Last night I dreamt about this (maybe because this thread was the last thing I read before going to bed) and in my dream Obsidian hired "the whole gang" as consultants for their next RPG. You know for the next Pillars game (I feel it will come some day) we should really set up our own website/wiki.3 points

I'm watching in Brazilian Portuguese dub. But they use the names in English. I guess the correct is Amy them? Not sure why I said Ami... They call them Sailor Moon, Mercury, Mars, Tuxedo Mask... in English. Except the cat, that is called "Lua", Portuguese for Moon.2 points

Ah, that's an idea) Changing extension should work indeed gn.uncanny_luck.gamedatabundle -> gn.uncanny_luck.gamedatabundle.temp and voila.2 points

Nope - I renamed the files and it works just fine. Okay, I should have mentioned that I also rename the file extension. Oops. I don't like to delete the files because sometimes I want to test stuff with or without mod and deleting/moving files is bothersome then.2 points

Yeah, although Facebook estimate was "News makes up less than 4% of the content people see in their News Feed." , so they don't see news as something that brings them lots of revenue EDIT: I like that they call it 'News Feed' when 96% content in it is not news2 points

It wasn't just the media that Facebook blocked. FB blocked Government websites, various State Government Health Departments (during a pandemic), the Bureau of Meteorology, Local businesses including law firms, Support pages for various people like victims of domestic abuse and so on. Facebook went mental and FB had to re-instate some of these pages. Facebook reinstating health and safety pages but government says damage to reputation has been done. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-02-18/facebook-credibility-brought-into-question-health-emergency-news/131663182 points

Several people asked themselves a similar question about Tuotilio's Palm DPS and came to the conclusion it was half way between DW Unarmed and Unarmed + (small) shield. That's because the main hand get a huge DPS bonus through DW speed increase. I think this is a reasonable design and should be kept as a reference for all bashing shields. That is what I call the "Tuotilio's DPS ratio" compared to DW Unarmed. Unarmed has approximatively the same damages as a normal speed 1-hander (0,5 higher actually) IMHO the DPS of "Normal 1-hander + Bashing shield" shall be equal to "Tuotilio's DPS ratio" x DW Normal 1-hander DPS. This target is reached by applying the same damages to bashing shield compared as Tuotilio's (0,5 lower actually, I've been a bit conservative because they have dual damage types). The reason why it feels a bit low is because Normal 1-hander DPS is significantly lower than Unarmed DPS (4s recovery vs 3s). Note that Unarmed has an significant opportunity cost : you need to be SC Monk and/or get a lots of PL Bonus to reach the same scaling as an enchanted item. This constraint is comparable for Tuotilio's compared to other bashing shields. There are other subtle differences involved : + Tuotilio's can benefit from a Modal proficiency (relevant, but not that much except for fighters) - Other Bashing Shields get Dual damage types (which is significant) Maybe you'll find that my value is still a bit too low. But I really thing that bashing shield should not have a DPS comparable to normal 1-hander.2 points

When playing Forbidden Fist/Cipher I strongly recommend installing the Community Patch (see my signature). Usually Forbidden Fist (the attack ability) is not tagged as melee weapon attack but as a "melee spell". This means it will NOT generate focus (and besides that it won't work with Swift Flurry and Heartbeat Drumming). Community Patch will fix those two quirks (besides other stuff that improves the game balance without power creep). It also nerfs some broken/overpowered mechanics (like putting a cap of 25 to Resonant Touch etc.). Without CP your Forbidden Fist will have to use other attacks besides Forbidden Fist if he wants focus. Or pick Beguiler instead of Ascendant or Soulblade.2 points

Yes. Only thing we must to do is to "marry" mod with Stag Carnage marker, implemented in Stag Carnage fix. I presume to cut it from fix and add to Noqn mod. I'll take a closer look on this on weekend.2 points

Well, my Frankenstein system is more or less complete. Borrowed 32 GB (out of 64) from a different PC until I see RAM I like at a half-decent price, and I've got an "old" 5700 XT that I received for free sometime back but couldn't use due to its power draw (noting once again that I barely use my GPU, so I may end up going back to my GTX 1060 if I have too many driver problems, especially since a number of cutting-edge emulators, including for the PS3/Wii U/Switch, reportedly play poorly with AMD cards due to said drivers issues, and that's more important to me than anything else). As for my motherboard, I ended up going with a solid but unspectacular choice in the MSI X470 Gaming Max Plus. No bells and whistles, but I wasn't looking for any - just decent VRM/power phase design and all the standard features, and strangely, this board punches a bit above its weight, having tested for better VRM design than many boards literally twice what I paid for it. Didn't go for watercooling (I never overclock and the thought of running liquid in my system is skeevy to me), but the FUMA 2 I got tests just as well as some significantly pricier options and is even quieter. System is up and running but nothing's formatted yet and it likely won't be for a while because a migration is going to be very difficult. I have not yet decided whether I'll use Windows 7 Ultimate or Windows 10 LTSC. Windows 7 is my preferred option, but man is it getting lean in the years - and it'll take a bit of tinkering to get it to work with the 5000 series CPU. Windows 10 LTSC...is a compromise, but one I've been using for some time with my laptop, I'm not sure if I'm ready to fully jump over yet for my main desktop, though...I wish there was an even further modded version of Windows 10 than LTSC that stripped out some of remaining annoyances and problems to make it a little more hands-off Windows 7-style...perhaps I should do some investigation, since there are certain to be others who feel the same way. Complete specifications for now: Case: Fractal Design Meshify C Blackout PSU: SuperFlower Leadex III Gold 750 W MB: MSI X470 Gaming Plus Max CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800x Cooler: Scythe FUMA 2 RAM: 32 GB something or another (temporary) G.Skill 32 GB 3600 GPU: Asus Radeon XT 5700 SSD: TBD, want a 2 TB TLC+DRAM drive, saw one I almost bought yesterday for a great price, but hidden in the details was the fact that it was QLC - no deal!1 point

