The same rhetoric was used, when Soviet Union invaded Czechoslovakia in 1968. It ended without slaughter though, with few people being killed in my homecity as well. The reason why no fight against USSR happened, was that we were at that time country overwhelmed by communist collaborators...3 points

I Wasteland's 3 Steeltown DLC! Tighter writing, fun new game mechanics, loads and loads of great loot, and last but not least, toilet humor! I think if I didn't have a max speed guy, a hacker and a mechanic the last fight could've felt a bit stretched, but since I had...anyway, there was plenty of XP too and now with maxed out Animal Whisperer I whispered myself a Honey Badger who is proving to be a walking cheat.3 points

Winter's Touch bonus (+10% freeze damage with weapon attack) proc on hit or crit. Most of friendly spells have to hit for giving their effect, but without hit roll. However, that is counted as an hit. So, with the Pollen Patch by exemple, every 1s every ally in the range take an hit, triggering the Winter's Touch lash if the ally (or the druid) is wearing the Horns of the Auroch. For the SC druid himself, this is nice for a second lash when spiritshifted. In the same kind of idea, Hand of Weal and Woe trigger also each second the effect. But the beam last for only 10s. Multiple pulsing spells in the taste of Moonwell or Consecrated Ground work very well too. Of course, Healing over Time effects doesnt work .2 points

The Battle Axe modal is so good that you should keep it on and not deactivate. Especially once you got Blood Thirst and Barbaric Retaliation. The best subclass for SC Barbarian is Furyshaper imo. The Blood Ward works with all kinds of damage you deal, including the DoT from Bleeding Cuts - but also Barbaric Retaliation, Dazing Shout and so on. It helps a lot with survivability and works for everybody in the aura range. The best damage tool of a SC Barb is either Driving Roar or Dazing Shout. They are both better than HoF - but they won't apply Bleeding Cuts of course (Barbaric Retaliation will though).2 points

Today NATO released an assessment that Russia's most elite and premiere large-scale army formation, the 1st Guards Tank Army, operating in the Donbas, is now effectively a ghost formation with no military capability, and that without 1 GTA Russia no longer has the capacity for conventional military operations against NATO now and for several years to come. WOO-HOO!! All you good folks in the Baltics, Finland, and eastern Europe can now relax and breath easy.2 points

According to one of our Main TV stations (which is in my eyes not the pinnacle of journalistic integrity, although they do have very high reliability, if they do not intentionally omit some stuff) Georgia will be holding referendum, whetter declare war to Russia, to take back Abkhazia and South Ossetia. Slovak trolls paid by Russia are now whining all over local “internet”. And I am enjoying it, while it lasts2 points

Real easy to scare people into voting for you when there's a gang war with shootings going on being pretty consistently reported on by the media. Even though crime generally is down. People are generally ignorant of the fact that our school system is on it's knees because politicians sold out our schools to the private market in the 90's and are now ill prepared to care for youths and give them a sense of hope for the future. The fact that they are orders of magnitude more likely to die from mistreatment at our failing healthcare system wooshes over peoples head all the time. As is the fact that while the left has had many periods they've had power in the Government, the Riksdag has had a right wing majority for the past 20 years. So when some "ex" neo-nazi politician spouts bull**** promising collective punishment (Deporting criminals and their families), no more immigrants, more police (Achieved through lowering standards, because noone with brains wants to work for that wage), increase prison sentances, lower fuel taxes, remove alot of the green conversion fuel mandates, increase the speed of A-tractors (If you're a Swedish driver, this would probably net you all votes from people living outside the big cities), raise road speeds, increase pensions and more populistic things.2 points

For subsequent playthroughs, either dark codex or tabletop tweaks has a mythic feat or ability that lets spontaneous casters use metamagic freely. The same mod also fixes the Arcane bloodline capstone to actually give you the ability to freely use metamagic instead of the lame effect it has. In other owlcat gonna owlcat, apparently the Sohei is actually the best archer monk. Because they can flurry with anything they have weapon training in (including weapon training from other classes) without specific restrictions, they can flurry with bows and use rapid shot/manyshot. And of course on top of this they get a horse. Lmao Zen Archer got robbed.1 point

House of the Dragon, episode 4. Not going to post much, things proceed at pace in all the ways they're supposed to, more or less. The show tried its hand at using sex scenes to convey something more than, well, nudity and talking exposition afterwards. It worked as intended, but it wasn't really good. Episode was fine. Everything about the series is fine enough for as long as it doesn't try to be epic than Game of Thrones. However, I'd say Game of Thrones had the better characters and better dialogue overall, and a better cast. House of the Dragon has nobody like Peter Dinklage, Jack Gleeson, Mark Addy, Lena Heady, Conleth Hill,... well, you get the idea.1 point

