TNG again. MASTERPIECE SOCIETY was pretty rubbish, with Troi acting out of character in a poorly done romance (if they needed one, which they didn't, why not use the scientist and Geordi?) CONUNDRUM was a step up from the recent episodes, but has some silly moments and the fake crewman went to mustache twirling villain quickly. Ro-Riker-Troi was fun.3 points

I mentioned it, but didn't write too much. As it is a VN it is impossible to talk too much without spoiling. If you like the World of Darkness, it is great. The whole game is about the character awakening to the WoD. It isn't about running around as a werewolf eating people, it is about realizing you are a werewolf. You get the feeling that your choices matter and you get the feeling that Rage and managing Rage is a thing. Of course, if you play more than once to get the various endings, you do see that the key moments always are the same, just part of the path to reach them changes.2 points

No, no, that came across wrong, the hunter has already put her down. It's not like I'd bury her alive2 points

The Mass Effect multiplayer modes (was there more than one?) were never good anyways. I played it a bit, but lost interest quickly. Also had loot crates which you could buy with money, so no thanks.2 points

Geordi's really into holograms of scientists, not actual people, but you should know that from like, the third season.2 points

Freelancer was great in its simplicity. You could fly around and trade Niobium to afford a Titan, but you did not have to.2 points

I still want a Dark Heresy RPG, something like the Shadowrun games just with more budget. I want Total War: Exalted, or Exalted May Cry. A tactical rpg based on Lancer would be dope as well.2 points

So Miranda will loose the little remaining "characterization" that she had . Shamelessness of butt shots was quite hilarious on my latest playthrough, though.2 points

understatement. unless china invents cinema-grade time travel, they got what appears to be a massive and insurmountable population problem o' their own making. if china were gonna implement decades-long draconian population control to stave off their recurring famine problems, they shoulda' gone with logan's run life clocks and carousel. 'course is understandable why the old men running the chinese communist party didn't consider carousel. HA! Good Fun!1 point

I guess Minako got a bit of the short end of the stick when the director attempted to fix anime Rei's popularity by giving her some of the personality traits and story beats of Minako. Remember that season one episode where Rei organized that school festival and was shown to write music and sing? Yeah that's actually Minako's dream: To become a beloved pop idol, but Minako showed up really late in the first season and so there we are. At least she got to do a bit more in the third season. She gets more episodes where she's featured prominently and even is allowed to kick off the mid-season storyline reveals in an incredibly hilarious, dare I say very Minako-y, fashion.1 point

Yeah, they're aiming at fixing more with the next bigger patch, which I think you were reading about. Also fixing the sector-auto management AI, include auto-migration between planets, etc. And yeah I agree, the 2.2 patch was kind of a one step forward, two steps back -case. Most of the problems in the current game stem from it. I personally only get end game lag when I try something ridiculous, like beating the 25x end game crisis on Huge galaxy, so I'm making fleets worth of 10M fleet power... If you play on smaller galaxies, don't go for ridiculous end-games, and/or have a good comp, the end-game lag should be about non-existent.1 point

Well, the lobbies and games used a P2P model (which opened up the potential for a lot of cheating but no one really cared because it's co-op). Only the matchmaking and $$$ totals were handled by EA's (or XBL) servers. Calling it matchmaking is being generous too because it amounted to "put this player who just queued up in that game over there with an open slot", and even that would sometimes fail. So the service is nowadays likely run on a calculator in the broom locker, especially with the decreased player load.1 point

I'm really looking forward to meeting that pegasus. For sure. Yeah. ...Remind me to read these posts again when I actually get to these episodes. I'll be able to more properly respond to them when I've actually seen them, . My hope is that I'm not quite as creeped out by some of this as you are...but uhh, probably a fat chance of that, huh? (e): Also a sufferer of astigmatism (and the double-vision phenomenon you just described is exactly what I get), I always thought it was completely normal and never told anyone, but it apparently isn't. On the other hand, I've always had good hand-to-eye coordination and depth perception even with it (no myopia, though), so I don't know how that works out.1 point

Heh, I always remember someones anecdote, where he described watching Braveheart with a friend who happened to be a historian specialising in Scottish History. The phrasing he used was "The film was an adventure. But sitting next to a guy who basically had one hand on all the history books and his increasingly indignant commentary was so much more of an adventure."1 point

@213374U I found my review from October: It is not the shortest review I have written in this forum. Edit: The game was also voted Best Writing in Games 2020 in the gaming retrospective discussion. Getting the prestigious award having gotten 1 out of 1 votes from me.1 point

Steven Universe: It probably won't be, licensing with Cartoon Network shows is almost always terrible, I'm genuinely surprised the first season is somehow on Netflix (99.9% sure it's not in the U.S.). I jumped in while the fifth season was just starting, and used a combination of re-runs, live-airing, and illegitimate* sources to watch it. I don't know how you'd want to solve that. It's a shame, too - the second season is when I became fully convinced it was my favorite show due to a particularly great stretch of episodes. *Gabe Newell once said that piracy is usually the result of service problems. Well...he wasn't wrong.1 point

Yeah, most of them work like that as long as they are flagged as weapon attacks. But the difference is that Thunderous Report is not 1/rest like most of those abilities but instead is useable 1/encounter. Another ability that is a bit like this would be the spinning AoE attack of WotEP. It doesn't have that insane base dmg though. But it's AoE also works with Shared Nightmare and can be used to ascend very quickly if you're surrounded. A Cipher with Grave Calling/Chilling Grave even gets focus from the foe-only Chillfog that gets triggered if you kill any vessel with the sabre. So if you have a Chanter in the group (best a Beckoner) you can generate focus all the time by killing one or more of the weak skeletons. If you are fighting vessels it's often auto-win.1 point

