  1. Yeah, it's something weird that happens with people when getting in the drivers seat, I think the steering-wheel calls forth their inner ****, sort of like a werewolf and the full moon. My favourite would be people going from an onramp to the overtaking lane while doing 65km/h instead of 100..

  2. @majesticAs someone who drives for a living, I feel your pain. My favorite ***hole maneuver is when someone is on an interstate or other large highway driving in the passing lane, they suddenly realize that they are about to miss their exit, so instead of just safely going to the next exit and turning around, losing probably about 4 or 5 minutes, they instead sharply cut across 2 or 3 lanes of traffic, potentially causing a giant pile up. Bonus points for no turn signal.

  3. Driving on the highway, rightmost lane, 55 mp/h speed limit, @majestic's is driving pretty much exactly 55 mp/h behind another car (with a more than comfortable distance between us) which is directly behind a truck with like half a yard between the two. Nobody's behind me. Exit coming up, the car before me is driving off the highway, I can see the idiot accelerating on the exit lane as he passes the truck, only to break hard before the upcoming corner. Yeah, so, I guess gas is still not expensive enough. Someone else is suddenly coming up from behind, takes the exit, accelerates past me, flips me the bird, then breaks hard before the corner. I'm a little unsure what the hell her problem was. I suppose she was sitting comfortably in my dead angle on the left lane and found it difficult to switch lanes. With, you know, the entire right lane empty, except that truck and the idiot in front of me. #Ihatedriving

  4. I'm attempting to grow szczaw, or sorrel, as it's known in English. Zupa szczawiowa, aka sorrel soup, is one of my favorite dishes, but I rarely get to eat it because sorrel isn't exactly easy to find in Murica unless you live somewhere with a sizable Polish community, like Chicago or New Britain. I'd probably find it eventually if I spent a day driving from farmer's market to farmer's market, and I can definitely get it pickled in a jar, but I'd rather use fresh sorrel, so I decided to try growing it on my balcony. The plants are sprouting now. We'll see how it fares here in Cackalacky, it naturally grows in colder climates in Europe and the summer heat here might be too much for it, thus I think it will fare well in the spring and fall. It's a perennial so it should keep growing back and it will have no problems surviving the hilariously mild winters in this region, but I might wind up needing to drag the planter inside for the summers.

  6. I finished Steelrising. As I've written before, this game is a soulslike and most closely resembles Bloodborne. The game looks good, sounds great, and plays really well. The controls, at least on a Xbox controller, feel intuitive and everything is responsive. Hitboxes seem reasonable and feedback is on point. The story is decent, it takes a while to get going, but once it does it's entertaining enough. Spiders' wont win any awards for writing, the narrative isn't compelling enough to keep you going were the gameplay crappy, but luckily the gameplay is quite good and the narrative solid enough to not detract from it. My biggest criticism is that the game is quite easy for a soulslike. It could just be my build and/or the fact that I did all the side quests and was fairly OP near the end, but this was a breeze on default difficulty compared to other soulslikes. I could count all my deaths on two hands, for a soulslike that's not a lot. The most important thing, though, is that the game is really really fun to play. It never once felt like a chore and I was constantly eager to get back to playing it. I will almost certainly run through the game again at some point. The NG+ update is supposedly arriving in less than a week, but I'll likely wait until November for the DLC story to arrive.

  7. Well, I grinded just a bit and maybe because I had a party of 3 single classes (so quite focus) falling in front of a fight that wasn't the best for one of my character. With level 16 for henchmen, no big issue. Difficulty has been fine since then. I don't get it. Current starting money without blessing is fine. You should not change it. Then if players use a blessing... well, they should get the corresponding additional money. I don't see the issue...

