  1. Probably part of the wider Dev conspiracy to stop people from enjoying their games. It is obvious they do it on purpose.

  2. I've never understood the big concern over whether something gets blown up by Russians or Ukrainians. Whether it is a Russian attack or a Ukrainian accident doesn't change the fact that Russia is the aggressor and this is all on them.

  3. Here's an extremely interesting interview that provides quite a lot of fascinating historical context that doesn't disregard, for instance, the manifold failures of the US along the way, particularly in its politics. I'm especially thinking of people like @Gorth and @BruceVC who might be interested to take the time (which I personally took during a work project that allowed it, but only in the listening sense).

  5. Pennsylvania announces automatic voter registration PA is likely a battleground state in 2024, so this is big news. https://www.gpb.org/news/2023/06/08/new-study-shows-the-impacts-of-automatic-voter-registration-in-georgia georgia shifted purple contemporaneous with auto voter registration. young people has historically been failures at registration. unless a candidate or issue captures the imaginations o' millennials and gen z, registration becomes an afterthought. automatic registration is not a panacea for combating youth apathy, but it does result in a noteworthy uptick in millennial and gen z turnout on election day and especial in states like california where mail-in is de rigueur. in 2016, clinton lost PA by less than a % point... ~45K votes. edit: the reason we added the fox news link is so those interested could read the comments section. am aware europeans is unable to access the comments. you do not need take our word, but as one might imagine, the fox viewer feedback is dominated by conspiracy theories 'bout how auto registration leads to massive voting fraud. sure, auto registration is already a thing in multiple states and unsurprising there is safeguards in place to make certain people who should be prevented from voting do not gain access to the franchise because they acquired a driver's licensee. tucker carlson may be gone from fox, but the conspiracies remain, eh? 'course the writer o' the linked article does nothing to disabuse readers o' their obvious anticipated misapprehensions. HA! Good Fun!

  6. 16X the detail! I'm not sure if I'm going to stick with this character, I'm just messing around and making sure everything works correctly, especially since I installed some mods: Morrowind Optimization Patch Morrowind Enhanced Textures Morag Tong Expanded Morag Tong Polished Tamriel Rebuilt The first two are self explanatory, the next two are the mods @BruceVCrecommended, and the last is a giant mod aimed to reconstruct the original vision of the game, before it was scaled down. It adds the Morrowind mainland and new items and quest, hundreds of them. I'm not sure if it adds House Indoril and House Dres, I didn't see anything mentioned in the description, but those 2 great houses were supposed to be in Morrowind and joinable in the original vision of the game before it was scaled down. They're only mentioned in passing in the game that shipped. I doubt they'll be joinable in this mod, but it would be nice to have some interactions with them, perhaps some quests. So far so good. Side note: One of the optional enhancements with OpenMW 0.48 is smoother animations. They're still terrible by today's standards, but they're light years better than the animations I remember from playing this many many years ago. Obviously, I can't show them off in a still image.

