I don't even like mac-n-cheese, but I'll take that over what I have seen here. Noodles with ketchup? Good lord. As a pretty proud hater of ketchup, I would at least try the stuff you made to see if I feel any differently about it. Haven't found one I liked yet, but you never know...3 points

Good point, it was supposed to be about the crepes actually. But it's funny either way In truth though I used a sweet chili sauce for the crepes since I used heavily spiced minced meat as filling, the pizzas were kebab-pizza and as such "kebab sauce", spicy variant, was used - as is tradition.2 points

was the ketchup for the crepes, pizza or both? is a little vague and your recent posts indicate we should not make assumptions. HA! Good Fun!2 points

It is not a rule as such, but it is well known that after a certain age, people tend not to change their views. In fact, even in a realm as objective as physics, Max Planck has pointed out that science progresses one funeral at a time. What he meant by this was that a new scientific truth does not take over by convincing its opponents, but rather because these opponents eventually die, and a new generation grows up that is familiar with new insight. So even if you prove that someone is wrong, that may not amount to much, or even anything. We know almost nothing about consciousness, but I suppose the relative inability to change one's viewpoint must have something to do with the way personality, thoughts, beliefs and such are physically manifest in the brain, and how the brain, once it ages, becomes more fixed in its ways. Children are much more malleable in this respect, and of course in many other respects, too: they tend to love many fairground rides that make adults nauseous. The apparatus related to perception, balance etc. is not as fixed in children as in adults, and therefore children tend to enjoy a bit of disequilibrium, whereas most adults have a hard time not feeling it as "wrong". Dancers, skydivers and such are often an exception to this rule, but they have made an effort to be. In cognitive therapy, for instance, it is something of a given that changing a negative pattern of behaviour often takes at least about six months of daily effort. So, for example, if you want to stop being a príck in your dealings with other people, you must pay very close attention to your reactions and words for at least six months and accept that you're almost certainly going to fail and feel discouraged quite a few times -- it's just not reasonable to expect anything else. NOT changing in this regard, however, is the easisest thing in the world. I would assume that taking stock of one's beliefs, biases etc. in the political sphere would be a comparable endeavour, i.e. not very easy. Btw, in the past two weeks or so, I've occasionally wondered (when on the forums) what @Darkpriest thinks about all the predictions he has made on the various iterations of this thread. I questioned his sources a few times (they were, quite frankly, essentially worse than useless), and it seems to me that pretty much everything he predicted has gone horribly wrong -- but of course I understand that the war is not over, nor is even the winter. I may also remember some predictions wrong.2 points

Maybe some of you still remember, how one Russian nazi was showing off skull of killed Ukrainian in front of cheering audience during some kind of performance. The skull of this scum was treated by lead from behind, and he ended up in hospital with very dire condition, allegedly incompatible with life…2 points