It's there to fill your spell levels and make Hellfire Ray (once you get it) go super-brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr with rods adding more metamagic to it. There's one thing you need to be aware of, the game makes metamagic'ed spells a full action for spontaneous casters. So if for whatever reason you need your move action for something else, like a Cackle, you can't cast a Bolstered spell. You can, however, use a Bolster rod. Owlcat gonna Owlcat. Would also recommend taking a couple levels of Loremaster to get Improved Critial: Ray and Creeping Doom from the Druid spell list if you have no other characters that can cast it. Ascendant Element: Fire and (Greater) Elemental Focus: Fire as well as (Greater) Spell Focus: Evocation are pretty much a no brainer, I guess. Might as well go all out. If you don't mind going all out on the cheese and click a bit (or install a mod that makes it easier), you can pick Protective Luck as one of your Major Hexes. It lasts only a short time, but you can extend that with Cackle. Cast it on a character, Cackle twice, cast it on the next character, Cackle twice, wash, rinse and repeat until you have a couple of hours of duration on your entire party. Just keep hitting that Cackle button and make sure everyone's in range. That, of course, also works with Fortune, improving your hit chances a good deal.1 point

Russia has attacked with cruise missiles and damaged dam near Kryviy Rih and caused flood in the nearby area and down to Inhulets river up to City of Kherson, endangering tens of thousands civilians… I am awaiting how someone would argue that it was still “valid military target”, and then complain about how bad NATO is…1 point

I'd recommend maxing INT and PER. You don't need high MIG as a barb unless you want to use Amra, and lower STR will also help mitigate the berserker fury damage. Flat DEX and STR is fine, and you'll definitely want to raise CON a bit for a berserker. You can dump RES for a party build, but not for solo IMO. Regarding dual axes vs. Amra, Amra is really great for barbs since you'll get basically double carnage. If you use carnage, you'll need to boost STR enough to be able to use it effectively.1 point

@dgray62 Funnily enough, I had also given some thought to roleplaying a fanatical revolutionary with the aim of liberating the Roparu and destroying the slavers, nobility and corporations. Pretty much would put me at odds with all the major factions in Neketaka. It's a shame there isn't really a Roparu faction in Deadfire (feels like an omission); I guess the new-blood anti-slaver arm of the Principi is the closest thing.1 point

Only when the dance begin! I mean the +10% freeze damage is only applied once on scoring an attack, then disappears. But with per 1s things like Pollen Patch or multiple Moon's Light in the same time, the wearer can attack with the lash and during recovery, get another lash effect for the next attack.1 point

Yeah, I was fine with Kiryu, Majima, et al. having a cameo in Yakuza 7... Like a Dragon 7... What do I call the series now? Anyway, I figured they'd have their cameos and then they would distance themselves and Ichiban Kasuga would have his own series. I disagree about the hair, though; I think grey haired Kiryu with the K-pop haircut looks badass. As long as my girl Saeko Mukoda comes back as a playable character, I'll be happy. As for Ishin!, I never got to play the original on account of not owning a PS3, plus I don't think it was released outside of Japan. I'm down for Kiryu & Co. in what looks like Edo Period Japan.1 point

I think, the relationship between Ukraine and Georgia has been positively boosted during the war, as Georgian are amongst the most numbered members of foreign legions, and they have a lot of know-how about soviet era/russian doctrines, so they should be amongst the most useful as well. As I said. We’ll see how this will unfold. As far as I know, even Estonia has raised demands to get back their territory, which was stolen from them by Russia during/after WW2…1 point

I can't think of a Fire Emblem game where permadeath wasn't at least an option. What I hope is that the difficulty is tuned better than 1. easy peasy 2.fairly easy 3. **** you like it's been the last few games. Owlcat doesn't seem to do DLCs well, then. I think they were really quite poor in P:K. I haven't bought any of them for WotR. The difference in DLC quality between the Pathfinder games and PoE games is huge, in my opinion. (The White March is superb, The Beast of Winter is superb, SSS is OK and the FS is good.)1 point

Took almost the entire length of the show, though! Boy, that'd be terribly lame. I mean, probably. I'm more open to religiously-inspired stuff than most, but Battlestar Galactica-ing it in completely tacking it on at the last second is pretty unacceptable to me, . (e): Also, I didn't mean to say Miyu and Noir were similar in content per se - just that their intended demographic would seem to be similar, I think.1 point

