  1. Currently doing a playthrough on version 5.0.0.0040 (GOG). Noticed that Edér's reputation log stops showing status changes after a dialogue in The Endless Queries. More specifically, telling inquisitor Naxiva "I reject your authority!..." seems to freeze the log. Any reactions Edér has during conversations from that point onward are not recorded. Thus, since there is no UI tracking it is hard to tell if Edér's attitude towards the PC actually changes or not.
  2. Hello. I'd like to verify my access to the DLC. It looks like I might have either been given access to DLC I shouldn't have, or I am missing DLC I should have. I'm not sure which is which. I backed on Fig as the COMPLETE PILLARS BUNDLE, which gave me the first game plus DLC (I'm still working my way through that). GoG gave me an offer of a discount on the Season Pass for Deadfire. I had a look at it, and it appears that I already have access to the Beast of Winter and The Forgotten Sanctum. To verify this, I installed Deadfire and I have four of the five icons highlighted on the bottom left of the main menu. Seeker, Slayer, Survivor is not installed. I'm not sure, but if I have the other two DLC, I'd expect I had access to the season pass. In which case, I thought Seeker, Slayer, Survivor was part of that. If I am NOT supposed to have access to the season pass, then it appears that I have Beast of Winter and The Forgotten Sanctum when I probably should not. Can someone please look into whether I am meant to have access to Beast of Winter and The Forgotten Sanctum. Then let me know if I'm meant to have access to Seeker, Slayer, Survivor or if access to the other two will be revoked. Thank you. My Fig account is connected to a different address. Your system wouldn't let me put this address at the top of this form because it says it's already in use by another member (which is me, so it's a very strange message - My forum account is glitching).
  3. Hey there, are there any new informations about the little but nasty problem concerning that nifty Scavenger Hunt and GOG.com users? I know that there was an older comment from a few weeks ago but since then there was silence. Just asking because the game launch is tomorrow and comming from fig I chose the GOG key over the Steam key some time ago....
  4. sorry i can't find if this was posted way back... i've downloaded the GoG patcher v1.1.0.0035_Release_v1_(21316)_to_Release-64_(21647) and when i run it, i can't manually patch my version of the game (i'm trying to update to 1.2.0.0028 from 1.1.0.0035 now since i've been busy with work for the last few weeks, i've gotten the other two recent patchers) says "Some errors occurred, see patch_log.txt for details" i have attached the patch_log fie for reference, what should i do? patch_log.txt does applying the Scalawag dlc prior to updating my game to 1.1.0.0064 have any effect on the patcher (what i did some time ago)?
  5. I keep getting a crash to desktop when trying to rescue Boha or whatever he's called from the old city, I can take the lift and get the option to remain in the Gullet or go down, but when chosing to go down it crashes while loading the map. Pillars of Eternity II Deadfire.zip
  6. Cannot printscreen in Gog version..... if I use F12 , it doesn’t work. If I press “printscreen , then ctrl+v in Paint . It also fail ...... it became a black screen ..... (Windows 10 )
  7. Back when Pillars of Eternity was released on GOG.com there were no upgrade paths to higher tier edition - unlike on Steam. However, we have been promised this: Source: https://www.gog.com/news/release_pillars_of_eternity Well, no such thing was ever introduced. Now there's the new Definitive Edition which includes all extras of the Royal Edition. As I'm a big fan of Obsidian's work and I'm one of those customers who bought one of the lesser editions of the game I would have loved to upgrade to the Royal Edition at some point but we never got those upgrade options. I'm very disappointed that this situation hasn't changed with the new Definitive Edition. Again GOG users cannot upgrade to a better version of the game without buying a full version of the game again. It's pissing some people off over at GOG and I think rightfully so. Obsidian, can you get in touch with GOG staff and work something out? This situation creates more frustration than it should be. Edit: I'm not the only one who feels this way, just take a look at the PoE DE release thread at GOG.com: https://www.gog.com/forum/general/release_pillars_of_eternity_definitive_edition_63164/page1
  8. Now that the game is available on Steam, does anyone know of any plans to release it on GoG as well? Would be interested in using this more customer friendly platform (aka. I'm interested in owning the game I bought). Thanks
  9. I hope this is the right subforum to ask this? I am unsure which is the best platform to take PoE from... Would prefer the hardcopy version, but apparently producers/developers and modders alike don't like DVDs that much anymore (my BG:EE dvd can't get an update past 1.xx for example, and some mods for Planescape have a hard time working with the DVD version). So I wonder whether the hardcopy version has some kind of disadvantage over Steam or GoG and vice versa. Like updates or version-unique bugs etc. Thank you for upcoming info ^^
