  1. This has nothing to do with Zora and Im also not criticizing anyone or trying to shame anyone . I am pointing out the reasons that people dont really care\have an interest in conflicts in Africa is because you dont live in Africa and you dont have any political or ideological connection to the various conflicts in Africa Its expected and normal. And there will be much more interest in the Ukraine war from the West and the world because people have ethnic, historical and geographical ties to that war and it impacts much of the world around the things like the grain deal and energy

  2. No Man's Sky ...go into a cave, expecting a not too large area (all the others I'd found weren't huge). Saw minerals I wanted. Kept going forward to mine them and it turns out this cave was ginormous, seemingly never-ending caverns and twists, as if it maybe continued under half the planet's crust. Long time later I ran out of bag space with maxed 9999 stacks and tried to make my way back out. There's no mini-map in the game. It's dark. I thought I'd kept to a fairly straight path, not taking side turns and I tried to backtrack. But ... I got lost. I wandered and wandered, realized I hadn't been this way or that way yet from unmined thingies. The compass markers of the surface did not help much since I hadn't taken note of what and where before going in. ...after 20 minutes of ever increasingly desperate wandering, I finally remembered something - I took the terrain shaping tool out and blasted a tunnel upwards out to the sky. I think that's the worst that I've ever been "lost" in a game, ever. And it was glorious.

  3. admitted both parties has long histories o' individuals, groups and even leadership as a whole advocating voter suppression efforts. however, since Gromnir were o' age to vote, the gop has been the party most obvious involved in or complicit with coordinated efforts to prevent minorities and young people from voting. most such schemes is state level endeavors, but national level republicans who condemn those inequitable activities is too few and far between. one o' the main reasons why Gromnir, in spite o' our conservative voting patterns, never considered registering as a republican is 'cause we had seen too many gop voter suppression schemes. yeah, big tent was the gop mantra at the national level for many decades, but willful ignoring what were actual happening, particular in southern states, were too much hypocrisy for us to ignore. HA! Good Fun! ps even in georgia, fraudulent voter registration efforts is criminal and am suspecting the numbers o' people successful denied the vote through such means is gonna be low, particular in recent years when something like 40 states (including georgia but not mississippi) have online voter registration. is tougher to scam young people into believing they has been registered when there is online access to registration status. am not saying amentep described activities don't still happen, but the more effective means for the gop is to do legal as with more than a couple o' the provisions o' sb 202.

  4. Well ceasing use of PPPoE seems to resolve the phone problem. No sense to me why that would cause issues with the VoIP through the ISP modem but eh. Moved family over to the ISP router as well. Annoying issue but at least that fire is out

  6. Yes, the spider. No. There were other ways to proceed: smell it, some skill checks and a Druid specific option, which I chose. But who knows, when I play as a stupid Barbarian or the Drunk Urge, anything is possible. It was the one Raphael requested. Not sure if it was avoidable, I hit them with Confusion as soon as I finished setting up Grease, Glyph of Warding and Cloudkill.

  11. It's hard to make people aware of something when there is an information blackout though. Iraq, Syria and Ukraine had/has loads of images and videos come out, journalists weren't being kept out of the area and kept it in the news cycle. And people seem to not read news anymore as much as watch it, and a talking head with scant few still images is less likely to draw attention(Or views if you want to be crass) compared to the barrage that you can get from other places. Same thing with Chinas genocides, not considering that any real action against Poohs actions are likely to quadruple the price of said iphones.

  12. Gauntlet dungeon. I don't know if a certain battle was supposed to be difficult, but the enemies were really stupid so I won even forgetting to use a summon item. I hope there are other battles in this place. There was an option to lick a corpse. Wtf!?

  14. @dgray62 Yeah I know that feeling - I think with the Watcher it you benefit more from Brisk Recitation since you have high PER, so I leave the supporting duties to another chanter, or class. I am trying to use the Energized Interrupt strategy, I think Not So Clever Hound started that thread? , when I use the PL1 chant that removes concentration. So far my ACC is too low b/c I need Helm of the White Void. Now I just use these invocations, starting with Empower w/ Sasha Scimitar a) the invocation that frightens and debuffs -15 DEF for all stats (sorry cant remember name atm !) I have no Cipher, so this is necessary. b) Ogres (PL upgrade, but idk if it is worth it) c) the PL 1 armor buff plus the PL 3 (a good offense is a great defense!) d) Charm, when appropriate As an SC Chanter, I have so many choices, so I think you can build it around having a variety of offensive invocations and summons, as well as the odd Defensive invocation, too. The deeper question is if you'd like to be spend action economy on summons - Once I get PL 9 I will just be using the upgraded tornado, as many have mentioned it is quite effective (PL bonus determines the bounces, not INT, ) . Fleeting moments in which I am not casting I will switch to Essence Interrupter, but honestly with Sasha's and Brisk Recitation on, I almost always have something to cast. I will probably invest in the shield that heals, from Dark Cupboard, and just keep that on at all times and forgo ranged warfare.