Just testing if the Forums are still broken for me after latest updates If it works, Behold: My complete list of finished games in 2022 below 2022 31 games – 1 GoG games, 10 PS3 games and 20 PS4 games 1 - January 2, 21:30 – First finished game of 2022 is Platinum Trophy run of Hyperdimension Neptunia VII on my PS4. I just needed to get out of my way last 8 trophies to finish the game on 100%. Some of the trophies were grindy, some were just awarded for item creation, and one was needed to be finished in platformer dungeon Neplunker Zero, which had some RNG obstacles, which made me go berserk few times, and then I needed to take some break, to be able to go on further :) . In total, it took me almost 160 hours to finish all the prerequisites for all of the trophies in the game. 2 - January 7, 22:00 – Next in line on my backlog was Super Neptunia RPG on my PS4. A 2D platformer RPG spin-off in the Nep Nep series . The game was pretty enjoyable, although not as much as the mainline games. It was also much less grindy. The story was little bit cheesy, but it had it's bright spots as well . It took me some time to get used to the combat, and how to properly set up the party for each area, to exploit the weaknesses of enemies. But after I got into it, I started to have much more fun with the game. The biggest challenge for me were the Magic Stone Challenges, where I spent a lot of time, because I am not much of a platform player, but it was a nice fresh air in between the typical RPG fetch quests, and I was able to get all 500 of them . 3 - January 8, 16:45 – Just finished the Platinum Run of Super Neptunia RPG on my PS4, which became my fastest Platinum Trophy so far (44,5 hours of playtime in 4 days and 17 hours). It really helped, that we had state holidays and the weather was awful and my wife was at work . 4 - February 3, 19:30 – I have started and finished my "lost" copy of Journey on my PS3. It was just a very short and chilled playthrough, where I tried to get as much trophies as possible. Of course, because it is almost two years, when I played it last time on PS4, I completely forgot few locations of some glyphs and symbols . But despite of that, I was able to get 7 trophies in this run. 5 - February 4, 11:00 – Another playthrough of Journey on my PS3 is behind me. The plan was to get some missing collectibles and to get the “surfing” trophy at the Sunken City area. And of course, I missed one collectible again, due to my clumsiness . Also I was able to meet the first companion, so 3 more trophies out of the way. Unfortunately, he did not wanted to play until the end of the game for another one 6 - February 13, 20:30 – I've just finished second playthrough of Tales of Arise Demo on my PS4. I just needed some break in between of my simracing trainings, so I took something short and easy. This time, my character of choice was Kisara. 7 - June 5, 22:00 – After pretty long break from gaming, I have finished my first playthrough of Heroes of Might and Magic from GOG. At the beginning I have picked the Warlock hero and after 697 of in-game days, I defeated the Dragon City in the last scenario. The game despite being so old, has still a lot of charm and I've enjoyed it most of the time. Unfortunately the not so bright AI does put some stains on the experience, but few of the scenarios would be probably very difficult, if it was any smarter. 8 - June 12, 21:15 – Third playthrough of Journey on my PS3 is behind me. The plan was to find as much companions as possible and to get last symbol for the golden trophy. Well, I found 4 companions, but clumsy me missed the symbol again At least, I was able to finish the game with one of these companions, and got at least one trophy for that 9 - June 19, 16:00 – And playthrough number 4 of Journey on my PS3 is behind me. Again, I was trying to meet some more companions for the Wonder trophy today, while getting the last glyph. This time, I was lucky with the glyph, but unlucky with the companions. Only two of them met today. Two online trophies to go. 10 - June 25, 17:30 – Fifth playthrough of Journey on my PS3 finished. Only one companion met this time 11 - July 3, 21:00 – After 6 years and 11 months, I've decided to get back to my unfinished 3rd playthrough of Atelier Rorona on PS3. The goal for this playthrough was Pie Master ending, while getting Rorona's Alchemy level to 50. Both goals were achieved successfully, although after three days of playing, I have remembered why I have abandoned the run all these years ago . Getting this ending was almost as much busywork as getting the Astrid Ending, which little bit spoiled my fun during last two days of playing. It took me 62 hours this time. Thankfully all other endings are much easier to achieve, so I hope, I will be able to get back to another playthrough after much shorter break . 12 - July 31, 21:00 – After almost 11 years, I decided to visit Atelier Totori again on my PS3, and start my second second playthrough of the game. I wanted to finish everything, what the game has to offer and achieve all prerequisites for the True Ending. I was able to get all the missing playthrough trophies, but unfortunately, I must have missed some character event, and as a result I was awarded with Rorona's Who's the Teacher? ending instead. It was a lot of busywork, especially getting 500,000 money, but thankfully, it is transferred together with the equipment to New Game+, so all subsequent playthroughs will be more easygoing . 13 - September 10, 20:30 – I've finished the sixth playthrough of Journey on my PS3. I wanted to relax a little bit, and hoped to meet at least one companion online. Unfortunately, no one was around today. 14 - September 10, 22:45 – I have decided to give my PS3 Journey one more try, because I have found one guy on Journey Discord, which planned to play today. We met at the Bridge level and my Wonder trophy finally popped up. He has shown me a lot of new ways how to go through various levels and out of bounds, so we spent playing together almost for two hours, and as a reward I got my last missing trophy Companion. So my journey is 100% complete now . 15 - September 16, 09:30 – Second playthrough of Atelier Meruru after 8 and half year on my PS3 is behind me. Again, the goal of this playthrough was to get all missing trophies and one new ending. Because I have already spent a lot of time on raising friendship with all characters for these trophies, the obvious choice was the Miss Popular ending. Besides that, I was able to defeat Eternity Goddess and Masked G for the first time. Unfortunately the free DLC boss was to powerful for me, so his demise has to wait a little bit longer. 16 - October 29, 16:15 – Finished my first playthrough of Atelier Lulua on PS4. I've purchased it few months ago, but never had a chance to play it. Now I spent more than 90 hours with the game and even without a walkthrough, I was able to unlock the true ending and Her Choice trophy. The biggest positive change from previous installments is, that there is no time limit anymore, so you can spend as much time as you need discovering the world. The biggest negative change are the enemies. Even on Normal Difficulty, they have loads of HP, and even with the best weapons synthesized, it takes long time to finish them all off, so at some point the fighting becomes a chore. Story has more depth than original Arland Trilogy, and is satisfying for this kind of game. 17 - October 31, 14:00 – I have finished Platinum Demo: Final Fantasy XV on PS4 to unlock Carbuncle Summon for the full game. I did not expected much, and still ended up disappointed. Big empty Open World, and clumsy real-time combat. I am not looking forward to play the full game. 18 - November 18, 20:30 – I have finished the main storyline of Final Fantasy XV on PS4. It is still mixed bag for me. Chapters 1-9 were pretty bland and boring, due to the mostly empty open world, and everything taking so long. The exceptions was dungeon crawling. On the other hand in chapters 10-14, I had pretty solid fun. Almost 86 hours spent means, that I enjoyed the game enough, to not throw it out of the window, as I was planning to do, after playing the Platinum Demo. Still it seems to me, that this game was failed live service, which did not achieve to hold enough interest for keeping player going back to the game. Having full story put in between movie, anime, DLCs, novels and audio dramas, did not help either. 