Quite a list to sort through with some great ideas and some potential game breaking ones. This is a long response numbered and labeled for easier digestion. 1. Hotbar and Inventory - So while in some ways it would be nice if we had extra equipment we could have not take up inventory space there are some items that would need to be restricted for this to work. Some examples would be food in the hotbar if we used the same rules as the equipped gear not taking up inventory space if you locked an item to the hotbar and did not give it a capacity limit one could theoretically carry an infinite amount of food in the space of one hotbar item. 2. Equipment and Armor - In some ways there is merit for what you want here where we may have a base set of armor but then still be able to equip utility style equipment i.e. gas mask and miner helmet. The biggest challenge here would be whether or not the devs want to expand equipment slots as there is honestly a nice simplicity in their approach to gear as every wearable is considered armor and you only need three armor pieces. With the specific sets of three giving bonuses. Currently the gas mask has the most importance moving forward when the eventual haze section gets updated while the bubble helmet is kind of important at the moment and in niche situations is the miner helmet a good utility gear and combat situations specifically bow usage its now a toss up between marksman cap or full be armor. What would be nice and is progress already are future creature additions as well as future armor sets so one day we may see a full set that is intended to be used in the haze and even better gear set for the water. 3. Human occupants - This in a way has been done with the boot prints you find near the mysterious machine as well as the destruction of the hedge lab. Which has brought its own challenges for players who consider themselves day one players as the change to the landscape has challenged the way preexisting bases work in the modified landscape. This challenge would be further amplified if we had full size npcs that periodically roamed the yard. On the other end of the spectrum the roaming npc can become repetitive as they may only be given one or two roaming paths so as to not completely disrupt our ability to build and expand bases and outpost throughout the yard. 4. Weather, Queen Ant, Glitches, Multi Saves - the idea of an ant queen I believe is already in the works. Weather is planned for a future update. Creature glitches has a hot fix in the pause menu to fix creature locations and can be used once each time you load your save. You are already able to have and be a part of multiple saves with the ability to change between using a save for single or multiplayer on the same save. The one thing you currently can not do with an existing save is change the difficulty or switch between survival and creative which I support the potential to change the difficulty of the game but not switching between creative and survival.1 point

Note that every weapon ability or spell work like Thunderous Report : dragon's Breath from Dragon's Dowry, Searing Seal from Ngati's Tusk, Garland's Breath from Frostseeker, Storm Rune Shot from Thundercrack Pistol (wich, coupled with Overload, can paralize also) and the great Witting Wind from Amira's Wing with his huge area. I dont know for the Deltro's Cage Retentless storm or the Seven Bolt mantle bouncing shock wave, but I dont think so since it is not relied to the weapon. So with 2 or 3 weapons slots (with the giftbearer's cloth for exemple) you can generate focus very fast many time, useful for ascendant and convenient for other subclass.1 point

The fact that BioWare consider that cutting back on the ass effect is worth their time but updating the multiplayer for the remaster isn't is disappointing.1 point

Just finished watching the SuperS episode where Rei gains her new attack. Episode was good, some fun interactions and a very meaningful encounter for Rei. Watchable streak increased to 5 now. What a wonderful development, this makes a good case for skipping like 18 of the first 22 episodes and pretending they never happened. And +1 for the theory that the writers were replaced by alien ghostwriters earlier in the season. I'm actually looking forward to the next episode. That hasn't happened since... oh before you were born, Luke.1 point

I want a good Dune strategy game that isn't an RTS. i would have liked a proper Necroumda cyberpunk gang simulator tactics game. I want a Mutant Chronicles tactical rpg. Or just rpg. I want Modiphius nowhere near that project. I want a World of Darkness: Changeling the Dreaming RPG. I want a well written World of Darkness: Hunter the Reckoning Visual Novel, possibly done by the same team that did Werewolf: Heart of the Forest.1 point

It is a very different time. Also, when you watched it, the episodes were still new (and presumably you couldn't obtain the manga or read Japanese), so that would have kind of prevented you from looking up anything either, . One thing I've noticed is that this show goes a lot farther with Usagi's expressions than with anyone else's. She has so many different "meme"-ish expressions that nobody else really does. The two closest things I can think of are Rei and Chibi-Usa sticking their tongues out (at Usagi no less), as well as a commonly shared between everyone (including even the cats) exasperated expression. But Usagi's had so much more than that. I guess it's a benefit of being the protagonist...and being the most expressive character with the most screen time. (e): One positive thing I'll say about the generated villains, is that even if their designs aren't particularly memorable, I do appreciate that they are very often humorously built off of their situation/surroundings. It's not always enough to make them notable, but at least they were trying to do something.1 point

Self-determination is a serious minefield. Of course, politicians and useful idiots are always going to argue that it applies where it hurts their opponents while simultaneously suggesting that it doesn't where it would hurt them. Consistency is for chumps. Russians strongly -by force of arms strong- supported it in Crimea, but any discussion of it in the Caucasus is a non-starter. It is also Schrödinger's right in the case of Taiwan, with the US functionally treating Taiwan as an independent country but stopping short of recognizing it as such because that would immediately trigger Chinese military action. The US also famously has self‑determination as the essence of its very existence but denies it for many others, with the Sahrawi people being the latest example. The principle is enshrined in the UN Charter... for all the good that does. It shouldn't be surprising that the usual suspects here and elsewhere apply it selectively -- almost everyone does.1 point