  15. What chanter phrases do you use with your Troubadour, @mjo2138? Troubadour is a great subclass, but it seems to me that some chants benefit from brisk recitation (such as offensive ones so they'll proc more often), while others benefit from the extra long linger, like the defensive or beneficial chants. I usually end up not going with troubadour because I get paralyzed with indecision regarding which chants to use, and whether or not to use the brisk recitation modal. Any advice would be welcome.

  16. gonna disagree. happens often. am personal extreme consistent and have used the simpsons clip for king more than once. how many times in the wotr thread(s) did we make functional identical posts, particular when responding to complaints about poe and deadfire o' all things. were same complaints, so same response. if there is a a crpg romance discussion and Gromnir makes the bad choice to respond, you will once again get our views on bg2 romances and ravel from ps:t. same bat time... hans blix, crt, free speech in europe, etc. y'know how often we invoke groundhog day on this board? sure, once we used a clip to show the curious physical and behavioral similarities 'tween ned ryerson and gordon sondland but that were an exception to our typical invocation o' the film. am having observed, more than once, most o' our posts qualify as spam. the terrible reality is, if you got a good enough memory, you will not be shocked by how often the exact same conversations occur, sometimes only months apart. recommendation: roll with it. HA! Good Fun!

  17. That would be fun - Now I am running an SC Troubadour and I like it . I am more like caster than anything, but it is fun to try out some of the SC chanter skills at PL 8 and 9 I usually don't try. I do have fleeting memories of using a few of them back when Deadfire came out, but it has been a while. Phew it has been even longer since POE 1! I have a party now of Eder (fighter) Xoti, Aloth, and Tekehu , all SC casters. I feel like I've ran so many games with them in the party. Having 3 aoe caster is just so powerful it is hard to choose a different party. Tekehu really needs some PER so Xoti can solve them. Recently I've run Aloth to focus on terrifying enemies, which is so much fun if you have a fighter who can benefit from disengagement attacks. Well anyone can benefit from it, actually! Maybe I will bring Serafen back as a Witch to handle that with LDV.

  18. There are groups that go onto college campuses whose intention is to get students to 'register' to vote. Because of free speech rules for public schools, there are places there allowed to go so long as they aren't disruptive or use space adjacent to campus. Some are legit. Some will do things to invalidate all or some registration forms, such as using fake forms or offering to mail them for students and disposing of them. Some are seeking to use voter registration to get personal details and scam students. Been a big problem here locally at least. Auto registration ruins this scam somewhat if students get drivers licenses.

  20. I don't think RPS are that complex to play gameplay wise. PoE1&2 and Solasta did a fine job making UIs that help to understand and engage with the content. Perhaps Pathfinder and BG3 just assumes familiarity with the system - if you know what you are looking for finding it isn't easy. I don't enjoy getting new character and getting a vomit of disorganised icons and having to read up, memorise and organise them by function and resource. edit. I will probably get back to it once I am in a right brain space. Also some modding will be needed. I had the same issue with pathfinder where I found the camera to not zoom out enough.

  21. Yes I agree but I can guarantee you most of those same people will be outraged about any Western country, and particularly the US, doing anything similar to Russia. So they not indifferent when Western countries are involved in wars or invasions, so its selective indifference thats based on ideological reasons and anti-Western bias. This is common in SA from those who support Russia

  22. I agree that this is true. However, I don't think that the word "today" is in any way operative. It has always been so, and in fact, for most of history, it has been much more so.

  23. No, the reason people say things along these lines is so that it serves to justify their indifference toward the war and the plight of the Ukrainians. A lot of people in the world today, unfortunately, just don't want to be bothered by the plight of other people in the world. But they also want all those bad things happening out there to "go away" so that their indifference doesn't make them look bad.

