  1. I*m looking forward to phantom liberty. By the way, if you are still waiting for CDPR to fix enough bugs to play Cyberpunk, it's pretty good now.

  2. I returned to Drezen and the place is a mess. It looks worse than my Chaotic Good Kingdom in Pathfinder: Kingmaker, which literally had garbage piles on the streets. Galfrey left on a suicide mission, but Anevia was really good at making the queen look nice and respectful to me. There was even a funeral! Iomedae showed up (funny to see everyone bending the knee, even Regill, and Nenio not asking any weird questions) and Nocticula and Areelu joined the party. Nocticula’s comment about Iomedae’s incompetence was gold. If I was there in my character's place I'd try to hold my laughter making it even worse. Iomedae would be pissed. And there was also this one: And who would have guessed that Regill would side with Iomedae and Seelah wouldn’t? I know I will.

  3. A week in San Diego with my wife on the government's dime? It sounded like a fun challenge. Most of my vacations revolve around exercise, so training with the Marines seemed up my alley. My wife is the one who got us on board. She teaches PE and interacts with her local recruiter regularly, so he set us up. Teachers don't get a lot of chances to get flown places and spoiled for a week, either.

  4. I personally liked the difficulty curve, early on every fight needed thinking and later in the game you just steamroll the trashmobs. My complaint is that the boss fights are not hard enough, or to be more precise certain boss fights along the main quest line (the optional bosses are great). I do understand why they did it, as they want people to finish the game and these type of games already have low percentage of people who do that anyways. I will not say anything bad about the mini game on the world map because for all it's faults it's still in another dimension compared to what you were forced to go through in Kingmaker... My "complaint" is that the game is too long, which is not to say that I didn't like the amount of content, but I feel like they could have improved a lot of things by spending less time on quantity and more on quality.

  5. This build would definitely work for Maia, although the Gunhawk subclass is less optimal than the stalker for the melee geomancer build that @Boeroer suggests. But you could still do it. As for grimoires, you definitely want a grimoire with Concelhaut's draining touch, as you do not want to learn this spell, since doing so makes the grimoire switch trick impossible. Ultimately you'll want Concelhaut's grimoire, but early game you can get the Blood Soaked grimoire from the Tangaloa temple ruins crypt on the island just south of Port Make. You can take the enemies on there early, once you're about lvl 7.

  6. Ah ok, fair. Does the recruiter interact with her officially ? If so, US recruiting is impressive! In Canada the Forces here are underfunded so I assume they lack the ability to do that kind of stuff so is outside of my experience.

  7. I went to a BBQ yesterday. The weather was spectacular, save for the fact that it was hot as ****, but it's July in Cackalacky, it comes with the territory. My friend Thiago is the grill master. We bring him the meats and he grills them; my dude is a freakin' magician on the grill, plus he makes amazing chimichurri. An utterly obscene amount of food, meat and otherwise, was consumed. I brought kielbasa from the Polish store, there was steak, wings, pork belly, and the surprise hit from the previous cookout, chicken hearts. After I got home I was in a food induced coma on the couch for several hours. Good times!

  8. While I can understand the random encounters on a design or lore level (there needs to be some danger to sleep and you are in a demon infested hellscape), in practice it's just annoying. Getting my unbuffed backline mowed down by archer gang #42069 is more annoying and tedious than challenging. I'm less inclined to cut quests than cut or condense the mobs in quests or specfix areas, but it's been a while and there are definitely certain quests that could be cut. Anything with Owlcat puzzles comes to mind. Some areas are fine, but others are packed so much you can throw a rock in any direction and hit a mob. Off the top of my head and several months removed from having played WotR, I think Wintersun and the Baphomet mazes would have both benefitted from less but better designed mobs. For a guy known as the most clever demon lord the goat man really should use more tricks besides minotaur pairs. It's definitely a hard agree on the environment. Dialogue is bad but I'd be lying if on a meta level "(Evil) I don't like you, Die! [Attack]" or "(Lawful) You broke the law, Die! [Attack]" didn't make me laugh. It sucks to play but it feels like Owlcat is trolling a specific type of edgelord who wants to be Doctor Doom and instead has to be an insufferable bureaucrat.

  9. Saint's Row: The lack of strippers, while odd, doesn't actually bother me. The more touchy feely sitcom relationship between the characters isn't really a problem either. In fact, I like that they all have an opinion about many of Kev's exes, unlike with Shaundy, where the whole joke was "yet another ex". What does bother me is the day and night cycle which means that half your time in the game, the game world is completely empty. Why are there no parked cars at night? Do people take their cars to bed with them? In general, I find myself more and more wishing Devs would not do the day/night thing in their games. The odd stealting while the NPC is sleeping (not a thing in saints row, but thinking of elder scrolls) does not balance out the inconvenience of the rest of the night experience. The other thing I don't understand is why I can't do petty crimes anymore. What was wrong with running past people in SR3 and picking their pockets? What was wrong with the abductions of people in the cars you stole? What was wrong with streaking? The basis of how yo do these things were there in previous I. It couldn't have been that hard to do them again. So it feels like cut content.