  10. Hello fellow GNU/Linux GOGers! As you most probably know GOG does now provide patches for Linux games. Which is great, they’re quick to download and easy to apply so you might think it would be the end of my work on unofficial patches. At least that’s what I thought… As you most probably noticed, especially if you have a poor Internet access, GOG does *not* provide patches for The White March, Part 1, and you’re stuck downloading the whole ~2.8 GiB each time it gets updated. Well, you don’t need to do it anymore Like I did previously with the base game, I’m now building patches for its extension, and I’ll keep doing it until GOG takes care of this themselves. So you just need to go to the following page for download links and instructions: unofficial patches for Pillars of Eternity Your feedback is welcome here, as well as your thanks, calls for help, reminders I’m late for a patch, etc. I hope your bandwidth will like the work I put into these patches
  11. I prepurchased the Champion Edition on GOG.com with the understanding that there would be upgrade options at a later time to the higher tiered editions. Nearly a year later the promised upgrade options are still not available despite availability on Steam. My intention was to buy the game, and a month or so later to buy the Royal upgrade. But that has not materialized yet and my question is: What gives? Why are you keeping money out of your own pocket? I am not the only person on GOG.com who wanted to upgrade their purchase, was told it would be an option, and then got stuck waiting. I'm not spending another $60 (Champion Edition) or $90 (Royal Edition) for a game I already paid $45 for. So What gives? If I read it right, Steam has the upgrade pack options, so why screw over the GOG crowd? Is it because we are fewer in number? I don't understand the mentality. Is it too hard to release upgrade options (for out of game goodies at that) for a game on the GOG platform? What is going on here? Thanks for your time.
  12. Update by Josh Sawyer, Project Director and Brandon Adler, Lead Producer Hey, everyone. After two and a half years, we're happy that you're finally going be able to get your hands on Pillars of Eternity. It's been a great pleasure to work on a traditional PC RPG again and it wouldn't have been possible without your interest, support, and feedback. We hope that playing Pillars of Eternity gives you the same feelings you had when you played the Infinity Engine games. Many of you have told us how much these games have meant to you over the years. It's always been our goal to recapture that experience as well as we can. We've worked hard to provide you with a beautiful world to explore, flexible systems that allow you to build all the characters and parties you can dream up, and a rich story that responds to the choices you make. Nothing can replace the Infinity Engine games, but we hope Pillars of Eternity is a worthy successor to that heritage. Thank you again for all you have done. -Josh Sawyer Kickstarter Tiers and Special Editions Due to popular demand we have created special Kickstarter Backer editions on both Steam and GOG. These editions match the retail versions of the Hero, Champion, and Royal editions, but they come with a few extra Kickstarter goodies. When you go onto your Products page on the Backer Portal you will see which Kickstarter edition was granted to your Kickstarter tier. This was done so that people could download their rewards in multiple places. Unfortunately, we were unable to map every tier perfectly. We have many tiers, many different combinations of add-ons, and only a few Kickstarter editions. Don't worry, though, because if your Kickstarter edition doesn't come with a reward you should be getting for your Kickstarter tier you can download it from the Backer Portal. In fact, the Backer Portal is the official way to download your rewards - we will always have them available for you on the Portal. If you would like to see what products come with your Backer tier you can find that information by going to your Orders page on the Backer Portal. If you expand your order you can click on the "What does this include?" link to see all of your rewards associated with the order. Steps to Redeem Your Items All of the steps outlined below have assumed that you have set up your account and confirmed your pledge. If you have questions about confirming your pledge, please read through our previous update on how to do so. If you follow these steps below, you will able to redeem your rewards: Head to the Backer Portal and go to your My Products page. Each entry on the Products tab is a reward that you can redeem. Depending on your tier you may have many different types of products to redeem. Let's start with redeeming a game code for your platform of choice. First step in redeeming the key to your copy of the game is to click on the game's