  24. The grain thing just shows how much corruption there is in europe as well. I can understand both sides - ukraine who just want to move their grain through poland, etc. and the bordering countries who are worried about crashing grain prices because they can't compete with them. On the other hand, there are already rules that the ukraine grain can't be sold in european stores... but why does it happen anyways? Look at the people who are mixing the local stuff with it. This is where they have to crack down - give them huge fines or whatever, I don't know. I'm sure the authorities could find out who's behind it if they would try.

  25. Problem with argument is that it's kind of... specious. And never gets applied evenhandedly. Consider: "I've never understood the big concern over whether something got blown up by ISIS or the US. Whether it was an ISIS or US attack doesn't change the fact that ISIS wouldn't exist without the US invasion of Iraq so blame wise it's all on the US anyway". A great argument for rhetoric, and for generating butthurt among certain people; not so great for anything else. But it too is the logical progression of "everything is [originator's] fault". That argument has also been extensively used to excuse probable Ukrainian war crimes when it quite specifically cannot be used that way, and also whenever Ukraine has been caught gilding the lily ("Ukraine wouldn't have to lie if Russia didn't invade!") In this case it's precisely Ukraine gilding the lily which is most significant- it was extremely unlikely to be a deliberate act either way whoever did it- and some of the more intemperate and knee jerk remarks from those whose job it is to do and know better.

  27. I've never understood the big concern over whether something gets blown up by Russians or Ukrainians. Whether it is a Russian attack or a Ukrainian accident doesn't change the fact that Russia is the aggressor and this is all on them.

  28. I beat sea of stars. It was good. I feel like 10/10s are so freely given with games. I'd give it a 7/10 maybe 8/10 if I was generous. Combat is good. A little easy though. I kind of suck at RPGs and I only died 3 times. Graphics and running around the environments was the best part. One of the prettiest pixel art games I can think of. The tools you unlock make traversing fun. Bunch of simple puzzles. only one I had to look up, because it had to do with colors and I'm colorblind... (at least I think it had to do with colors because I had no idea what to do... and the symbols had colors.) Fairly short, for a JRPG style game. Which is fine because the story was the worst part. It wasn't bad, there were some moments that made me laugh(ol). Just that the main narrative was a little bland. Special main characters save the world from an unbeatable foe. Not awful, just mostly forgettable.

  30. No Man's Sky - "last played - two years ago" - "Playtime - 16 minutes." Don't even recall if I had any reason for such a short trial phase. ---an hour of install and feature fiddling later--- Oh yeah, I remember now. It uses Vulkan I guess, which seemingly means many 3rd party screenshot programs don't work. At least mine doesn't. Steam Overlay ss feature supposedly does, but I don't use/refuse to use that. Although weirdly, I can record video of the game w/my program and grab pic frames that way but more PITA. I have no idea why video recording works but a screenshot does not. Different hooks? And now I also remember that the start/tutorial stuff kinda bored/annoyed me with all the radiation and other survival hazards, starting menus/info navigation that felt a bit over-load-y. eg, I was too lazy to learn to play. So that plus no screenshots, plus I'm never sure if I really like outer-space settings - and I probably just never turned it back on. I'll give it a fair shake this time.

  31. TESIII: Morrowind. Became a clan-friend of an Ashlander clan, the chosen of Azura (sort of?), and most importantly found several pieces of Daedric armour that I could not wear effectively and a merchant with 10,000 gold per day, successfully solving any financial issues for some time. Also found an ebony short sword and several pieces (not a set) of glass armour and became the highest-ranked Blade agent in Morrowind. The only issues so far are occasionally falling through the floors in Vivec, the inability to do main quests out of order (was visiting the Hlaalu councillor several times without the ability to ask him to make me the Hortator), and that Caius Cosades did not tell me how to get to Tel Fyr and I could not ask anyone (so had to look up online). Also, I probably should have started as an Argonian. Though, I do like the story so far.

  32. I'm exploring Reithwin. I met with a lot of crazy people, helped two children and recruited Halsin. And the owlbear cub finally returned. Karlach's romance is working. Withers seemed displeased about it, but he is busy now explaining to Arabella what he is, so good luck with that. I imagine how many people were spying at night. I bet someone wanted to talk with my character but decided to leave it for another night.

