  1. But they may have fixed that with the last week of EA.

  2. Elden Ring. Ran through the Haligtree without much exploration (I had all equipment I needed*), which was mostly enjoyable and I was shot by a not-Asylum-Demon only once. Loretta and Malenia's first form went down surprisingly quickly. Malenia's second form did not and the subsequent attempts were less successful, so I left her be for now and focused on the remaining shardbearers. I also discovered that there were 12 flask upgrades, while I had only 4 collected, which explained the healing feeling underwhelming. So, I looked up the locations and gathered the remaining Sacred Tears. Thus, after defeating Mogh and slashing the thing in the egg (without results), only the Volcano Manor, Malenia, and the final boss are left (not sure if I can reach the Leyndell sewers at this point or if I want to explore sewers in general). *in general, speedrunning through the areas seems somehow more fun.

  3. Goal nr. 7/2023 After two years long break after my PC upgrade, I have finally found mood to try another attempt at the Zero Seed mission on Hard Difficulty in my GOG copy of Druidstone – The Secret of the Menhir Forest, which I was still missing for 100% completion of the game. To my surprise even after some moves, which I have messed up, I was able to finish it on first try, and defeated the final boss with one of her minions under Oiko's mind control .

  4. Some missions may be timed. (When you search for some hermit/sage/whatever in the magic forest for example) Check mission descriptions for hints of urgency. You unlock more knights as you progress and can get some very unique choices based on your alignment. So if you aren't certain you want to keep a knight, don't invest too much in them if you are just going to fire them later. For example if you plan an old faith playthrough, that rightful Christian you can get early on may not be someone you want. On the other way, you have ways of affecting a knight's alignment (for example marrying them off to the right woman). There is no divorce, but there are a lot of ladies in waiting, so don't marry off your knights without getting a good benefit from it. And obviously, choose at least one axis on the alignment chart and stick to it.

  5. Going through the 4159th "grumpy/bored/woeisme/what is even the point" phase. So it's time for another meme cat pic: ...can't even snack properly. I tried, recently. Got sick. Lesson/limits relearned.

  6. Indeed. I'd love to know the percentages of Russians who buy and don't buy the nation's official rhetoric. I mean the real percentages, not what people tell when asked. But of course I'm not going to know. I recently read an analysis by a Finnish specialist on Russia; she pointed out that even after 30 years of being fairly free to travel abroad, the Big Misconception in Russia is that every country is like Russia, i.e. corrupt to the hilt, hence why bother trying to change anything. Not certain of the extent to which is true, and it has to be said that not all that many Russians travel abroad or even have a passport.

  7. I played BG3 EA just last week, and unless they massively change things about the early game, there's a good bunch of it that's pretty bug free.

  8. People are just being broken telephones and citing things they have only half understood when they heard them. Claim that it is impossible for a white person to be racially discriminated against, is distortion on phrase that White people don't face systemic racism in countries where there are white majority population. But even that is too simplistic way to look issue because minority ethnicities among white population will face systematic discrimination from majority population.

  10. Are you playing the first game? It is arguably the best in the series, but at some point you may want to drop the difficulty significantly. Just as your weapons pass through ethereal opponents, so does the fun factor That said, I really enjoyed the first game, even though for one reason or another I never finished it. The second game takes a lot of what makes the first game fun and removes that. It had a fun stand alone prologue where you play the last Romans left behind, but it doesn't affect the main campaign, which is a shame. The third game is turn based tactical RPG battles with a party of four, so may be most to your liking. It isn't bad. I forgot to play the dlc. It is on my to do list.

  11. Another good example of this is racism and the idea that only white people are racist. You only need to look at Japan to totally disprove this nonsense, but of course it exists pretty much everywhere else, too. Despite all evidence, I have come across some people who honestly claim that it is impossible for a white person to be racially discriminated against.

  12. Incidentally, here's a telling anecdote from a "classic"[*] book on Russia by the former Finnish president Mauno Koivisto. He recounts how he visited a museum in Russia and was told of the atrocities that the Tatars had committed. Being somewhat knowledgeable on the subject, Koivisto got frustrated and asked his guide about the Tatars' view on the same question. "We do not know that", was the guide's reply. No interest from Russians in other nationalities living in Russia. (Btw, not unique, this.) [*] I want the word "classic" to really mean something and thus be reserved to very few works. So I would not call it classic myself, although I have read it and it's good. For more info (in English, too!) check out this link: https://www.sttinfo.fi/tiedote/mauno-koivistos-classic-book-on-russia-due-for-first-publication-in-english?publisherId=2326&releaseId=69968904