  8. 'Give me the damage...and give it to me RAW' Hi guys, sorry about bad English firstly. Not much action on forum lately but i wanted to share this build anyways. Because its not a much preferred multiclass, on the paper has no sinergy whatsoever but when i play this was FAR the most powerful and fun build. And its noob friendly. Ok on druid side we have crazy powerful aoe damages and on cipher side we re deadly against single target bosses. We have a weapon for every situation, crowd control, debuffs, buffs, single target healing, aoe healing, everything..I assume you install community patch and i ll make my comments in that version, but this will be powerful even without it. Beguiler is a very good subclass, you debuffs enemies and gain focus while you do it and it has no negative impact, with +4 power level we ll have with this build a single phantom foes cast will fill our focus full. Ancient: +1 power level with our most damaging spells is very good. Summon sporelings is a good distract early game. Race: Nature Godlike, we re gonna stack + power levels so its a good choice +2 all stats berath blessings is kinda must we re stat hungry Might: 20 - we ll have very high damaging spells so we want this at max Constitution: 10 Dexterity: 10 - we will wear leather armor and %20 action speed from captains banquet %10 speed from rapid casting will be sufficent Perception: 20 we don't wanna miss and we don't wanna graze, we should get all the accuracy bonuses as possible Intelligence: 20 Resolve: 10 Captains banquet should be always active %20 damage for spells and %20 action speed is massive, and also we ll be immune to mind afflications. Items Weapon slot 1: https://pillarsofeternity.fandom.com/wiki/Lance_of_the_Midwood_Stag The upgrade lord of the forest will be activated from our form of the delemgan spell, its a very good spell anyways and it will give us +2 power levels with cipher and druid spells. slot 2: https://pillarsofeternity.fandom.com/wiki/Essence_Interrupter In some fights we can struggle to harvest focus with our beguiler spells, you should use this weapon when it happens. Also you can get friendly summons with the upgrade from crit hitted enemies, summons are always welcome. Armor: https://pillarsofeternity.fandom.com/wiki/Aloth's_Leather_Armor_(Deadfire)#:~:text=Aloth's leather armor has been, tailored in the Aedyran style. %15 aoe effect is huge and it has very good defensive enchantments and low recovery. We look kinda ugly in that armor though but what can you do... Glove: https://pillarsofeternity.fandom.com/wiki/Gauntlets_of_Accuracy_(Deadfire) +3 accuracy, very simple but useful all game. Boots: https://pillarsofeternity.fandom.com/wiki/Boots_of_the_Stone some stats and resistance to might afflications, very nice. Rings: https://pillarsofeternity.fandom.com/wiki/Kuaru's_Prize https://pillarsofeternity.fandom.com/wiki/Ring_of_Overseeing_(Deadfire) Cloak: https://pillarsofeternity.fandom.com/wiki/Cloak_of_Greater_Deflection Amulet: https://pillarsofeternity.fandom.com/wiki/Charm_of_Bones +2 intellect and +5 accuracy against vessels which are very common enemies Abilities: Power level 1: Eyestrike: aoe blind for 10 focus which we get more focus back when we cast is op. Summon sporelings(auto): this is very powerful especially early game, i rarely use it after some levels though. Talon's reach: this is a hidden gem, with +5 power levels you ll deal around 80-100 damage late game in huge aoe. A fine finisher. Lingering Echoes: more duration for our afflications, works with druid spells too(it doesnt show up when you click on it but it works) Iron will: +15 will for 1 ability points, you never know you have to be protected against that nasty arcane dampener. Power level 2: Draining whip Phantom foes: this make everyone flanked in huge are which is not particularly powerful but we ll get huge focus back, most of the time max our focus. Insect swarm: a huge raw dot, but small aoe. Removes concentration. Most important its works against everyone even against undeads. Recall agony: its a %30 lash overtime. You will rarely use this against the bosses. But man it is very powerful. Power level 3: Secret horrors: a frightened enemy is a no threat anymore, and we usually get more focus than its costs. Sickened also useful for our spells that target fortitude. Nature's balm: aoe robust for our party, not bad. Bears fortitude, bulls will and snakes reflexes: we should work on our defenses even we re not close to the frontlines. Power level 4: Form of the delemgan(auto): its a very powerful defensive buff and activate lord of the forest for +2 power level. This should be our first cast every fight. Heart of the storm: this will give + 1 penetration for relentless storm and essence interrupter. Body attunement: this is -3 Armor with community patch, situational but useful. Especially where you want to gain focus with the bow, against high armor bosses. Power level 5 aka god level: Borrowed instinct: maan its gives us +20 accuracy and +20 all the defenses. Also -8 intellect and perception to the enemy? Yeah this is the best spell in the game. Plague of the insects: This spell cover all the map, aoe raw damage, BUT doesnt works against poison immune enemies, which is very common. Removes concentration. Relentless Storm: Stunlock all the map, even they have resistance aoe daze is very powerful too. Does decent damage. Embrace of the earth talon: a hidden gem, i mostly use this against poison immune enemies, where we cant use plague of the insects. Rapid casting Power level 6: Disintegration: This is a death sentence: make sure you have borrowed instincts active and debuffed the fortitude of the enemy. 90 damage per tick on hit. Yeah good times... The empty soul: +10 accuracy with will targeting cipher spells. Yeah good one. Venombloom(auto): weakened is very powerful and it does ok raw damage with all our bonuses. But it has like no range and dont work against poison immune enemies, i rarely cast this tbh. Farcasting: very useful actually, we dont wanna get too close to the frontlines. Power level 7: this level is kinda weak Ancestor's memory: very useful in long fights, especially for our priest i ll explain why The complete self: we will crit a lot and every +focus is welcome. Companions: i suggest you to sell your soul to the Valian company in this run and take Pallegina with you. Give her https://pillarsofeternity.fandom.com/wiki/The_Willbreaker -25 fortitude modal is a must in boss fights for disintegrate. Also her summons is a distraction we need. And use old siec chant and become immortal(gives healing with damaging spells too) We also need a priest for 2 key spells: Litany for the spirits: +1 power level and +5 intelligence is a must. Champions boon gives +5 might +2 penetration and activates nature godlike racial. You can use scripts to cast them auto. In long fights use ancestors memory for recast, because they re both level 5 spells. And thats it! the Abomination destroys every enemy in every situations. Physically and mentally.

