  1. Here's the newest trailer for Spiders' latest RPG that inevitably will fall well short of its ambitions and be janky as ****, and that I'll play and wind up enjoying anyway. I'm so going to murder the **** out of the tree-hugger natives and Manifest Destiny my way across the New World.

  2. I started playing Ion Fury. Very quickly I was met with the indisputable fact that I am completely **** at old skool shooters (or any shooters, for that matter). I'm playing on the 2nd of 4 difficulties and I'm getting super murdered, but I refuse to play on baby's first shooter difficulty, because my ego can't handle that. With enough practice I will hopefully become slightly less **** at the game. Despite having my ass handed to me repeatedly, I'm having fun with the game. It's a decidedly mid 90s shooter where you play as Female Duke Nukem and progress through labyrinthine levels full of alternate paths, secret areas, and really ****ish places for enemies to come out of and horribly murder you while your character cracks wise. It's the Duke Nukem 3D sequel we never got. What's that you say? Something about there already having been a Duke Nukem 3D sequel? With all due respect, sir or madam, I don't know what you are talking about and you might be off your rocker. Lalalalala I can't hear you.

  7. I'm home from the road for a few days and decided to drink some local brews. The Carolinas have a veritable embarrassment of riches, if you're into IPAs, but, if you're like me and prefer lagers, your choices are far more limited. Still, I picked this up: Pretty good. Fairly easy drinking and comes off smooth, but with enough robustness to satisfy my palette. It could stand to be a tiny bit more hoppy, for my taste, but overall it's the kind of no fuss, no muss, no spices, no fruits, no berries, old skool traditional lager that I tend to gravitate toward.

  10. I don't know if people know, but if you have mid-teens mechanics or stealth, 14 dex and 8 athletics, you can cross the bridge no problem without any specific class support or without burning any time. (edit: the dialogue tree would go -> examine, use stealth/mechancis, carefully cross the bridge (new option appears after examining the bridge with enough skill), and then you're done (you just click through a dex and athletics check).) I ended up manually looking through the game conversation files for this encounter because this encounters is so poorly documented and could've been a dealbreaker/huge-waste-of-time for my tactician/skaen (who does not have access to web or the druid spells). edit 2 - though honestly it's not that big a deal to brute force your way through the bridge with insufficient dex/athletics, so long as you don't have any injuries (iirc you can accumulate up to three just from a "successful" crossing). you can always quaff a luminous adra potion after, or leave them in place if you have rekvu's.

  12. @BruceVC the US has spied on the rest of the world and influenced regional politics and toppled democratically elected governments to replace them with puppets for decades. I'm not sure if anyone is *really* surprised when other countries eventually try to return the favour. Heck, for two decades (at least), the US has been spying on European citizens and companies via the Echelon system (google bbc and echelon for a more in-depth art article on it). Couldn't help but burst out laughing when I read the BBC news this morning. Good on you Ms Frederiksen, one woman who is very unimpressed by Trump, there is apparently no limit to how far he will go embarrass himself. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-49423968

  13. Did the SWAT 4 mission with the child graveyard, have to redo it as apparently I blasted a lady in the legs with my MP5 that I shouldn't have. Not very good at judging when they are acting in a threatening manner. Sort of funny to deal with such a strict RoE when I'm in the ersatz NYPD, heh.

  14. It definitely works with 5.0, it is still great. However, the actual question is how far do you want to take this build ... - Do you just want to finish the game TCS mode and get the achievement ? Then sure. The game can be completed without taking a single fight, so. - Do you want to play casually ? Means discovering, doing random bounties and exploring the whole Deadfire ? Then I would say doing everything of this as TCS is possible to a certain extent. Most likely you will fail at the mega bosses, but they are an own category ... For everything else in the game you are good to go, imo.

  15. No I think you misunderstand me, I am talking about the necessary implementation of enhanced Cybersecuity to ensure countries like the USA are safe from the real threat of Cyber-terrorism, Cyber- espionage and Cyber-warfare. These threats are real and you need complicated ways to address these, like Prism, this doesnt apply to smaller forms of phone malware and other software threats that do get replicated and duplicated in many examples of Cyber warfare. You cannot mimic or copy the complexity and ability of Prism and this is a good thing. So in summary we need all companies to work with government in most cases to ensure a better and more stable world, backdoor access to all devices can be controlled by institutions like the NSA, they already have backdoor access to most other industries so why be obstructive over something like this

  16. am kinda with numbers on this. we didn't see a need for the sequels, so we sure don't recognize a good reason for a 4th short o' a cash grab. alternative: perhaps is a sunk-cost fallacy issue? wachowskis is so invested that they cannot get themselves out of the matrix. just one more movie (or one more trilogy) will save their vision? and one more. and one more. HA! Good Fun!

