  1. Same as the last one but this is the new one so slightly different but the same-ish. Steam UPlay GOG As always please send a PM
  2. You guys(and gals) have done a really rad job on the game called grounded! It looks stunning and plays really well. No doubt about it. This sweet little game is rad. So when I heard about the possibility of a tv series coming soon, I practically peed my pants in excitement! (not really tho) but…. it has been a year since the announcement, and I wonder why no new information has been released about it. The game is great, don’t get me wrong, but it has little to no replay ability, so adding more to the experience like a tv show would bring more people to the game, wouldn’t it? Anyway, the idea of a tv series is wicked awesome, and I hope to hear more about it, even if it remains a fantasy. love y’all’s work, keep on making very fine games
  3. Hello, Since the last update, the game is choppy and lagging so much that it becomes impossible to play and have fun. Every 3 to 5 seconds the video stops, and when you get back to it your character is out of place, so fighting is now a sure death depending on what you are fighting. This is too bad as I was enjoying the game but this is too much. I am noy going to play for a while until someone at Obsidian realized what is going on. It is unacceptable that after an update or a patch nobody at the game center encountered this or bother to test outside the working environment. I removed and updated my video card drivers and adjusted the different settings to stop the lagging. All other games are playing nicely and smoothly. Please fix this so we can enjoy playing the game again.
  4. Which games are you excited to be released and which games do you want to have a new release? Like i want a new Splinter Cell game and im looking forward to Watchdogs Legion
  5. Which game or games which are old or classic do you still play and enjoy to this day and how many hours you have on that game or estimated hours
  6. We have various threads about various online distribution platforms, but a lot of them have gone and dropped far into the forum depth. So as not to practice forbidden dark arts of Threadomancy: Green Man Gaming has a Battle Trhough the Ages deal going. Mentioning it because it has all the Crusader Kings II stuff going 50% off. That is steam keys. Personally I did not really like the game, but a lot of forum regulars here absolutley love it. My own taste in the sale goes more towards the King Arthur games by Neocore: Total War like combat with heroic leaders who advance levels, unlock abilities and become terribly overpowered Add to that chose your own adventure type quests and a very good moral system, that unlocks rewards and options based on a character's position on a two axis chart: morality (rightful - tyrant) and religion (christianity - old gods). Though I usually end up a rightful pagan. Also at a 50% discount are Blackguard (which I am tempted to get) and some other stuff like Fallen Enchantress. On Steam itself Bloodline is going really cheap as the deal of the day. I just don't know how easily that is installed?
  7. Steam Uplay GOG As always, please send a PM PS Please don't ask if I have something not listed here
  8. So, I've been wanting to become a writer for a long while now and ever since I've begun to play RPGs as a kid, I've been wondering how one goes about getting a job as a newbie writer in the games industry. I mean, proving one's skill should be obvious, but how does one go about it with no prior employment in the field? Where would I even begin, since I have yet to find a job posting that doesn't require prior experience. Granted, I still have some time to go due to my studies and I definitely would want to get more practice in, but the curiosity still remains. I also heard sometimes accomplished novelists are drafted to help with the creative writing process and other times, writers are brought in fairly late in the development process. If possible, I'd love to hear people's experiences and maybe a tip or two to get started after I finally get my Bachelor's. Love, Linarahn
  9. Start old Good Old Thread End of Good Old Thread We need some good games to get older fast so GoG can get them...
  10. So, I think we can safely assume Phase I looked like this: Broken Age Pillars of Eternity Shadowrun Star Citizen Wasteland 2 Torment: Tides of Numenera Phase II so far: Underworld Ascendant The Bard's Tale Any I'm missing? Will Phase II look like a bunch of sequels and/or Kickstarter Sequels?
  11. My other PoE. (Or as I like to call it, Path of Exile: Forsaken Masturbators. For if you are in sexile, you are by definition a forsaken...never mind.) Currently playing a Reave tank Ranger with 75% block, 40% dodge, and just over 50% Evade (need much more!), She is impossible to hit in melee but high spell damage just wipes her out. Can't get enough of the new crafting masters--mods rule! A great way to fill in the gaps left by random drops. Finally unlocked the map artisan! I prefer PoE to Diablo 3, but to be fair I haven't tried the expansion + patch for D3. As long as D3 remains "freespec" without any sense of permanence, it will always look like the shallower game to me. PS - I bought a bear pet. It lives in my hideout and my wife loves it. They need more "cute" pets.
  12. Previous thread. Last posts: Been playing it as well. I know folks are all about Watch Dogs right now, but SR4 is just on a different level from all the other sandbox games. I've tried going back to it a couple of times, but I feel it's a regression from the previous game in almost every way. It starts off well enough but once the superpowers came in, the gameplay completely fell apart. In the end I think I'd rather play SR3 over than play SR4. Identifying a couple of the bigger complaints I guess - the almost complete loss of visibility and positional sense during fights due to the super sprinting ability (and the expectation that it be used), and the platforming bits, notably tower climbing. I liked it, but I'll have to agree with Humanoid - the powers basically took some of the fun out of the game. I loved customizing bikes, cars etc, but they were beyond redundant. It was a very succesful jab at Infamous, The Matrix and Prototype and I thoroughly enjoyed it for that, but gameplay wise it suffered compared to SR3. - And back to playing Distant Worlds, reloaded before the pirates raped me and managed to take them out by being patient and letting them attack outlying mining facilities. As they tried to raid my world, my heavy armed fleets were ready. As they didn't have to move this time, the pirates were decimated (quite literally as about 1/10 survived).