  9. No, the reason people say things along these lines is so that it serves to justify their indifference toward the war and the plight of the Ukrainians. A lot of people in the world today, unfortunately, just don't want to be bothered by the plight of other people in the world. But they also want all those bad things happening out there to "go away" so that their indifference doesn't make them look bad.

  10. I have never done it and won't, but I suppose I can imagine at least parts of it. One drastic change that has happened since the internet arrived is that previously there used to be a rather widely agreed-upon reality that people had different opinions upon, while right now there is not even a hint of consensus on the reality itself. It is not doing us any good.

  15. Problem with argument is that it's kind of... specious. And never gets applied evenhandedly. Consider: "I've never understood the big concern over whether something got blown up by ISIS or the US. Whether it was an ISIS or US attack doesn't change the fact that ISIS wouldn't exist without the US invasion of Iraq so blame wise it's all on the US anyway". A great argument for rhetoric, and for generating butthurt among certain people; not so great for anything else. But it too is the logical progression of "everything is [originator's] fault". That argument has also been extensively used to excuse probable Ukrainian war crimes when it quite specifically cannot be used that way, and also whenever Ukraine has been caught gilding the lily ("Ukraine wouldn't have to lie if Russia didn't invade!") In this case it's precisely Ukraine gilding the lily which is most significant- it was extremely unlikely to be a deliberate act either way whoever did it- and some of the more intemperate and knee jerk remarks from those whose job it is to do and know better.

  17. I suspect it might be the general complexity of the ruleset. There are tooltips, but they might be insufficient. I used to auto-level up unfamiliar classes and focus on the ones I knew. Also, it should be possible to respec relatively early. I think, overall, PF had a more user-friendly GUI than Larian's D&D game, though the inventory systems were rather inconvenient in both (PF had less junk items). But. The level progression screen and actual pause!

  18. we got a number o' decent butchers in the vicinity, but we also got corti brothers which is a one stop solution for people interested in food. their full service meat counter would make our chosen butcher unnecessary if it were a smidge closer to our home. https://www.sfchronicle.com/food/article/Grocer-Darrell-Corti-navigates-a-world-of-rare-9182014.php https://www.winespectator.com/articles/the-wizard-of-all-california-grocer-darrell-corti https://www.latimes.com/style/la-fo-corti10-2008sep10-story.html the CB deli offers the best sacramento area sandwiches and am admitted impressed with their selection o' sausage, cheese, meats and specialty items. downside is their limited in-house baked goods. am suspecting 'cause o' the popularity o' their sandwiches, corti brothers ovens produce little beyond the bread for their sandwiches. we recent did a pros/cons lists o' moving to eureka/arcata in ca or possible to idaho falls (am kinda exhausted by sacramento summers) and one o' the cons were no more corti brothers. during the late spring through earlyish fall, we also got this place: https://www.davisranchproduce.com/ their selection is considerable, but davis has the best corn and tomatoes we have ever had anywhere, and the early season snow peas and asparagus is also beyond reproach. davis ranch has a fantastic variety o' peppers as well. not an exotic choice, but we bought a bunch o' poblanos earlier today. we get our eggs and bacon from another local farmer. rare do we need milk in quantity, so that is one item we could get local but do not. the US is the world's largest ag exporter and the california valley(s) represent a significant % o' US food production. it would be almost criminal if we failed to take advantage o' abundant local sources for produce and meat. HA! Good Fun!