19 - November 25, 17:15 – Storyline of initial releaes of Final Fantasy XV – Comrades DLC on my PS4 is behind me. After more than 18 hours of grinding, I have defeated Bahamut. I had a decent amount of fun, but Square Enix pretty much killed it with endless grinding. Especially if you want decent weapons. Which is shame, because I liked the combat system more than in the base game. 20 - December 1, 13:30 – After little bit more than 40 hours of playing and few retries, I was able to beat Ifrit, the final boss of the 1.2 release of Final Fantasy XV – Comrades DLC on PS4, and finish the whole DLC storyline. 21 - December 1, 14:30 – An hour after beating Ifrit, I have amassed an output of 999,999kW, required for the final Let There Be Light trophy of the initial release of Final Fantasy XV – Comrades DLC on PS4. 22 - December 1, 22:00 – The third one of the day was the final trophy of the free 1.2 update to Final Fantasy XV – Comrades DLC on PS4. It was needed to complete the Future: Comrade mission with all four protagonists of the main game. The mission was probably planned to be a challenge, but it was pretty failed one. Mainly due to sucky AI companions and the Bahamut King practically oneshotting everyone all the time. The fight, especially with Noctis, looked like this: 3 hits on boss, getting oneshoted, wait on AI to run to you and revive you, hoping to be lucky, that the boss does not oneshot you right away, repeat until the boss died. After enduring this for one and half hour, I had finally acquired the Beacons of Hope trophy, and I can finally put this DLC on the shelf and never return back. 23 - December 3, 14:45 – After a day of break I have finished Final Fantasy XV – Episode Gladiolus DLC on PS4. It did not take so long compared to Comrades. Only 2 and half hours on Normal difficulty with few retries, because I was afraid to use up Phoenix Down, as I wanted to save all of them for the final fight. In the end it was not needed at all, even though Gilgamesh did made me sweat few times . In the end, I had much more fun with combat, than in the main game or Comrades. 24 - December 3, 22:00 – All trophies in Final Fantasy XV – Episode Gladiolus DLC are finally unlocked on my PS4. The last two challenges were painfully hard for me, but also a lot of fun and a little bit of rage. Especially the Final Trial against Cor . Both challenges were all about tactics, a lot of patience and good reflexes. Of course, the last one is something, which I lack , so I spent on each challenge approximately 2 hours to learn how to execute them good enough to fulfill all the prerequisites for the trophies. 25 - December 6, 01:15 – I have finished the storyline of Final Fantasy XV – Episode Prompto DLC on my PS4. It is a very mixed bag for me. This one has also some sidequests, but most of them are pretty much unbalanced, and they have all some kind of exploit, where the enemy gets stuck, and completely stops attacking. What is the use of lvl 99 encounter, if it either oneshots you, or you need to use exploit to defeat it? At least final bossfight was enjoyable. That being said, IMHO Prompto's shooting mechanics in FFXV lacks fun factor compared to melee mechanics of Noctis or Gladiolus. 26 - December 6, 22:30 – Last two PS4 trophies in Final Fantasy XV – Episode Prompto DLC have been acquired. The two DLC challenges were much easier than in Episode Gladiolus, but they needed a little bit of practice as well. Especially the snowmobile Time Trials. After an hour and 20 minutes, with little bit of luck, I've completed all three of them with three stars rating. The last time trial, with exactly the minimum time limit required to pass it . The Intensive Training challenge against Aranea was pretty relaxing fight, so after 30 minutes of attempts, I was able to defeat her as well. 27 - December 16, 21:45 – After a few days of chilling in the main game, I have started and finished the storyline of Final Fantasy XV – Episode Ignis DLC on my PS4. This DLC was so far the weakest from the three character DLCs. It took me 4 hours, but I wished few times, that it would end sooner. The combat mechanics felt lackluster, and for the counterattacking, you need even better reflexes, than for Gladiolus. Which sucks for an old guy with slow reflexes. I am not looking forward to the DLC challenges at all. 28 - December 17, 21:45 – I have reached alternate ending in Final Fantasy XV – Episode Ignis DLC on my PS4. It was just a short session, but I had more fun, than in the rest of DLC. Probably because Ignis was overpowered by the effects of Ring of Lucii from the beginning of the final battle, so this overshadowed the need for better reflexes, which I lack . 29 - December 18, 16:30 – After 1 hour and 6 attempts, the Friendly Match challenge versus Noctis in Final Fantasy XV – Episode Ignis DLC has been won, and with it, the last PS4 trophy of this DLC is mine. The final attempt took me 10 minutes and 54 seconds, which surprised me a lot, because most of the guides to this fight, that I have watched, lasted more than 15 minutes. With the rumours floating around, that this fight is the hardest fight in Final Fantasy XV, I was postponing the playthrough of this DLC for 10 days, and then for another two days, to start this challenge. I just wanted to have as good mood as possible, and feel well rested, before attempting it . Now, that it is behind me, I have to say, I had more trouble to defeat Cor in Episode Gladiolus. I think, it might be due to both Cor and Noctis having similar patterns in a lot of their attacks, so I already knew when was the best time to press dodge, to avoid damage. But the most crucial thing to be able to win against him, was to execute almost flawlessly the counterattacks, which healed Ignis, and have caused big damage to Noctis. Thankfully, because of the animation of Noctis’ attacks, it was a little bit easier to perform them, than against common enemies or Ardyn, so even the old slowpoke as me, was able to successfully perform them in more than 90% of cases . But even with that, I had to use all of the consumables, with the exception of 1 Phoenix Down, which the game gave me at the start of the fight. Another crucial thing was, to save your High Jump special move, when Noctis unleashed his Armiger Chain, which needed crazy fast reactions as well. And as expected, I have missed it few times even in my final attempt . I feel now as much adrenaline and satisfaction, as when I have beaten False King Allant in the Demon’s Souls, for the first time 30 - December 20, 13:00 – After finishing all PS4 trophies in Episode Ignis, I have decided to relax a little bit and run around in the main game to finish some sidequests. During that, I have found a meal in an restaurant in Lestallum, with Equalizer buff, which boosts your attack by 2% for each level between your level and the level of the monster you are fighting against. So I have decided to take advantage of it, and went straight to finish the quest involving Melusine superboss, which were added to main game as a free update/DLC. I have defeated her on a second attempt, although she gave me some hard beating when she was under 3% of HP, and almost obliterated my entourage. Thankfully the game offered me invocation of a summon and then, Shiva took care of the rest of her HP pool . After reporting the quest at the Hunter HQ, I have received the trophy, and with that, Final Fantasy XV – July 2017 Update is 100% complete. 31 - December 29, 12:00 – I have finished storyline of Final Fantasy XV – Episode Ardyn DLC on my PS4. This one is an interesting mixed bag of an DLC. Ardyn, has definitely most interesting gameplay mechanics of the all DLC characters, but I find the content not much better than Prompto's DLC. Although, it still means, that it's the second best FFXV DLC.2 points