entry to expand it. Once expanded click on the "Choose Platform" button to bring up a menu where you can select your preferred platform. We offer the choice between Steam and GOG. Once you have selected your platform you can press "Generate Key" to create a download key. Note that once you have generated a key for a platform it may not be changed in the future. Choose wisely. After your game key is generated you will be given instructions on how to redeem the key in your platform of choice. If you are redeeming a different type of reward, a PDF of the Campaign Almanac, for example, the process is the same. Expand the product entry and click the button to download the reward. And that's it. Using the processes described above you will be able to generate game keys and download all of your available rewards. As more rewards are finished, like the documentary, they will appear on your list of rewards to redeem. You may download your rewards as much as you like, but there is a short time limit on each link that is generated by the Backer Portal. If you are attempting to download from an old link, it is best to generate a new one by going through the process above. Documentary and Novella As most of you know we will be releasing the documentary and the novella after we release the game. For the documentary, this was to ensure that you could view the full journey of Pillars' creation - including the release of the game and launch party, and for the novella, that it is done at the highest quality for Backers. Both of these items will not be available on the Backer Portal initially, but once they are released you will be able to download them like any other reward. Printed Rewards If you are not getting the printed Strategy Guide and Collector's Book, but you would like one, you still have a chance to purchase them. Dark Horse - Collector's Guide We partnered with Dark Horse to bring you the Pillars of Eternity Collector's Book. Where the Prima Strategy Guide will be your go-to companion for all your walkthrough and strategy needs, the Collector's Book is there to satisfy the most hardcore lore enthusiasts. Whether your pledge included a physical copy or a digital copy, the Collector's Book is something we're sure you'll be happy with. We're very proud of it and we think Dark Horse did an amazing job bringing it to life. The content of the book covers everything you would want to know about the world of Eora. Among the many informative chapters, you'll find detailed information on the people and gods, as well as the history of the Eastern Reach and recent events. There's even a detailed bestiary explaining the origins and habits of Eora's creatures. It's available for order from a variety of online retailers including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Random House. Prima Games - Collector's Edition Strategy Guide We've been hard at work collaborating with Prima Games on the strategy guide for Pillars of Eternity. The folks over at Prima Games are not only working on creating the awesome Digital Guide for you Backers, but will also be releasing a beautifully printed copy of the guide. Pillars of Eternity is a big RPG, and Prima Games is working to make sure that every inch of our huge game world is covered. The guide will include: Main Quest: A comprehensive walkthrough of the main story. Side Quests and Tasks: An easy reference to all side quests. Atlas: Maps for all critical locations in the vast world of Eora. Training: How to create a character and expertly assign points to attributes and skills. Achievements, Secrets, and exclusive bonuses. The guide will also feature a Thank You section. If you pledged at a tier that included getting your name in the game's credits, you'll also find yourself featured here! As an added plus, all physical copies of the guide will include an access code for a free digital guide, viewable on any connected device. If you missed out on pledging for the strategy guide, the Collector's Edition Guide is a great option for getting all the tips and tricks you'll need for your journey through Eora. To grab your copy of the Collector's Edition Strategy Guide head here. That's it, everyone. We really appreciate everything you have done for us. Now go redeem your game keys and be prepared to get sucked into Pillars of Eternity.
  13. I have Gog version of the vanilla game. ( Pillars of Eternity - Kickstarter Champion Edition) I recently re-installed it and figured it'd be time to get the two expansions. Clicked Buy expansions via the game client and proceeded to do just that. To my shock horror, I realize I had just bought Steam Keys for my GoG version. I realize this is a lapse from my part, should have been more careful. It didn't occur to me that store used would be so relevant here. That said, I don't consider it overly awesome how my Gog- version of game links to Paradox- store that sells Steam-only codes. There is a bit of a should-not-be present in that chain I say. Anyone have any suggestions? Recon there is something I, or Obsidian Customer Support, or Paradox can do to help me out here?
