First, Boeroer is always right and he knows many many many more facts about PoE1 than me , second I've experience on PoTd almost exclusively in SOLO and third, thinking in deep about these two classes, Rogue give the best indeed in SOLO, while Ranger is a better addition in a party as he can kill single enemies, can tank with AC support, can also read scrolls with good ACC while AC can tank, do damage or protect the ranger instead a Rogue need complementary support. I'm not convinced the fear-mongering strategy failed; it just wasn't enough. Lower income people got clobbered in the pocketbook by inflation, and no amount of good economic news was going to counter that. The Fed took a year before changing the rate to counter inflation, and as consequence it nearly got out of hand. I think that's why DJT is President. Yes, the entire world went through inflation, but Americans tend to be insular and think locally. Back before the 2020 election I thought some of DJTs policies were inflationary (E.g. massive aid package; tariffs), yet somehow he's escaped blame. That's partly because of poor messaging by the Biden administration, something they've shown over and over they're not good at. The Democrats painted themselves into a corner on the border issue, and they have nobody but themselves to blame. My concern now is with DJT planning to use the military against targets in the US. That definitely wasn't just a US thing. At very least our government got blamed for inflation/ cost of living, the British and the French ones too and all lost elections in large part due to it. Pretty difficult to win elections when most people have had their disposable income cut by half.

I don't remember exactly, but in DA:I were there not some dialogue choices where one may end up clicking the romance option just because all the other options were rude/stupid/ridiculous? I seem to recall feeling 'forced' to click the romance option because clicking any of the others felt like you were being a jerk.

I mean if you generally want to limit resting as much as possible it's only logical to use Wound Binding + Mercy and Kindness. By the way: Infuse with Vital Essence + Mercy and Kindness ist nice for a Wizard who doesn't need wound binding or field triage then. Also works with the potion.

I enjoyed transmog in GuildWars 2 and Old Republic. If you are going to try and get people's money by selling them a "look how you want" or generally spend hundreds of hours with that character, I believe it only makes sense to allow players to enjoy it.

Can't wait to finally play BG3. I'm a bit worried about the gameplay and combat, as tapletop ruleset do not translate well in video games in my opinion, this is just fan service. I much prefer built in system just for that media.

Some people could wear a dirty potato sack and they are still gorgeous. But not many people want to play/roleplay a chr. wearing a potato sack, outside of temporary humor value. I think many think of attractive-wear as something that accentuates the form in an aesthetic way, vs. hiding it. The "problem", if it is one, is that this sometimes seems to translate into "how naked can we make it feel without being technically naked." Which for me is an aesthetically and artistically boring goal. I'm more into the elegance and material flow, re: female game/fantasy clothing. Don't care if it's real-life practical re: combat, it's just aesthetics. Well, unless one is actually making a historically accurate game perhaps. So I will pick outfits/chrs. that appeal to me more in that regard, vs. what I think of as an "ugly" outfit. For male figures - I dunno. I still like elegant or a bit more formal, like robes or more aristocratic styles or certain East Asian influences. For the record, in real life, I would never want to wear any of the fantasy outfits, male or female. They look uncomfortable. T-shirts and sweatpants, that's me. I don't even like real-world dresses. I've had to wear more formal dresses for a few occasions here and there and I hated every second of it. Just me tho. But I still like pretty on game characters. *shrug*

@bugarupI understand the sentiment, but chainmail bikini doesn't look as bikini to me. Based on pictures that were common 10 years go or more, it looked simply like more 'lighter' or revealing chainmail with slips at the right place. Basides, bikini isn't only thing to make character attractive. Look at this Pretty, attractive, but not meat type of attractive.

Attractive is fine, but judging by screenshots and often discourse itself a lot of people equal "attractive woman" with "woman wearing beach/bordello attire when game does not take place in either", meanwhile dudes always dress sensibly. I'm all for equality that goes both directions, so if your game dresses ladies in brothelcore, gimme a dude I can send into battle wearing purple polka dot thong and nipple clamps.

Its worth playing, the War Room has some nice mechanics and there is always something to do I enjoyed the party interaction but I didnt Romance anyone. I tried with Josephine but she is a NPC and it didnt work out anyway despite how I followed the Romance dialogue options