  18. I am very sure you can finish the quest without killing the boss. You just have to sneak very close to the top left corner to get the quest log updated. You do NOT have to kill the boss. I have done it several times this way.

  22. elliott is a premier rb. the thing is, recall demarco murray's final year with the cowboys. the guy averaged 4.7 ypc and he totaled +1800 yards rushing on 392 attempts. last year, elliott averaged 4.7 ypc and he totaled +1400 yards rushing on 304 attempts. the cowboys ol, as long as they stay collective healthy, is gonna make most nfl calibre rbs look good, and they is gonna make good rbs look like they deserves to be in the conversation with the likes o' barry sanders, jim brown and walter payton. pay elliott and you is actual paying the wrong guy if you is most concerned with maintaining rushing totals. again, am agreeing elliott is a premier rb. if one ignores all the off-the-field headaches, then elliot would be deserving to get paid... by somebody. the thing is, the cowboys ol has actual been underrated the last few years. the cowboys, in part we suspect to cover dak shortcomings, runs the most vanilla offense in the league. one step removed from leather helmets. defensive coordinators has lamented how everybody knows what the cowboys is gonna do, but the chess game move and counter-move planning is wasted if you cannot prevent even what you know is coming. the cowboys offense functions 'cause the ol is overwhelming good. from a pure football pov, may nevertheless be worth paying elliot in spite o' our observation. the cowboys ol is good enough such that if any one guy goes down ('cept maybe zack martin) the line is nevertheless gonna continue to perform at a high level. the thing is, count on the cowboys line to stay relative healthy all year may not be the smart bet. what happens if travis frederick and zack martin is injured for an extended period o' time? somebody is gonna need step up, and am not believing dak is able to be any better than what he is today: a mid-tier qb. have elliott on the roster means season might not be complete over if a couple ol go down with injuries. 'course all this ignores how elliott is a headcase who is always one after-midnight story away from a multi-game suspension. has gotta be a dollar amount jones attaches to immaturity and stoopidity, no? perhaps is a small number, but... HA! Good Fun!

  23. The Fighter subclass in general doesn't really matter since none of them makes a difference when it comes to crit chance. But I used Black Jacket for following reasons: With 0 switching recovery I can switch weapon after every Clear Out without slowdown. That allows me (for example) to do a Clear Out with a Morning Star (+modal), then a Club and then a Flail. And all enemies in range suffer from -25 Fortitude, Reflex and Will. The other synergy with Fighter/Skald and Clear Out I specifically used was that Body Blows from Morning Star (-25 Fortitude) applies to all enemies that get hit with Clear Out. I can then switch to Whispers otEP immediately and profit from +25 accuracy (so to speak) since Clear Out targets Fortitude, not Deflection. Add Ben Fidel's Neck and other debuffs and you will do a ton of crits. Another ability that targets Fortitude and even has +10 Accuracy is Knockdown/Mule Kick. You can use that right from the beginning in combo with a Morning Star to generate more crits. You don't have to wait for Clear Out. That is what makes this combo so nice in my opinion. Another option is a Berserker/Skald, also with Morning Star. Not in an AoE but still very good: hit an enemy with Body Blows and then use Barbaric Smash (has high crit conversion especially if the Berserker is frenzied and also against near death enemies if he has Bloody Slaughter). Barbaric Smash does target Deflection - but with Brute Force it targets Fortitude if that's lower. And it's often lower with Body Blows applied.

