  1. Feel free if you'd like to post about a time (there are probably many) when Boeroer un-stuck you from a difficult situation in Deadfire, or opened your mind to new possibilities with a fantastic new build/combo of mechanics. For me I must say it was back in PoE 1 with his adorable Bilestomper build. What a delight this little dude was! @Boeroer here is a cake made of cheese for you on behalf of this community:

  4. I have an 11 AM appointment at Bradford‘s to get my first shot. Of course I will still be socially distancing after the second shot but it will be because I just don’t like people rather than that I’m afraid of what they might have.

  7. I got myself a birthday present: It's mostly 70s and 80s Hong Kong wuxia cinema with a handful of blaxploitation movies thrown in for whatever reason (I'm certainly not complaining). This is exactly my kind of cheese, fake Bruce Lee clones and all.

  9. made sloppy joes a few days ago. served on hamburger buns. will be hamburger buns today and tomorrow and possible the next day. am suspecting if we run out o' buns we will eat sans bread or perhaps on our eggs, and am still gonna have sloppy joe leftovers. we don't use green bell pepper in our sloppy joe mix. *gasp* replace with jalapeño. we always make far too much for one or even two people. isn't too much o' a problem as we prefer sloppy joes the next day after the meat has genuine absorbed all the sloppy goodness. HA! Good Fun!

  10. Made grilled chicken (not one of mine) and string beans and a slice of watermelon. Simple is good. I cooked some gizzards for Sunny. She is finally learning to control herself and take them gently.

  12. Agreed. Seems like here in IL they have swarms of drones that will blowdart you with the vaccine if you walk outside. I guess Ive just lucked out so far that they havent yet found any issues with the Moderna shot.

  13. The whole fam already has their first shot. You can count on that, Jack. At least the threat of some superspreader coughing into my mouth when Im yawning, penetrating my mask, and getting me sick is reduced. As is the possibility of my potentially asymptomatic oral and nasal mists infecting a high risk individual.

  14. It does feel like Obsidian somewhat backed themselves into a corner with resource management in this game. Agreed that things like Blood Mage and Tactician make for some very compelling power play options, and also ask very interesting questions of the player (ie. burst vs sustain and so on) - but Megabosses for all the challenge and strategy involved do seem to automatically rule out certain subclasses or necessitate the inclusion of others. So yeah, the inclusion of something akin to a 'blood druid' in execution would be great! Perhaps a perma-wildshape form maybe - and really own that whole were-animal vibe!

  15. As much as the show takes from anime and manga, that had to be intentional. Yellow Diamond wishes she had that mullet though.

  16. I have a confession: I really love the druid / paladin. I know, I know, it sounds weird. But there are a lot of fire spells. Like, a whole lotta fire spells. And you can be like a druid purifier, who sets the world ablaze so new growth can take root in the ashes of what once was. Firebug is one of my favourite spells. Can't say why, I just like the theme of it. And there are so many variations of druidic orders and paladin orders to mix, each of which gives a totally different theme and feel to the character. But, if you lean into the fire angle heavily, you end up fairly powerful. Plus, you get utility, heals, status effects, and dots. A Kind Wayfarer / Lifegiver is one of the best healing tanks you can make, and you have tons of brute force. It's easy to play both ranged and melee, as you have skills available to you that allow for both.

  17. I have pretty well blown my whole morning researching on the web if Hector was a real man or purely mythical. Agamemnon was real. Being the king of one of the few Greek states that would eventually survive the bronze age somewhat intact makes that one easy. Priam was real according to the Hittites. They would know. They described him as restless and war like. They also said his heir was named Alexsandur not Hector or Paris. Paris and Helen and likely Menelaus were all mythical. Odysseus as King of Ithaca was a real man. But the historical figure would have lived and died long after the Trojan war took place if it ever did. But Hector is a bit of a mystery. It seems there is a Mycenaean account in Linear B of Hektor of Hatti being buried in Thebes. Same guy? Who knows. That would mean Achilles didn’t kill him end drag his body around the walls of the city. But since there was no Achilles it’s a pretty safe bet that didn’t happen anyway. has anybody ever looked into this? Does anybody know? @Hurlshotdo you know a thing or two about history. Any insight? Very curious.

  18. For all-time classics like Five Deadly Venoms, The 36th Chamber of Shaolin (greatest training montage movie ever), and The Legend of the Drunken Master, I'm quite happy to buy an individual copy for each of those, plus I'll see if high quality 4K Blu-Ray transfers exist.

  21. Honestly I didn't mind Lars (keeping in mind he was supposed to be unlikeable) or the Cool Kids that much, and I'd go as far to say that Sour Cream is actually funny. Onion could be annoying or creepy and was unpleasant to see focused on, but thankfully that didn't happen too much. Of course, Ronaldo was the best townie character (and the part of Food Wars where he really did have a girlfriend was perfect). It's not just the length of the episodes, it's concurrence as well. Super S had long stretches of bad episodes with few breaks while SU was over in 11 minutes and usually led to a good few episodes. That's a big reason why I was able to go through SU so fast.