  8. In the same way some effects from weapon are Melee and proc Swift Flurry, some others are Ranged and proc Driving Flight. Even if the most of weapon effects work fine with the Ring of the Marksman, Strategic Shot (Scordeo's Edge) or Sharpshooter's passive, they are not ranged in reality. Like in the other topic, I list here only the 100% chance to proc a Truly Ranged Effect : Thundercrack Pistol : Overload (paralize on crit) vs fortitude : Conductive Blast (not the upgrade)vs reflex, 1/rest Xefa's Empirical Explication : Matter Repulsion (knocked back on crit, vs fortitude : Inexplicable Mass ( Knock prone on crit), vs fortitude Spearcaster : Forceful Impact (50% chance to knockback and daze on hit), vs fortitude : Arcane Bolt (15% chance to cast Minoletta's missiles on crit), ; Pinning ( 20% chance to immobilize on hit), vs fortitude : Skewer (multiple target bolt) 2/rest, vs defl. & fortitude for immoilized and pushed Watershaper Focus : Brackish Arc ( Sicken on crit) vs fortitude There are some others like with smaller chance or specific target like A whale of a Wand (Beast Imagined, Sea Stories, Woven Waves (5% chance for each effect to proc), Keybreaker Scepter (Revelation, frighten kith on crit), The Eye of Wael (Illusive Spell, 5% chance to cast a random spell on hit, Shrouded Strike, 10% chance to random affliction on target on crit),Amaliorra (Bend the Will & Break the Will on crit vs kith or wilder, Claim the Will & Claim the Husk abilities), Dragon's Dowry (Serpent's Rage ability), The Weyc Wand (Muddling Bolts, 25% chance to confuse target on crit), Windsong (Loose the Wind, 30% chance to deal freeze damage on crit), Aaminaa's Legacy (precison Impact and the upgrade), Amira's Wing (Forceful Gust, 5% chance to interrupt and knock prone on hit), Veilpiercer (Disruptive Arrow ability), and Rod of the Deep Hunter (Crashing Surf Ability). More funny, there is also Preparing the Offering (ability from Sanguine Greatsword), Ball Lightning (Lord Darryn Voulge) and Necrotic Heart (and upgrade) from Voidwheel ! Also, The Pain Persits (not Instruments of Pain) is Ranged Weapon, and fists bounces (but dont trigger Swift Flurry anymore). All these effects are Ranged - Weapon, so they trigger Avenging Storm and bounce with Diving Flight, but also profit to some bonuses like Marksman (Ranger) and Shootist ( Alcina's Tricorn)*. More clearly, Conductive Blast is really devastating with a ranger (especially with Avenging Storm, each hit from the ability cause 1 lightning and bounce with a lightning, an each hit and bounce can crit, causing Overload that cause one lightning and bounce with another lightning, and can also crit causing a new Overload (an new lightning) and bounce (with a lightning) etc. Xefa Empirical Explication can, with Driving Flight and Avenging Storm, create a lightning "cone", and with Whirling Strike and really good acc, it is like a Lightning Show. Of course, it is not the "explosion" that Hand Mortar make, but it is valuable : 4*2 bullets that can trigger 2 effects per bullet on crit that bounce and can create 2 new effects on crit that bouce etc with one lightning for each proc and bounce. The Watershaper Focus is also really great because of the modal, the +1 bounce, Driving Flight and so the 3 AoE that can proc some crit that trigger Backish Arc that bounce and can also crit, causing a new layer of Backish Arc, that bounce etc. Of course, witout Avenging Storm, that is not really impressive, but with it, that look like one of the most powerful weapon for ranger. * : about Shootist from Alcina Tricorn, that work also for most of the spells, and with the combinason of Sky Dragon Wurm (+3acc for >4m target), Boras (+5acc with Spells), Sagani Ressentiment (+2acc for >4m target), the wearer gain +15acc with spells. In this case of the wearer is the ranger, +15acc with weapon (+10 above + ring of the Marksman) and +15acc with Avenging Storm.

  9. Twilight Q (1987), a two-part OVA that seems like it was intended to be a kind of rip-off of The Twilight Zone. Only two episodes were made, but apparently there were supposed to be more - all from different directors with their own original ideas. It's kind of a shame that only two were made, as it was a quality production, and it would have been a fun show to watch an episode here and there of a la an anthology series like Tales from the Crypt or The Outer Limits. Ah well.

  10. I agree with @Elric Galad. The 5k/50k starting money is at the end of the day an optional extra, and I'm sure there will be some players who will appreciate going in with the extra copper. The extra 5k at least to my mind isn't a lot to worry about, though I do see the concern being that there is little reason for players not picking the 50k starting gold blessing. But I imagine there are quiet a few purchases that can still really eat into that amount when gearing up a party (especially if a player has some premade characters that are fully kitted out that they want to hire). That said I haven't done the math on this, so if this does flush a player with more money than they would reasonably spend then it may be a case of just tweaking the amount given by the 50k gold blessing? Halving it to 25k maybe? Though there is the possibility of opening the pandora's box of tweak/changing the other blessings that aren't really worth taking for an S4 playthrough (ship things, port marje vendors, fine equipment, "...Can I Pet Him Anyway?")? Oh, so that's why there are spirit portrait versions of those characters in the game files? Good on Obsidian for assuming at least some players will try to kill every NPC! I'm sure someone would have pointed it out eventually if I hadn't. And I have got to say, I am really impressed with how smooth the start of this mod is!

