3 years have passed and hipsta microbrewieries production is still dominated by IPA. ...right, unpopular gaming opinion. Soulslike formula sucks balls. If I wanted to fail again and again (and again and again and again...) until I get something right, I'd take up craft so that I might get something useful out of it IRL eventually. It's already renewed, so we should get some sort of answer. (my prior viewing of us political thrillers suggests that, statistically, the answer is likely to be 'the vice president did it' as part of a plot to get the top job)1 point

hurl's psychiatrist scribbles something on her notepad and then peers over the top rim of her glasses. "so," she says in a calculated laconic tone, "you chose to categorize "happy" distinct from "normal?" @Sarex am personal not a fan o' the construction and resource gathering mechanic which is a staple in most rts. functional is a race to generate resources and any kinda battlefield strategy is secondary. in classic turn-based strategy games, the player is often commanding squads or full armies w/o the baggage o' needing maintain the perfect ratio o' peasant farmers to sawmills to barracks... or whatever. is no city planning and development in panzer corps 2. no need to search for quadrilonix ore and hydrogen 3 in battletech. yeah, many tb strategy games has resource gathering and base building elements, but is rare the core gameplay feature and is almost never the rush to generate essential units one sees in rts. red alert 2 is an excellent game but for us it is enjoyable in spite o' the all too familiar and kinda twitchy construction and resource elements. HA! Good Fun!1 point

I actually tried to post that I thought it was an odd class combo, except for one obscure build relying on spamming Her Revenge and Antipathetic Field / Mind Blades etc. If you're using scrolls of avenging storm you can proc a ridiculous amount of bolts doing this, with Effort Blightheart comes in mainly for the corrupting beauty pulse and SSS interaction1 point

With BPM, you could also go for a Ranger/Berzerker and stacks pile of accuracy with the reworked hunter's claw. Then just pick a weapon pair that synergize with your Crit seeking build like this one. Beza toothed blade is great to have around too to act as a can opener for your whole party.1 point

gold is rare 24k gold, and even then if the necklace has a clasp such is likely not gold. am also suspecting more than one person who believes their 24k gold jewelry is pure is mistaken. yeah, maybe your gold is mixed with non-magnetic, but nickel is an increasing popular addition to gold alloys, and nickel is magnetic. how do most o' us know for certain our gold is genuine 24k? as a matter o' policy we would ask for removal o' any metallic jewelry. It's a drama about Margaret Keane, an artist whose paintings of people with large eyes became hugely popular in the 50s and 60s, and ger second husband, Walter, who claimed he was the painter and the eventual breakdown of their marriage and lawsuit to prove who was the real painter of the 'big eye' paintings. Amy Adams and Christoph Waltz starred in it. In other news:1 point

I have a deep hatred of the concept of "S tier". S is the 19th letter in the English alphabet, not the 0th. You start with 'A'. If you need to retrospectively add something ahead of it, make it 'A+'. There, simple. Not strictly a gaming thing I know, but probably the most common association.1 point

the thing is, the linked story is hardly the first mri horror story am having heard even if it is one o' the more unique. as such one wonders why the techs don't at least have metal detector wands so they might give patients a quick check for overlooked artifacts which might be magnetic. yeah, the wands is hardly infallible and am not even certain if such a device woulda' detected the offending plug. even so, why not indulge a bit o' extra caution, eh? have had more than a few mri experiences over the years and for the most recent we weren't even asked to disrobe and then don a hospital gown. given how cold were the room with the mri, we were quite relived we were able to retain clothing. 'course without a complete disrobe am suspecting more than one person has overlooked a metal rivet, button or zipper. dunno. am possible overlooking something, but metal detector wands seems like a good way to catch at least a few overlooked jewelry, piercings, clothing fixtures and sex toys. HA! Good Fun!1 point

RTS games suck... all of them. Even Dawn of War games despite being set in the 40k setting. I make a bi-annual exception for Age of Empires 2, because it's so slow it might as well have been turn based, so the RTS aspect is less noticeable.1 point

