Well... Final check before release. This is all icons how you will see them in game (42x42 size + post process). If anyone have some suggestions regarding background color or icons itself, it's time to action. As for backgrounds: i've tried to preserve original schema with only a few exceptions. Click (tap) to see the picture in original size:4 points

Work on my tower is complete, the outer shell, anyway: I also built a platform where I put a Shrine of Set. It's reachable with a horizontal elevator: The elevator doesn't line up perfectly on the shrine side, but it's pretty dang close and it works. You sort of have to guess on the placement a bit on one of the 2 sides of the elevator, so it's very hard to get it perfect. Here's the whole complex from below: I had to make a bunch of design compromises along the way because structural integrity is a thing in this game and I was definitely pushing the limits. I originally planned to have the horizontal elevator go directly from the fortress to the shrine platform, but I couldn't build the shrine platform out from the cliff face far enough to make the elevator line up, so I made a little walkway that goes around the waterfall. Next up I'll build a proper crafting area and thrall housing on top of the cliff, then I'll add a wall around the perimeter, but that can wait for now. The thralls can live in the fortress and tower for the time being. I'm itching to do some adventuring before I resume construction.3 points

So I ran the eyedropper tool over shared pixels and some of the whites are indeed whiter in the originals - from the examples you picked, you can see it most clearly on deep wounds, accurate carnage, and what looks like rapid casting (the star and hourglass). It might just be that the gradient range is slightly different here than in vanilla, that the emboss effect has something to do with it, or that the devs used two gradients with the white icon as the middle layer. You could try duplicating the gradient layer and setting one to 80% opacity and the other to 20%, then stacking the layers so that the 80% is on top and the white icon is immediately beneath it - the background will look the same but the whites will end up 20% brighter. To each their own, of course; they look great all in all. Thanks for all your hard work on this.2 points

The explanation I'm going with is that RTwP is the game's core play mode, and TB mode was added with the expectation that it would not interfere, or cause additional bugs with RTwP. You can switch by console, but being able to freely change between the two with an official setting in the options menu is something that would have required a lot of QA, and that wasn't really in the remaining scope of the project.2 points

I couldn't find answers on the Internet to some of my own questions, so I made some tests. I wanted to share my results. I hope some of them could be useful. 1) Enfeeble is applied to itself Enfeeble extends the duration of hostile effects. And enfeeble is an hostile effect iself. Enfeeble does extend its own duration. That means, for example, that Heart Seeker applies 30s of Enfeeble on non-resistant foes (without taking into account INT and PL). Additional tip : that also applies to Weakening abilities targeting vulnerable foes, which makes Toxic Strike extremely potent against them (since its damages increase with duration). 2) Stoic Steel can charge up before battle So if you start battle after 18s of immobility, you start with +3AR. I've never been aware of it before today. This makes Stealth interesting for Paladins ^^ Additional tip : some of the "teleporting" abilities such as escape don't cancel Stoic Steel. I haven't test all of them. 3) Gambit refund only works on first hit/main target Even if you use a multi-shot (classic blunderbuss) or AoE weapon (mortars), you'll get the refund only if 1st roll on main target. So to get the complete refund, you'll need to dual wield and score 2 crits with the 2 "main" attacks. It is still good to get some AoE crits, but don't except a refund. I haven't test it with WotEP. 4) Heart Seeker doesn't apply Bounce or AoE. I have tested it with Watershaper focus, and only foes in the ability line can be hit. There is no double hits due to Bounce or rod's AoE. 5) Whirling Strikes does apply Bounce. You need to equip a melee weapon to perform whirling strike. However, if you hold a ranged weapon in your other hand, you'll attack with it too, and it will even trigger Bounce with Driving Flight. This makes Melee & Ranged dual wield somewhat attrative for ranged, especially with Scordeo's Trophy. 6) "Thunder Rolled..." upgrade "...its crash could not be denied" apply a +15 Accuracy bonus, which is fine IMHO. The description does not specify it but you can read it by picking the ability and checking its accuracy before or during battle. 7) Unbending not triggered by Take the Hit Self damages from Take the Hit does not proc Unbending regeneration. It could have been a nice combo, but nay... 8 ) Garrote complete description The description is vague, so here is how it actually works : 6s paralysis (modified by INT / PL) as described. During paralysis, the target takes about 4 raw damages per tick (1s tick !), modified by MIG / PL. After paralysis, the target is prone (so the 3s Prone are added to Paralysis duration for the total duration of incapacitation) After paralysis, the target also received 20 raw damages, modified by MIG / PL. Overall, it sounds nice and scales quite well. On a Single Class Paladin with max MIG and INT, it does around 120 raw damages total. It might be nice with an Helwalker or a SC class Paladin (since DoT gets double benefit from PL and SC Paladin might get a lot of zeal to spend from Divine Retribution and downed summons).1 point

