  1. From everything I've found on what happened, the pro-Russian counter-protesters attacked the anti-Russian protesters then things escalated from there with 48 dead (46 pro-Russians). Not saying it's not a tragedy but that's hardly indicative of Ukraine trying to wipe out its Russian population, especially when there were Russians and Ukrainians on both sides of it. The way my in-laws described it was they burned down a building full of Russians just because, when the reports say the fighting ended up there after the anti-Russians rallied and destroyed their camp after the attack. They were shooting and throwing Molotov ****tails at each other and that is supposedly how the fire started, though which side exactly started the fire is debated in the sources I've seen. I don't know what the police were doing this whole time but there were reports they let the initial attacks happen and then just stood by. I'll see if I can find some non-Wiki links but I looked into this last year at some point so the details aren't all fresh in my mind. Also, I don't read Ukrainian or Russian so my wife was translating some of the articles for me, but before she did she was also very much what about that building they burned down, and that stopped immediately after she started looking into it, not that she ever thought the war was justified.

  2. As I hinted at earlier, the best part of the new main story, compared to other Bethesda games, is the lack artificial urgency or emotional attachment put into it. No rescuing a family member or stopping gates of Oblivion. There are no giants yelling at you to come visit them on a mountaintop. It's a pretty chill exploration vibe. Build a big base, customize a cool ship, and scan some plants.

  5. While I would agree that Bendera was nazi or nazi symphatizer and is still venerated as hero for many Ukraine people he kinda was hero for fighting against bolsheviks. Now that I don't agree with horrors he did but the reason why people still like him is kinda understandable especially after decades of commie brutalism Ukraine recieved including pogroms and famine. Also I don't think they are somehow extremely represented by Ukraine government. Anyway this whole debate is moot. Everyone with 2 braincells knows Russia didn't invaded because there are nazis in Ukraine.

  6. If going to moon was as easy as jumping into a car and picking a parking slot from UI, no one would care to go to the moon. Getting to the moon is the interesting part, and I don't think you will see people complain that planets are empty in Kerbal Space Program.

  7. And as an exchange, USA and Russia has agreed to guarantee the 1991 borders. And as always, to no ones suprise (with the exception of western left wing), Putin shat all over any agreement it has ever signed

  8. I'm not sure why people are surprised by this. There are quite a few main planets that are busy and full of life, but the idea that they were going to populate 1000 planets doesn't even fit into the setting. I've been to about 5 planets so far, and they've all been pretty interesting. But I'm also following the story and quests. If I wander aimlessly, then yeah, I'll probably find a bunch of boring caves.

  9. USA CZ (apparently - hard to say) UK Nazi in Russia - Mongolian Nazis Are those all nazi states? Or are they all support nazis? Because that would mean Russia have a lot of work ahead of them (maybe after they murder half of their own population first)

  10. I went to a shadowy ****hole, saved some harpers, saved some harpers again, led an ambush where I saved harpers a third time, and "infiltrated" the evil cult base by walking in the front door. Thots -Swords Bard is too good. He's close to or even beats the three martials in terms of damage, has some great cc and utility spells, and is able to pass most checks with Guidance. The result of this is that I end up burning through all the companions' resources while my main still has most of his slots. -I like the design of the shadow cursed lands, it's very creepy and dark in a way that let's you forget it's in eternal afternoon. -I think I've got the Dark Urge figured out, thanks to some encounters (spoilers and speculation ahoy)

  12. Did more Armored Core 6. Looks like it suffers a bit from the same issue that Bloodborne had. Some fights are impossibly hard, while many of the other fights are super easy. Was stuck at the Sea Spider for a whole day until I finally managed to take that bitch down. Everything after that now was almost a cakewalk in comparison. Not sure if it's because the Sea Spider made me git gud, or if it's just a general balance issue. In any case, my go to strategy right now is to double-gatling into everyone's faces + missile spam whenever possible. The double gatlings don't have much ammo, but they are melting almost everything if I manage to hit. And most enemies don't seem to like it if I stay close to them -- so that's what I'm doing, just hugging them as much as possible. Some enemies are too fast, and they are dodging away from my hail of bullets, in which case I jump up and go into hover mode (tetrapod legs for the win), and splatter them from top-down. Ez.

  13. Can you be a little more specific please, because I can't quite remember anything of that sort either on February 2014 or 2022. And speaking of setting fire to a building full of Russian civilians - 19 years and 2 days ago there happened Beslan school siege, where russian army set a building full of Russian mostly small civilians on fire to demonstrate the world that russia stronk!!! and can one-up terrorists without anyone's help. Unfortunately, that horror did not make russia to declare war on itself.