Well thanks for spoiling that they aren't brutally murdered as junior high students. I honestly didn't realize she was wearing something different and just zoomed in on the subtitle. I haven't watched as much Sailor Moon as expected because of power issues, and now Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan dropped so I'll watch that instead and do c-c-c-combo breakers in this thread.1 point

Steel Garrote/Bloodmage with WotEP is fun. One just has to understand that the focus is not on melee combat but on casting while doing Offensive Parries (which daze and therefore drain health for you). Max Res, good INT, rest can be mediocre. The following is not really a caster but a variant of the above which is more melee-focused: Steel Garrote/Trickster with Offensive Parry and Riposte. While Offensive Parry only hits 1 enemy the Riposte uses the whole cone AoE of the WotEP. Furyshaper/Troubadour or Skald is an awesome frontline caster imo. Furyshaper/Beguiler, too. Unbroken/Bloodmage with a focus on terrify spells (Ryngrim's stuff) is also neat. I also like a Streetfighter/Skald who uses summoned Whisps to make himself distracted (unlocking the Streetfighter passive). Berserker/Fury can be nice because of the +3 PEN to elemental spells. I'd use Lord Darryn's Voulge. But it needs healing from a party member Stalker/Bloodmage with Morning Star is also good. As is a Stalker/Ancient. The high ACC is nice to reliably land stuff like Plague of Insects etc. Forbidden Fist/Ascendant is also nice. Enfeeble + Disintegrate = death sentence.1 point

For riposte build, you want to max RES no matter what. Each point invested in is better than the precedent. There is different class combination that work well : Rogue : have a build in riposte (it's better with the community patch) so you don't necessary need WOTEP. Trickster pair really well with a martial class, streetfighter very well with a spellcasting one (easy to get flanked) Blood mage : lot of insta buff with big buff to deviation, can regen spell, making them a must have for long fight if no access to brilliant. Steelgarotte : WOTEP needed, passive health with riposte + endurance aura making it hard to down. Pair extremely well with bloodmage. Cipher : you can buff your defense and massively debuff ennemy's one. regenerative ressource is a must have in long fight. Some fun combination : Steelgarotte/bloodmage with WOTEP; Streetfighter/bloodmage with WOTEP or anything else (i love concelaut draining touch + magran's shield); Trickster/soulblade with WOTEP or anything else (i use WOTEp with it); Trickster/unbroken, you can use fear+disengagement attack fwhen tired of riposte. For liberator it will be less effective as a riposte build, it's more a mobil AOE tower (nature terror + immolation)1 point

Problem with that spreadsheet is that it doesn't appear to really highlight when the breakpoints are important. (Reminding me of the joke about the statistician who drowned while trying to cross a river that was on average only 3 feet/1 meter deep.) I only have an intuitive sense based on experience: Intimidate is extremely important for one armor (extra deflection) and you need like 20+ for a non-violent resolution to pre-porokoa SSS. You also need high metaphysics (and possibly arcana?) to solve the three beings the most "correctly." Metaphysics is also useful for several items. Religion is somewhat important depending on items (off the top of my head, a great sword, a bow, xoti's sickle, the fire flail) but is otherwise mostly flavor. History is very important if you want to maximize the cloak that gives you +all non-deflection defenses, but is very weak flavor everywhere else Survival is important for many world map encounters, but I don't think you need more than 10 or so. IIRC Survival/Alchemy on the scale of 10-15 is needed to have a peaceful resolution with the fungi in FS. Athletics is notably useful for that island with the bridge crossing, though honestly sometimes I create a sacrifical character. Diplomacy is useful, but if you have ~10 that solves most of the places where you can use it help with quest resolution. (I don't know what the 17 check is in that spreadsheet, sorry.) I'm not sure the high Bluff checks actually help with quest resolution. This is sort of the problem - sometimes there's no alternate outcomes or a redundant alternative outcome so you just get some extremely difficult-to-hit fluff. At least in Fallout: New Vegas you'd get experience for succeeding at difficult but irrelevant checks. Insight, Streetwise have little to no value to me. edit: i did some research for SSS and FS breakpoints as part of my ultimate run planning but I honestly can't find them anywhere. If I was more motivated I'd dig through the ultimate thread or go through my videos, but eh...1 point

Wind turbines seem to work fine here in -23 degrees of Celsius (-9.4 degrees Fahrenheit), also Gas, Coal and Nuclear plants work, so I would guess that Texas' problems are caused them saving in cold resistance of their infrastructure1 point

If you're getting your news from Facebook then you're doing it wrong. This is a good thing. In reality, it's a case of Facebook having a tantrum and the Australian Government isn't budging one inch. But it is funny to see Facebook cancel a country and wipe out everything.1 point