  14. Description: I just updated my GOG version to 3.01 (primarily to fix the "Marshall won't give me the offer to hire mercenaries for 10000cp" bug) Now, I cannot load any saved games I get a windows crash screen, offering me to close the program, search online for fix and close, or debug The second two do nothing more than the first e.g. closing the program I looked at the log, it said that 'sharedassets164.assets' is corrupted, so I downloaded the GOG corrupted saved games hotfix, to overwrite sharedassets164.assets Same problem Steps to Reproduce the Issue: Load any savegame Important Files: Link to dropbox - https://www.dropbox.com/s/8xnn3ujd73jd9iv/crash.zip?dl=0 Savegames In the zip file Output Log This seems to be the problem The file 'C:/GOG Games/Pillars of Eternity/PillarsOfEternity_Data/sharedassets164.assets' is corrupted! Remove it and launch unity again! Rest of the output log is in the zip file System Specs In the zip file Screenshots
  15. After installing the latest Pillars of Eternity (PoE) verion 2.03 [Windows installer, NOT GoG Galaxy!], I have been getting the following error on launch. ***** Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library ------------------------------------------------ Runtime Error! Program: This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an ususual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information. ***** I have tried to resolve this issue and found the following: By uninstalling Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistibutable, both (x64) and (x86), I can get PoE to work. It starts and runs fine. When reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistibutable (needed for other games) the Runtime Error will reoccur without fail. I will also contact GoG.com support with this problem. Attached are the 'output_log' and the 'DxDiag'. Thank you for your help. output_log.txt DxDiag.txt
  16. I'm trying to patch from 1.0.6 up to 2.0 and when I just run the script (pillars_of_eternity_patch_2.5.6.9.sh) it asks for a directory. So that's fine, but whatever directory I give it I get an error: ERROR: Folder doesn't contain any game The game is in "/home/me/Pillars of Eternity" and I've tried that and "/home/me/Pillars of Eternity/game" and just "/home/me". Same thing every time. So I tried just extracting the patch myself, but it isn't obvious to me what to do with it. There's a script there called patch_it.sh, which doesn't seem to do anything when I run it. At any rate, any help would be appreciated.
  17. Hi, on GOG I see there's a 2.01 patch for White March (175 MB) and a 2.01 patch for the base game (77 MB). Which do we use? I have White March, so do I just installed the 175MB White March one? Or do I need to install both?
  18. Hello fellow Debianists, Ubunteros and Mint fanatics! I’m here to present you a way to convert the .tar.gz archive sold by GOG.com into .deb packages that can be natively installed on your distribution throught tools like DPKG, and removed through APT (synaptic, apt-get, aptitude, etc.). The building process is done through a shell script that should work "out-of-the-box" on any Debian-based distribution. So, here are the scripts: version 1.06, GOG release 1.4.0.6, French version: http://www.dotslashplay.it/scripts/fr/play-pillars-of-eternity_gog-1.4.0.6.sh version 1.06, GOG release 1.4.0.6, English version: http://www.dotslashplay.it/scripts/en/play-pillars-of-eternity_gog-1.4.0.6.sh (updated on 2015-06-04) old versions of the scripts are kept online in case you need them (if you want to convert an old archive): French versions: http://www.dotslashplay.it/scripts/fr/ English versions: http://www.dotslashplay.it/scripts/en/ Choose the one corresponding to your version of the game, the language is just the language used by the script, and has no effect on your game language. Now, how to use it? 1. Download the script, and place it in the same directory than the game archive (gog_pillars_of_eternity_1.4.0.6.tar.gz). If you own some GOG DLC (gog_pillars_of_eternity_dlc1_1.0.0.1.tar.gz, gog_pillars_of_eternity_dlc2_1.0.0.1.tar.gz and/or gog_pillars_of_eternity_dlc3_1.0.0.1.tar.gz), put them in the same directory; 2. Run the script via sh: sh ./play-pillars-of-eternity_gog-1.4.0.6.sh3. Everything beside this point is automated. Just wait a dozen minutes, and the script will end by giving you the command to run as root to install the freshly built .deb packages. 4. Enjoy the rebirth of old-school RPG on your favourite GNU/Linux distribution! ----- Feedback of all kind is welcome here, positive as well as negative, feature requests will be listened to and worked on as much as possible. ----- Advanced usage
  19. Start old Good Old Thread End of Good Old Thread We need some good games to get older fast so GoG can get them...
  20. Hello fellow Linux GOGlodytes! As you already know, GOG doesn’t provide patches for their Linux games, so you’re stuck downloading the whole game archive again each time it is updated. It might be problematic if you are behind a slow connection or a capped bandwidth. But an alternative exists: I build custom patches allowing you to patch the GOG-provided Linux version of Pillars of Eternity, bypassing the need for the re-download of the whole game. If you’re interested, you can find them on the GOG forums: https://www.gog.com/forum/pillars_of_eternity/linux_unofficial_patches Please report any bug you might encounter here, and I’ll eradicate it.