the frightening thing being am not particular challenged by playful darkness anymore, even on unfair. is proof we have played wotr way too much 'cause am recalling how difficult the battle were when we first encountered playful darkness. pd is technical more difficult today than at release 'cause you need strip greater heroism to make fear attacks work and finnean is no longer brilliant energy in act iii and... is just so many wotr exploits which make a mid or late game battle you may prepare for relative ez... if you know exact how the battle unfolds, all the enemy weaknesses as well as the innumerable pathfinder and owlcat cheese options. shield maze bosses is tougher than midnight fane on unfair. example: if you don't have a leopard, you are forced to kite and pray v. the water elemental. is just so few right options at low levels. if am able to prebuff, put down a guarded hearth, utilize the fortune and protective luck cheese, plus a dozen other options, then unfair pd is not so tough... save for when the rng choose to step in and smite us. inevitable darkness were much easier than our first encounter with pd and is not 'cause inevitable were less challenging. the thing is, after having played wotr multiple times, and with the benefit o' a level twenty party able to prebuff to the max, is our party which were genuine inevitable, regardless o' the foe. 'course we did purposeful build our inevitable excess party with a merged book angel main and a party designed to make the dlc combat a relative cake walk. more cheese. HA! Good Fun!1 point

the greatest strength o' our ketchup is also its most obvious weakness. am suspecting you are gonna wanna add something to punch it up a bit. alternative, find a store brand which has the absolute fewest ingredients, making sure all those ingredients is stuff you recognize and like, then pour into a sauce pan and add jalapenos, lime juice and cayenne if you like american-spicy, or add indian spices if you like indian or... whatever. btw, we use cherry tomatoes (canned is fine)'cause they have more sweetness than other varieties o' tomato and as you are always adding some kinda sugar to ketchup, you might as well use cherry tomatoes so you are able to decrease your need for brown sugar, molasses, etc. aside, cherry tomatoes is also the one variety o' the berry which is natural shelf stable and has not been over engineered withstand travel resulting in less tomato taste. cherry is literal the only variety o' tomato we will buy at a supermarket. But pork is haram. It's the haram food. It's so haram that almost nothing else is next to it... Anyway, kebab pizza is pretty good. It's been a staple of our (numerous) Turkish fast food places for so long that I never would have guessed it originated in Sweden.1 point

Honestly as good as pets are I couldn't see myself using a ranger without the party bond thing. Stackable bonus with (pretty much) infinite uses? Yes please.1 point

