for minors. to do so in front o' a guy who were interred at poston is kinda surreal. however, before people get too angry at barr and trump, ms. fabian, the lawyer for doj in our clips, argued another flores case three years ago and it were even more disturbing. a woman who were trying to instigate a hunger strike in protest o' conditions at a detainment facility had her child seperated from her and the child placed in solitary confinement. fabian tried to argue such treatment were perfect acceptable under the flores settlement. separate and isolate child were a legit response to insurrection by the mother o' the child. 2015 were obama administration, and while there were not a general policy o' child separations in spite o' trump claims, clearly it did happen in more than a couple instances. we will note how the government were kinda in a legal bind on this soap and toothbrush thing... though am not using as an excuse. a judge recent ordered customs and border protection to appoint a monitor who would see to it that facilities where children were being detained were brought into compliance with the flores settlement. judge added specifics for the monitor, requiring children be having access to sleep, soap and toothbrushes. the thing is, appointment o' a monitor under an existing agreement ain't subject to appeal. so the government were trying to argue that as the judge included specifics needed to meet "safe and sanitary" under the flores settlement, she changed the agreement. *shrug* is the kinda legal ack jassery which makes us sympathize with gd's invoking o' the "kill all the lawyers" bit. HA! Good Fun!1 point

I guess the question here is ways to get lots of engagement slots without using Defender/Guardian Stance? Barb, Rogue, and Fighter each have abilities that add +1 each (although the Fighter one adds only that and really isn't worth it). Then there's equipment. Dual wield Last Word and Kapana Taga (with appropriate enchantments) and wear the Reckless Brigandine with the Blackened Plate Helm, which stacks up 4 more. (Plus other bonuses for lots of "engagees".) If you need more than that, or if that gear isn't your style, you can get 3 more either by getting a Priest to cast Champion's Boon on you, or by being be a Brute and using Barbaric Shout. (I don't think these would stack with one another, but I confess that I haven't checked whether +Engagement abilities follow the normal stacking rules.) There's also a Chanter phrase and some resting options that give +1. But, really, how often are you going to be in a situation where space allows you to get more than 4 enemies engaged? A fairly typical Brute build, with Barbaric Shout, Spirit Tornado, all the usual passives, and maybe some of the above-mentioned equipment makes for a quite lovely front-line character. But Mob Stance topping out (as a practical matter) at a 20% or maybe 25% boost to recovery time probably puts it in the "nice perk" category, rather than the "center a whole character concept around this" category occupied by speed buffs like the Streetfighter's.1 point

Sun and Moon is the typical choice for FoD spammers looking to boost Fire-keyworded power level, no? Just take a nap when the sun goes down. (Per your link, IIRC, Last Word's on-crit effect had its duration substantially nerfed at one point; possibly since that was posted.)1 point

Yup, no non-Epic Lemurian that I've found and I'm pretty sure that after my wholesale genocide of their race I'd have found it by now if it existed But I did notice there being a difference between the different tiers (normal, exceptional and flawless) as far as temperature resistance went, hence the question. On the topic of Lemurians (and to stay on topic): I made it to the end (after going back out and stuffing my inventory with water breathing potions), that is, I beat the final boss. But holy hell, was this place hard. Thankfully you don't need to beat everything in there to progress, so selectively killing bosses (or bypassing them) works (and I couldn't have brought enough healing items to do it in one go anyway...) Having a sandstorm hit while I was fighting one of the bosses was a rather interesting (and nasty) surprise, I mean, being under water and all that...1 point

you could be right, but we wouldn't bet on it. after all, aloth were written by carrie patel. as a writer o' fantasy, what is chances ms. patel ain't a fan of dune? dune approval is a near universal for sci fi/fantasy nerds. we do know folks who ain't fans o' tolkien's lotr, but is a bit more difficult to find a genre fan who do not like the first dune book. such people exist, but... HA! Good Fun! ps if the valians in deadfire had employed a document forger by name o' simone simonini (or similar) as part o' a quest, then we wouldn't hesitate at pointing to josh as the root cause.1 point

I'm pretty hyped with the big changes to USB and Ethernet: The frustrating IO bottleneck where networking and USB shared a chip (and bandwidth) is finally gone. The RPi 4 has a solid future capable little server.1 point

I'm on chapter 2 in Judgment. Chapter 1 is very linear, it has no side cases at all, everything is main story. Once you get to chapter 2 the game opens up and you get the side content you expect from a Yakuza game (this isn't technically a Yakuza game, but for all intents and purposes it's a Yakuza game). The story is great so far, but that was never in question. Ryu Ga Gotoku are, and have always been, great at storytelling. The writing is great, the characters, whether prominent or obscure, all have personality, the pacing is spot on. These folks know how to tell a story. I can also happily confirm that the English translation and voice acting in this game is top-notch. SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku have put more effort into the western localization than any previous title and hopefully it sells like hotcakes in the west because this level of effort is appreciated. So whether you go with Japanese voice with English subtitles or English voice, you're going to get a premium experience. There are also some quality of life improvements over Yakuza. For example, you no longer have to keep holding X to sprint, you can just press it once and Yagami will keep sprinting as long as you keep moving. Also, I like the combat in this game better than Yakuza. I'm not sure how to explain it, but it seems to flow a little better. Also, you can do attacks jumping off walls, which is all types of rad, though I need to work a lot on my aim with those attacks. Another small improvement is that you no longer trigger a cutscene for most fights (you do for boss fights). When you run into common mooks on the street you fight them right there on the street without a break in gameplay. In Yakuza games you fought them in, for all intents and purposes, an instance. I like how the bystanders react when a fight breaks out. Some flee, some stand around and cheer on the fight, and some film it on their phones, in landscape mode, of course, because people in Japan aren't disgusting degenerates. On the negative side, it looks like there's no karaoke mini-game. I get they had to remove some mini-games since they added some new ones, but of all the mini-games to remove, why karaoke? It's arguably the most popular mini-game in the Yakuza games.1 point