The same doc mentions XBOX interest in acquiring Nintendo RPS editorial also isn't very optimistic, criticising how risk averse the lineup is - focusing on remasters and sequels to sure bet titles. Also this little gem at the end: XBOX willingness to dismiss BG3 doesn't inspire me confidence in them as caretakers of RPG studios that they have acquired. Would like to see the actual email - can't find the source of the quote.

  21. The planetary invasion missions are a bit more fun, but overall it is the game it is. More fun with friends. Protecting bases remains a stupid mission, since enemy mechs just need to run through the buildings and there is little zou can do to stop that, if you don't manage to shoot out their ****pit with a gauss cannon or something.

On the one hand, I've really missed the shop, on the other hand, my crew is already fully decked out and I don't really have any issues with crafting the ammo I need. Since I have almost unlimited amount of money now, I fear the shop will make the game even easier. That said, I do kinda miss the early game difficulty. Rolling with 2 squads of fully geared out mercs with high skills does make the game quite easy most of the time.

  25. I agree with your point, SC chanter as pure spellcaster is tedious, excepted with some equipments (at less for the Tekehu subclass*). Multiclassed, chanter are really nice to play with some martial classes (mage slayer - chanter with Effort ; Trickster -chanter for defensive spells et high dps etc, between spell casting) and with a full party, very versatile and potent character. I have a FF monk - chanter as main in several save. * of course, with some late game contents..

  26. I created a unique dialogue options report/statistical breakdown for Deadfire: https://wiki.fireundubh.com/deadfire/dialogue-options This is a follow-up to my Eternity/White March breakdown from last year.

  27. Back in 2015, another player parsed the *.conversation files to count the unique dialogue options for various character creation choices. I was interested in an updated list for the base game and DLC, so I wrote a XML parser in Python to produce a similar report. I also covered options that add disposition points and options that check disposition points. FULL REPORT WITH DLC BREAKDOWN DispositionAddPoints Breakdown This breakdown reports the number of dialogue choices that add a Minor, Average, or Major amount of disposition points, as well as the total amount of points for each disposition-strength pair. Strengths: Minor = 1 point, Average = 3 points, Major = 7 points Ranks: Rank 1 = 1 point, Rank 2 = 25 points, Rank 3 = 50 points, Rank 4 = 75 points Notes: I wasn't sure whether to leave in the conversations in the "prototype_2" folder, so I erred on the side of caution and I left them in. I excluded the conversations in the "conversations" root and "conversations\test" folders. No options were filtered out, such as the Fire Godlike checks in The Ruins of Cilant Lîs. Keep that in mind! If I forgot anything, let me know! Race Notes: [Race] The single Human check also checks for Aumaua, Godlike, and Elf. [subrace] Island Aumaua have no checks in Eternity, White March I, or White March II. Culture Notes: The Nassitaq check also checks for TheWhiteThatWends. The same is not true of TheVailianRepublics, and since you can choose only OldVailia as a background, I guess Fyrga never says this to you:

  28. I know this keeps coming up but what is the logic of this? The first chapter of POE1 is by far the hardest. While POTD players are a very small percentage I think a significant portion of casual gamers would like to ramp up the difficulty late game. Has Josh Sawyer ever directly addressed this? P.s. I easily beat POE1 in POTD with 2 companions so this isn't about me.

  29. Well, 12 of the 15 in Eternity are part of the Cilant Lîs brazier-trap puzzle: "Flames kindle swiftly in the brazier, winding their way upwards." "[Touch your fiery hair to the brazier.]" And I believe you see that dialogue only once (<Persistence>MarkAsRead</Persistence>). Another node is shared with Moon Godlike, Nature Godlike, and Snow Elf. So, subtract 11+1 and you get a number that's in line with the others.