That has become standard MO during the fights. But the first time I got him it was Lann doing all the dmg, kind of random. Should have protected the whole party from negative level though instead of just the tank.1 point

is a slight spoiler, but you will be able to return to the midnight fane, so is possible to confront him after you level a bit. many suggestions for beating playful is gonna revolve around multiple castings of creeping doom + mark of justice. the thing is, am recalling you kicked camellia to the curb, so to make such a strategy work you need daeran with nature or you has to have had the foresight to add creeping doom to ember, nenio or some other caster by means o' loremaster. tell us what is your party config and am able to offer suggestions. IF you got sosiel, keep in mind the pillar of life spells both heals you and does damage to playful as well as undead types. no save. no spell resistance. no to-hit. the spell may be cast before combat and you may literal stack eight or more on top of each other. is a few bugs involved with meta feats and spells cast outside o' combat. am not sure if the devouring lust rod current works with pillars. the goggles of pure sight maybe were purchased from the jewelry vendor in drezen? playful has a whole lotta buffs which may be dispelled. give your best dispeller the goggles and you auto roll a 20 at least once on a greater dispel cast. guarded hearth and mark of justice is gonna be beneficial regardless o' your party... if you have access to such. HA! Good Fun!1 point

You could say that the Playful Darknes fight is......unbalanced. There's lots of tips, but in general I'd make dispelling him a top priority and feed some summons (swarms if you have them) to him to distract him. He's damaged by positive energy like an undead so the Pillars of Life spell will hurt him badly if you stack it and I think his will saves and touch AC are relatively low.1 point

Haha, yeah, I remember checking it out when I heard he was to replace Jukka Nevalainen in Nightwish and thinking "man, he's going to be bored" seeing some of his stuff from Wintersun and Rotten Sound1 point

Not sure about that specific drumcam, but I have seen him perform, for sure. He is brilliant indeed. I don't dig the music all that much, but he is brilliant. Are you aware of Kai Hahto's work in Rotten Sound? I couldn't care less about the music itself, but the drumming is sensationally precise, fast and imaginative.1 point

The "radical left" is one of those things that people like Jordan Peterson like to throw around with essentially no justification or veracity. It is lol indeed. It's interesting, btw, to compare the various rights and lefts and their positions to one another. Like, the American left, such as it is, is fairly right in Scandinavian terms, etc.1 point

Being a fairly capable drummer myself, I have a soft spot for drum cam videos. I think this one is delightful. The singer is no Dio, of course, and the general sound quality could be better, but Vinny Appice does a great job on the kit. Such joy!1 point

The whole relationship to military matters. Having been born at the time that I was, with some major wars just distant enough, it was possible to get the sense that an essentially pacifistic outlook was possible and then make choices on that basis. However, Russia has recently demonstrated that pacifism simply isn't possible to anyone who lives anywhere near Russia: pacifism is likely to get you killed, and if you happen to have family and/or other loved ones (as I do), pacifism just isn't possible. There is no question that if Russia had/has the opportunity, none of its smaller neighbours are safe, and the looting, raping and murdering will be just as merciless as it is now in Ukraine. I remember watching the quiz show QI and hearing Jeremy Clarkson (someone I certainly do not respect) say something along the lines of, "Pacifism is all well and good until someone like Hitler comes along". I reflected upon that a bit and recognized that he was correct. But that was an abstract realization which didn't immediately make me recognize that I myself had made idiotic choices and based them upon utterly childish premises. It was only this war that really brought home the fact how completely wrong I was. That was a bitter pill indeed.1 point

@BruceVC: You mentioned "bitter pill" above. I have had to swallow one bitter pill after the start of this war, and it was very bitter indeed. Life-changing events such as these are not easy to take on board.1 point

I can't help but think that anyone who takes the 88 symbolism seriously has fallen into some sort of magical thinking or has perhaps read way too much Jung. It is there if you want to see it like that, no question, but given the number of variables in an endeavour of this size, it wouldn't be all that difficult to find other obscure references, too. Makes me think of the design in the (Nike?) sneaker and the furore caused in parts of the Islamic world by the fact that if you really wanted to look at it that way, the squiggle could be seen as the name of god. I think this was in the very early 2000s -- I'm pretty sure at least some forum members will remember this.1 point