My max STR guy has 440 HP at level 20, Honey Badger, when I whispered him, had over 11K. It dropped to 7K later and then to 5K when I brought him back to HQ so it probably was affected by that Port-A-Potty buff before or something, still - 5K HP and he did in a clown guy in three bites when we got summoned to fend off a Steeltown gang attack. The only inconvenience is that if he gets set on fire it shears off a percentage of his health instead of fixed points...still, it's just an inconvenience, since pets get a full restore when you're changing zones.1 point

Currently leaning toward giving a little buff to evasive fire, but not as much as in version 1.0 of the game (where it dealt 20-36 damages) So I intend to make it 15-20 -> 20-25 damages And also 7 PEN -> 9 PEN so it would be more reliable. So the cap is below version 1.0, but slightly more consitent vs high AR. Flurry of Blades seems a bit underwhelming for a Tier VIII, even with the Shadow Step boost to 2 Guiles and 8s Paralysis. The AoE is only 1.5m radius and it has 5 PEN. I plan to give 5 PEN -> 7 PEN and 14-28 -> 25-35 damages. The benchmark here is Spirit Tornado and its instant 14-20 damages for 1 Rage, for 3 ability points and with other side effects.1 point

Indeed. The Ukrainian strategy here is brilliant. Gievn RU softness currently in the Donbas the UA is hitting them hard there, including the new offensive now into Luhansk. But the Donbas is what Putin and co. have been insisting the war is ALL about now for months. So how can they justify losing the Donbas while holding onto Kherson and the southern areas? So I now fully expect the Russians will have no choice but to pull out a lot of their forces in the south, including their best forces there, and move them (back) to the Donbas. And the instant that happens, based on that awesome real-time battlefield intel from the US, the UA will launch a big push in the south to take advantage of the Russian pullout. But even in the Donbas, those RU reinforcements will end up being too little too late (and they will take a pounding from UA artillery as they move). Many Western intel analysts now say RU has lost the ability to mount large-scale offensive ops, and can barely handle large-scale defensive ops. This is why all of this could be the endgame for the war ... and maybe why Lavrov yesterday finally came out of the hole he's hiding in to say that he was 'ready' for negotiations with the Ukrainians whenever they are willing to talk. Side-note: We can now also see in Libya, Syria, and the south Caucasus anti-Russian forces on the move because they all sense Russia's conventional military weakness.1 point

As a political scientist I am quite impressed how well, and consistently well, Zelenskiy has been with his political performance since the RU invasion. This particular line in that interview, which I had seen elsewhere, is pure political gold (and just plain awesome too): "Cold, hunger, darkness and thirst are not as scary and deadly for us as your 'friendship and brotherhood.' But history will put everything in its place. And we will be with gas, light, water and food ... and WITHOUT you!" (his emphasis)1 point

There is still a possibility of HRIM-2 system already existing. Neptune missiles were for everyone just a fiction, until they sunk Moskva. This one would be able to attack Kerch Bridge soon. But there is a lot of S400 around, and this if it exists, has definitely very limited stockpile of missiles, so shooting it to soon, might be just a waste of missiles and money for UA. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hrim-21 point

Generally speaking it's fine. The only problem might be that a 4-melee setup will have problems in tight spaces. Meaning they will have issues with movement/reaching the enemies because they might block each other/stand on each other's feet. This an be solved with one or two melee reach weapons (quarterstaff or pike). Either as alternative weapon set which to can switch to or as main weapon choice. Another thought: Priests are extremly valuable in PoE because they have very, very good and impactful party buffs (see Devotions for the Faithful - that spell alone is worth bringing a Priest) and also immunity spells against the most nasty afflictions (called "Prayer against <x>"). So my advice for the first run would be to include a Priest. They are not the best melee warriors - but they can be decent if build right, especially from the second row with a reach weapon. As a ranged character you can totally do that. Enemy shooters might target you a lot more often though if your endurance/HP, deflection AND armor is low though. So it's a good idea to stay stealthed until the enemies have focused fire on your tanks. A war bow is one of the best weapon picks for a ranged cipher. The best war bow for a cipher is The Rain of Godagh Field, but it comes late-ish. Before that you can use any war bow that you come across. Hunting Bows also work. There's an early one (Massuk Hunting Bow) that does a little less damage than the normal Hunting Bows but not only deals pierce damage but also crush damage (if the enemies' armor is more vulnerable to crush than pierce damage). That's a good backup-bow for when you meet very pierce-resistant or outright -immune foes. So, war bow or hunting bow is both fine - and the dps will be better than with any firearm. Firearms have hogher dmagae per hit but lower spd due to their slow reloading speed. They are great to use with special limited attacks like Rogues or Paladins have - because then you'll get the most out of those limited attacks . Cipher's don't have such special attacks so they work best with high dps weapons (like bows). PS: I forgot - welcome to the forum and congrats to the first post.1 point

