If the country having a "masculine military" means being conscripted into a force that is cosmically corrupt, its equipment constantly facing readiness issues and modernisations deferred, and myself getting the stuffing beaten out of me on a daily basis, honestly, I think the US military is in an alright place.7 points

Star Trek Voyager Gothic by quasi-normalcy @Tumblr You've been on this tiny ship in the Delta Quadrant beyond any hope of recrew or resupply for over a year, but you keep seeing ensigns you don't recognise. Everyone tells you that they've always been here. You go down to Engineering looking for Lt. Carey. B'Elanna tells you that he's just stepped out. He's been "just stepped out" for days. A shuttle crashes on a desert planet. You speak with Chakotay about the possibility of trading for some new shuttles, but he looks at you funny and says "but we already have a full complement of shuttles". You run to the shuttlebay and inspect them personally. There is a full complement of shuttles. And none of them even have a scratch. The next week, a shuttle is torn to pieces in a plasma storm. You're not even surprised when you find intact it in the shuttlebay an hour later. You stop mentioning shuttles. The ship has an encounter with some Kazon, but manages to get away. Their ships are primitive and slow and you shouldn't run into them again. Two weeks later, you meet the same Kazon, now somehow in front of you. You begin to suspect that you're driving in circles. You go to Engineering looking for Lt. Carey. You haven't seen him in two years. He's "not there right now, but should be back in a minute". Janeway and Paris travel at Warp 10 and turn into salamanders. You're *sure* that it happened. You *remember* it happening! But no one brings it up. When you ask Tom about it, he doesn't even register the question. You scream "BUT YOU WERE A SALAMANDER!" into his ear. He doesn't even hear you. You see another Ensign you don't recognise. You finally just ask the computer for the crew complement of Voyager. You are told that the answer is: 121. A month later, the Hirogen conquer the ship, spend weeks brainwashing and surgically altering the crew into believing that they are actually characters in holographic simulations, and then hunt them for sport. This culminates in a pitched battle between the crew and the Hirogen in which the ship is utterly wrecked and dozens of people are killed. Afterwards, you ask the computer for the ship's crew complement. You are told that the answer is: 147. The next day, you wake up and find Voyager restored to its original state. You make a discreet inquiry about Lt. Carey. Now everyone acts like he's dead but can't tell you precisely when or how. The Captain takes you aside one day and specifically instructs you not to mention Ensign Jetal to the Doctor. She says that she knows that this will be difficult, given how close we all were to her (and you in particular), but that for the greater good of the crew, you need to act like Ensign Jetal never existed. You solemnly nod your head and consent, and she gives you a comradely pat on the shoulder and leaves the room. You have absolutely no idea who Ensign Jetal is. Voyager absorbs the remaining crew of the USS Equinox. Well at least you'll finally have an explanation for the new crew you see around the ship! You never see any of them ever again. You've now travelled almost 40,000 light years towards home. You check the star charts; somehow, you're still in the Delta Quadrant. You begin to wonder if the Beta Quadrant even exists. The Delta Flyer is destroyed by Borg torpedoes. You don't even bother to check the shuttlebay for it, you just instinctively know that it will be back. A few months later, the Captain gives you the sad news: Lt. Carey is dead. You finally make it back to the Alpha Quadrant, say your tearful farewells, and receive a handshake and a promotion from Admiral Paris. As one last thought before leaving Voyager forever, you pay a visit to the shuttlebay. You find it utterly empty, except for one lowly crewman with a mop and pail, swabbing the deck. "I...guess that Starfleet must have already cleared out the remaining shuttles?" You say uncertainly, your voice echoing in the cavernous, empty room. The crewman breaks off his mopping and looks at you like you've lost your mind and says: "Voyager never had any shuttles."4 points

Will the Highlander reboot have The Kurgan as the villain? I like Sean Connery and Christopher Lambert, but it was Clancy Brown's performance that carried that movie. He was magnificent.3 points

