  2. No, both scale with Power Level. But for whatever reason the Monastic UT fists always scale with the Single Class Power Level progression - even if you have a Multiclass. Which is nice for multiclass chars of course: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/pc/227477-pillars-of-eternity-ii-deadfire/faqs/76599/monastic-unarmed-training And yes, universal Power Level buffs like Wellspring of Life (Nature Godlike) can increase both fist types (every 2 PLs with Monk, every 3 PLs with Monastic UT). A Forbidden Fist can use Lord of the Forest (from the Lace of the Midwood Stag) for +2 stackable PL and use his Forbidden Fist attack (it scales like Transcendent Suffering). That's one more scaling step. I usually use Wellspring of Life with Stone of Power for another easy scaling step. I think if you gain Acute or Brilliant from an item (like Least Unstable Coil) it's also stackable?

  3. Weapon summons do not benefit from added PL. Monk fists (and unarmed Monastic training fists) do. Woedica fists do not. A SC Monk with Prestige can benefit from every other PL. You'll get +2 from Potion of Ascension (best source for active, but does not stack with other active). So even with Nature's Godlike +1 PL passive, you'll need another +1 PL. Hey, good luck then, because I do not know any other source of passive PL sor SC Monk fists. Food gets +1 PL, but is usually considered as active unless the save/load random bug cause it to become passive.

  4. Demo has been released. Despite some bugs I'm highly intrigued.

  5. Somewhere in the middle of Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones. A few things I've noticed only because I'm playing through the series sequentially - the sound design is better (VA, music, and random noises are separated mostly correctly), the targeting is much less forceful, and the boss battles are somehow more diverse (might be because of the QTEs, though - no giant griffons* this time). On the other hand, the graphics and animations are poorer and the gallery unlocks are not exactly immersive (the "Sand Credits"). *it was odd that the only boss faced during the infinite Sand period did not have any Sand-related gimmicks (like slowing down Mahasti in T2T). Purchased The Last Hero of Nostalgia after playing the demo. It is a Souls-like with a very unfriendly narrator, similar to The Stanley Parable. The controls are comfortable and mostly rebindable and the progress is saved on exit. Will continue after finishing the trilogy.

  6. I honestly think most Godlikes are underwhelming comparing with the other races, especially without Mods like Community Patch and Deadfire Balance Polishing Mod. There are several great Headgears, such as Fair Favor, Helm of the Falcon, Heaven's Cacophony, and Helm of the White Void, and the other races have its own passive abilities already. The penalty cannot wear a Headgear is quite serious imo. Anyway, the best Godlike is probably Nature Godlike, because their innate ability is relatively easy to be achievable. I'm still, however, not sure the universal +1 PL is really comparable with the above great Headgear's effects + the other races' passive bonuses.

  9. Finished Prince of Persia: Warrior Within. The "realism" (as in "How would it work/be used by human beings normally?") of the environment and the combat barks/visual design of the enemies are somehow worse, but the platforming and the ability to traverse the island more freely (to backtrack to collect the health upgrades) feel good. There are more optional collectibles, such as weapons and artworks, but now I am much less interested in hunting them down. I also realised that I had forgotten what some of the switches did and was pulling/pressing them to find out, which was very in-character. Defeated the final boss on the first attempt, the thing did not glitch (it used to instantly pull itself from the ledge in one of the previous playthroughs). In terms of combat, Warrior Within is more comfortable than the Sands of Time, but the targeting and auto-activating the combat mode are somehow inconvenient and some of the actions are bound to the same inputs (e.g. rolling back and doing a backflip with S+Space, which was unpleasant during the final battle). The total playtime, according to Steam, is around 6 hours. Finished Fable III - Traitor's Keep and Understone DLCs. I had forgotten some of the design issues (rather poor combat, untracked fetch quests, and good-looking but inconvenient GUI, including maps), but overall it was a very nice experience. Also Fable III has one of the most impressive character customisation systems and environments - the stats affect the PC's appearance and the story choices change the locations. I suppose, if the reboot is anywhere close to that (and preferably returns visible HP/MP, local maps, and the magic system from the original Fable), it will be great. Also, the game definitely needs a chicken companion animal.