  30. I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking out for the highest dpser in my party I can tell you I don't min max. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long playthrough. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you attack someone else now that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you (my party member will do that). But if you don't, I will stand my ground, I will face tank you. And I will kill you. [CLASS BUILD] The Yellow Flash (Riposte Offtank Rogue) Build Environment Version 3.03 with White March Part I & II Core Concept The Yellow Flash comes from the yellow trails that appear when Riposte happens. The Yellow Flash is also quick with her feet, boasting high reflex that is further boosted by Adept Evasion. 3.03 Riposte has received a well needed buff and so begins the journey of giving the skill a chance in my latest (completed) playthrough. Riposte now gives a 30% chance to trigger a Full Attack on a graze on Deflection check and a 20% chance on miss. Riposte attacks will carry the same benefits as the auto-attack version, which means they are can be sneak attacks/deathblows, and can trigger on-hit/on-crit effects. But it means that they can also miss. Also Escape now gives +25 Deflection and Reflex (10s). Afaik there is another rogue build using Riposte as a key ability but The Yellow Flash is built very differently. Personal Playthrough Experience I have used Rogues in the traditional sense (dual wield sabres) and they are excellent single target dpser. But they are in no way durable and I use skills like escape and shadowing beyond to drop aggro if needed. So I wanted to try something different and after some light research I started a playthrough with a MC Riposte Rogue. It is both a validation of how Riposte performs and if an inherently defensively weak class like Rogue can at least take up an offtank position. The playthrough I used this Rogue in is a 6man party (The Yellow Flash, Tank Fighter, 2H Offtank Chanter, DW Barbarian, Support Priest, Utility Shapeshifter Druid). This is a melee party (no ranged weapons). Playthrough is also done on Trial of Iron with no split pulling of enemies. All signature fights are attempted and done successfully. Recommended Stats Allocation MIG: 11 CON: 14 DEX: 11 PER: 15 INT: 10 RES: 17 Stats for Personal Playthrough Rationale Good RES investment to push Deflection to decent levels or rather to overcome the low starting Deflection of the Rogue Class. High PER for good offence in terms of accuracy / crit-rate. For the recommended stats, I propose to give higher CON. Reason is during my playthrough I find that while the Rogue fares well in melee, spell dmg will have the most impact in bringing down The Yellow Flash. So having a higher End/Health pool to sustain through the damage is helpful, and to booster Fort which tends to be the weakest save for The Yellow Flash. As mentioned, Escape add Deflection and Reflexes for a short period of time. Early on you can use to escape engagements. Later on, you can use Escape as an opening skill to engage enemies with higher defences. Shadowing Beyond is mostly to drop aggro when things go south but generally it see more use in early game. You don't really need High Mig as Sneak Attack/Deathblows + equipment will give good damage values. Not to mention The Yellow Flash has a good crit rate. Recommended Talents (a=auto, r=recommended, !=important) Weapon Focus: Noble Weapon And Shield Style (!) Cautious Attack ® Shadowing Beyond ® Vicious Fighting (!) Superior Deflection ® Bear's Fortitude ® Body Control/Unstoppable Recommended Abilities Elemental Endurance (a) Sneak Attack (a) Blinding Strikes ® (if there are reliable sources of Blind from the party, choose Crippling Strike) Escape (!) Dirty Fighting (!) Riposte (!) Adept Evasion (!) Deathblows (Ignore if you can't place stack status debuffs) Sap / Smoke Cloud Deep Wounds ® Quest Talents (For MC) Blooded Hunter Song of the Heavens Dungeon Delver Gift of the Machine Scale-Breaker Flick of the Wrist Dozen's Luck The Merciless Hand Galawain's Boon Rationale: Riposte is of course needed, but you might not be able to get Badgradr's Barricade early. So even though Riposte can be chosen at lvl5, you can opt to take it at lvl7 instead. Dirty/Vicious is for dps purposes. When I played a tradition dual sabre hearth orlan rogue, my critical count is about twice that of normal hits. The Yellow Flash ended the playthrough with about 30% more criticals than hits which isn't too shabby. Weapon and Shield Talent will add your shield's deflection values to your reflex and Adept Evasion further makes reflex attacks much harder to land on the Yellow Flash. Things like Dragons Breaths are very manageable. Crippling Strike is for opening skills and helps to trigger Sneak Attacks/Deathblows. Sap is mainly to interrupt mages' spellcasting but you can replaace with