I bet it'll have a MSRP of ... $2499. I suppose it might be $1999 but I wouldn't cross my fingers on it. Well, at the least this is promising in terms of that whenever I maybe build totally new, whatever it is by then would be enough to last until I die or physically can't game anymore or whatever. And it'll probably only cost me $6k by then! For the GPU.... *does a little cheer for Intel to keep improving their lower range gpu's, instead*1 point

I've taken a look at your Bilestomper build, perhaps not suitable for most tastes, but it seems very original to me. I had tried a wizard with very low MIG and high DEX and INT as a crowd controller, but never thought of dumping DEX. This is what I like most about PoE, that this offers so many different possibilities for different types of players. And in Deadfire it still offers many more, even though it never got past Act I. The 2 times I've tried it, when I got the ship I left it. About DofCaroc, I agree with what you say. To add something, their immunities make it much easier to Luminescent Caves, if you don't have a very high level and you rush to get Silver Flash. I like to use blunderbusses, even if it's just to trigger Combusting Wounds.1 point

While playing with friends, the firefly head lamp blinds my fellow players but I do not want to switch out my head gear all the time just to turn the light off. Can you add a way to toggle the light on the helmet on and off?1 point

It's been a while, so I just re-tested the starting of Hauani battle. There are a few possibilities. You can place a trap from stealth as usual (disable AI, click where to place the trap, shift click ASAP to the safe location so you can enqueue actions and do it as fast as possible). Hauani is a little different in that her detection radius is just like her huge size, but even if scary you can place the trap well inside Hauani radius/blob, when trap is near enough the center of Hauani the trap will trigger, I managed to start the fight safely with 14 stealth, a couple steps inside her detection radius. Pros of placing a trap from stealth are you keep your stealth so you can cast super fast and send (e.g. painlinked) summons. Problem is if you start applying direct damage to Hauani you and Vela will go out of stealth/Vela will follow you and Hauani has ranged attacks. So all in all best strategy is to try and keep Vela to the map border. A common way is 1% trigger of Magran belt fire blight. A better way I found is charming Vela, she should be far enough to not run fighting Hauani (if you can't directly charm her use e.g. whale of a wand spamming a spell on her e.g. Psychovampiric Shield). If you manage to charm (5% is not bad) her combat will start and she will stay there when she stops. You can send summons directly while she is still charmed or (better) wait for the charm to expire. She will stay there and you can now place a trap having her not following you any more Note: the charming does not always work, I never managed to get it working with Belranga, not enough distance, Vela will try to kill Belranga or Belranga minions1 point

nope she'll run over to you first before getting scared. important that she freaks out first lordy you got a pickle of a challenge here. how far have you been able to get throughout all your iterations? another thing possible consideration is cinder bombs. unless BPM changed it, the explosion itself will interrupt, without a roll, so it really doesn't matter how good your explosives skill is. it could act as an extra source of interrupt that you don't have to resource-gen for, for stopping merges.1 point

Yeah I know, but -- seeing where Dark went in S2 and S3 -- it may not necessarily be a bad thing? Oh, and forgot to mention that music in Dark was quite good and 1899's ending titles songs are fantastic1 point

Dark. Very obviously inspired by Lost, too bad that inspiration came mostly from last season aka nadir of all things TV. Season 1 was pretty fine, even if some creator's ticks (like catapult nightmare) got a little irritating after a while. Seasons two and especially three went more laughable with each elevation of time travel shenanigans. I think if you want "What is time" stuff, you either go hard sci-fi, pure comedy or - if you want to leave dangling storylines and unanswered questions - leave that to David Lynch, because only him can pull sh†t like that in more or less satisfactory way. Now what I understood from it, is that time is like one of those Scotch tapes that are so gluey you can't find the end no matter how thoroughly you search for it so you just start splintering it randomly and ruin the whole roll. Still, I was entertained enough to start 1899 now when it's done already. Creator's ticks are there, and I'm particularly amused for this one: Character 1: ...blah? .... ...pause .... long needlessly long pause... Character 2: ...yadda (= cryptic bullsh†t that does not answer Char 1's question at all, but somehow they accept it instead of going "Dude that's not what I asked!") I'm also not a fan of magical creepy kid trope, even less so after Mass Effect 3, but so far that's outweighed by my undying love for ghost ship stories.1 point

Maybe dumb question: are you letting vela get scared before you kite? Her scared AI shouldn’t wander that much, whereas her normal AI will try to find you (and then getting scared when an enemy is in range). I dragged Vela with me to aggro HoW so I could trigger her fear, I withdrew her, and then kited. It was pretty foolproof in terms of safety1 point

