am thinking this preconception is also what surprised trump. were folks such as mcmaster, mattis and kelly who were the most constant and vocal contrarians in his own early administration. all trump needed hear when mattis' name came up as a possible cabinet position appointee were his nickname o' "mad dog." the President were shocked by the reality o' mattis compared to what he had imagined. should be no surprise to anybody that once the aforementioned individuals and their people were gone from the administration, that is when sh!te like the ukraine stuff happened and sending fed troops to portland occured. US military academies do a better job o' teaching critical thinking and problem solving than does most other american universities 'cause those skills is deemed vital for an effective officer. dunno, maybe is same kinda surprise people have when they realize that folks who went to georgetown and notre dame know so much 'bout islam and eastern religions-- at catholic universities, comparative religion is required curriculum unlike at public unis. milley's comments shouldn't be surprising to anybody, but they is. and yeah, just 'cause you got a good education and were exposed to many ideas is hardly a guarantee you learn, but chances go up if you is exposed to different ideas and is challenged to think critical 'bout such. am gonna repost mattis' op-ed from the atlantic. if you haven't read previous, please do. btw, general milley were perceptive enough to take the mattis comments as a criticism o' his complicity in the events o' lafayette square. immediate following the op-ed 'bove, milley delivered a statement apologizing for his presence in uniform leading to the understandable impression the US military were supporting trump and barr efforts at suppression. but yeah, am suspecting trump saw the great santini (no chance he read the book)at some point and thought it were a swell parenting guide. similar, am betting many persons think US command officers is some kinda alloy o' the worst aspects of all the movie generals and admirals they has seen... and lt. col. wilbur meechum. watch fox news and am understanding why such a preconception exists, 'cause conservative media somehow manages to dredge up the worst exemplars o' military leadership and sadly the reality is there is no shortage o' such. even so, individuals such as mattis, mcmaster, kelly and milley sounding erudite and open-minded should not come as a surprise. HA! Good Fun! ps and again, am not suggesting that all US military officers is capable o' coherent thought and self reflection. many is indeed the troglodytes with bad haircuts spouting jingoistic nonsense we suspect is the default image gorth has fixed in his imagination. even so, is no reason to be surprised or shocked when listening to generals such as milley or mcmaster.2 points

Hello guys, it’s my first time posting here, but I’ve been playing for at least two months, and I already tested every class and role in the game, but never finished. I also already been following this forum and reading about all builds I find. My idea is to go on a solo run, the main story at least. I want to use a kind of tactical assassin, something like the Agent 47. I don’t want a duelist, but I don’t want a hit and run only, I want something more in the middle. One of the class has to be Assassin. Trickster and SF doesn’t fit in the concept. I need the sneak attack bonus and don’t want to do long fights. About the other class, I am not sure yet. This is what I thought: Black Jacket: could change the weapons faster if the target comes into melee, and more survivability with the Fighter skills (Recovery, stance, armored Grace, unbending…) Ghost Heart: The ranger’s accuracy will give me lots of crits, another mobility skill, can summon the pet for distraction if needed Soulblade: provide good CCs and SA would help me finish at least one more target before I need to retreat Forbidden Fist: Monks provide some good buffs, and the FF could give me some heal. The idea is to open the fights with the arquebus, try to kill as many I can from range, then swap to melee and take down some more. But like I said, I don’t want a duelist, I want someone who can kill fast and vanish, not prolonged fights thanks if someone help me1 point

It does have like 4 seasons and several movies...kiiind of tough to see how such a flimsy concept for a show with already just okay at best execution could NOT go down in flames.1 point