I have started a new game and reached the point where I can start sailing. I picked up some crates to the east of the starting point and Furrante's ship was already on my toes. I had to do something else and left the game in that state for an hour or so. When I came back, Furrante's ship was moved onto Maje island and got stuck their. A reload fix it quickly, but still this seams to be a way to skip this interaction. Here is a picture of it. I'm on latest gog v5.0.1 point

Why is Xoti not well written? Doesn't she rather well represent a particular kind of religious zealot (say, a North American foaming-at-the-mouth-abortion-campaigner who is so set in their ways that objective facts simply don't register)? I agree that she is unlikeable and foolish - but not well written? Why?1 point

I think that emboss would look "cleaner" or "sharper" if the icons themselves weren't white. White edges can't be made any brighter - and thus the added highlight looks a bit like a blur effect on the top while it's totally fine on the bottom (where the contrast beween white icon and dark edge is the highest). Maybe grey icons would solve this - but then all the non-altered icons (all class icons, Snake's Refelx, Confident Aim etc.) would need rework as well... But actually what you showed my in your last PM was totally my cup of tea.1 point

Wow, you were fast. The right ones look a bit blurry, but only at the top. That might be caused by the slight "embossed" effect that adds a highlight to the top edges and darkens the bottom edges. The ones you did a few weeks ago for the "alpha" version didn't have that. Therefore they look sharper - like the original ones. Here's the atlas file from the mod: I think I prefer them without that effect.1 point

Be aware that SoT doesn't work on Vanishing Strike since you're untargetable while the invisbility is active. The closest to this should be : Brillant on the Rogue from some source (Cipher or Robes of the Weyc). Max INT and Ooblit for vanishing Strike duration around 13s (to be checked). Vanishing Strike every 18s from Brillant Cast Brillant and/or SoT during the the few seconds when the rogue is not invisible. It seems more tedious than Scordeo's Edge + BDD + SoT even if you don't rely on a 5% proc.1 point

Volo !!! Im shocked by your criticism of the true queen,....I am almost speechless She freed the slaves and killed the slave masters in Slavers Bay..why do you like slavery? Maybe in Canada slavery is acceptable but its highly frowned upon and illegal in the rest of the world. Dont be a slave-Nazi..its wrong. Her brother was insane and was abusive and treated her terribly, he deserved to die. Why do you like abuse of women? Dont be a Nazi abuser of women ..its wrong She didnt enslave the Dothraki or the Unsullied, they willingly joined her ...the Dothraki even were prepared to commit mass suicide in some meaningless and myopic charge against the undead when they couldn't even see the enemy...thats loyalty for you. Dont be a loyalty-Nazi.. its wrong She only threatened to destroy other cities if they didn't capitulate and all agree to her polices based on order and freedom...dont be a Nazi hater of freedom....its wrong And finally Im not supporting her just because she has boobies, Im not that shallow !!! I like her whole package including her boobies, give me more credit1 point

Netflix keeps recommending The Rim of the World to me. Watched the trailer and I have a question. I'm pretty positive I saw a similar concept in a film already. A group of people missing an alien invasion by being in the woods or some other remote location. Also with fighter jets flying through the air. Did my brain make that up? I can't recall much else about the film to it didn't make a lasting impression. It's just a vague feeling of familiarty.1 point

You should be able to do it via console, but the caveat is that switching is the sort of thing that hasn't been extensively tested, so you're on your own with any unpredictable results. https://pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com/Console#SetTacticalMode The console command you're looking for is SetTacticalMode, and it does not require cheats to be enabled to swap between RTwP and Turn-Based.1 point

