Wormerine
Further scoop on StarWars games in the making. Seems like Respawn is "overseeing" other StarWars projects. 1) There is already roumors sequel to rather decent Respawn's own Fallen Order 2) There is Star Wars FPS lead by one of the creators of Force Unleashed, Empire at War and original SW: Battlefronts 3) and previously mentioned ex-Firaxis turn based tactics studios, Bit Reactor is working on Star Wars strategy game.
Wormerine
Some things which make me feel unleasy - like Endlen Ring being the easiest of Softworks games? With the difficulty of their titles being greatly exaggerated I somewhat worry it will be a duller experience. That was a worry some people (including myself) had seeing gameplay demos.
uuuhhii
pathfinder setting absolutely exist to serve the table top need on every level the whole pathfinder society thing was one of the worst part of the entire setting only exist for actual pfs avistan neatly cut into small roughly square shaped pieces for all the popular trope the worst offender would be linnorm king ice witch mammoth lord three square most things barely change even though 20 team of high level murder hobo kill their way through so many high level places leaving a few hundreds of 15 to 20 level body behind things like taldor are still monarchy cheliax losing a small conor piece are barely noticable but the whole graveland thing was pretty drastic and a great move to end 1e and start 2e all very functional for a table top setting
bugarup
Pathfinder has the same problem for me as every Bethesda open world RPG - the setting fells like a theme park, not a coherent world, also if dictionary entry for word "derivative" needs an illustration, they should look no further than Pathfinder. I find Obsidian's settings both more original and more believable, with a little side effect of it being hard to be mean to characters there, whereas Pathfinder's world and characters make me want to go full Nerat on them. 2

I wouldn't say that's the main difference of the two games though, PoE is more easy to learn, while Kingmaker is like D&D lets use all the books hell.

This is how I largely feel as well. Furthermore, I would say that because of how the Pf games are made, which is to say they are directly made from Pf TT game modules, you get only a micro-level exposure to the Pf world (Golarion), unlike the PoE games which give you a much better immersion into the world (Eora) overall.

The fact that it's open world was already a huge red flag for me. I expect the game to be fine-ish, but not really be my thing a la Sekiro*. *But in a totally different way from Sekiro, which eliminated all the interesting enemy encounter design of Souls games in favor of going all out on bosses and mini-bosses (...many of which effectively fought the same way, so that wasn't really ideal to me, especially because many of my "fond" memories of Soulsborne games are the innumerable ways the world and non-boss enemy design could screw you over, which was just...not really a thing in Sekiro). Sekiro also bizarrely got rid of a lot of incentive to explore since there was no gear or interesting items to ever pick up, so that's one way Elden Ring can immediately become more appealing. 6 hours ago, melkathi said: The problem I have with fancy settings is that they have done all this work, so now need to spend a lot of effort telling you what it is. For I have failed in everything - spelling, arithmetic, riding, tennis, golf; dancing, singing, acting; wife, mistress, whore, friend. Even cooking. Chairchucker
I heard Phoenix Point was not very good so even though I own it (I backed it on Fig or whatever) I haven't played it. So I doubt the DLC will change my mind.

So I doubt the DLC will change my mind. Phoenix Point is good, and some of the DLC has really improved the game experience. I'm not a fan of vehicles, so this one doesn't strike my fancy. But the game is definitely worth a spin, particularly if you like the Xcom style of games. It has more of a slow strategy game approach than the fast progression of the newer Xcom games, but I'd say try it out if you own it.
melkathi
I think the vehicle DLC is the one truly pointless one, as vehicles are a cute gimmick but nothing more. They are expensive, gain no XP and awesome skills, and they are too big to maneuver a lot of maps. There is little incentive to have them beside very specific missions. It does seem to introduce a new Mad Max style faction, so that's something. Not that the game lacks factions, mind you, but I guess this could replace the rather lackluster raiders that you encounter in a few places. But honestly I'd rather them give some depth to the Pandorans. At this point you will spend more time dealing with human factions than combatting the global threat. melkathi
That was always a problem with the game and possibly what alienates the most people, making them pick up more on other problems. People were far more prepared to forgive xcom it's problems and a major thing that game didn't do was break the promise of being an xcom game: a game about fighting an alien threat. Chilloutman
Seen them all. Always kinda makes me sad that you can't play character like him in RPGs. I'm the enemy, 'cause I like to think, I like to read. I'm into freedom of speech, and freedom of choice. I'm the kinda guy that likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder, "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecue ribs with the side-order of gravy fries?" I want high cholesterol! I wanna eat bacon, and butter, and buckets of cheese, okay?! I wanna smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in the non-smoking section! I wanna run naked through the street, with green Jell-O all over my body, reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly may feel the need to, okay, pal? I've SEEN the future. Do you know what it is? It's a 47-year-old virgin sitting around in his beige pajamas, drinking a banana-broccoli shake, singing "I'm an Oscar Meyer Wiene"