Missing Ectopsychic Echo, great with Ghostheart. Biting Whip is bad unless using Community Patch Mod. Draining Whip doubles focus generation. I would go Mental Binding instead of Phantom foes, especially if you go Eyestrike. Maybe pet damage buff if you like them ? Predator Sense is tempting with Recall agony and Disintegrate. Not 100% about the rest, but it sounds good.1 point

I defeated the last 3 main bosses and finished the main story in Conan Exiles. The Undead Dragon, pictured above, was by far the hardest boss fight I've had so far. I died a handful of times before I had it figured out, and even then I had to burn through a ton of infused aloe extract to defeat it. It does a metric ****ton of damage if it hits you even if you are wearing high-end armor and it has a bajillion HP, so it takes forever to kill, even with a top of the line weapon, like my black ice broadsword. I didn't actually use The Keystone, though, as doing so plays a cutscene and literally deletes your character. I'm going to install a mod that visually removes the slave bracelet from your wrist and another mod that allows you to walk through the ghost fence without dying, though I'm pretty sure there's nothing beyond the ghost fence. Mainly it's to signify that I have removed the bracelet and am free to come and go from the Exiled Lands as I please, without actually ending the game so that I can keep playing. From a RP perspective, my character wouldn't want to leave the Exiled Lands, not permanently anyway. She's queen here, this is her land. Besides, I have to finish building my capital and there are still other adventures to be had, like the recently added Dagon dungeon. Back in my throne room... Need more treasure!1 point

that sounds reminiscent o' what happened to characters multiple times in bg and bg2. unfortunately... Around 1409 DR, the merchant Orburt Lewel ordered the construction of a nine-foot (2.7-meter) tall statue in the Wide in honor of Minsc, who had saved Lewel's life. The statue, known as the Beloved Ranger, depicted Minsc cupping Boo in his hands. It was a popular landmark and meeting point in the busy commercial district.[10][11][12] In 1479 DR, a group of teenagers vandalized the Beloved Ranger statue, breaking off its hands and Boo. The vandals were later apprehended and the statue was fixed.[11] Sometime in the 1480s DR, Minsc mysteriously returned. The Beloved Ranger was accidentally struck by a wild magic surge caused by the wild mage Delina, as a result of an attempt to cast a spell at an attacking gargoyle. The surge breathed life into the statue and caused it to transform into Minsc and Boo. The pair joined up with the thieves Krydle and Shandie to battle the Cult of the Dragon. Coran, now a member of the Parliament of Peers, was the only person who recognized Minsc as anyone but someone who was dressed like the statue.[1] https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Minsc don't ask us why we bothered to check. stone-to-flesh were perhaps too familiar and too plausible for the forgotten realms? dunno. regardless, a wild magic surge turned a mundane statue o minsc and boo into living minsc and boo... 'cause. HA! Good Fun!1 point

Welp, hard to get hyped about this after all this time. The Saga was complete, after all, so I can't help but feel that this is just cashing in on the cult following this series has garnered over the years (not necessarily by Larian though...) Doesn't mean it can't turn out to be a great game, but tying it to the Baldur's Gate name sets extremely high expectations as far as I am concerned (BG2 is still the standard I measure all my cRPGs to and none have since matched it, in my eyes) But we'll see, we know nothing about the game right now (except that something called Baldur's Gate 3 is being made by Larian) but I find it hard to get excited ("dread" is a more apt description) and have a very hard time wrapping my head around the amount of hype the trailer is receiving. Companies have been trying to match BG2 for years (including people actually involved with the original), and none so far have succeeded to recreate the magic, the best "modern take" on a "BG3" is still DA:O, in my book, and that might be saying something (it's also been a while...) Anyway, I would have preferred Divinity 3 (not Original Sin 3), but we get what we get...1 point

You bet they're gonna screw this up. I mean, no way they're gonna create BG3 in 2019 (or whatever year they'll release it) and make the old guard happy at the same time.1 point

I came here searching for the solution of the puzzle and understand this topic turns to be harder than solving the puzzle... Guys, I don't want to sound aggressive, but you should really think about your ability to explain things to people (seriously, read what you wrote, your instruction are so bad I created a new account just to explain it better). 1. Get to the Sunken Crown map; go through the fight and the scene with the king. 2. Leave the map by the top/left portal. 3. Activate the water manipulator and get the weapon from the statue. At this point both flooded paths just outside the Sunken Crown are walkable - keep it that way. 4. Go back to the Sunken Crown map using the portal (any one). 5. Leave the Sunken Crown map by the top/right portal. 6. Now you are outside the flooded map (just in the first map where you spoke with the dragon before it "dug" a hole in the ground. Go back to the flooded map. 7. Inside the flooded map, go stair up and use the portal (since you have no other option) 8. Use the water manipulator thing just outside the portal - a new path will be available (in the same "platform" you are now). 9. DO NOT use any other water manipulator, just walk and use portals to reach again the Sunken Crown map. 10. Profit1 point