  10. If youre trying to optimize then godlike is niche, only two worth looking at are nature and death imo Nature's PL buff can be useful for a couple of classes, most obvious is monk, and if you multiclass with fighter you get an option to scale up your fists without having to use items, so nature godlike brawler is pretty good imo Another application I liked was psion, the increased PL makes them generate focus faster, I'm sure there's a few others too Death is more niche, its for classes that get bonuses from being kept at low health, streetfighter and barbarian are two that come to mind, ideally multiclassed (or supported by a party member) who can ensure they won't die at that lower health The PL bonus can be useful in the same sorts of ways as nature as well, could do multis like monk/priest or even fighter/priest (with monastic unarmed) to scale up fists

  11. Wellspring of Life works like a passive. It stacks with everything.

  12. Thanks! That is interesting about fists- I coulda sworn I read on the forums that Woedica fists can get a +PL, but I guess not. So then monk fists (and monastic) scales with player's level AND power level? I thought monastic training scaled with player's level, so even an MC character gets the quality compared to an SC character with that ability. So then an SC monk with prestige (passive effect) can reach the highest power level of fists it seems, when you add in the +active effect of Potion of Ascension (+2 PL) as compared to Nature Godlike's active passive of (+1 PL) numbers aside, you are already so strong at level 20 , especially against enemies whose crush armor is less than your PEN. I am gonna try to categorize all enemies stats into a list one day so there is data to demonstrate how, for example, a lot of enemies are NOT slash resistant in deadfire, while many and immune to pierce.

  13. The Invincible demo It very much feels like Firewatch... IN SPAAAAAAAAACE There's a lot of talking to a faceless voice as you do walking simulator stuff and weird things happens. If nothing else, it looks pretty.

  14. David Allen's Primevals is finally finished after a 45 year adventure through conception in 1978, development, production, filming in 1994, Allen's death in 1999 when the stop-motion effects were still being worked on and a kickstarter to raise funds to finish it. Its premiered in Full Moon Picture's July update (video should be set to start at the start of the trailer).

  15. Currently playing a SC ascendant on PotD I picked nature godlike I haven't found a truly OP helmet that makes me regret my choice and since I am ascendant I am already stacking power-levels Can't trigger the bonus myself, I have Xoti casting litany of body on me at the start of the fight. Also she casts litany of spirit so that's +2 powerlevels on top of everything else. I think nature godlike is only useful if you are playing pure casters and stacking PL If you are playing multiclass I don't think it's worth since you already gave up on powerlevel stacking And martials will benefit more from the helmets than powerlevels, they are only really useful for casters. The rest of the godlikes seem underwhelming

  16. Nature godlike: https://pillarsofeternity.fandom.com/wiki/Nature_godlike You get +1 powerlevel for using body inspirations So, the idea here is you wanna build a character around stacking powerlevels. Weapon summons can really benefit from this. For example, priest of Woedica fists can, I think, be even stronger than an SC monks. So while the bonus is not small, it is a starting point Death Godlike: https://pillarsofeternity.fandom.com/wiki/Death_godlike The idea here is to build a character who can stay near death for +3 PL this really needs Barring Death's Door and Salvation of Time from so you can stay in this sweet spot. One idea here is to get low HP, summon a weapon , and reap the benefits of +3 PL. Actually I am not sure if the summoned weapon changes based on players' PL level but I think it counts from the time of summon. I am sure others have ideas Fire Godlike :https://pillarsofeternity.fandom.com/wiki/Fire_godlike Here, bloodied is easier to be at. So you can make a character with a large health pool (+boost con) and build equipment around that that reduced damage as you lose health. Honestly the bonuses here are not too great on paper. I haven't tried this one. The biggest benefit here is having natural fire AR. There are a lot of annoying fire enemies in Deadfire, esp. early game (I am looking at you, Wurms!)

  18. I was awash with joy when I found out today that Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season two began airing last week, and I am currently enjoying episode one. Episode two is going to drop tomorrow, I think. I remain hopeful that everything will keep being as great as the first ten minutes of the first episode. I am positively ecstatic. So much that I had to pause after the cold opening to post about it. Helpful summary of the first ten minutes: As I am unable to properly express my feelings, I will just let Beethoven speak for me:

  19. I think they probably could have had a new character in deadfire. One thing I like about dragon age is that they have a new main character every installment. There was no real reason the watcher was back for deadfire imo. Deadfire did a decent job giving reason why you are level 1, but in general it's annoying when you start a sequel weaker than you ended the previous game. I really really hope we get a proper poe3

  20. Not just density but also quality and creativity. Pick a random map from a Ubisoft game, look how packed the map is with icons, that's dense, right? How many of those icons represent something interesting, though?

