SadExchange 165
For those who backed Divinity: Original Sin 2 and are redeeming it through steam, you're actually able to download and start playing the game today as a treat from the developers. Obviously, it's early access, but wanted to spread the word in case anyone was waiting.

Lexx 2,386
Simple truth: I never really liked this anime styled stuff. I simply don't like it. It just doesn't look good to me, only stupid. What's the point of that Gunblade? Why everyone wears this stupid hair? Why everyone looks like a teenage emo who actually shouldn't run around like that anymore? Why do most girls look like a pedos dream? List goes on and on... 6 "only when you no-life you can exist forever, because what does not live cannot die."

Agree except for that girls stuff, me gusta I'm the enemy, 'cause I like to think, I like to read. I'm into freedom of speech, and freedom of choice. I'm the kinda guy that likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder, "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecue ribs with the side-order of gravy fries?" I want high cholesterol! I wanna eat bacon, and butter, and buckets of cheese, okay?! I wanna smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in the non-smoking section! I wanna run naked through the street, with green Jell-O all over my body, reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly may feel the need to, okay, pal? I've SEEN the future. It allowed two-player co-op by default, but let each player control two party members each. Mods quickly allowed for four player co-op and it was such an obvious move that it's just implemented by default in the sequel. Really the puzzle is why they didn't do it the first time around. Gorgon 1,791
Well it's fine obviously as long as it doesn't lead to the game becoming 'every MMO' not that I think it will, but multiplayer design is a different animal. Obviously they were surprised by the number of rpg nerds who had four three friends. Though they should have remembered that four is the practical minimum for a D&D session, at least. WorstUsernameEver 598
Well, maybe the colour coded random-stat loot. Didn't like that aspect of the game, but at least when I found a decent weapon I could hold onto it for a reasonable length of time and not have to think too hard about it. Pretty much all the "MMO-like" aspects of D:OS can be retraced back to the fact that Larian started the Divinity series by copy-pasting Diablo's gameplay loop, so they probably instinctively come back to some of those design elements. Personally, I wish they'd drop stuff like being able to see the enemies' levels and the color-coded randomized loot, but that would require some pretty significant rethinking and they probably just don't want to do it. Plus, they can get away with that game-y stuff because Rivellon is a pretty silly place in the first place.
ManifestedISO 2,861
Wow! Look at all those reused assets! Same map layout but I didn't notice any identical assets. Pretty well re-imagined gameplay, I thought. All Stop. On Screen.
Lexx 2,386
Well, the whole area is using the same assets and layout from MGS5. They just edited the map a little bit and added more junk & destruction. I didn't expected the game to use the same engine, tbh. Still calling bs on this one, though, especially because seeing this coop thing pains me a lot. Why can't they make it in style of the MGS5 singleplayer, just with multiple people and unique tasks? Not this stupid zombie survival wave shooter stuff. To me this feels like they completely missed what the people really wanted. Again.