My own recording from Friday night... yes, sucky phone quality. But I don't think there was any pro-shot from Friday night to be found anywhere. No, I did not even try to record anything from Phantom of The Opera on the Saturday night, but I'm sure I can find clips on youtube from official sources for that one. this is a misinterpretation. there is no such thing as educational speech in the US. the fact that the gop is targeting teachers and education don't result a new category o' speech. state and local school districts has always been able to choose how they tailor curriculum and which books they is gonna buy for libraries and use in lesson plans. laws which says idaho ain't gonna teach crt is not prohibitions on speech per se, so please don't get confused. choose not to teach farwell to manzanar or a swiftly tilting planet is also not censorship. if a teacher in idaho talks 'bout crt in class they cannot be criminalized even if crt is not part o' the curriculum. the only categories o' speech which don't get US protection is fighting words (which ain't likely what you think it means and is a non factor 'cause no SCOTUS case has been upheld on the basis o' fighting words since the category were recognized,) obscenity (which is extreme difficult to identify and is little case law supporting,) and child pr0n... and child pr0n is banned not 'cause it is revolting or offensive but 'cause o' the inherent threat to underaged participants in crafting the media... which shocks people when they realize animated pr0n or cg which involves technical adult actors to appear younger don't trigger child pr0n prohibitions. (edit: to clarify, when am mentioning categories unprotected speech in the US am referencing those limited categories where the government don't need meet any standard to prohibit. child pr0n is verboten. period.) however, if you are genuine interested, am suggesting reading tinker v. des moines, fcc v. pacifica and the infamous bong hits for jesus case. much like child pr0n, the perceived potential victimization o' kids results in admitted fuzzy exceptions to ordinary free speech protections and those exceptions is akin to lightning strikes 'cause is no way to predict when the Court will decide young bairns need special protection. however, keep in mind that something like crt and alternative lifestyle choices is gonna skew far more readily with tinker than bethel v. fraser. is not educational speech, but there is an admitted grey area when kids is imagined to be potential victims o' harmful or disruptive utterances while involved in school activities. and you didn't read the link 'bout german limits o' press we included in the previous post, eh? Germany has some of the world’s toughest laws on defamation, incitement to commit crimes and threats of violence, with prison sentences for Holocaust denial or inciting hatred against minorities. Maas said social networks needed to stick to the law like everyone else, adding: “Those who care about protecting freedom of opinion can’t just look on as criminal incitement and threats inhibit the open exchange of views.” don't just read the euro press 'bout their fantabulous free press. recently the US freedom o' press has been rated by reporters without borders and amnesty international as less protective in part 'cause o' trump (and obama) making threats to jail reporters who leaked info... or trumps general toxic language regarding enemy o' the state. as it so happens, obama jailed more journalists than any US President since lincoln. jail, btw, is not prison. virtual all those journalists won their cases on first amendment grounds which is understandably overlooked. being jailed for reporting truth is bad even if you win freedom. 'course the main reason US ranks lower than germany and sweden and so many others is NOT 'cause o' legal protections 'gainst censorship but rather 'cause o' the very real threat o' violence american journalists face from ordinary citizens. trump speaks o' the press as a whole being an "enemy o' the people" and we even have posters on this board expressing indifference at the murder o' reporters. there is a real and embarrassing toxic anti-journalist culture here in the US and is fair to mention such insofar as penumbral freedom o' press, but such is not specific relevant to legal and Constitutional protections o' reporters and press. however, the only legal relevant aspect where the US suffers on those curious lists from reporters without borders and the like is the assange and handler issues dealing with national security. as we noted, obama and eric holder lost near all the cases involving journalists-- by definition their actions were illegal. have mentioned previous how is pretty much no legal Constitutional scholar who supports the way the 1917 espionage act has been used to attack reporters, but from a practical pov you are talking extreme rare instances. again, assange and handler is the folks who got all the attention. am knowing you still ain't getting what am talking 'bout with the strict scrutiny standard used in the US v. germany, sweden or elsewhere and so you focus instead on lists or rando examples or the text o' the constitutions. "Legally Germany has constitution that offers some of best protections for people's rights as it forbids changing those rights, but does not prevent courts interpreting those rights as limited." limiting those rights is exact why offensive and hateful speech by citizens and reporters in germany may be censored while such is not possible in the US. that said, am gonna admit strict scrutiny, while a far more restrictive bar on US government limits o' speech than near any euro equivalent has a flaw which refuses to die. world war 1 era case law remains which tells us the the ambiguous and vague national security interests related to potential espionage qualifies as a compelling government interest we mentioned is a foundational strict scrutiny query. sure, ordinary german censorship o' hate and offensive speech is gonna impact far more reporters than does national security cases just as would be true in the US. how many reporters in the US need be concerned with the espionage act? serious. even so, the espionage act stuff is gross and repugnant and not all is rearview mirror fodder akin to eugene debs. (edit: am not sure why we insist on spelling "debbs" wrong.) or schenck. HA! Good Fun!1 point

If its candy nodes: No mint nodes were respawning as nodes you simply bust (NOT the ones you dig up in the Sandpit) for me.... SPOILER ALERT::: Location examples are: 1) Trash Heap in Mint Container 2) Trash Heap Next to Lunch Box neat Black Ant Entrance 2) Plant Pot in Upper East Yard 2) Nearby to 2 near base of Stump Roots 2) Upper East Yard high up on Wall As SOON as I broke some full nodes of Cha Cha (not the ones you have to dig up) in the Trash Heap then the Mint nodes in the Upper East Yard started spawning again (after 2 weeks of game time)... So my theory is there is a maximum pool of candy on the map (lets say 8 chunks). If you never break any of these chunks then no more chunks of ANY flavour will spawn which means if youre farming chunks of ONE flavour only then you will have to break candies of other flavours to repopulate the pool if that makes sense....probably another way of Obsidian controlling farming methods1 point