  33. Zaedar's Rule #1 - Friendly Fire ISN'T This game is deep and extremely well made, it's quite easy to blow off your own foot and this is just one way to do it. In my opinion the Company Captian's Cap is not bugged. The description clearly states: 'Grants Confuse when hit by a Critical Hit' ... so, if you crit the character wearing the cap you may be confused (double entendre intended). The above may work to your advantage or disadvantage (as with many, many actions or choices you make). As an example of an advantage: Let's say that your main tank is Eder and he has donned the cap but is in the process of leveling the confused proc. You really want to level the cap (because confuse is a very very powerful spell).. so as soon as Eder has engaged Grieving Mother casts Soul Shock on Eder an crits. Tada! One more step closer to leveling the cap (as Grieving Mother is confused). I must say that the above Shod in Faith example would be a much better way. As an example of a disadvantage: Eder again but this time it's mid battle and he has been taking some hits (but no crits).. Durance crits Eder with a heal and proceeds to wander over and starts smiting Aloth. I look at it this way - some of the most powerful magic items have always been cursed.

You CAN still cast spells, but with 3 INT you have to be choosy. Summons still last normal duration. Some buffs have generous base durations and are simply too good to pass up, like Delegman's form and Returning Storm. I recommend Spell mastery of Talon's Embrace, so you can quickly cherry pick kills to trigger your gear buffs between shifts. Beetle shell is a commonly overlooked very good spell, superior to withdraw in many ways. You can even drop it on your tank to extend his Health (not endurance) by 100 per cast. Fire god-like, barbarian retaliation, and Binding Rope still trigger and enemies continue to attack him, which is usually what you want so he/she can resume attacking them back. Taste of the Hunt and Runner's Wounding Shot, just like the wounding tusks, benefit from the bugged, reverse mechanics of INT, so Taste adds a quick 40 raw damage in a mere 4 seconds to your primary murder tusk attack. If you're exceedingly fond of cruelness, you can caste petrify then immediately follow up with murder tusks, but please adjust the Likes number above upward. If something lives long enough to die from wounding, runner's, or taste after you've reverted to mortal kith form, it triggers your gear buffs. Sanguine gives you 2 frenzy procs and it actually makes sense on this build because you shift after proc and still have another proc for later. Unrelated, but wearing on a barbarian doesn't apply greater frenzy /sadface. If you are still looking at this build thinking 3 INT is bat guano crazy on a caster, feel free to have your priest cast Salvation of Time. And if this isn't crazy enough for you, you could have your Cipher cast Wildleech on this guy and hope for the 1 in 6 chance it lowers your INT to 1. Druids have low base accuracy in kith form, but shifted those tusks are +20 ACC, so suck it Mythical Soulbounds!

  37. 16X the detail! I'm not sure if I'm going to stick with this character, I'm just messing around and making sure everything works correctly, especially since I installed some mods: Morrowind Optimization Patch Morrowind Enhanced Textures Morag Tong Expanded Morag Tong Polished Tamriel Rebuilt The first two are self explanatory, the next two are the mods @BruceVCrecommended, and the last is a giant mod aimed to reconstruct the original vision of the game, before it was scaled down. It adds the Morrowind mainland and new items and quest, hundreds of them. I'm not sure if it adds House Indoril and House Dres, I didn't see anything mentioned in the description, but those 2 great houses were supposed to be in Morrowind and joinable in the original vision of the game before it was scaled down. They're only mentioned in passing in the game that shipped. I doubt they'll be joinable in this mod, but it would be nice to have some interactions with them, perhaps some quests. So far so good. Side note: One of the optional enhancements with OpenMW 0.48 is smoother animations. They're still terrible by today's standards, but they're light years better than the animations I remember from playing this many many years ago. Obviously, I can't show them off in a still image.

  38. After BG3 scraching an RPG itch, I finally gathered courage and installed Pathfinder:WotR. I created character, went through intro with some community play flavour to it "It is I, protector of this fair city, and also a dragon!". My enthusiasm evaporated as soon as I gained control over characters. Why is it, that recent RPGs can't be asked to design a UI? Both Pathfinder and Baldur's Gate3 are awful in that regard. You get a character, and all you get is a pile of icon and it is up to you to make sense of it. I can manage it for one character, but I already got 4 party members with classes I am unfamiliar with and I have to stop, read up and play a bit of "design your UI" before venturing forth.