Hey, I needed a crying Minako, so that's what I got. You remember when I said "maybe you shouldn't watch Crystal because it might ruin the original show for you", but then you said don't worry, that just couldn't happen? I think we overlooked the possibility of you ruining the show for OTHER people as a result of watching Crystal... That's one interpretation, and I think I initially tried to think a similar thing for a while, but at one point, there's a sudden cut straight into Kyoko's crotch when she's in the middle of an emotional episode and that was when I literally said "oh screw you, Madoka" out-loud; I was officially done from that point on. Some of the weirder sudden cuts to different points of view or looking super close up at a character's hands or lap is one thing, but that was my breaking point. I'm sorry, but proper framing (in both a literal camera sense in film/imagery as well as in a less literal more writing/thematic sense) is ultra important in pretty much all entertainment mediums, and Madoka repeatedly failed over and over to my standards. Well, enough whinging about Madoka - like I said before, literally almost absolutely nothing about that show worked for me, it is what it is. And here I felt like the fool for watching just the first one, . More Paranoia Agent: episodes 6 and 7. Thankfully, the bizarre nonsense from episode 5 did not continue. However, I'm starting to have trouble following this show's plot and themes in a coherent fashion, and I noticed that I completely misunderstood a major part of episode 6 for like...a solid fifteen, twenty minutes. I'm starting to get the feeling that I might need to bring out the old fan wiki to figure out what the hell this show was supposed to be about when I've finished it, .1 point

See, I wouldn't have known that there are two spin off anime series if you hadn't mentioned this having four seasons. So yay, more to watch! No, seriously, don't worry. I checked that out because I was curious, just like with Eden. I didn't jump into watching Overlord or Attack on Titan after all, so it's not just anime that's being talked about.1 point

Atlanta last won it when they weren't in Atlanta but St. Louis in '58. Clippers and Suns never won it but they also both started as teams a year or three before the time the Bucks won the championship... Preference is the home team of course, but I'd also be cool with any of the remaining teams.1 point

So i am having a great time with the game, but the building which i like the most needs some work, especially the placement aspect of it. Two things are really bothering me right now, and that is not being able to clip inside terrain and no option to turn off snap. These are the two things that any game with base building in it needs. Some times i can manage to glitch a piece in to a valid position and sometimes it only needs a different angle? And why can't some pieces rotate diagonally? Like the grass door and door frame, only rotates 90 degrees Ooo, and can we get half walls please? I really hope the building will get some more love from the devs.1 point