  25. dallas being dallas early last year there were concerns 'bout micah parson's maturity level and how he handled himself. "high-maintenance" were the criticism. character o' parsons were a concern, but considering how talented were parsons on the field, most teams were willing to deal with a potential diva. ... micah parsons were gonna go first round, but by all accounts he were deemed undraftable by more than a couple teams. bears trading up to get fields is complete understandable, and likely dooms fields. nagy and the bears gm were unlikely to last the season unless something dramatic happened. draft an og or cb were not gonna change the bears fortunes, so am understanding why nagy and pace embraced stoopid and went all-in on a qb. unfortunate, thanks in part to injuries, the bears ol last year were terrible, and it didn't get better in the off season. won't matter who the bears put in at qb if you have one o' the league's worst run blocking squads, and a sub par pass blocking group. a bunch o' experts thought fields would go to the broncos. cris collinsworth o' nbc and bengals fame did not join the herd, but that is cause in his pre draft mock he had new england trade up to get fields at 7, and then had carolina take mac jones at 8. am thinking the broncos made a smart pick, but am s'posing if the unlikely happens and a bears drafted qb ends up being fantastic, then the broncos could look foolish, but only if surtain busts, which seems unlikely. horn, the other arguable top cb, got flagged for pi five times last year and had numerous holds as well. five times. surtain woulda' been our choice as the #1 cb available, so the broncos choosing him were a safe money bet at a position o' need. jeremiah owusu-koramoah is the 8th best player according to that nfl.com list we shared earlier. pro football focus graded jok as second best defender in slot coverage in cfb last year... as a +220 lb? didn't go in round one? can hear the sicilian say, "inconceivable!" problem for jok is his position. the hash marks are different in college... wider. jok is not a safety. not a pass rush olb. a bit light for playing in the box. eric stokes for gb is curious. 8-10th best cb on many lists projecting draft prospects. at the same time, he has elite athleticism and his production at georgia were arguable the best o' any cb available in the draft. stokes gave up a TOTAL of 145 yds for the year. we didn't see much film on stokes, so am not able to make a valid assessment, but am baffled a guy with his kinda athleticism and production didn't get more attention from draft guys. clearly the gb staff were not listening to so-called experts. good on gb from our pov. HA! Good Fun!

  26. Puella Magi Madoka Magica: How to ingeniously craft introduction scenes and making you care in record time. This one's been stuck in my head for a while, ever since I watched the first of the three Puella Magi Madoka Magica films after having seen the anime proper. It is really interesting to see how the first two episodes are set up and how incredibly different the scenes that play out are on a second watch. It's crafted so well that I'd argue for rewatching the first two or three episodes after having seen it all is very much worth the time investment. What makes this special isn't just the way it is made, but how little time the creators needed to spend on the characters to make the viewer care about them. Everything else that follows is spoilered because - surprise! - it contains spoilers. So take care if you want to watch it with an open mind. Time for a shameless attempt at getting a like from Shady: There will be no further audio written warning.

  27. Liberators are fun and sturdy; their high defenses compensate for the druid's weakness in this area. You get crazy healing too, and flames of devotion is a lot of fun when in animal form. Combined with wildstrike lashes you can get some really nice lashes going if you pick eternal devotion on the paladin side. While a Kindwayfarer/Lifegiver is a great healer, if you want a more offensive build you could go Steel Garrote/Fury. You lose the druid healing spells in exchange for greater firepower with your elemental spells. But you'll get a lot of self healing (and aura healing for your party) from Steel Garrote. It all depends on what role you want the character to have in the party.

  28. Sometimes anime directors hire amateur voice actors for their characters, so there are definitely some (not only pre-90ies) animes where people sound very different because they are, or rather, were hired to sound more natural. Miyazaki still does that, for instance in The Wind Rises, Jiro Horikoshi is voiced by Hideaki Anno. Whom you might recognize as director of Neon Genesis Evangelion. Definitely not professional Japanese voice talent. But the difference between anime voice acting and real life conversational Japanese goes way beyond what most (non-native) people could possibly imagine. Unlike, say, if you learned German from watching TV, you'd probably sound like a total dork if you picked up Japanese from watching anime, while "TV-German*" is essentially what you're taught when you attend a German as a foreign language course, even in Germany or any other German speaking country. *Well, there are differences between Standard German and the so called Theatre German, but they have the same origins - it's an artifical common denominator codified to be able to have one mutually intelligible spoken German language (in addition to a codified standard written version), which was understandably important for travelling acting troupes. It's also the reason why actors sound so different from people who are just being interviewed. There are of course similar examples for English, say, Scots or Glaswegian. Scots vaguely looks and sounds like (modern) English, but that's only because the languages have a shared ancestor. Take that hundredfold and there you go, different German dialects.

  30. What about having colored lighting for bases? There’s some paint cans in the backyard, maybe you could harvest paint and craft colored lighting? Having a color themed base or some party lights for some variety