  10. Lol if they remade P:T in D4 engine, that would be worth asking price to me. I really wish BG1&2 would get Diablo2 style remaster

  12. were abnormal cool and wet in san diego this winter, but is generally one o' our favorite towns in california. is also one o' the better destinations for dining in california, although is tough to beat the bay area for food options. furthermore, usd and point loma nazarene college is two o' the most gorgeous campuses we has ever visited... though point loma calls self a university as 'posed to college these days. we never turned down opportunities to visit either destination. HA! Good Fun!

  16. Booted up Tales of Arise after 3 months of break due to work and Assetto Corsa league. Before I will be able to start the post-game content, I have to finish some loose ends for which I was low level before defeating the last boss. One of them was Grand Gnome super boss, which have been defeated today

  17. Gromnir's three unbreakables: thou shalt not engage in time travel other than mundane, linear and unidirectional. thou shalt not make bargains with your soul as consideration. thou shalt not accept boons granted by magical entities or items. admitted, have only had the opportunity to apply one o' the aforementioned, but our resolve is firm insofar as all three. ordinarily we try and hold to the unbreakables even in games. HA! Good Fun!

  24. FF franchise died with SE merger. Unfortunately. For me the best is and always will be FFIX. That game is pretty much exactly what I imagined at that time as the game about fantasy should look like and play. Despite some flaws, for me, up to this day, only very few games have beaten or get on par with the presentation of "real" fantasy world. I have played and finished every single FF game, with the exception of FFIII, which I never finished due to circumstances, and up until i played FFXV, I was sure, nothing can beat FFII in terms of haw bad that game was. Unfortunately I was wrong. FFXV is pretty much 100+ GB of mediocrity on a HDD, with pres X button to win "action" mechanics and sub-par story-line. The only exceptions are last few Chapters and the DLC challenges. In all honesty, the only reason, why I have played the game so long and wanted stubbornly, to get all of the trophies was, that I was so stupid, and spent more than 170EUR on collector's and royal editions, before I knew, how bad this game turned out. Yes I had my share of fun, while finishing it. Was it worth the money? Definitely not. Especially, when I started to feel the joy of playing the game for the first time somewhere around the 50 hours mark, when I arrived at Chapter 9 or 10 After finishing it, and seeing that it took SE 10 years to make this game, I am 100% convinced, that SE is unable to make a good FF game anymore, and I'll be skipping FFXVI unless they start selling it under 10EUR and release it for PS4 as well. For me new FF game, was always the reason to buy next-gen console. Not anymore. /end-of-rant

  28. ^ I think the folks who think FF16 is the bees knees are more likely action/combat fans vs lengthy rpg fans. By that I mean, the Devil May Cry side, so to speak. You're a solo, move-busting badarse. Main story/cutscenes are "great" (and probably much better than XV's piecemeal story, haha!) but sidequests are mostly stupid (MMO sort). They were clear they were making an action game and that's what they delivered. eg, if you want more depth to your mainline FF and were hoping 16 might at least bring at little of that back in some way, I don't think so. Fully modern era. But remember - you can pet the dog! That makes it 10/10 right there. ...honestly, the more I see/watch of it (asmongold has been running thru it), the less I want to play it myself. The combat may be fun and sure the story bits are visually astounding, but the rest seems kinda boring.

  31. xp cap for bg were 89,000. totsc raised it to 161,000. so your vanilla bg fighter could reach level seven, and eight with totsc. and bg were pretty freaking long, much longer than it is today. people don't recall how the walking speed outta combat were increased with ee and mods. HA! Good Fun!

  32. I play on normal but I avoid resting as much as possible and try to save the stronger spells for bosses, which means I don't use them that often. Also, I'm not a fan of buffing dozens* of spells even with the extended 24 hour duration, so that kind of balance things well enough for me. In future playthroughs I'll increase the difficulty, though. *After 6 months away from the game (ironically the same time lost in game), I completely forgot about the order to cast spells, so I actually made a list and here is the result: 40 spells for Sosiel (not counting the ones that last less than 24 h) and 3-8 spells for the other characters. That is almost twice what is seen in that Overlord video that has been posted at least three times here, in one thread or another. I wonder how many of the people would have switched sides on the spot if Nocticula had showed up in Kenabres instead of Deskari. Seelah's horse has better AC. Also, no immunity to fear? He would fall for my Dazzling Display.

  33. If you compare the stats of WotR monsters to the Pathfinder pnp source, a mid-late game demon from a random encounter on Core would probably be able to wipe out pnp Cthullu. But despite wonky balance and weird writing it's still one of the best games I've played in a long time. Somehow it beats games that I should objectively like better and I have no idea why. It is and it isn't, there's some stuff I wish there would have been a lot more of and could have used more stuff. Like mythic paths that aren't Angel or Demon. But generally I agree, it's a very long game which takes commitment to finishing. Not at all helped by rerollitis. Anyways I'm finished with a lot of the rush from work and with the heat dome making being outside miserable it's time to finally embrace being an undead monster and do a Lich run. For real this time. I hope.

  34. I have similar feelings about the show. I think it's the best of Kurtzman Trek by a wide margin but it still has that stank on it. My wife loves the show, though not as much as The Orville, as all the things that bother me, she either doesn't notice or it doesn't bother her as much. Have they announced any new Trek shows since STD, Picard, and Prodigy are done? I haven't been paying attention. Though I suppose I am on the interwebs and could look it up instead of typing all this out. *Looks like maybe Star Star Trek Fleet Academy.