  15. I found a nice planet to start building a habitat. I just chose a random place to land. Then I stumbled upon a deserted Merc base that wasn't as deserted as advertised nearby. The randomization is pretty well done from what I can tell. I'd put it a notch above the genericness of No Man's Sky. I imagine it will get repetitive if all I do is randomly explore, but there is also a lot of main hubs that are handcrafted, so I doubt it will be an issue. Building bases is nice, definitely better than Fallout 4. I assume I can assign some of these groupies I have to stay there, instead of crowding my ship.

  17. Never crossed my mind. I'm not a cat person but I never want to see any animals neglected or suffering. This was obviously someone's cat and we were just afraid that it got out rather than it had an owner that didn't care or know the dangers. We don't really have strays around here because the traffic, animal control, or predators get them.

  19. I mean there being anti-Russian protests in the first place does not paint a good picture. I also find it convenient that the pro-Russian attacked first and subsequently all died. I've seen this exact thing happen before, I have absolutely no trust in the news sources from any side and can see that this war was planned and pushed for. On the one hand I hope it blows up in the face of the forces behind it, but on the other hand I do not because that would be a shortcut to disaster.

  20. Hello and welcome! Those are absolutely fine. They would be fine even for higher difficulties. The changes that were made with 5.0 etc. didn't invalidate normal/reasonable character- and companion builds. Maybe some powergamey stuff took a hit, but usually what was viable before still is viable now - when it comes to a full party and so on. Solo playthroughs on PotD difficulty or even Ultimate challenge etc. which require special tricks are another story.

  21. Alright, just finished AC6. As I suspected, the Sea Spider was the hardest boss in the game. Had to repeat a few of the later boss fights a few times as well, but not as extreme. Most of them I did in 2 or 3 attempts, only robot Malenia took me something around 10 maybe. All in all a good game, despite some annoyances. Kinda tempted to try NG+ now. Especially since I don't like the ending that I got. Oh, and since this is one of the few From Software games that I was actually able to completely finish, I'm guessing it's one of their easier titles.

  22. I mean, that's every Bethesda game, isn't it? You get a mediocre at best main quest but there are usually some really fun side quests, for example some Daedric quests in TES.

  23. I've been pretty critical of starfield. However, I gave up on the main quest and started doing some faction quests, and they are a lot more interesting. Still early but it seems as though there are actually some interesting choices in dealing with quests... but that main quest is dreadful (some people like it)

  25. Same here. I'm currently working on a project that has something to do with the whole conflict, but not this one particular incident, and there's this damned thing that surrounds so many things around the area right now: there tend to be narratives that are so different from one another that they are apt to confuse the observer. It's really frustrating. I mean, it's not possible that all the Russian stories are false/true and all the Ukrainian stories true/false, but separating the facts from the embellishments and the outright propaganda and lies can be really tricky. It's a real mess.

  26. The season is almost upon us. As is my custom, I have been ignoring the NFL as much as possible since the draft. I haven't watched a single second of preseason (why would I?) and the only move muh Boys made during the offseason that I'm aware of was getting Trey Lance. Sucks for the Niners given all they spent to get the guy and what they got in return was 4 starts in 2 years and now a 4th round pick. Good get for muh Boys, though, given that it cost us almost nothing and there's still a chance he could wind up being good, we have so little data on him. If nothing else, he could be a trade asset in the future. Anyway, I've been through this before, I know how this is going to go. I'm going to start out by writing that I'm tempering my expectations, and I am. Muh Boys will hopefully win week 1 against the Giants because we're definitely losing week 2 to the Jets; if there's one thing you can always count on it's Ayahuasca Enthusiast Aaron Rodgers beating the Cowboys. After that muh Boys will play well enough to sucker me into believing just so that they can immediately exit the playoffs in excruciating gut punch fashion. Cowboys football, get the sensation!

  27. I drank a potion in the Underdark and it messed with the tadpole. No more avoiding it, I'm afraid. The dream guardian finally appeared and now won't shut up about using these powers. Don't trust this person. After many "failed" attempts at avoiding combat (I pass skill checks, but then ask about slavery or something else, starting a fight), Shadowheart asked me to stop with the violence, but then I met the first enemies that actually wouldn't let me pass. I refused to give them gold and another massacre begun.

  31. Possibly, but what I would like to see, now, is a cogent and well-rounded argument from Sarex as to why Ukraine is not innocent in this war. What, perhaps, are some of the grounds that justify Russia's attack. In concrete terms and not in metaphors; and if the building that was set on fire was not a metaphor, then I'd like to know what that was about. Ukraine, as a country, is probably much farther away from EU membership than Serbia and some other countries that have wanted to join, and it carries an awful lot of bad baggage from the Soviet era. Zelenski himself has some fairly shady stuff in his past, and so on. But none of that would in any way justify an invasion whose intention is to obliterate a sovereign nation. (Btw, isn't Ukraine the only country so far that has voluntarily given up its nuclear weapons? I think it is. What an awful precedent that one is.)