That’s strange, since I also took the three wyrm invocation at earlier levels so I could have 4 phrases and that functioned as expected. Both the Skald and Troubadour subs fit neatly into the ‘infinite spellcasting’ archetype of the Psion multiclass, I’ve found, with the difference being that one increases the amount of resource you have available by making things cost less while the other does it by simply giving you double the amount; two sides of the same coin. Additionally, since skald can only get one phrase per action regardless of how many crits you get with said action (or so I’ve read here) it made sense to me to use Blightheart, which also gives you a phrase per action as long as you’re killing enemies outright or finishing them off and doesn’t rely on multiple layers of RNG. EDIT: I can still get phrases from melee crits, though.1 point

knowing how to make rancid beer is nevertheless a useful skill. a friend o' ours, at 3:30 am, once mused that if he were to be marooned on a desert island and he could only take two things with him to the island, he would choose a goodly supply o' beer and a broad-spectrum antibiotic. am not sure why he got to choose two items, but those were the rules o' the scenario. not bad choices. beer, bottled proper, is gonna last a considerable time, will be resistant to rot or degradation and would be representing a good source o' carbohydrates you would be otherwise unable to replicate on a desert island. we do not drink booze, but we always thought we should learn how to make beer. also, most o' our best conversations has happened during the hour of the wolf. edit: updated unpopular gaming opinions-- fo: nv would have been better w/o caeser's legion and in particular w/o caeser. were requiring sooperhuman resolve to avoid speed clicking through caesar dialogues. "non-linear" is a used car sales pitch in virtual every story-driven game ever made. provide a whole bunch o' optional and tangential side-quests does not make any less linear. ... warhammer 40k is a great tabletop strategy game setting, but am less a fan o' 40k for rpg. 40k is intentional over-the-top and tongue-in-cheek. am thinking meaningful role-play and storytelling is prohibitive challenging with 40k save in small doses. HA! Good Fun!1 point

Ok, I did a quick run to grab screenshots On the world map you choose where to build your settlement. As you progress you can go farther and farther from the Smoldering City in the centre. At the bottom you will see a bar, which is the time until the next big storm. The storms reset the world map - only the Smoldering City survives. As you can see, here I am about halfway through the storm cycle and have founded three settlement. The Smoldering City is the game's hub and is where you get your lasting upgrades. You spend your resources there and all the upgrades are permanent. When you select a spot on the world map, you can see what options you have for your caravan, what roughly awaits you. Basically it creates a random map with those parameters. So in this game, this is a few minutes in, as I am busy constructing my starting settlement. On the right is the impatience (if it fills up, I lose) : On the left the reputation (I fill this up to win) : During the game you also complete orders for the Queen. These give you one point of reputation each and at the same time reduce impatience. In this game, as I got easy orders (or am awesome enough to know what to expect and what orders to pick ) the impatience you see in that last screenshot is as high as it got. Mind you, that run was on Pioneer, the second easiest out of 5 difficulties.1 point

Finished Solasta. Took me 40 hours. As far as the game itself, while I am not a fan of turned based, it does do turned based combat in the best possible way, like XCOM. The story and quest are fairly simple and straight forward, but not to the detriment of the game, instead the whole package is very lean and focused. There are no uneven parts of the game, the encounters are to the point and don't make the game drag on. For what it is I'm fairly satisfied with what I got for my money. The only thing that I particularly disliked is that it's a low level adventure and as such there is not that much to customize build wise (although that could also be the edition of d&d) and there is a noticeable lack of interesting items. I think there is an expansion/dlc coming that continues the adventure and raises the lvl cap to 16. I will definitely come back to it.1 point

I can't find anyone selling the same -40mm springs that I used in my car to lower it, anywhere. There are tonnes of coilovers available though, so it looks like I have to rebuild the rearend to coilovers. Which is not a bad thing technically, but not what I wanted to spend my money on.0 points