  11. Hardly anyone will recognize the sham referenda. Even countries that abstained in previous UN votes will reject these sham referenda because otherwise they would be supporting one country unilaterally using force to take another country's territory which will surely come back to bite them on the ass at some point in the future. So even countries like China and India will not accept Russia forcibly taking territory that everyone in the UN recognizes and accepts as Ukrainian territory. They're not gonna' want to see a similar situation vis-a-vis Taiwan or Kashmir.

  12. Not sure if this is reliable. But if indeed not even Serbia will recognize Russia's sham referendums, it is good news.

  13. You're getting issues with your computer <-> monitor data connection. If the HDMI cable gets too long, you'll introduce annoying latency. I speak from experience. @Keyrock says he can't see how DisplayPort 2.0 does even matter right now - that's probably one of those situation where it does. At least I would love to be able to pump more data, faster, from the PC to the TV in my living room. That would be awesome. (I am currently running a super thick, 8m, gold coated HDMI cable and while some games work fine at 1920px, other games get a noticeable input lag ... and playing at 4K resolution is simply impossible with anything) That said, I would ****ing love a separate room just for the PC hardware. This could solve many issues. If it just wouldn't cause other issues in return...

  14. I heard the corpo intro mission was buggy and they just cut it out. Dunno if that's true, though. Noticed a few small glitches as well, but nothing serious. A part of me wonders if the hardware plays a role in that too - for example, I'm playing with everything on Ultra and it looks and feels like a completely different game to when I tried it on my old hardware last year (or maybe they just fixed a lot, dunno). The most funny glitch was when I was driving in a van in a cutscene. You have the ability to skip long drives where nothing happens ... so I did that, and when the screen faded back from black, the whole van was completely trashed. All doors missing, the hood was missing, scratches everywhere, etc... that was hilarious. Shortly before the screen faded from black, I've heard a loud crash noise. My guess is the vehicle clipped into the ground after teleport and that's what damaged it to almost-destruction. Oh, I just remember one issues that I feel is kinda serious ... if you reload in hostile areas, sometimes the same thing happens. The player spawns and lands loudly on the floor, which can alert nearby enemies. Sometimes I had to reload 2 or 3 times until enemies in my area would not spot me instantly after reload. The thing is, I'm not sure how important stealth actually is in the game ... is it like in Deus Ex where it gets tracked and stuff happens? Or can I just run&gun and nobody cares? If not, then ... stealth is kinda not very enjoyable. It's really damn hard to pull off well without triggering any alarm.

  15. Swift Flurry and HbD dont proc Carnage also, for the same reason they dont proc Skald effect or Spell Disruption I presume, so maybe because they are status effects that use a primary attack as value ?

  16. Well, according to the official Russian government line, this is NOT a general draft or conscription. Under Russia's preexisting system, anyone who served in the military in any capacity and for any length of time and then left the service is in the "reserves" until a certain age is reached (40 or 50?). Russia has, on paper, 900,000 such "reservists." It is these reservists who are being "mobilized," which is to say being called back into service, and, according to Putin's and Shoigu's statements, only a select number of them accounting for one-third of all those available. Then, of the 300k being called up, the expectation is that only about 10% will be available for combat duty (so, excluding those who are physically unfit, ill, more useful in the civilian economy, better used for some non-combat role, etc.).

  17. With Instinctual Warrior Barbarian or (if data mining turns put to be right) Shifter, you can do the Wisdom to AC thing on non-lawfuls. Of course the Scaled Fist + Paladin + (Nature) Oracle to get CHA to saves and 2x CHA to AC is bonkers broken and you gotta be LG to pull that off.

  18. I knew it was gonna be good, but I didn't think it was going to be THAT GOOD. Incredible film. I have hopes for both. I'm an unabashed Del Toro stan and to boot Disney releasing that live action/cgi abomination to sabotage his Pinocchio makes me want to root for it. Hellraiser is a dark horse but I'm cautiously optimistic. Worst comes to worst it's still not gonna be the worst Hellraiser movie.

