  1. given what were the utter fail o' prohibition, is kinda mind blowing that a mere fifty or sixtyish years would elapse before repeating the same mistakes... mistakes magnified by minimum sentencing guidelines voted 'pon and passed democratic 'cause society were not satisfied with the namby-pamby notions o' justice judges were embracing... or at least the conjured notions o' justice self-interested politicians were selling to the ignorant masses. am s'posing law & order as a political platform has been popular since before the athenians, and deterrence and reformation has always been at best secondary concerns for The People who demand criminals to get their due. HA! Good Fun!

  2. Definitely not working then. We don't even get that, the managers all deal with it. Of course the auditors have a policy that those can access data can not check in code and vice versa, and those that can affect data cannot access the application and vice versa. This is why I have 2 logins for Perforce and Citrix...

  3. Geomancer Stalkers can become quite sturdy (bc. self buffs + Stalker passive) - and the high accuracy bonuses make it more easy to land all sorts of spells on enemies. If a party member casts either Champion's Boon (Priest) or Tactical Meld (Cipher) on your animal companion it can engage up to 4 enemies which also gives you the bonus accuracy from Stalker's Link against every one of them - useful for the Lance's AoE hits and spells in general. Unfortunately AoE weapons like Spirit Lance don't work well with Wounding Shot (meaning the wounding effect doesn't get applied to enemies in the area of effect, only the initial target. But Concussive Shot/Tranquilizer does work with the weapon's AoE; that means lots of interrupts and buff-stripping in an AoE. Also Hunter's Claw/Fang etc. work with the AoE iirc, giving you multiple stacks of ACC/dmg or deflection bonus per strike (if you hit multiple enemies with the AoE). As @dgray62said, the Essential Phantom can be useful in all sorts of ways.

  4. By all means you could play a stalker geomancer. You could use your pet as a shield (bear is best for the additional AR) and attack from behind. Once you cast the lance, you can also cast essential phantom, which will have the lance too. Or you cast Concelhaut's Draining Touch and then cast the phantom; in either case, the phantom would have the summoned weapon for its entire duration. @Boeroersuggested a fine stalker geomancer build here.

  6. I read it as prison isn't doing much as a deterrent to crime and/or the prison population doesn't reflect crime rates. IIRC our prison population boom was tied to the war on drugs and sentencing law/policy changes

  10. Well, we got an audit incoming, and received a guideline for our behaviour in case of questioning. Reads a little like "What to do when the Gestapo walks into your office and starts asking questions", particularily the part about no talking back to the auditors.

  11. TLDR lol. OK, I actually read a decent number, and a depressing number of similar things apply to our 'left wing' government here.

  12. All, just run a solo hierophant few months ago (bm/ascnd), suboptimal build draft abusing Arkemyr invis rolftstomped 98% of encounters, tbh I got bored of it somwhere in BoW (I did FS, SSS and tested vs megabosses) bonus points for disintegration not breaking Call to Slumber lol edit another quirk was casting screaming souls on skeletal wizards with spell reflct on, you won't get dmg but AoE will trigger

  13. The Shining (yes I didn't like that movie, except Jack is always a good psyho), Running Man and Firestarter are what convinced me that Stephen King movies were usually going to be dreck, or at least only just barely connected to the source material. Carrie and Dead Zone were decent tho. Edit: and Dawson was the best thing in Running Man, agreed.

  14. Twitter made over billion loss in 2020, even though it revenue increased, which people have used as proof for their ideological beliefs, as in 2019 Twitter made over billion profit, but people seem to ignore that Twitter loss was because they made acquisitions, not because their business suddenly collapsed.

  18. Don't know about that. The plot made no sense. But then again it WAS a Schwarzenegger movie.

  19. Or is it...? (That was more or less the thought that inspired King's The Dark Half) Yeah it was, but The Running Man movie was a good Schwarzenegger film. So even if it wasn't as good as the book, I still enjoyed it.

  20. Could probably get deeper with it and ask "what is crime?" And then expand whether or not a state that has private prisons that financially benefit from incarcerated persons might impact the rates of criminality among the population (or subsets thereof).

  21. Heavy weapons it has to be a MK-19 for me. Have you ever seen anything do so much damage so quickly? Light weapons I’d say the M-249. The US had nothing close to it. The Thompson and BAR were short range only and had limited ammo capacity. The German MGs and British Bren were comparable in firepower but were much heavier and could not be carried or operated by just one man like the SAW can.

  26. I would like it if each weapon was more clear as to whether it is a spear, sword, dagger etc. The Mosquito Needle deals stabbing damage but counts as a sword according to the Blademaster Mutation. It is not a major issue but if each weapon could have a icon or label next to the damage type icon I think that would be a nice addition.

  31. I live by the oak tree and have had multiple wolf spiders somehow magically get through my walls and attack me. I’m lucky that I’m already far in the game and can defend myself and repair my home but to new users, it would be game breakingly annoying to die while you’re meant to be safe. I also had build gates by the oak tree entrances to keep the spiders contained for easy killing/harvesting but they somehow get through those as well now. I also have a bunch of red ants spawn or get through the walls and start getting into my stuff, eating my food. Weevils and aphids also somehow get in and I built a section of my home upon the rocks by the pond, so I didn’t need to build a floor in that building really but there are grubs somehow going through the rock? I can see their trail going across the floor lol

  32. I would definitely be interested, @Jayd. Like you, I like being able to quickly switch among the forms when playing a shifter. When the mod is available please let us know. Regarding @NotDumbEnough's suggestion, I would recommend not changing this. I believe that the lack of initial damage lets you cast disintegration on foes without breaking stealth or charm, which can be very nice for some builds.

  34. It's a bummer for women in Hollywood that after a certain age their parts become limited to grandma and witch (I'm exaggerating but you get the picture) whereas their male counterparts can still play action man or whatever well into their sixties. I'm not going to feel sorry for these rich and famous people, but it is unfair.

  35. I'd be for that totem and any future totems having an area effect; especially now that base raids are added in. I watched a YouTube trying to see if using two or more would create some kind of invisible barrier that ants wouldn't cross and while that didn't work I thought it was cool idea. I think it would be okay for it to work that way during non-raids time. During raids though I think the effect would need to be changed to shortening the amount of time they attack for... so perhaps not everything would be destroyed. You can already build walls around aunt hill entrances which can greatly reduce the number of ants roaming the map so I don't know that it matters that totems could be abused the same way.

  36. I'm all for diversity, but it shouldn't be pushed onto media via a metric that's tantamount to a quota. I feel like artist(s) having to go through a checklist and check off a certain number of boxes is not a healthy artistic process. The idea should come first and whatever diversity checkboxes it checks off is what it checks off. Sometimes that produces a game running the gamut of genders, ethnicities, etc. Sometimes that produces a game that's almost exclusively heterosexual 24 year old white guys with crew cuts and 5 o'clock shadow. Promoting a company culture that entices and welcomes artists of all genders, ages, sexual orientations, religions, and ethnicities is the way to organically produce diverse games, but that's more difficult for a company and takes time, so you don't get the instant results that said company can flaunt.

  40. If I had to go to war today with a WW2 weapon it would be the 1903 Springfield. No doubt about it. 2800 fps muzzle velocity with a max range of near 5k yds. With a decent scope it would rival any sniper rifle used today in range. But not kinetic energy and stopping power.