In the summer before I went off to college I started looking for a summer job, my parents hoping that the funds would go towards paying off the eventual student loan debt but actually went to a new graphics card. I got a job working for the night crew for the local supermarket. In spite of my high school career running cross-country and track my feet ached to the point that I couldn't have a lie-down fast enough once I clocked out, and I got the worst case of eczema on my hands in my life opening a ton of cardboard boxes. One family dinner I plaintively confessed to my parents that I couldn't imagine myself doing that line of work for the rest of my life, to which they simply told me that I should have an idea why they were constantly on my case about taking my studies seriously. I suppose I ought to be thankful. After a brief stint working in a copy and print store after graduation to supplement my freelance income I managed to land a relatively cushy white-collar job, which was just as well since with the onset of the pandemic my position transitioned relatively painlessly to a work-from-home arrangement. I guess what I'm trying to say is I'm a milquetoast softy.3 points

ok, this is gonna sound like grumpy old guy pov, but this is an opinion we had since short after our matriculation. our advice for those considering university is as follows: don't. get a blue collar job, or join the military. especial as comrade is so enamored o' the cccp, then perhaps he should first get real experience as a worker and some part-time job doing pizza delivery or some such hardly counts. contrary to myths, repair a few miles o' barbwire fence line in sub-zero temperatures o' a dakota or wyoming winter or dig irrigation trenches for rich people's homes in so cal or arizona during the summer don't build character. hard work won't make you a better person. will give perspective and chances are if you then do go to university after a couple years, you will have greater appreciation for the opportunity. perhaps you is physical not cut out for physical toil? if you have the means, volunteer inner city food bank/homeless shelters. university ain't real. people condemn the safe place language linked to universities but universities should be safe for everything 'cept uncomfortable truths. am quite happy to have universities be a comfortable zone o' safety divorced from reality, but too many university students spend four years in fantasyland thinking they has learned the secrets o' the universe when fact is many such kids has never been in the real world. so, our advice is as follows: get a job. HA! Good Fun! ps full disclosure: we did not get a job after high school and before going to university as we were an athletic scholarship student, but we had worked on a ranch for years and we had summer and winter jobs from time we were thirteen including blm wild horse roundup, roofing supply and ranch hand work from people who paid better than our grandparents.3 points

Lol... you can also get youself a permanent Spiritshift weapon that way. Unfortunatly the Boar's raw DoT is not tied to the weapon but to the Spiritshift modal itself. But still: cool weapon to have. The Cat's Claws are best imo because they have the same base damage as the others but only 3 secs recovery. The coolest thing is to get the Storm Blight weapons I think. Spiritual Weapons and Reaping Knives won't stay. So far only Enchanted Armory and Spiritshift.3 points

Cast Citzal's Enchanted Armory Summon Concelhaut's Draining Touch (you cannot attack with it bc. of glitch) Wait until Enchanted Armory wears off end combat so Draining Touch disappears and Great Sword reappears enjoy your permanent, scaling, one-handed Great Sword - that you can give to whomever It's kind of nice to have a one-handed sword that has +1 PEN and +5 base damage compared to a normal sword. It's like having a unique sword with really good dps enchantments. Also you can use it with one-handed style + modal and get +2 ACC, +30% dmg and +15% crit conversion. I would love to also get the one-handed Morning Star or the armor (especially the armor) - but so far I couldn't find a way.2 points

Except for the corn and the watermelons the garden has been completely picked. I took 12 hampers of veggies to the Green market this morning and now I’ve got 55 bucks burning a hole in my pocket. And I’ve also got about 10 baskets of veggies in the kitchen that have to be washed bagged or canned or otherwise preserved. Going to be a busy day. The upshot is there’s plenty of great stuff on TV today. The Panthers/lightning playoff game comes on at 11:30. After that the Marlins play the Mets and after that the Habs/ maple leafs playoff game comes on. Definitely a good TV day.2 points

You merely failed to appreciate my complete, empathetic, and eternal rejection of all things modern anime...and the actual reasoning behind it and how that would apply to Madoka, . Speaking of terrible modern anime... https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/h1ps4yjrqgiv5zc/firefox_DvsDGWK47y.png Doesn't look quite as good as the original series, but it never does, does it? Although at least it's nowhere near as horrific as Crystal... (e): why can't I get any pictures to embed in this post, that's really weird I probably won't ever feel that way, as that style of voice-acting with all of the different unpleasant mouth sounds and such is just too grating for me, but it currently beats listening to that terrible Kerberos English VA, .1 point

I loaded up Stoneshard today. The game is still in beta, but I haven't played it in awhile, and it has come along nicely. I think this will eventually become one of my favorite RPG's to tool around in. If you haven't checked it out, it is super deep and a bit unforgiving. Ok, super unforgiving.1 point