Late for the party - but here goes! I absolutely ADORED the PoE series. The first game is actually my favorite of all time - and that comes from someone who has been playing computer games since I was old enough to hold the computer mouse. *Literally.* Thing is - I played both PoE and Deadfire for the first time *less than 6 months ago.* I do not have any real nostalgia associated with the products (although, I certainly feel nostalgic listening to PoE music tracks on YouTube), as I was late for the CRPG party overall and been playing everything from BG2-3 (EA), DA:O, DOS2, Tyranny, Pathfinder: Kingmaker and, of course, PoE since fall 2020. And, like I said, PoE was by *far* my favorite (not just among CRPGs, but OVERALL) - and that is although I sincerely enjoyed each and every one of these titles. My heart broke a little when I wrapped up the series to move on to Pathfinder: Kingmaker (I had the post-series depression for days). It might be because I come from an ARPG-heavy background - with a lot of games like Diablo, Grim Dawn, some Path of Exile and Wolcen - but eveything about PoE(1) rubbed me the right way. The main plot felt personal, with a moderate sense of urgency instead of "yeah uhm, doomsday is near - but imma solve your pity squabbles anyways" (like stated in the comments above). I enjoyed the combat (despite having a poor history with RtwP since DA:O that really had me struggling), I absolutely adored the available voice acting and I would any day prefer that kind of quality over full VO, I loved *each and every single one* of the companions of PoE(1), the music was so beyond next level that I have an entire playlist dedicated to Justin Bell, and I did every single companion quest line during my very first playthrough. Cannot say I did the same for Deadfire. Deadfire was a good game in many aspects - especially regarding combat (and multi-classing <3), the small "book"-events that even included individual characteristics of the companions (loved these sooo much!), well written romances (although disappointing endings to them, imo), continued amazing companion interactions (their monologues that pop up during quests and events) - and of course, yet more amazing music! ... But I also experienced a lot of issues with Deadfire that never occurred to me in the first game. Like the very long intervals of dialogue silence during side quests (as companion dialogues only would pop up after progressing the main story) - which lead to the remarkable time of *13 hours real time dialogue silence while I wrapped up some side-content*. Then once I proceeded with the main story - ALL of my companions wanted to chatter at the same time (right in front of our enemies!!). That left me very annoyed and "un-immersed", and quite honestly? I struggled picking up the immersion in general after that (this must've been around 30ish hours in). The ending also left a rather sour taste in my mouth - and without giving any spoilers I just felt like I didn't get the option to explain my reasoning to Eothas properly and that the game read my motivation all wrong. I mean - I felt like my choice of action (and reasoning) was anything but unique and mind blowing (judging by previous commentary), yet the writers did not seem to account for it at all - although they included passages that were much more complicated / elaborate (which is a good thing! I just wish they would have any reasonable response for people in my seat). Either way - the way Eothas interpreted my actions, and (more importantly) the lack of proper explanation-options from my side had me salty for WEEKS! Anyways, back on the main subject - I also watched the "Breaking the mold"-presentation and read many of the interviews with Sawyer - and they break my heart. It saddens me to see Sawyer's apparent disappointment in a, imo, not just great but FANTASTIC game series. I remain hopeful for a PoE3 - and I'd be willing to wait more than 10 years if that is necessary. HOWEVER, I only want PoE3 if the developers come back to it with the same love and effort that radiated throughout Pillars of Eternity (1). Otherwise, I'd prefer them to leave the two games as they are and have the developers move on to something else that they can properly fill with genuine love and attention - no matter how saddened I'd be. I get that the investments require success because... Well, companies need money to not bankrupt. Especially since they nowdays are with Microsoft that really want to maximize their profits. But I really, really, really wish that the developers could see PoE2 not for what it became (which is not a bad game by any standard, even if it did not reach their expectations), but rather - the absolutely AMAZING game that it could develop into if they just gave it some time, love and thought. :[ I also very much hope that Obsidian realize that a huge blame for the poor start was due to limited marketing! I would have bought the game in a heartbeat, had I known about it at the time... But alas - I did not, and I arrived many years later as a result. Deadfire might not have been perfect - but nothing will ever be when you choose to experiment with new techniques and get rushed the way they did. It was overall a great game - and more importantly, it pawed a good path for a PoE3 with the data that you acquired from the successes and failures of Dreadfire. Sorry for the long post - I just feel very passionate about the entire series as they, imo, make the best CRPGs in the market (from someone with no nostalgic bias :] ).1 point

when the op-ed were penned, every US Senator, republican and democrat, were aware the trump and barr use of fed troops to suppress protests were Unconstitutional, and if such had occurred post ww2 until 2016, there woulda' been reflexive bipartisan condemnation o' such excess. by the summer o' 2020 we were no longer surprised by the gop refusal to deny trump efforts to indulge even previous unthinkable exercises o' executive power. were disappointed even so. mattis condemnation o' the militarized fed response to protests were what every senator were already knowing, and near half were pretending as if such were no biggie. worse, many were public stating such authoritarian bs were complete justified. as an aside, we specific mentioned senators and not Congressmen. we usual have more than a few l00ns in the House, and there is typical one or two crackpots and dingbats in the senate. tommy tuberville (that is his actual name) is the current senate court jester, but he were only elected this last november. HA! Good Fun! ps @Malcador the clip does not provide full context. gaetz were the t00lbag complaining 'bout wokeness in the military and milley asked for a chance to respond, but gaetz refused. a subsequent legislator offered a portion o' her time so milley would have a chance to respond... to gaetz. longer clip observe gaetz reaction at 6:54 to being chastised by milley.1 point

What was the problem with the referee vs Argentina ? Besides, Argentina losing is a win for everyone. For both of the Roger Corman blu rays I ordered they came with double sided covers: For Forbidden World I will use the theatrical cover despite the fact that I think Allan Holzman's Mutant director's cut is a better version of the movie. For Galaxy of Terror I will use the Mind Warp cover. I mean the theatrical cover is great, but the Mind Warp cover is AMAZING. More movies should come with double sided covers if the movie went through multiple cover arts/titles, as many movies do.1 point