Lightning Strikes I presume? It's either Lightning Strikes or Swift Flurry. SoT-cheese with Brilliant aside: There are other options that do a lot more dps - especially on mobs (not necessarily on single targets) but they trivialize the game so much that it's no fun. E.g. Berserker/Beckoner with Ancient Brittle Bones and Chilling Grave from Grave Calling. Usually instadeath when you proc 18 parallel Chillfogs at once that all profit from the weapon quality enchantments (meaning +dmg and +PEN etc.). Monk with Whispers of the Wind and a scroll of Avenging Storm, combined with Hand Mortar (Blinding Smoke) and Fire in the Hole (additional jump), Stalking Cloak, Resonant Touch... also usually instadeath if enough enemies stand side by side. Single Class Streetfighter with Vanishing Strikes, Stalking Cloak, Gambit and dual Mortars + Blinding Smoke/jump and scroll of Avenging Storm + Backstab + Powder Burns: same. Usually the encounter is over then and you don't need Brilliant not SoT. Unfortunately Megabosses force you to pick a class with replenishable resources. I honestly think that's unfortunate design. I also think that Brilliant is way too strong. So instead of removing the possibility to get it to almost zero it would have been better to just nerf Brilliant itself. Acute gives +5 INT and +1 PL. Why Brilliant not simply gives you +3 PL or something is beyond me. Why this game breaking resource generation? And why aren't there more abilities for rogues, fighters etc. that let them regain resources more reliably? Those 25% on kill and whatever is just... bäh.1 point

Professional "armchair" psychologists, always seem to forget about the social nature of games that keeps people coming back. In a world that increasingly puts pressure on especially youth to take them out of the world at large and stash them away in the home for "safety." No wonder kids develop a life in their games. It's also a form of stimulation to keep their mind active in an otherwise fairly monotonous and rote world. I feel games are one of those easy topics to invoke nanny politics about, as opposed to dealing with more serious societal issues. I think a lot of issues with gaming stem from a sunk cost fallacy, where it's hard to invest in other social connections that might not pan out when you have your current ones so established. This doesn't even have to be just for multiplayer games, but communities that talk about single-player experiences and so on. I say this as someone who was a pretty hardcore gamer that basically dropped the hobby a few years into college as life came at me fast. I probably had all the signs of a gaming problem, and now I have none. (Internet addiction be a whole other thing though, but that's everyone and their nan now.)1 point

Furi The tutorial. Finally purchased the soundtrack (GOG) and decided to replay the game. It went quite well - I've reached the Song in one session. Not sure, if I should go for the Burst, though. Her last bullet-hell sequence was hard to play for wrong reasons (too bright background, non-45-degree attack angles, so I had to switch the control scheme mid-battle).1 point

My most favorite is the better stealth/sneaking and the more coherent Inspiration/Affliction system. The least I like the reduction of endurance & health to simple health - and the PEN/AR system.1 point

GOG wants to make competition their market by relaunching their Galaxy Client as a universal gaming hub, allowing to manage games across different launchers: https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2019/05/22/gog-galaxy-2-0-claims-to-be-a-universal-games-launchpad/ no news about release date, but they opened signups for beta (existing gog account required).1 point

Back in 2015, another player parsed the *.conversation files to count the unique dialogue options for various character creation choices. I was interested in an updated list for the base game and DLC, so I wrote a XML parser in Python to produce a similar report. I also covered options that add disposition points and options that check disposition points. FULL REPORT WITH DLC BREAKDOWN DispositionAddPoints Breakdown This breakdown reports the number of dialogue choices that add a Minor, Average, or Major amount of disposition points, as well as the total amount of points for each disposition-strength pair. Strengths: Minor = 1 point, Average = 3 points, Major = 7 points Ranks: Rank 1 = 1 point, Rank 2 = 25 points, Rank 3 = 50 points, Rank 4 = 75 points Notes: I wasn't sure whether to leave in the conversations in the "prototype_2" folder, so I erred on the side of caution and I left them in. I excluded the conversations in the "conversations" root and "conversations\test" folders. No options were filtered out, such as the Fire Godlike checks in The Ruins of Cilant Lîs. Keep that in mind! If I forgot anything, let me know! Race Notes: [Race] The single Human check also checks for Aumaua, Godlike, and Elf. [subrace] Island Aumaua have no checks in Eternity, White March I, or White March II. Culture Notes: The Nassitaq check also checks for TheWhiteThatWends. The same is not true of TheVailianRepublics, and since you can choose only OldVailia as a background, I guess Fyrga never says this to you:1 point
