@ComradeYellowYou’re in a desert walking along in the sand when all of the sudden you look down, and you see a tortoise, it’s crawling toward you. You reach down, you flip the tortoise over on its back. The tortoise lays on its back, its belly baking in the hot sun, beating its legs trying to turn itself over, but it can’t, not without your help. But you’re not helping. Why is that?5 points

Big Solasta update: New Campaign DLC got a name and release date: Lost Valley, coming on April 14th. It is: Sadly no new levels, but I am curious how more "branching" this new content will be. While I liked how straightforward the original campaign was and wouldn't want to change it, I think it would be better with more choices and reactivity. Either way new content in Solasta is welcome. But that is not all. Multiplayer Coop will be coming to all Solasta owners as a free update on April 14th, and there will be Beta Weekend starting on March 17th for anyone owning Solasta and interested in checking it out. Edit: I had info from email, here is steam announcement, with additional details: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/1096530/view/46899417633367750515 points

It would not help them. It would make them lose even faster. Putin and Lavrov have said many times in interviews, that for them Ukrainian nation does not exist. Without training and weapons from EU, they would destroy Ukraine sooner or later. NATO membership is just a scapegoat to recreate "soviet empire". It's the same with Belarus, just Lukashenko is to big of a **** and now a Russian bitch.3 points
-
It would not have been fine, as I think it's quite apparent now that Russia cannot - nor does it want to, or ever wanted in the first place - play nice with its neighbours. And judging by recent "NATO or no NATO" polls, Finland have not yet forgotten Talvisota as well. On slightly more bittersweet news, here's the ballsiest woman of Russia. Fingers crossed KGB filth do not disappear her.3 points

Well, Putins regime are a bunch of gangsters armed with nukes. I'd never run in front of a crook yelling 'I have a pact with the police and I'll have you arrested!' Ukraine joining NATO was obviously not the best way of negotiating with someone like Putin and the Oligarchs. Why confront someone if you are not willing to stand up to them?! Either way, Putin's regime days are numbered. I just hope that the Ukrainian people will be alive to witness it.2 points

It is my opinion as well, and the fact that the sword in the trailer is "Oathbinder" makes me think that we will play as an agent of Woedica which "leads" the invasion of the Living Lands. (Like in Tyranny). I agree with that, but Obsidian will need to do a much better (digest) introduction to the concept of Eora than in Pillars 1, Deadfire do a much better job in that regard in my opinion. Also I think that the "monster" at the end of the trailer of Avowed is a Maegfolc. Because of this skull : https://pillarsofeternity.fandom.com/wiki/Maegfolc_Skull. Why would the Engwithans place Maegfolcs (a kingdom) in the Living Lands, for what purpose?2 points

Russia got their ass kicked pretty big again in Mariupol yesterday. "Operational information from the General Staff: In the Mariupol direction, the enemy is trying to capture Mariupol. Ukrainian soldiers successfully repulsed the attacks of the invaders. The total losses of the enemy were about 150 people, 2 tanks, 7 infantry fighting vehicles and one armored personnel carrier. After the losses, the occupiers stopped the offensive and retreated." https://t.me/lumsrc/1455 There have been released also a lot of videos about this failed offensive.2 points

I think it is likely that Avowed will be set after the events of PoE2. According to the leaks Avowed will be taking place in Living Lands - it's not inconceivable as it sounds like a good setting for the game, and trailer could very much show Living Lands. Assuming the setting is correct, in the trailer we can see Aedyr's forces, which makes me think that The History of Eora, Volume XII: The Reclamation of the Living Lands book from the Forgotten Sanctum DLC has been teasing Avowed. It reads: That said if Avowed will be focusing on its own story the time period in which it is set would be irrelevant. If, however, Obsidian gave up completely on continuing Watcher's story in the future the aftermath of the event that took place at the end of Deadfire is a perfect opportunity to bring new audience up to speed, without them having to experience PoE1&2. Assuming of course they want to try wider audience with metaphysical aspects of PoEs, and won't try to craft something more... digestable.2 points

Black Geyser: Couriers of Darkness is set for a full release on March 17: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/1374930/view/3111426824836670909 I played some of the early access about (pausing--headmath) eight months ago. It was in pretty rough shape but from a glance through the steam forums it seems like it's been coming along well.2 points