in our opinion, sosiel has access to domains which makes him more valuable to a party than daeran regardless o' almost any build am able to imagine for the a$$imar oracle (misspell intentional). it is possible to turn daeran into a decent mounted dual-wielding combatant, and with the nature mystery added via a mythic powha, you will be able to select a mount plus the friend to animals revelation will serious boost the saves o' all party animal companions-- daeran is a useful companion. even so, sosiel is having access to a few o' the most significant abilities in the game via domains and the mythic impossible domain ability makes it possible for sosiel to choose two or three additional domains. favorite domains: animal, community, madness, nobility. have literal not played wotr since release sans a high wisdom character who has access to the community domain. the animal domain provides sosiel a mount. give sosiel the lunge feat and with his reach weapon, stick him on a legendary proportion dog or boar, then cast frightful aspect, divine power and eagle soul and as long as you got the outflank feat you will be wreaking the battlefield. alternatively, add one level o' crossblood sorc to the priest o' shelyn and sosiel potential is one o' your best damage dealing companion casters. late in the game you likely need healing less and there is multiple ways to achieve healing w/o a dedicated healer, so the issue eventually becomes almost moot. aivu is good enough to do party heals for act v if you are going azata. the treasure o' the midnight isles vendor sells 199 scrolls o' most healing spells which functional turns any character with decent umd skill into a healer, but especial nenio with her scroll mastery. speaking o' nenio, you may add mass heal to the spell repertoire o' nenio and ember via loremaster. *shrug* if you do not want sosiel or daeran, ember makes a more than adequate heal replacement particular if you are going azata or angel, so feel free to choose a dedicated front-liner if the priest and oracle fail to meet your needs... but again, sosiel is a brute in combat when proper buffed and mounted plus his domain powhaz make him arguable the most useful companion in the game, though seelah and camellia deserve consideration for a most effective wotr companion award. however, no companion is essential, even if you choose to avoid hiring mercs. HA! Good Fun!1 point

About Vela. Best way is usually a trap keeping stealth (usually needs at least 14/15 stealth, the more the better). When in stealth you can hover the cursor on enemy and see detection radius, try to place the trap out of radius first, some enemies (humans usually) are more curious, but most of them turn back fast. When they turn back it is easier to place a second trap inside the detection circle. 2nd best way if your stealth is not enough is stll a trap + a bomb nearby (not a spark one as Vela will be curious about that LOL), so you can throw the luring bomb from a distance and go away faster, you will not always be able to keep stealth but Vela should follow you to safety faster. Blue (not yet aggroed) enemies can be done planting a bomb with AI off, shift + click pickpocket If you have enough map space between your position and the enemy you can also try charming Vela (you can use a whale of a wand if you can target her with any spell). It is risky as she will start looking for a fight, but if you are far enough from enemy she should stop nearby. Then she will still stay there until you change map, and that can be very useful (you can even place a trap without her following you).1 point

Grocery/household - it all amounts to maybe $700-$800 a month for us right now. That's food and non-food grocery together, mind, but still, two people, pffft. I'm used to less food per day already, maybe I'll go to the one meal a day. Edit: I think eggs are $7-$10 at the moment, depends. CostCo every couple months or so helps with some of the non-food to stock up on but they're dangerous to some of us in the sense that you always seem to find yourself walking out of there spending way more than necessary, even if you manage to avoid silly fluff items. Because it speaks to the lazy don't-want-to-come-back soul inside of you, so of course you need 4 giant packs of tons of paper towels right now, or 8 of those giant spice bottles, it's not like they go bad right?? Giant cheese packages, you like that brand right hon, gotta get couple of those! And oh! That's a new packaged food, very low carb, I have to try that at least once! >.> Yeah, don't go there often unless you have the self-discipline of a monk.1 point

I disliked the controls in DS1 immensely, although I used mouse and keyboard and the original port of the game.1 point

DS1/DeS (they're practically the same) have probably my favorite movement out of all the Soulsborne games. They're slower and more weighty than the other games, which takes a little time to get the hang of at first...but the thing is, the result is that those two games have enemies that are slower and play more fair with the player - DS3 is like a much faster and smoother version of DS1's controls (and with 8-directional movement when targeting), but in exchange, you get piles of enemies repeatedly doing 360 degree spin jumping attacks over and over and it's just so incredibly obnoxious and largely not fun to me...especially as someone who can play through all of DS1 without ever getting hit because of the degree to which I perfectly understand its controls and enemies' movesets. With DS2, they were going for something entirely different from all the other games, something that I think was intended to be even slower and more limiting but which I just don't think works at all - they feel unnecessarily context conditional, floaty, and vague. Even though I literally beat DS2, I never felt like I understood its controls (or understood why they were the way they were) and that enraged me in a way that none of the other games ever could, so no surprise I hated that game. Some people say DS2's movement is, in fact, the best out of the three Dark Souls games. A curse upon them and their house for all eternity, says I.1 point

So, in a fit of alcohol withdrawal I watched the first some amount of episodes of Strange New Worlds and I gotta say, I didn't outright hate it like I did Picard and Discovery. I don't think it's great and I have a bunch of gripes but I think it's good enough that I may eventually finish the first season. I don't think anyone has broken down into tears or solved anything with fisticuffs yet so that's nice but they're also somewhat unable to get away from the stuff I don't the most about the other shows. Does everyone need a tragic back story and also do they all need to be so quippy? A little of both goes a long way.1 point

I'm not sure exactly how much of Durance's backstory as it is was intended by Avellone but his quest was originally going to be a text adventure where you wandered through a dungeon that represented his memories and found out that he had fought the Grieving Mother at some point and they erased each other's memories or something.1 point