  19. I generally tend to plan out several playthroughs at once but have trouble going through with it. Like with WotR I've got a whopping six planned out (after the EE and DLC wave 2 drops) but will likely get derailed and do something else. My go to class is usually whatever kind of gish is avaliable (so Fighter/Mage for BG and Magus for Pathfinder), but I'll try to play differently for subsequent playthroughs. Generally I have the hardest time playing as Clerics for whatever reason, despite their mechanical strengths they just don't do it for me like mages, warriors, or rogues. I haven't managed to read a novel in years and have been occupied more with cinema and TV than games lately lmao. It's just harder to pull an all-nighter into a game than it was before, but give me some weird cinema like soviet era sci-fi or K-horror and I will be up all night.

  21. At one point I will have another playthrough for sure. It's just that I am not one for replays and even when I do so I usually just go for the same thing, a Paladin. This is not exclusive to (c)RPGs, even with builder games I usually take a long break before coming back for another run. Nowadays, sadly, I am taking long breaks playing games at all and I don't know why because I still love playing them. Same with books. It's not like I don't have time either, but I guess one needs energy even for those things. @InsaneCommander Exactly.

  23. You guys knew Humaire & Engari stay as spirits if you kill them? Clever failsafe. Glad I found this. Engari drops three letters, when inspected they'll each trigger a Face quest + 3x artefact hunting. I've edited the scripts so that they don't trigger the artefact hunting. I'll upload the standalone artefact hunting skip mod tomorrow after some sleep.

  24. You naughty Sarex ! Surly you must roll 10000000s of times to get the stats you want ? But for real, the game is ancient at this point and you've probably done several playthroughs so why stick with vanilla? Want to explore some of the unused class combos or kits? Go ahead, Swashbuckler/Mage multiclass Imoen or whatever you want to do. Mod the **** out of the game to boot. That you're having fun is what matters most.

  26. Some general stuff regarding Blessings/ActivateNewPlayer. Now that the Starting Money Blessings will work, should we take that into account for the S4 starting gold? I think I'd rather have a balanced, fixed amount of gold, regardless of whether the blessings were picked. I've atm set up so that 55k is removed from the player right before the S4 starting pot is given. Thoughts? In character creation, the attributes will now default to 10/10/10/10/10/10 rather than 16/14/13/13/8/11. (I'm using the proper Player_New_Game prefab rather than one of Obsidian's debug presets.) I noticed the disabled "companion" will reenable themselves and awkwardly join the party on scene load. To stop this, I will use the "Kill" command from now on (The corpse will be hidden out of sight and reach, in the spot where the player would land if they had entered from the well.) I noticed the player portrait will always default to a specific portrait: This is not an issue in vanilla because Wather's spirit prefab (which is used as a template during character creation) doesn't have a portrait specified. In vanilla, I think this is roughly what happens: Watcher's Spirit has Player status. SetAdditionalCharacterCreationTarget -> Watcher's Body OpenCharacterCreation (Watcher's Spirit will be used as template) ActivateNewPlayer -> Watcher's Body However when I try to replicate this, the Watcher's Spirit will disappear after ActivateNewPlayer and Player status will not be transfered to the Watcher's Body, which is entirely unique behavior compared to other character prefabs. The Watcher's spirit most likely has a script attached to them somehow. Optimally I'd get this sequence working somehow, but if it's dependent on something in the Beyond prologue scene I'd just be wasting my time. Since the portrait is a super minor issue I'll ignore it for now.

  27. I loved his Mariachi trilogy and From Dusk Till Dawn. Of the 90's directors, I always got the feel that he was the most genuine indie guy of the bunch besides Linklater. On a personal level I think he's a much more interesting filmmaker than Tarantino, who I think is a guy with a lot of talent but mediocre ideas. I think Cameron has gone full CGI. Probably a shame if you're an action movie guy, but I'm not so I don't really care that much. I wasn't the biggest fan of JoJo Rabbit, but I guess Waititi directing something besides Marvel is an improvement. Hold on, I got to punch out a prison guard who has been making me forget stuff with her stand. I have broken free of Jailhouse Lock and am now heading to Florida to battle the sons of DIO. Wish me luck.