Smoke Cloud if preferred. Race and Culture Cultural Background Old Valia - Labourer Skills: Stealth 2, Athletics 5, Lore 2, Mechanics 12, Survival 8 Recommeded Races Pale Elf Spells will be the biggest source of "big" damage to The Yellow Flash. So +10DR to cold and fire will help. Coastal Aumaua Because Prone and Stun is annoying. They will decrease your defences and it is likely that your Deflection will be out of range for triggering Riposte Recommended Items Head: Maegfolc Skull (!) (Before: Garodh's Chorus Preservation Version) Body: He Carry Many Scars / Coat of Ill Payment (Before: Plate Armour) Neck: Mantle of the Excavator (Before: Lilith's Shawl) Gloves: Siegebreaker Gauntlets (Before: Gauntlets of Accuracy / Mourning Gloves) Belt: Gridle of Eoten Constitution Legs: Viettro's Formal Footwear (Before: Boots of Stability) Rings: Ring of Protection / Ring of Deflection / Ring of Thorns Weapons: LH: Drawn in Spring / Unlaboured Blade RH: Badgradr's Barricade (!) Rationale: Wear the heaviest armour as Armour Penalty is not that big of an issue due to Riposte. Maegfolc Skull is prefered as it help both the Rogue both defensively and offensively. Unbending is good as The Yellow Flash does not have many ways to regain Endurance aside for consumable uses. He Carries Many Scars for a defensive approach with the slight regen and increase in DR when the Yellow Flash is taking significant dmg. Coat of Ill Payment for a offensive approach to propagate Deep Wounds to attackers via Retaliation. Badgradr's Barricade is the best shield for this build as due bash and on-crit effect of Thrust of the Tattered Veils. The added deflection will help to create more openings for Riposte and the Weapon and Shield Style will add Reflex which in turn synergize with Adept Evasion. If you are lucky, you might be able to purchase Scath Gwannek from Azzuro. While not as good Badgradr's Barricade, it is still decent to tide you over till you can get the Badgradr's Barricade. You can get a bash shield called Larder Door very early in Act 1, but I feel the accuracy penalty is too steep, especially at the early stage of the game. For weapon selection, it is actually quite flexible. The crit rate of this build is not bad so you can choose single handed weapons with nice crit effects or high damage.I like WF: Noble as you can wield Drawn in Spring and it stacks with Flick of the Wrist. Unlaboured Blade is nice because of it benefits from all WF and Flick of the Wrist, has 20% speed to make up for loss of dual wield speed and high dmg/acc when fully upgraded. The spell proc is not that impressive though so be warned. Generally, avoid weapons that do hard CC like We Toki or Godansthunyr as they will prevent enemies from attacking you. Role Analysis Pros: This build can still maintain a decent offense with very good survivablility. On-crit effects from weapons (especially Badgradr's Barricade) do trigger pretty often. It is a relatively low micro management build once you established positioning. Once the items are in place, Riposte triggers at a decent rate against most mobs. It is a fun build in the sense that it goes off the beaten path of the dps melee and ranged versions, and it is still viable on PotD. Cons: It is quite item dependent. Until Badgradr's Barricade is gotten, the Rogue is in a place where it can either be a less effective dual wield dps rogue or a meat shield that doesn't really do much damage. So it will be advisable to make a beeline for the shield in Durgan's Battery meaning going through Ogres and the Constructs in Galvino's place. Against signature fights, the Rogue is generally not strong enough to tank the bosses alone. This is because besides Adept Evasion, there isn't much going for the Rogue that aids it's survivability. Compared to classes like Fighters, Monks and Paladins with class specific tanking abilities. Afterthoughts The Yellow Flash was quite decent to play in my opinion. And it is off the beaten path so building The Yellow Flash was fun for me. But it also depends on your playstyle. If your party is one that focus on hard cc to render enemies unable to attack, it might be better to skip Riposte as it will not be triggered frequently. I still feel that Riposte is slightly underpowered but at least now there is notable mileage from picking the ability versus before 3.03. Good Luck

I can understand both sides - ukraine who just want to move their grain through poland, etc. and the bordering countries who are worried about crashing grain prices because they can't compete with them. On the other hand, there are already rules that the ukraine grain can't be sold in european stores... but why does it happen anyways? Look at the people who are mixing the local stuff with it. This is where they have to crack down - give them huge fines or whatever, I don't know. I'm sure the authorities could find out who's behind it if they would try.