  15. @Sarex as o' five minutes ago, having reloaded the end boss o' colyphyr mines battle with our first aeon character, improved aeon bane, aeon immunities and aeon gazes work proper. we did not test aeon spells. am not knowing what kp references by judgements for aeon as that ain't a mechanics thing but rather is quest related. inquisitors (save for a few archetypes)and a hunter archetype get judgements, so is not surprising the patch notes mentioned inquisitor judgements and not aeon judgements. the only aeon judgements in wotr is your mythic quest related pronouncements. however, the aeon character we tested is a sanctified slayer multi-class with no judgements, so we could not test inquisitor judgements, in case such is a continued matter o' concern. unrelated, studied target definite were working. warning: we will observe how many months past, owlcat altered aeon gazes. owlcat decided those who are immune to gaze attacks should also be immune to aeon gazes, which were a serious nerf. a couple wide available feats will make enemies and companions immune to aeon gaze effects. complete unrelated: the colyphyr mine boss battle involves a dispel effect. as many have no doubt noticed, effects from most abilities (is a few exceptions... 'cause?) is not dispelled by the boss' mass dispel, so domain abilities typical persist. regarding cast spells, the dispel is near total and complete. however, there is a few spells effects which is not dispelled and am suspecting is 'cause the effects is coded as abilities and/or 'cause is stuff which modifies weapons as 'posed to party members. example: crusader's edge is not dispelled. HA! Good Fun!

  16. There's a load of things they could do- from stuff they really ought to have done militarily on day one (target bridges over the Dniepr) to symbolic (target the Motherland Monument or Rada) to packing thermite into longer range missiles or drones. It's not possible anyway, but the sticking point isn't just being at war (which Ukraine considers herself to be, and she's the important one since she'd be claiming Article 5) it's active territorial disputes*. So for example Turkey may 'claim' a whole swathe of Syria and Iraq informally via Misak-i-Milli, but can't call on NATO for help for their invasion as they didn't claim it formally on accession. Similarly, can't call on NATO to help them in Cyprus even if they wanted to. If Ukraine wanted to join NATO she'd have to cede anything occupied, assuming the war itself wasn't active. Though, of course, NATO is free to amend or ignore its own rules any time, for any reason. *and to be even more specific, active territorial disputes in the Treaty Region, hence no NATO article 5 when Argentina invaded the Falklands nor did their claims on Las Malvinas stop Britain joining in the first place.

  19. Perhaps the most amusing thing to me about Elon Musk's efforts to rebrand Twitter was that it runs afoul of an existing trademark in Japan for the long-running progressive metal band X Japan: X Japan halt Twitter's rebrand in Japan, as band return with first music in eight years

  21. It is. Unless Gorgon assumes the 3 day early access is still a thing - it is not. It's been scrapped for PC once the game's release has been moved a month earlier. https://twitter.com/baldursgate3/status/1684597242496253952?s=20 As I don't want to start anything new before BG3 come out I have been finishing some leftovers: Weird West - oddly enough the final character had some decent sidequests. I wish there was more of those in the game. I liked it alright, but I thought content was a bit too repetitive. And the game wasn't balanced enough to encourage using the sandbox. Return to Monkey Island - I really liked it. I don't know why people were upset about the ending. It is very Monkey Island - like. MI2 went very meta as well.

  22. Yeah, I have been thinking about it too. It should be an easy choice, since I enjoyed Divine Divinity and the Original Sin games well enough. But I am hesitant to drop full monies on a game nowadays, and since I am still on a bit of a high from Jagged Alliance 3 being amazing, I figure it will be easy to regret my purchase.

  24. Finally completed my first (Angel) run through Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous yesterday. Successfully completed the full secret ending. All in all a fun, great experience with the game. I more than got my money's worth, including money spent on the two DLC season passes. Looking forward to Azata, Aeon, and Legend runs in the future. Trying to decide what I should play next. Maybe go back to Solasta to the play the last DLC. I'm surely going to be buying Starfield, but I won't be able to actually play the game anytime soon. Like @BruceVC, I also have the rule of not playing a new game, especially a big new game, for several months until major patching is done (and possibly even the release of some DLCs). But in Starfield's case there's also the issue of needing to buy a new gaming computer because my current machine is 8 years old and won't handle it. I want to be able to spend a good amount of money on a really good new machine maxed out on processor, memory, graphics, and SSD. So I want to take my time and shop for a good deal/sale prices.