  35. Went for a walk and we were approached by a cat that seemed like it needed help and started following us. Knocked on a couple of doors and apparently the owner just lets the cat roam the neighborhood freely. I'm glad I don't now have a cat but I feel really bad for that cat and its ****ty owner.

  36. All inclusive resorts are largely similar, so if I had to sort by location it would be Cabo (by a mile), DR, Cancun and Cozumel. Were social butterflies and everyone is already in a great mood so we meet and hang out at the swim up bar with whoever sits next to us. We were in the adult section of the resort (Ambar): Restaurants and bars in Ambar - Hotels Bahia Principe (bahia-principe.com) and we ate at Portifino x 1 (ok), Limbo x 1 (very good), MEAT x 2 (very good), The Greek x 1 (ok) and Fish Market x 1 (meh).

  38. Italian deli and yes it's extremely expensive. Plus, I can feel my cholesterol rising just looking at the package. I can find pancetta in most supermarkets in my area but I have to go to a specialty store to get guanciale, or, as you wrote, order it online. Pancetta is a good substitute, it's easy to find and way cheaper than guanciale. If I were to make Pasta Alla Zozzona on a regular basis, well, first of all I'd weigh 400 lbs in no time, but also I'd likely use pancetta. However, this is a dish I plan to make once, maybe twice a year for a special get together and I can afford to go all out once or twice a year, both in terms of the financial and the state of my arteries.

  39. Where did you get the cheek? I usually settle for pancetta because I can find it easily, the only options for guanciale are ordering and it's prohibitively expensive.

  44. Requests: Infected Wolf Spiders unique loot - Currently no tangible incentive to kill them, so I don't. But I want to need to (also makes plugging the haze more worthwhile if it opens up new loot/weapon/armor paths). Hoping the introduction of the IBM will open more paths to unique infected gear and builds. Additional Default Difficulty Setting for Whoa! (Toggleable on custom) - Infected Wolf Spiders increased roam range (similar to Wolf Spiders at night, but all day, every day). Gone are the days of feeling safe on your random strolls... *Shudder*. This also works in tandem with my loot suggestion above, cos currently Infected Wolf Spiders are not scary, too easy to just avoid in the areas they normally are, and there's no incentive to actually kill them. Having them free roam means you constantly have to keep your wits about you in a much larger and more unpredictable space. (Even a Whoa!+ mode in future could implement this I guess - unlocks after beating the game perhaps?) Faction Reputation Display - A simple UI to show which insects are p****d off and could raid your base + cooldowns on ones which already have. Sort Inventory button mapping - PLEASE, let us map a button to instantly sort inventories, rather than having to navigate to the sort button on screen (particularly annoying on controller!!). Even just a PC mapping would be appreciated as I use ReWASD. After playing the Resident Evil 4 remake and being able to instantly sort inventory with a simple press of L3, playing Grounded and now having to manually sort inventories is painnnnnful (and much more frequent!). Vertical Ziplines - This would be cool to replace people's makeshift jump towers. Unlocked with the ZIP.R? Direction Configurable arrow at the top to show exit direction(similar to jump pad arrows) or just exit the way you're facing. ZIP.R Alternative - Would be cool if we could replace the Aphid ZIP.R with a battery powered one, even if it's only cosmetic. Personally, the aphid wheel kills some immersion, because it is a littttttle bit ridiculous (although cute and some people will love it), with there being powered buildings/labs all over the yard, a powered tool wouldn't not make sense. Character Dialogue - When talking to BURG.L etc. the playable character currently says nothing and your responses are purely text based options. This is annoying on mulitplayer games because other players on the server cannot see your responses, but can hear BURG.Ls replies only. Feel like this may have been a bit of an oversight, particularly on multiplayer sessions. My friends playing for the first time, had absolutely no idea what was going on, because they were only hearing 50% of a conversation. It would also make these conversations so much more engaging, as well as making the characters more engaging too, with each having their own personality to the standard responses. Armor Set Bonus Info - Please show the armor set bonus name on individual armor items, from experience on multiplayer, new players have no idea armor set bonuses even exist Bugs: Infected Wolf Spider getting stuck constantly under the oak, rarely ever comes out now. Infected Gnats near sandbox spawning and dying under water level (I've emailed support team on this with video) Sandbox shade is broken (I've emailed support team on this with video)