Of all the good music we had I can't believe where we ended up...1 point

Apparently the producers liked inviting musicians to play roles just to see what they'd bring to the table. Which is why so many ended up putting in appearances, and some became recurring characters. The likes of: Jim Byrnes as Joe Dawson Roger Daltrey as Hugh Fitzcairn Roland Gift as Xavier St. Cloud Joan Jett as Felicia Martins. One of the Kemp brothers. Sheena Easton as Annie Devlin. Vanity as Rebecca Lord. Amid a fair few others.1 point

They better bring back Adrian Paul. I guess Lambert too, but that's not a dealbreaker. Apparently Paul teaches swordfighting in Colorado Springs. @ShadySands, it sounds like you have a new assignment. https://gazette.com/arts-entertainment/highlander-adrian-paul-to-teach-sword-fighting-in-colorado-springs/article_8cddea20-a91c-11eb-afe4-ef60cb926d3a.html1 point

How did you like Harukito's performance? First good morning and I was like "Ohayo to you too, Haruka!" Now imagine that being Shinji... The takes the anime a few episodes to become more than just a Sailor Moon ripoff. Or, maybe not "more" but something else. It's the first thing I thought when Sakura sleeps too long and hurries to school: "Hey that's a younger Usagi with roller blades." Having Ami and Haruka as VAs in it didn't help that initial impression. I actually really like Sakura's voice acting (her VA is also named Sakura... Sakura Tange), or rather, I've grown to like it. It ends up being a completely adorable combination with her animation in a way that I can't imagine liking any other voice actor for her (especially in scenes where she's embarrassed by something), but indeed, she's not entirely convincing as a young girl. The only character I find annoying when it comes to the voice acting is Meilin (if you see me writing Meiling at times... go figure, but that's wrong), and I think that's sort of on purpose. She's meant to be annoying. She is annoying, but it gets better after a while. Dramatic effect spoiler! I also figured out why Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card looks so bad. It was made in 2018. No wonder.1 point

effing hell, so I caved in and bought red dead redemption on steam and that piece of $hit requires some stupid rock star social club nonsense. Why I can't just play my games? Why is it so hard to make just a game without billion social features. I am very tempted to just refund this....1 point

Right. Good idea. I didn't try it but maybe if one exports a lvl-1 hireling with those swords it could be rel. inexpensive (because the game might interpret them as gear of lower quality)? Will try that later...1 point

at some point we wanna do an oracle with nature and battle mysteries + three levels o' sacred huntsmaster. take lame curse and make certain we get travel domain from sacred hunstmaster to effective nullify the malus o' lame. the friend to animals nature power mixed with a couple of teamwork feats looked like a great combo if you like animal companions and/or summons. getting the charisma modifier added to ac is nothing to sneeze at either. few posts back we mentioned how am admitted kinda addicted to animal companions and trip. is not many downsides to nature oracle other than crappy skills and as such we might eventual breakdown and try just the nature oracle + sacred huntsmaster seeing as how the second mystery thing is still busted. am knowing oracle merges the angel spell book, so is obvious synergy, but we were thinking o' trying azata anyways. we kinda like owlcat's azata from an rp pov, but it does push you hard chaotic as you get deeper in the game and as we got further into the mythic quest lines we were recalling just how much we dislike d&d/pathfinder alignment. am kinda stuck pre drezen act 2 as a few bugs made progress tedious though not impossible. HA! Good Fun! ps am not certain if is still working this way, but in the previous beta build, the sacred fist ac bonus for charisma were stacking with oracle nature mystery ac bonus.1 point

I don't find that director's departure particular;y troubling for the next Witcher game. If anything I think it is a good thing. The same people working on a franchise game after game is what turns a franchise into something stale and boring. For creativity to flourish, there needs to be some refreshing and turnover of the creative talent from time to time. And in the case of Witcher, that game 4 will not have anything to do with Geralt's story is the perfect point at which to have some creative refreshing.1 point

x3 Size multiplier x1.5 Size multiplier Download: Orlan Bear Spiritshift Scale Fix.zip This increases your size when spritshifted by 50% (see the lower image), should only apply to Orlans. You can change the size multiplier by editing the following line in statuseffects.gamedatabundle: "BaseValue": 1.5, This only fixes the (non-Shifter) bear form, is that ok or would you like all me to include forms?1 point

Fair enough. Especially if you've done the principi already, makes sense to go with someone else. My whole personal theory against rauatai was 1) too big of a threat and 2) relied on man's creation of weapons and technology over faith in the gods I was tempted to go with the queen but she just annoys me too much personally. I think it makes sense though. They are the smallest threat and are very God fearing. Principi I figured gave me the most personal influence and since I'm Woedicas faithful follower, that power would be hers.1 point