If you make a custom history the first options for each choice are usually the best (or at least as good as the others). Important (possible) exceptions, and the only things you really need to check 1) which God you pledged - hylea is the best for nearly every case because she's the "good" option but more important you get hyleas bounty which is incredibly useful food for most of the game when your skills are lacking, and for many builds remains the best food throughout the game. If you're doing a no rest run which id recommend then hyleas bounty is the best food 2) whether to sacrifice a companion and who. There is no reason not to besides role-playing. The wiki has a list of bonuses under status affects (effigys resentment). Best one varies by build but Sagani is most useful for the largest number of builds 3) make sure devil of caroc spared harmke. Its the best armor you can get for about half the game, and for some builds may remain the best 4) aloths starting equipment depends on whether he was made GM of leaden key. If no he has keybreaker scepter, if yes then thaos headdress. The headdress is better unless you need an okay scepter early 5) whether eder remained faithful to eothas determines if he starts with night market amulet (+1 religion +1 stealth) or mayor of dyrwood for dyrwoodan mayor amulet (+1 bluff +1 diplomacy). Neither is terribly useful but the +1 bluff is harder to find for stat checks than religion or stealth, but stealth is very useful also 6) whether pallegina did her duty and screwed over the dyrwood. She gets better armor if she did her duty but it isn't amazing so not that important. Can't think of anything else of significance1 point

And yet here we are, with teachers in Florida cleaning the bookshelves, just in case so they don't lose their job or go to jail. Can this be reverted? Yeah, probably, but for now the damage is done. In multiple ways - it's additional work to (temporarily) get rid of all the books, who is paying for that, who is doing the work? Who is going to vet the books later, how long will this take, etc. etc. Then the psychological damage, additional stress for the teachers for no reason other than spite(??) or to own the libs or whatever bs. It's a big waste of time for everyone involved, and certainly not a good look. On the other hand, america is very big, so people affected could just go to a different place, I guess. That comes with a whole bunch of other problems, though. /Edit: No, and I never said that. Also funny that you are now insulting me. Way to make stuff up, too. I don't have anything against americans at all, I'm merely baffled by the funny laws you guys like so much, the way the rich can fleece the poor, and the way you defend those fascists. Good job anyways, here have a bee. /Edit2: What you don't seem to grasp is the importance of america in the world. Things that affect you has a ripple effect and will affect us as well. If things go terribly wrong in america, it's just a matter of time till it arrives on our shores as well, since we are very much globalized now. If that weren't the case, I probably wouldn't care at all, just like I don't care about places like Saudi Arabia (with the exceptions of the terrible human rights issues and so on of course). Personally I see germany as something like the little brother of america for like 30+ years now. We're always a few steps behind. This is good in some areas, and bad in others. Yadda yadda, I'm not in the mood to post a wall of text, I'm probably too uneducated for that anyways. PS: Just to clarify, I do not have any feelings good or bad about you personally at all.1 point

GOG and Epic can both be set to quit the application instead of minimising to tray in the settings. Not sure about Origin since I don't remember the last time I used it. And this isn't about auto start-up, as I don't do that. I'm perfectly fine with launching manually and typing my password every time and don't want that workflow to change.1 point

After a looong day's work I stopped at a different and larger ABC Spirits that was only a little out of the way while going home. They did indeed have Lagavulin, but only the 16 year old variety and... I'm not about to spend THAT much on a bottle of booze. For a special occasion, sure, but not on a random Friday. I decided instead to take the smoky and peaty characteristics and push the dials to maximum, so I got a bottle of Laphroaig instead, which conveniently came with 2 lovely dram glasses. The side benefit of being a Laphroaig drinker is that I can feign being sharing and generous without having to actually share any of my precious goodness that I lovingly refer to as "drinking a tire fire". Whenever I offer Laphroaig to people they typically make a disgusted face and decline, all according to plan. The one exception is my dad, who is one of the only other people that likes Laphroaig that I know. I'll happily share with my dad, though.1 point

AFAIK they're still making another Tomb Raider game, which is great because they were on a good trajectory. I very much disliked the 2013 (kill Russians, lather, rinse, repeat) reboot, I liked Rise (holy crap, a puzzle or two that isn't insultingly easy!) and I really really liked Shadow (This one felt like a legit Tomb Raider game, they even had a couple of puzzles that took me some time to figure out). If they continue down that path then the 4th game will be downright amazing.1 point

Still on Dark Souls 3. Finished all the Lords of Cinder and am moving on to DLC before hitting up Archdragon Peak and the finale. I'm glad I did, because Lothric's Greatsword is absolutely killing Ashes of Ariandel. Chopping down trees with a flaming ultra greatsword is a good time.1 point