Yeah, I did Solasta as a bunch of ~2 hour co-op sessions, and its length was about right for that. The campaign is utterly perfunctory, but I guess that's the intention, sort of a showcase for the faithful engine they've created. Feels like NWN's relationship with its campaign really.1 point
-
Solasta is not a long game and quite comfortable to play in short sessions. I completed it some time ago without DLCs. I can't quite point out why, but the game was extremely nice and comfortable to play, unlike DOS1-2 (it could be the lack of "lol, gotha" moments, precise controls, expressive visuals, meaningful loot and crafting?). Though, its main quest line was somehow linear. Wasteland 3. Replayed the first mission trice while testing the PCs. Ended up with a melee fighter and a sniper. For some reason I have the feeling that the Patriarch's children are going to die.1 point

doesn't matter... but when you think 'bout it, the only one gaining or benefiting from xp is the general, so am s'posing based on curious d&d legacy o' per kill xp rewards which pathfinder embraces, it would make sense to have the general do as much personal damage during combat as is possible. however, to answer @InsaneCommander, it don't make no difference at all. am actual kinda conflicted 'bout those xp acceleration crusade projects and council choices as am thinking the juice ain't worth the squeeze, but we invariably choose to boost general xp when available... 'cause? with these kinda games am kinda trained to never turn down an xp boost, so the fact we top out our general(s) with xp so early doesn't stop us from always choosing xp boosts. also, am much disappointed in the elk. not only is the elk not benefiting from hooves, but at the moment it is limited to a single attack regardless o' level, although you maybe add attacks through haste and the like. regardless, what could be the best animal companion, 'cause o' mighty charge and the multiple attacks, is current the worst. HA! Good Fun!1 point

Thanks @Boeroer. Completely forgot about the solo option tic. Another question... how do I lower my FF ability Curse duration? I tried using the stats @mepp22 listed above (8 Might, 10 Constitution, 10 Dexterity, 19 Perception, 12 Intellect, 18 Resolve) and with BB my FF curse duration was like 7.6 seconds at level 4 (6.0 Base + 5% Monk Power Level + 20% Intellect) . I know Clarity will help with this, but is my only option beyond that to just keep stacking Resolve? Lower INT, but then wouldn't that reduce AoE of Keeper of the Flame? Or is that not really as important? I did another FF character prior, and even at 5 INT, the curse duration at level 20 was still around 6.5 seconds.1 point

Having played through a decent chunk of Steelrising I can share some impressions: * The combat feels really good, easily the best of any Spiders game. I've written this before, but this game very much plays like Bloodborne. The controls are maybe not quite as crisp and refined as Bloodborne, but they are still responsive and combat is fun. There are times when an aggressive approach is optimal and times when it pays to play defensively, it's very important to know your enemies' movesets and tells. You can absolutely get killed by regular mooks if you get sloppy. * The enemy variety is impressive. I've encountered at least a dozen different enemies so far and that's not counting bosses. It's not just reskins either, the enemies have completely different movesets. * Sound design is top notch with wonderful period appropriate music that stays far in the background when you are exploring. During combat the music comes to the forefront, especially during boss battles. Voice acting is well done and I appreciate how Aegis sounds unnatural when she speaks while everyone else speaks like a normal human. The metallic sounding clanging and grinding of gears of the automatons is spot on for that steampunk feel. * Graphical fidelity does not quite reach AAA, but it's relatively close. In particular, lighting effects are fantastic. Animations look good and appropriately robotic. Little touches like the gears in Aegis' back glowing when stamina drops low (stamina takes the form of Aegis overheating when she's "tired") are appreciated * I can't speak for any other platform, but the game runs like a champ on xXxBOxXx. I've encountered one graphical glitch which I've written about previously, and nothing else; no crashes, no frame stuttering, it's been rock solid. Side note: You can walk through shallow water but deep water is instant death.1 point

LOL! Cannot resist the call of D&D. I even backed this game on Kickstarter. But it is definitely a case of loving it in spite of it being TB. I think that for 5e D&D, TB combat is tolerable because it can work well when done properly, as TA has done with Solasta. It's quite amazing, though, that a tiny developer like TA, using Kickstarter funds, has done a waaaaaaaaay better job of creating a decent combat system than Larian has done with BG3.1 point