  24. Hello boys and girls, I am happy to present you my 2nd Ultimate run played as a Zealot (Streetfighter/Woedica). Since I have already shared some information about my run regarding skill choices, pathing etc. I decided not writing a novel here and just link you my playlist. The only important thing I have to mention: All clips are unedited except for part 4. The reason for this is simply that my game bugged out, sadly it does happen regularly on the bridge in SSS, and I needed a workaround for this bug. At this interaction I was forced to Alt+4 / terminate the window and start again. As Josh mentioned once, these kind of bugs do not directly disqualify you and I also asked someone and got told that such a bug would technically not disqualify me. Nevertheless it happened and the best way to get around this IMO, is simply to play as a druid/wizard and repair the bridge OR as I did in my Ultimate Run respecc into 14 mechanics/survival and repair it this way (this will however cost you 2 days of ingame time). Rest of the clips is completely unedited footage. I can certainly say as for my first run, no cheats, no console commands etc. OFC At the moment I am planning to create a compilation showing you all funny bugs/glitches/tricks that I have found so far. My third attempt with a SC monk is yea well ... let's say the progress stagnates and it's far less motivating to play lately. I am not sure if I am just exhausted on PoE2 or that playing as a SC monk is just too "random". Behaviour of WotW is too random when you are fighting bigger groups of enemies and the amount of withdraw scrolls and potions I need is so unreal that it really demotivates me playing monk. Potions and scrolls wouldn't be the problem if Vela wasn't there. She is actually the real problem =S HOWEVER I still think it is very possible to do the Ultimate as a monk, but it does take alot more time, alot more tries and alot more nerves/patience tbh. Enjoy. 27. gonna disagree with you on this. post-mortem were discouraging for us 'cause josh recognized insular problems as 'posed to cultural and/or systemic. keep in mind, am not looking for the silver lining. am not looking at this like an obsidian fan. am looking at this like a cold-blooded and heartless ombudsman o' doom. ship combat were a waste o' resources and shoulda' been killed sooner. ... duh. recognition, after-the-fact, that ship combat were a resource sink is less helpful for future game design than one might hope. if the folks 'bove josh's pay-grade had recognized ship combat as a resource hog with little benefit v. cost, do you think obsidian genuine woulda' pushed forward with the feature? so, josh recognizes how important it is to not invest resources in features which is offering little payoff compared to massive expenditure. no quicksand features. even looks a bit like josh... at least when he has the beard. late addition o' vo were problematic? again, duh. as a post-mortem point, am finding this one to be o' dubious merit. josh reflected 'pon a disproportionate expensive feature added late in development which functional forced immediate content lock. would josh do it again? no, but he admitted it weren't his call in the first place. so, a relative unique situation which were complete out o' his hands, but he admits it were a bad choice... a bad choice by somebody else. uh, well, ok then. also, am thinking josh almost complete whiffed on the real issues with companion shortcomings and narrative flaws. could go into writing problems further, but am recalling we already kinda did so when post-mortem first were shared. etc. josh looked at isolated problems and came up with specific solutions. is actual a terrible approach to a post mortem, or rather is the way an ameteur approaches. learn not to make same and exact mistake again? ez. josh didn't address process or culture which led to problems in the first place. what changes coulda' been made so similar unexpected problems would be avoided or marginalized? nothing. no reflection. am knowing am sounding harsh and am gonna cheese off more than a few folks by being so critical, but am hopeful somebody at obsidian takes the next step, the hard step, and figures out how to change process and culture so as to be better able to respond to the inevitable unexpected crises which will plague their next title. HA! Good Fun!

  31. FUN TRIVIA FACT, U. S. COMIC BOOKS TYPICALLY USE ALL UPPER CASE LETTERS, AND USE BOLD FOR EMPHASIS OF WORDS INSTEAD OF MIXED CASE AND ALL CAPS. THIS MADE IT HARDER FOR OLD PRINTING PRESSES TO MAKE THE TEXT ILLEGIBLE. CLASSICALLY, UNTIL COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY CAUGHT UP TO IT, MOST LETTERING WAS DONE BY HAND. THE BIG EXCEPTION IN THE U. S. WAS CHARLTON COMICS WHO ACTUALLY HAD A GIANT TYPING MACHINE AND TYPED THE LETTERING IN FOR SOME COMICS DIRECTLY ON THE ARTWORK.