  21. Hey, folks. There had been some conversation and questions about whether the backers were going to be able to download the Hero, Champion, or Royal tiers on Steam and GOG. We are currently setting things up in a way that backers will be able to get special versions of those tiers. Since not every tier maps exactly to one of those special editions, it might be a little off. Don't worry, though. If the special edition your tier is mapped to does not come with one of your rewards you can still download it on the Backer Portal as normal. You will always be able to download all of your rewards on the Backer Portal. Just repeating myself so it is clear, if you have backed a reward you will be able to download it from the Backer Portal once we release the reward. Here is the current breakdown of tiers and what SKU they map to on Steam/GOG: Product Name - Pledge - SKU Mapping Show of Support - $5.00 - N/A Early Backer: Just the Game - $20.00 - Hero Edition Digital: Just the Game! - $25.00 - Hero Edition Slacker Backer - $29.00 - Hero Edition Digital Pack: Soundtrack, Collector Book, Behind the Scenes - $35.00 - Hero Edition Digital Fun Pack - $50.00 - Champion Edition Retail Pack - $65.00 - Champion Edition Digital Pack + Strategy Guide + Extra Download - $80.00 - Royal Edition Retail Pack with T-Shirt - $100.00 - Royal Edition Digital Collector's Edition - $110.00 - Royal Edition Retail Collector's Edition - $140.00 - Royal Edition Digital Collector's Edition w/Wasteland 2 + Expansion - $165.00 - Royal Edition Signed Retail Collector's Edition - $250.00 - Royal Edition AMD Loot Bag (US ONLY) - $350.00 - Royal Edition Complete Kickstarter Obsidian Pack - $500.00 - Royal Edition Custom Troll Portrait from Chris Avellone! - $750.00 - Royal Edition Complete Kickstarter Pack + NPC Design - $1,000.00 - Royal Edition Complete Kickstarter Pack + Epic Item Design - $1,000.00 - Royal Edition Complete Kickstarter Pack + Custom Portrait - $3,000.00 - Royal Edition Complete Kickstarter Pack + Adventure Company Design - $5,000.00 - Royal Edition Complete Kickstarter Pack + Inn/Tavern Design - $5,000.00 - Royal Edition Ultimate Kickstarter Watcher Pledge Pack - $10,000.00 - Royal Edition
  22. Sorry if this is a total noob question, but its been a long time since I played a modern PC game (still playing IWD / NWN). I have never used Steam, and just recently learned about GoG. So my quesitons are: Where is the best place to get PoE? What is the best "edition" of PoE to get? And can you get PoE at a retail store in Canada (and thus get a physical copy)? I would like to get a strategy guide for the game. Thanks, N.
  23. [bug description] Hello, I have the GOG version of PoE, after installing the GOG patch 1.0.3.530 I encountered a bug: I can't open any container in game. Combat loot containers, normal containers and hidden containers too are broken, I can hear the opening sound but no container GUI menù appears so I can't pick up any object inside them. Loading a previous savegame doesn't solve anything; loading a savegame created from a previous PoE build doesn't solve anything. [steps to reproduce it] - Install the GOG version of PoE (first build, non patched); - Start a game; - Verify that you can open containers like chests, corpse loot containers, hidden containers; - Save the game; - Patch PoE with GOG 1.0.3.530 patch; - Load the game; - Verify that you can't open containers anymore, seeing no container GUI menù to appear. [Expected behavior] Containers should open as it was like in the previous PoE build. [PC specs] - OS - Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1 - CPU - AMD FX-9370 - RAM - 8GB DDR3@1600MHz - GPU - Gygabyte AMD Radeon HD 7860 [savegames] BeforePatch_1_0_3_530.zip This is from April 5th, 2015, Eothas Temple; AfterPatch_1_0_3_530.zip This is from today April 8th, 2015, in the Bear Cave. [output_log] output_log.txt EDIT: [possible workaround, post here if this works or not] - Close PoE; - Restart PoE; - Load a savegame. Verify if you are able to open containers again, if yes, problem "solved". ATM I don't know if the issue might reoccur.
  24. Steam might be the only one to give preload, but GoG gives DRM free version without the client hog, so different people might prefer different things ... what would YOU pick in the upcoming days ? )
  25. I backed the game for 65$ and then bought the backer beta back when it came out, now however my product page only lets me see the beta key and nothing else even though my kickstarter pledge is listed as confirmed under orders. I've emailed support but no response as of yet. Thanks in advance.