  28. For S4 I highly recommend Get On My Level for the sake of the first two encounters, probably should've mentioned it. As long as it's properly pointed out in the mod description I think we can balance S4 with the expectation that the user has it installed. Anyhow, if experienced players have to grind just to overcome the second mandatory encounter, I'd say the difficulty is set way too high. Though as you mentioned, Lv 15 -> 16 is a massive power spike, so I presume the first two encounters would be significantly less difficult with Get on my Level installed? Shout-out to @Kvellenfor solving all of that by pointing out the existence of the front door

  31. I realized my computer was about 6 years old already, so I finally invested into new hardware. Not gonna lie, a part of that was influenced because I finally wanted to play Cyberpunk 2077 and just recently watched the anime ... Man, did I realize how much my old hardware SUCKED already. Crazy how different games feel when you pump your hardware. Anyways ... So I'm playing Cyberpunk now and to be honest, I'm digging it a lot so far. The beginning was a bit slow and completely overwhelming with the HUD and all the crap going on, but by now I got used to it. The city looks damn great. Not sure what to think of the writing - some dialog is a bit weird if you don't click through it in the order it was apparently written. Also not sure if the female V characters voice fits at all times - there's some lines every once in a while that feel very disconnected to me. I also like how it kinda feels a bit like a bigger / more open world Deus Ex game. Will see if it stays like that or not. For now, gonna go back into the game.

  32. Thanks OK, after a first round of reflection, here are my (sometimes radical) proposed changes for SC Paladin : 1. Divine Retribution : 2 Zeal per downed ally -> 1 Zeal What I'm trying to address : Divine Retribution being so brokenly strong that you have kind of an infinite pool of ressource. Now, I'm not trying to destroy builds relying on infinite summons, but to mitigate how easy they are to spam just about anything. 1 Zeal per downed ally is also enough for an ability point when not relying too much on summons, it still helps for drown out battle. Also as stated above it is mitigated by how BPM reduced various zeal costs. Further tweaks are also more lining toward buff direction. 2. Healing Chain (from current BPM version with 51+ random bounces of 10 health in about 30s) : - 2 Zeals -> 1 Zeal - Adding a 30s cooldown What I'm trying to address : - Cheaper zeal costs to make SC Paladin less reliant on Divine Retribution - Healing Chain being so dirt cheap for its power that it feels almost always cool to cast, while not replacing other heal. Basically it acts like a tweaked Healing over Time, halfway between an active ability with a very little cost and a sort of passive working in the background. - Avoid spamming abuse (spamming Healing Chain like crazy could basically make your party feel immortal). Other HoT do not stack with themselves. 3. (the most radical one, feel free to comment) Sacred Sacrifice : - Remove the reviving effect - Infinite duration for both the pulse and the self damages (so not reduced by RES) until knockdown or end of battle EDIT : probably leaning toward a very long duration, probably 60s. Infinite duration breaks the game with robe of the Weyc, least unstable coil and similar items. You'll be actually burning yourself to sacrifice. Note that Sacred Immolation and upgrades disable themselves while active. What I'm trying to address : - Redundancy between Sacred Sacrifice and Providence. Actually this one synergizes with providence. - less reliability on zeal/divine retribution (lots of damages for zeal spend). Dirt cheap in term of zeal compared to potential damages. Health management (your teammates can help) instead of zeal management... - Boost action economy since not having to cast it again helps you to do other things. - Provide something fun/fluff to do with your SC Paladin that feels quite different from the more "default" Divine Immolation upgrade Sacred Sacrifice + Providence will cost 5 Zeal, so with a high health pool and some health regeneration, you'll be able to do a lots of damages for the cost. 4. Providence : - Heal to full health (was quite reachable before with low CON, high MIG, Practiced healer and... fruits). THis is meant to favor high CON build as a replacement from removing similar effect from Sacred Sacrifice. - Remove BPM Courage until end of battle that felt a bit Random.

  37. The only work of his that I've seen is Spy Kids, back when I was like seven or eight years old. It looks very unlikely I would enjoy anything he was director or writer for. Apparently, James Cameron wanted to one-up it when he was slated to be director before he was canned because he was too busy with Avatar trash: "With James Cameron as potential director, the film was to be produced with the same mix of live-action and computer-generated imagery that Cameron used in Avatar. Specifically, Cameron intended to render the main character, Alita, completely in CGI. Cameron had stated that he would make use of technologies developed for Avatar to produce the film, such as the Fusion Camera System, facial performance capture, and the Simulcam. In May 2006, Variety reported that Cameron had spent the past ten months developing technology to produce the film." Like...couldn't we just give her a normal head/face but metal android body, like the show did? Wouldn't that look and work a lot better? I don't know, that would just kind of make sense to me. I'm not a famous Hollywood hack director, so my opinion on such things is eminently worthless. I watched Jojo Rabbit recently, does that count for anything?