  32. Overview: For the full list of accesories head over to the Official Wiki. The intention of the list is to make it easier for players to hunt for the accessories they are most likely to need in their playthrough, and to know at which point in the game they can aquire them. The List is ordered by what catagory the accessory belongs to (head, amulet etc) and within the catagories they are ordered after when you can expect to get them (early, mid, lategame). Used ingame stats to get the most correct values (patch 2.0). I haven't added all of the accessories because that would take a long time. There are several more accessories that can be useful in particular instances. The majority of accessories in this game can atleast be conditionally useful, but this is the list of accessories I would look to grab almost every playthrough or use on specific builds. Just because an item is recived later in the game doesn't necessarily make it more powerful. Some might be abit more powerful then their counterparts, but it is very rare they have to compete with other items of that particular slot. Most of these are only strong for a particular role (Tank, Ranged dps, Melee dps, Caster, Healer etc). In the cases where they do compete you can most of the time hand it over to another party member. Most of the items are pretty self explanatory, but I added a small note to all of them explaining what uses they have. List does not include trinkets. Youtube/Twitch/Donation Links: Youtube channel Twitch channel Donate via Streamlabs Steam Guide Headgear: Defiant Apparel (Pre-Order Bonus): Not that great but you get it for free if you preordered the game. The Magnificent Escape Cape (The Sacred Stair: Sold by the temple vendor). Extremly useful for a squishy backliner. Fairly cheap and almost always my highest priority to buy early game. The Giftbearer's Cloth (Cave of Threshing) One of the best accessories in the game, lots of tank stats scaling with History. Very hard to get since you have to kill a bunch of Fampyrs to get it. Hidden Depths: +1 Quick Item slots, +1 Weapon Sets. Steward of Memories: +5 All Defenses except Deflection (Increases with the History skill). The Giftbearer's Cloth is very easy to get. Untrustworthy: Enemies attacked by the wearer require one additional ally to flank Shadow Form: Grants Shadow Form,1 per encounter (kills turn character invisible briefly) Footprints of Ahu Taka (Scripted event in Whenura Cleft) Divine Inspiration: Good for any healer, especially Priest. +1 Casts with Level 2 Priest Spells Graceful Motion: +2 Dexterity Path of Mercy: +15% Healing done Pathfinder's Boots (Unsure) Good for both frontline and backliners. +5 Reflex, +1 Dex, +1 Athletics. Rakhan Field Boots (Mercenary Paladin on the Spire of the Soul-Seers rooftop during the quest Skipping Ahead): 5m-Charge with Full Attack on anybody in between (1/encounter) Good on frontliners. On Sodden Peat: +3 Corrode Armor Rating. No Quarter: Grants No Quarter Boots of the White (Harbingers' Watch) The Freeze Armor rating comes in really handy in Beast of Winter Content. +2 Freeze armor rating. +1 Resolve; resistance to Dexterity afflictions. Belts: Upright Captain's Belt (Early game Quest Reward) Very good for any caster because of concentration and beeing immune to beeing pulled into the fight. Buttressed: Immune to Push and Pull effects Hold Fast (Concentration at start of combat). +1 Constitution. Physicker's Belt (Port Maje: Sold by Henric): Good for healers. +10% Healing done, +1 Alchemy. Girdle of Eoten Constitution (Bounty - Beina, also random drop?) Great fir tanks +3 Constitution https://pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com/Girdle_of_Eoten_Constitution_(Deadfire) Ngati's Girdle (Can be looted/bought in Iolfr's Raiments in Periki's Overlook) Not the best belt but Hey! Its free! Against the Tide: +1 Athletics Fathoms' Redress: 10% chance to cast interrupting Crush damage AoE when critically hit in melee Wavebreaker: +1 Crush Armor Rating The Undying Burden (Delvers' Row: Sold by Imuani.) Having a Second Charge of Second Wind makes this super strong on anyone skilling up athletics. Grants Second Wind. Dig Deep: +1 Athletics Grit: Incoming weapon damage reduced by 10% (stacks three times as health is lost, for a max of-10% to damage) Of Constitution: +2 Constitution <a data-ipb="nomediaparse" data-cke-saved-href="https://pillarsofeternity2.wiki.fextralife.com/Belt+of+Magran"href="https://pillarsofeternity2.wiki.fextralife.com/Belt+of+Magran" s+chosen"=""> Belt of Magran's Chosen (Deck of Many Things): The Flame Blight is hostile TOWARDS YOU. Not sure if it's worth it because of this, especially on Iron Man. Linked in Flames: +3% damage dealt as Burn (all allies in 2.5m radius) Ire of Magran: small chance to summon a hostile Fire Blight on hit. Sash of Judgment (Deck of Many Things): Taking 10% more dmg isn't a big deal for a backline dps. Probably not worth it for a frontliner. Also good on Streetfighters/Humans because they want to get bloodied (below 50% hp). Balance in All Things: Enemies take +10% damage while above 50% health, while the wearer takes +10% damage while above 50% health. Girdle of Mortal Protection (Midgame quest) Of Constitution: Great for tanks, +2 Constitution Mortal Protection: 15% of incoming Crits converted to Hits The Maker's Own Power (Dropped during Bounty - Torkar) The King of Belts. Really good to prevent the wearer from dying. Absolutely insane with Paladins Sacred Immolation. Grants Reforge the Flesh upon becoming Near Death (1/rest) Reforge the Flesh: Paralyzed, +10 Health Restored per 1.0 sec, -85% Damage taken for 12.0 sec Wrought : +1 Might. Shaped by the Hammer: +1 Crush Armor Rating. Edit: Made some changes based on feedback. WIll do more when I have time.

  34. Maybe, but there'd have to be a lot of changes. Like, character reactivity. For example (and I'm assuming the Circle would return in POE3), why would the Circle of Archmagi employ some random flunky if they've already worked with the "illustrious" Watcher? The same goes for the gods. Why would they choose a random new guy if Berath already controls the Watcher? I don't think a new protagonist and the Watcher would work well in tandem. Besides, Obsidian will already have to write a crap ton of alternating dialogue based on the Watcher's reputation as a whole, which faction they chose and their reputation with companions and NPC's alike. I just don't see them doing all that and coming up with a completely new protagonist on top of that.