  23. Jusant Demo This game looks a lot like Ico. You climb. The climbing mechanics are terrific. I can't speak to m&kb controls but this game was definitely made for a controller (it even says that when you start it). The triggers control your right and left hands and you use the left thumbstick to search out for handholds. You can place pitons and jump and swing and it's all really well done and super fun. The demo took me roughly 45 minutes and I immediately wishlisted the game afterward. This could wind up being the sleeper hit of the year, assuming it comes out this year. The demo is really chill and extremely fun. Hopefully the full game has extra challenges and secrets to find. I'll probably run through the demo again just to look for secrets.

  29. https://www.dailymaverick.co.za/art...point-african-plan-to-end-russia-ukraine-war/ Here is the African leaders 10 point peace plan, in summary Both leaders must listen to one another; The war must be settled through negotiations and diplomatic means; There must be a de-escalation of conflict on both sides; The sovereignty of countries in terms of the UN Charter and internationally recognised principles should be recognised; There needs to be a guarantee of security for all the countries involved. This issue has been raised by all sides; The movement of grains across the Black Sea must be opened up to remove blockages so that commodities can reach markets; Humanitarian efforts must be set up for those affected by the war; Prisoners of war must be released and children returned to Ukraine; There must be reconstruction of the destruction caused by the war; and Further engagements should be held to encourage more dialogue through the Africa Peace Mission. It has some good and reasonable ideas but I cant see Putin agreeing to it because his political and ideological future is aligned to this war. If Putin drops dead tomorrow Russia will continue but the war needs some sort of victory for Putin's nationalistic aspirations to be sustainable But he wont agree to the following without a semblance of military progress which the Ruskies haven't achieved yet The sovereignty of countries in terms of the UN Charter and internationally recognised principles should be recognised; Prisoners of war must be released and children returned to Ukraine There must be reconstruction of the destruction caused by the war

  30. This is, again, interesting. I have referenced to this in an earlier iteration of this thread, but it's fascinating enough (in my view) to bring up again: there appears to something oddly scatological in the Russian way of living -- or at least in the way Russian (soldiers) conduct themselves (abroad). In the early 2000s, I worked in a project dealing with the aftermath of the war in Chechnya, and one of the big surprises for me was the extent to which the presence of Russian soldiers was marked by, yes, shít. In tremendous abundance and in places you wouldn't ordinarily expect to find it in your average household. There have been numerous reports of the same in Ukraine: messages written on walls with someone's hefty number two as the writing material, piles of big businesses in kitchens, living rooms, etc., you name it. I find it very odd: it is almost impossible that all of the soiling could happen right before the troops leave, so do the soldiers just happily live in a dunged-up house? Do soldiers gather together for a good ol' group-cráp, or does the fouling of a room take place incrementally, and if so, what does the provider of the 15th pile of ordure in a living room think while on the job with the 14 already there? I'd like to, and wouldn't like to, know the answers to some of the questions like this. It's very strange. I have sometimes wondered if there's an unspeakably nasty hidden side to the bodily cleanliness (in many respects) of the Arab culture, and I suppose I must also wonder whether there's a remarkably well hidden clean side to this aspect of the Russian culture.

  31. And now, some news from Mordor. This is from recent "international" (LOL) economics forum of St. Peterburg or some such. Black-yellow-white is old flag of russian empire, until now used mostly by ultra-nationalist radical trash, but here it officially is, right next to the soviet empire's flag. Very symbolic and would be funny if not for deaths of hundreds of thousands Ukrainians caused by ambitions of those imbeciles dreaming of imperial glory.

  32. I'm sorry, good guess, but that is incorrect. I'll give Ubisoft this, their games typically have a handful or two of legitimately interesting activities and at least a couple of fun characters. It's the 874 lame collectibles and 36 copy/paste outposts for you to liberate that weigh the whole thing down. Thanks for playing. Be sure to collect your parting gift, a $10 certificate to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, on the way out. Edit: The correct answer was 8. 8 of the 1246 icons on an Ubisoft map represent something interesting.