Essentially what the title says- once the upper portions of the back yard are more fleshed out and it becomes even more necessary to travel to various parts of the back yard quickly in order to continue having enough of all the resources you need, a pulley operated elevator could be added. Locking an acorn top elevator that's operated via pulley system behind the woodpile chip or some other yet-to-be-added burgl chip to make the upper portions still intimidating and challenging to conquer would be a good way to reward players with a "soft fast travel" that works both ways unlike the ziplines which are 1 way only could be a desireable reward for players, even if it's the very last area of the game that rewards you with them. As it stands now, having my base near the woodpile is great but it's a challenge to return from excursions that would be alleviated only somewhat by a pulley elevator- but enough to actually feel rewarding without subtracting from the absolutely wonderful experience of running through the back yard and dodging bugs.1 point

Pretty sure you only have Panam in your ending if you side with the nomads for the end bit (or if you romanced her I suppose). There are a few different endings that play out differently, but several (not all though) share a certain 6-month characteristic.1 point

It looks like she was charged for hooliganism and only fined Clearly their was too much international attention on her arrest, the UN human rights commission even got involved. Good to know the Ruskies didnt want to martyr her and draw more negative attention to the train wreck of Putins War https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/mar/15/marina-ovsyannikova-russian-journalist-fined-for-live-broadcast-protest1 point

Sarex already beat me with operation paperclip, but there's also everything from supporting dictators and coups like Pinochet to police being infiltrated by white supremacists to congressmen going to white nationalist conferences. One way or another, the US does kick a lot of money to reactionaries. nb4 these aren't real nazis but sparkling white supremacists1 point

Why not co-written by a 13 year old psychopath and a mid 40ies housewife who thinks 50 Shades of Grey is the bee's knees? Anyways, that What the Hell was because the forum ate my post and replaced it with Gordon Cole reacting to Sonic. What the Hell indeed, I don't need a reminder someone made a video ranking the ladies from Sonic the Hedgehog everytime I post. But y u no romance Aru? Don't you want to play ムーンライト伝説 ? Or even better, go with Sosiel and use divine magic to become gym gods together. AYAYAYAYAYA!1 point

there is an extreme late game romance option: the game romances and achievements matter little to us, so am not sure what are the requirements, but we did include a link to a possible alternative to crazycakes. HA! Good Fun!1 point

Yep (it’s me), I am disappointed that Sawyer did not answer my question but in my eyes it makes more plausible the theory of the implication of maegfolcs in Avowed. Maybe Woedica is urging Aedyr to go there because of particular Engwithane ruins left there. It also reminds me of Tyranny, we are a Tunon agent who was recruited from different backgrounds according to our choice. It could be the same case in Avowed. Also our protagonist could be a Watcher, explaining why Woedica chose us.1 point

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2022/03/15/ukraine-war-latest-news-russia-putin-zelensky-kyiv-peace-talks/ I think a peace could be reached soon. Losing lives for the benefit of arming Nazi's for the sake of NATO is bound to end in defeat. Accepting Ukraine as a neutral buffer state isn't a bad deal, as you can do business with both "Worlds" (People still like to divide the world like a cold war conservative unfortunately).1 point

https://jesawyer.tumblr.com/post/672850479483617280/hey-mr-sawyer-i-was-reading-lore-about-poe-and-i The sword, the narration about oaths, Woedica's emblems would support this line of thinking. I was wondering if we could play as Arcane Knight - Aedyr's elite mage/melee hybryd. That could allow for a more defined protagonist while keeping some flexibilty of player's build. That might not be the case as Windows Central preview stated that Avowed but of course what exactly that means is up to interpretation.1 point