Just like my ex wife. I wouldn't recommend it for you, but there is something that keeps me going. us state governments figured out how to craft driver's licenses. am pretty sure the fed could come up with a kinda vaccine id if such a thing were deemed necessary. the problem is you got 'tween 20% and 30% o' the country believing mandatory vaccination is unconstitutional and even ungodly. make illegal to work or shop for groceries or buy their guns at walmart w/o proof of vaccine only further convinces such people they is being persecuted. january 6 shows what happens when enough people, many o' whom howled 'bout the lawlessness o' blm and antifa during the summer, nevertheless feel complete justified in their own overt lawless behavior. joining a mob bent on stopping the electoral college process, and storming the Capitol to achieve such an end? many (most) o' the january 6 insurrectionists believed they were being patriotic as they forced their way into the Capitol, bent on overturning the election results. compel people to get proof o' vaccination will lead to further radicalization o' the lunatic fringe, and if you think am exaggerating, you weren't paying attention to a few o' the more vocal far right supporters who disappeared from these boards after the november 2020 elections, and you ain't listening to a few o' the diehard "i know my rights" persons who continue to post. the ultimate goal is to get more people vaccinated, yes? tell Americans they is required to do something and some significant percentage o' the population is gonna do the opposite just to prove they cannot be forced into doing anything against their will, even if by doing so they is hurting themselves and others. bears repeating, but mandatory vaccinations is, 'ccording to existing Court decisions, the law o' the land. the thing is, you can't actual force persons to be vaccinated, as contradictory as that sounds. can require vaccinations if you wanna go to school or be in military or even if you wanna work for state or fed or any number o' other circumstances, but you can't force persons to get injected. not wanna be injected as a private non essential military personage? can't force it. could require you to quarantine and potential could put you in prison, though that would be self defeating as you would then have a whole lotta unvaccinated people forced into crowded conditions ideal for spread o' disease. us ain't china. particular given how right wing media has turned vaccinations into a political and liberty issue for many, compulsory vaccinations would no doubt get a few more people vaccinated, but it would also guarantee that a significant number o' americans would oppose getting vaccinated under any circumstances, and you would no doubt help radicalize a considerable number o people, and not just those folks living in florida. HA! Good Fun!1 point

First I want to say you are making the game too easy for people that don’t like a little challenge. First no booping and now Burgl chips are shown on the map? big arrows over the tapes? where’s the fun in that? Hopefully you’re not going to draw maps to all the raw science that is scattered. Or give warnings to the player if they are getting too close to an unseen predator. This is a survival game. Those who can’t survive should go back and play in the sandbox. Well that would of course depend on what the sandbox/planter box turns out to be May as well give each player a life jacket before they take a dip in the pond Need more options to check or uncheck when setting up a game I think. Chip displayed on map on/off or maybe a cheats on/off option One bug I just noticed.. not sure if it existed before 10.0 but walking over grass planks jerks character around and flips the grass all over. Single and multiplayer games keep crashing. I have auto-save set to every 5 minutes because I want to play but it’s like I’m watching Groundhogs Day Can’t wait for the full update.. Playing on Xbox..1 point

-
I am hoping we see another Pillars of Eternity. I much prefer the first one over the second - mostly because the way the second one opens - it's pretty "urgent" to take care of the "walking statue" - so it seems odd when you sail around and pick up trivial quests like, "Can you drop off this letter at that island over there because I don't have the time?" "Oh sure. I mean it's not like there's this world ending 500 foot statue just walking around. Let me go ahead and be your mail-person."1 point

Maybe it's because I'm not terribly imaginative when it comes to names, but I like to look at the actual name of the race to come up with lore-friendly names. For example: The Aumaua--I get kind of a Hawaiian/Japanese vibe from the name, so I think lots of dipthongs and phonetic spellings. Which produces names like, "Kua Nin," "Sarua," "Raua'Tain," etc., etc. Then for the Orlans I fixate on the "Or" or the "Ln" sounds, and think of "foresty" words like squirrel or acorn. Which produces names like "Orsinne," "Oruebb," "Erstoln," "Maerln," etc., etc. Culture can also inform name choices. I look to the real-life analogs for inspiration. IE Old Vailia = Spain, Aedryr = Britain, Dyrwood = English Colonies, Glanfathans = Native Americans, etc., etc.1 point