Oh yes, you are right! It's only in Deadfire that Mith Fyr doesn't apply to direct spell damage anymore. Sorry, it's been a long time since I played PoE1. I even found an old post of mine that explains that it works with direct spell damage. I most often preferred Dragon Thrashed though. With a good build you can put 3 instances on enemies - and the DoT does stack. It's just nice that you can deal "passive" damage while there's buffing/casting/running around or even while party members (maybe you most potent damage dealer) might be disabled. Just a pretty big source of damage from a character who otherwise wouldn't deal much damage himself. Mith Fyr is great if you do alpha strikes and high per-hit damage numbers in general. The 25% fire lash has to overcome 1/4 of enemies' burn DR - and unfortunately lashes get no MIN damage if they cannot penetrate. So with a "death by a 1000 cuts" approach (Minor Blights+Blast, Chillfog...) and also DoTs like Combusting Wounds, Plague of Insects and so on it's not that great. Maybe that's why I often pass on it: I like to do all that stuff. With direct damage attacks that hit hard it's indeed very good. It's even better if you have some party members who picked Scion of Flame. They usually can do fire damage by spell/ability/weapon - and that gets boosted by 20%. Add the burning lash which gets boosted from 25% to 30% and uses the 20% higher fire damage as base - very nice! Where Mith Fyr is def. better: if you have a low ACC and/or low MIG Chanter. While that won't influence Mith Fyr at all it transforms the Dragon Thrashed into the Dragon's Trash a bit (although the +12 ACC quirk can help). I wouldn't bother with it then and pick a nice support chant setup (like Mith Fyr + Sure-Handed Ila and later Mercy and Kindness or so). But the cool thing is: with enough INT you can put out Mith Fyr and Dragon Thrashed with complete overlap. And with higher Brisk Recitation scaling you can even have 2 stacks of Dragon Thrashed on the enemy and still use Mith Fyr without a gap. The party's Animal Companion with Predator's Sense sure would love that: unlocking with the fire/slash DoT AND gaining +25% burn damage for the bites:

's not just that, the Arch-Militant's Versatility should only have stacked up when switching between different attacks, but it did for every attack after using Wildfire. Combine that with stacking extra turns through multiple Officers and the busted damage bonus from being adjacent to your characters, and enemies would be in a world of pain really quickly. Every stack of Versatility improved damage and your weapon skill, which in turn made hitting enemies with bursts from across the screen viable. It was so silly that Argenta's best weapon was the autogun with its insane burst attack - but I kept on using the bolter because it was more appropriate.

His polls were scraping bottom at 38.5% approval rating; they flipped back in 2021 (with the withdrawal from Afghanistan) and have never recovered. There was nobody else to step into his place other than Harris, and she and Biden controlled the campaign budget. If there had been more time, maybe Harris could have built more of a coalition. She gave it a good run, given the limited time available.

Bug Report #2 Random item drops tied to days of the month are still broken. Text in character creation and level up menus is nearly unreadable on small screens. There are options in the game to make the font larger, but it doesn't affect these menus. Text displays fine in the rest of the game. Not a bug, but still. This is about the Kickstarter Backer achievement, which is currently impossible to obtain legally. It may have made sense when the game first came out and you wanted to reward the players who backed you. However, instead of rewarding a thousand players, you're punishing hundreds of thousands of players whose only fault is that they started playing after 2015. Because of this, we can't add POE1 to the list or showcase of perfect games, for demonstration. And the funniest thing is that the only ones suffering are steam players, because 87% of players in the epic games store got the achievement. Is there any point in keeping this achievement when it's been 9.5 years since the game came out and the achievement itself doesn't work?

About 35 hours in, felt like writing something. Not sure how long this game is, seems like there's still lots more Overall impression is "kinda ok". Probably wouldn't play this if I wasn't interested in the DA world. Story setup felt interesting, like I said before, but after that it's felt a bit meh. Some of the factions in the game world have been changed, and IMO in a boring way. Can't avoid change, I guess, but the Qunari just feel like basic baddies now and the Crows like a vigilante group. Apparently this mostly relies on stories from non-game DA products, but doesn't save them from being boring choices. Main baddies are boring, hoping they'll shape up by the end. Most of the NPCs are either immediately on your side, or your enemies, without too much in between. Dialogue is the usual Bioware fare of quipping and one-liners. The main difference is there's no massive interrogation trees with important characters anymore, most of dialogue is either in party banter or in specific quests for them. Lots of just text stuff around to flesh out things, like in most RPGs. Exploration is quite parkoury and 3D. There's always things to fiddle with, or loot to get. It's quite smooth overall, but you can spend 30mins trying to reach a chest without figuring it out. But it does feel meaningful, in that what you find ties into the rest of the game fine. Combat grew on me a bit. At the start it felt like I was just dodging 90% of the time, but it feels quite smooth now. I don't play that many games with actiony combat like this, so not sure how other games do it. I'd still prefer the more party based approach of older DA games.

Yes and no. I think Trump's only real belief is that Trump should be in charge (even if only nominally) and should be the center of attention. He's clearly in this to get to do the pomp and circus of politics and not because he actually cares about the border or teh gheystrans or anything else. There is nothing this man would not flip on and he is more than happy to say that everything is incredible, beautiful, never been anything like it, best in the world without actually doing anything. The problem is that Trump isn't alone, he's going to get the worst people to run things for him while he plays. Those folks are either going to not be able to actually do anything out of incompetence (see how Obamacare survived a Trump trifecta) or are going to do some seriously evil **** (like mass deportations or banning unions), likely a combination of both. It's definitely going to be a bad time for everyone who isn't a rich **** and it's certainly true that the Project 2025 people or Libertarian-Fascists (like Peter Theil) are very much not kidding when they tell you what they want. I also think that when certain people downplay stuff like Project 2025 but are also absolutely convinced that BLM/Antifa supersoliders are spreading DEI to cuck the white manspread division should just be considered to broadly agree with stuff like Project 2025/Agenda 47 or understand that it isn't going to really effect them.