  13. Old thread here. I enjoyed Lords of Magic. though factions and heroes were totally unbalanced. An an Air Rogue the game was a breeze (doh stupid puns write themselves). As a Fire Warrior not so much. The game came witha pretty neat Map Editor though. If the internet had been more widespread back then, allowing for larger communities , easier hosting, upload and download, you probably would have seen a lot more user-made content for the game. This is the problem I have with Total War games. My 300 against their 1500...I lose 10-20 guys and the enemy loses 1200-1300. The AI is always stupid in that it tends to rush ahead with its cavalry if it has great superiority, which leads to me quickly trying to take out said cavalry, which then leads to me picking off their ranged units with my cavalry with only lines of infantry to weave through...which then typically leads to me charging one unit of infantry from two opposing sides, causing them to rout, and then again for another unit or two, which subsequently causes a mass rout. I always build my stacks with Cavalry in mind, and tend to win every battle and always feel like I'm cheating. "Pretend inferiority and encourage his arrogance." -Sun Tzu, the Art of War
  14. Last thread here. Some of the last posts. The campaign is a tutorial, so it may prevent you from doing things before it wants you to do them That said, even after the campaign, things are population locked. For example you can't build a coal mine until you have employees, even though as a tycoon, your coal power plant would benefit from them. So you'll have to make do with excavators until then. Got started on the second mission of Global Distrust myself. Nightmare event...
  15. Start of old thread End of old thread Old thread ran out of Steam (pun intended)... Current subject was Steam trading cards. Never heard of them
  16. Hi all, I'm glad to have joined theese forums, looking forward to PE, and i just wanted to say, i always dreamt of beeing part of making a game. It never really happened, but i got no regrets. Here is my story... When i was younger i wanted to be a writer, but my massive interest in roleplaying made me make adventures for my friends in stead. Then we played a lot of Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale. Then i started making music, and couldn't decide a career path. I should have gotten into the business back then. But as i live in Denmark, there was really no options to get educated as a gamedeveloper, the market here is too little for that. My dreams kind of shattered. I got older made a lot of music, i got kids and thought, what the hell, it was just a dream, it would have never worked out for me. Then NWN came out, i thought wouw a toolset, let metry this. Got new hope i guess. Time to make a game. I did get to make games. I made a few modules for my kids to play. They loved it. It educated them to learn to read better (and to think for themselves). And kill the bad evil monsters all around them just like in real life. Now here i am, thinking how different my life could have been, had i been a little wiser in my younger days. I am no expert in anything beeing a self-learner. I COULD have been. I am very good allround, as long as things don't get too complicated. I have done stuff like translating, music, 3D, and even storytelling (and programming in Aurora - i was using a script generator, and never wrote much code, but i learned how the basic scripting workes). So what i am really trying to say, is that i am happy things played out this way. As long as i know that I COULD HAVE been a game maker. And for all the bright people out there, that got cought by the headline, my advise is: Follow your dreams where ever they take you. I chose this different path, as it was destined long ago. Now im a happy amatour, making my stories come to life. - Now that's a happy ending, right ? (thought this 'smiley' was the cutest) And sorry for my spelling Hope the mods can move this if it's in the wrong subforum
  17. Like above vote and tell us what mechanics and Which game do you hope Project Eternity is most like?
  18. First of all i would, as i am sure all others here would concede to doing, thank the Team at Obsidian for going on this fruitful journey of resurrecting the crpg genre, spearheading it along with inXile, and more than likely even more projects inspired by your success. But in this thread i would like to point out a particular individual and by extent the remnants of a once great developer. Tim Cain and Troika. I am a Norwegian, and unsurprisingly we play games. A lot of them. There arent a lot of us though, i think we just hit 5 million a year or so ago. Because of this, our gaming communities are small and densely populated, spread over a few sites. The biggest of them, having won the national gaming-medium award every time since it was thought up, namely Gamer.no, put up through January 2010 polls that would determine the 100 greatest games released over the last decade. "Why are you telling me about this" some of you might ask. Well, Vampire: Bloodlines has been one of my definite favorites. I rarely replay games but found myself just recently having gone through it for the sixth time. The first two times i got hit by the Dr. Johansen boat bug (i appreciate the attention and the irony of this) so that's how far i got until the third run-through, spurred by finding a fix through google. Bugs aside, the game was mind-blowingly good. For a long time, i thought i shared this knowledge with only a few enlightened individuals. So Bloodlines, landing on 8'th place, beating not only AAA titles like TES: Oblivion, Fallout 3, Battlefield 2 but also Deus Ex, was a pleasant surprise. Hearing this and knowing that some developers were essentially working for free the last few weeks i felt i wanted to share our appreciation with the team behind this classic. But with Troika gone, i found no way of contacting any former employees. But Project Eternity has along with its many other fruits, given me an opportunity to do this. So to Tim Cain and Troika, from the land of the midnight sun and brown cheese, Thank you. http://www.gamer.no/...ste-spill-10-1/
  19. Obsidian is going to open its own store. I think this deserves its own topic. Here are comments from Kickstarter page: I'm really glad they are working on their own trading place. Sometimes it is hard to find Obsidian games - especially box version. It is even harder to find a site providing delivery without country restrictions.
  20. Greetings, i have a school project regaring my education and have some questions for you, i would appreciate it if you would take just a few minutes to think about and answer these 3 short questions if you have an opinion about it. Thank you Why do you think people play computer games? What can you learn by playing computer games? Why make computer games? ps. Im very sorry if i posted this the wrong spot, if so, could someone direct me to where i should post it?