Shoutout to @Porkchopsandwiches247 for this build suggestion. This was a great build that really felt natural and consistent and did good damage. You get multiple sources for weapon attack lashes- Wildstrike (of whatever flavor you want but I went for Corrode), Lightning Strikes for lightning damage, and Turning Wheel for some fire. I would usually start a fight with a quick Woodskin or Delemgen buff (and maybe some drug use if I forgot to do so ahead of time as a Nalpazca) followed by either Nature's Terror or Relentless Storm and then shift into whatever form made the most sense. Nature's Terror is especially thematic because who wouldn't be scared of a drugged up Bear coming at you? Delemgen lets you close to your target in a snap. My thinking on the shifter forms was: Cat to quickly down an important single target, Wolf if I needed consistent interrupts, Bear for off-tanking, Boar to regen. But best of all (imo) is Stag with its AoE attack. Monk's Efficient Anguish knockback will hit multiple enemies in your Stag's AoE attack so you can just fling multiple enemies around the battlefield with it, like a cheaper Clear Out that uses a renewable class resource (wounds). At 1 wound cost and Nalpazca's wound generation you can cause A LOT of Anguish. Note that this may only work if using BPM as I can't remember now how the vanilla game's Stag attack works. Thunderous Blows helps you overcome penetration issues. Note: Cat/Bear do slash, Boar/Wolf/Stag do pierce, none do crush. Maybe one of them should do crush? Last- Dichotomous is funny to use when you're shifted because the copies are shifted also. I don't believe they get your animal claws, though.1 point

Yes, that's right. It's more useful on a longer-lasting summon like the Phantoms.1 point

Tough little tanks then. Though more often than not the twins die due to their relatively short summon duration rather than from damage in my experience.1 point

The best news from this war so far. https://t.me/suspilnedonbas/4363 "Rescue operation continues in Mariupol', about 2000 vehicles left before 2pm, 2000 more awaiting to leave towards Manhush -Beryansk-Tokmak-Zaporizhiye." Hope these Ukrainian civilians will get out of that hellhole safe, and their army will bring up many more losses to Russian armies there... EDIT: Unfortunatelly there are also more worrysome news from Mariupol1 point
-
I've heard the rumours as well, but this looks to me kind of over the top. But you really do not know. Yesterday also looked very heavy fighting at a lot of places around all of Ukraine. The Kharkiv situation is from what I read very interesting, because Ukraine are doing their best to disrupt Russian operations. There is definitely a big material and human loses on Russian side near Kharkiv, but the exact losses on Ukraine side around that region and Mariupol is unclear as well. Zelenskyi confirmed 1300 fallen Ukrainian soldiers so far. CIA estimates on Russia are about 4500 and other USA agencies up to 6000. Ukraine is telling more than 12000, and Russia still around 500. What gives me hope is that Ukrainian soldiers on the front on some of their in-action videos are telling, that they are lucky that the Russians are complete goofs. So easier for them to survive their mutual clashes.1 point

Sure but no one wants a war with Russia and no one wanted Russia to invade Ukraine so that we would see this proxy conflict Wars cost lives, destroy livelihoods and harm the global economy and they directly slowdown the global economic recovery after the lockdown So this was not something West wanted but now Putin started it and now the West, and indirectly, the rest of world is impacted by it especially countries that arent first world like SA and most of Africa1 point

I am living through what seems to be the last Wednesday of the year: people throwing handmade grenades around...God help the cats. This celebration(charshanbe suri) used to be different mind you, people would dance and drink but noooooo we can't have any of that anymore because..well...Islam! Live homemade hand grenades to someone's face seem to be less sinful than alcohol or dancing according to Islam...1 point

Death Godlike PL bonus is very situational, I mean at less you are planning to abuse of Baring Death Door, or if you have a great amount of health, it is not easy to keep the near death status for a long time. But it is possible however. Nature Godlike PL bonus is easy to get, but in comparison to bonus from helms (generally +2 to 1 stat, + some bonus, or equivalent) I personally think +1PL is low. Before, the bonus was too high in my opinion, +2 PL is more strong than the helms give. If you want a "stacking-PL" character, it is a good choice, in other case it is nice (especially for caster because how to PL work). Moon Godlike can be useful, vanilla game Moon and Fire godlike scales badly but CP correct that. It is maybe nice with an healer like Herald, or a regenerating tank. For a Bleak Walker/Assassin, maybe Moon Godlike can be cool, other godlike seems (to me) not great. In my concern, I would choose another race to equip a helm, early and at mid-game, they are already really good.1 point

*chuckle* the downside being there is far too many objective bad class and race choices. converse is more good options than the hardcore 1337 pathfinder/wotr sages will readily admit. HA! Good Fun!1 point

Just beat it. Overall I liked it. The story and characters were good. Combat was decent. Only thing I really didn't like was the ending. Not to spoil anything but the very last scene that maybe sets up a DLC made me the opposite of excited. Not sure if all endings have the same last scene I had1 point