Usually : - If it is a Vanilla bug, best to post on Balance Polishing Mod thread. But as long as you tag me it's OK. - If it is a confirmed BPM (not vanilla) bug, you can post it on Nexus on the bug register. That being said, I'm not too eager to get bug report that could tarnish the reputation of the mod while it is... I hope... less buggy than vanilla (given I solved a few issues). Especially if it is not justified (such as an actual vanilla bug...). So you could use the same method as above. Penetration from active buff don't stack. Penetration from Inspirations are active buffs (with a few exceptions that I usually remove for harmonization anyway). Penetration from weapon modal such as Haymaker are active buffs. This might be annoying but this is not a bug. Beyond redemption. Hostile status display their duration without taking into account who they are applied too. Which is slightly sad when an effect is always self-targetted. Armor from active buffs don't stack. Armor from Inspirations are active buffs (with a few exceptions that I usually remove for harmonization anyway). Armor from modal such as Iron Wheel are active buffs.1 point

Hey! I'm going to start by saying this is a really nice and fun game to play, spent around 20h on the first days of the release, exploring, building and testing the mechanics. The setting is really cool, the "Pixaresque" art style goes really well here. The story is short (so far) but I'm eager to learn more! A Roadmap to show how the updates are gonna be laid out would help tremendously. Down below are my suggestions on gameplay improvements, what I personally would like to see added and a small or content update I came up with. Quality of Life Equipment such as armor and weapon should not take up an inventory slot. General idea, the thing you are wearing cant also be in the bag right? Hotbar crafting, e.g. if you have a torch on hotbar slot 1 and it breaks, pressing "1" again will fast craft it if one has the ingredients for it. Same for any consumable item like the bandages etc. Sorting options, both in chests and inventory. Also making it auto-stack with existing stacks. Drop all button for a stack, so u can share stacks of arrows quickly or food etc and not have to drop one at a time. Crafting "x" amount button is needed aswell same reason as above, that one could make a stack of arrows quickly. A system where crafting auto-detects ingredients in nearby storage containers. Cuts down on the inventory sim. Show time left on downed allies. Compass marker. Slime mold torch should work underwater? Content Character abilities / feats - 4 unique teens that stand out, adding abit of depth to the selection creating for unique gameplay with different setups for co-op and single player experiences. Wheelbarrows / Sleds - Something to bring with you to carry planks and stems. Weapons - More tiers. More weapon types, E.g. Crossbows, 1-handed / 2-handed varients of swords / maces / axes, Shields, Slings etc. Weapon abilities - Essentially a alternative fire option, e.g. Spear with a charge attack. Club with a overhead swing. Sword with a spin attack. to diversify the weapon types. Armor - More unique one-piece gear like the Aphid slippers, Eg. Mining helm made from fire flies. Rideable insects - Ant pets, ladybug jousting, wolf spider hunting parties so many options ran through my head here and this could be a really fun addition to the game. Decoy items - Consumable item to throw either away from you or on to the attacking creature to lure it or repel it away. Craftable bags - Increase inventory space by crafting. Crafting materials - Sand, Mud, Clay, Plastics(?), Mining ore etc. Base building - Different tiers of house building, creating for unique building options. More shapes for different materials. Fences, Pillars, Ladders, Trapdoors. Stair options, Ramps. 2nd tier of stockpiles which can carry more planks / Stems. Interior building - Beds, Chairs, Tables, Chandeliers, Tiers of storage containers - chest/cupboard etc, Carpets, Paintings, Display cases. Decoration - Painting, color chests, interiors etc. Boats - Make leaf boats to cross water areas. Weather system - Rain, terrifying water just crashing down. Fog, seasonal themed weather e.g. snow. Weather system 2.0 - Hard ask here - rain could fill up trenches and alter the yard experience after it rains. Bosses - Ant queens, Broodmother spider, Infected lady bug etc. Some progression bosses made to fit the story arc or as world bosses. Invasions - event where one has to defeat a swarm of ants, or other insect life. Creatures Generally more of everything but to name a few. Flying - Bees, dragonflies, fire flies, hornets. mosquitos, moths Ground - Worms, centipede, beetles, Aquatic - Fish (to make water dangerous and scary), Striders, tadpoles, water beetles DLC Idea / Event Idea Lost and found Where players can find lost toys that through time have been forgotten and found by insects that drag it home to their bases. Either like action figure weapons and armor that have unique stats on it, or more Lego's themed pieces both tools and weaponry.1 point

I know there has been a ton of controversy around Obsidian's decision to drop from a 6 person to a 5 person party. I was not a fan of the idea then and after playing Deadfire a little more, I can confidently say I'm still not a fan of the decision. Let me explain another reason (4,721) why: This morning before work, I played for about 20 minutes and was finishing up exploring the second map of Neketaka (the one north of the starting map/dock area). I came across a Water Guild building where an additional party member can be obtained. I am roughly 18 hours into the game and currently have 5 party members. Through these hours, I've learned more about each member and now it's come to a point where certain members are concerned about other members and want to help them. One of these said members is someone I would like to drop, but since I can only make a 5 party group, this is something I don't want to do, since their relationship is starting to form. This means I will miss out on the party member I just obtained from the Water Guild. An argument could be had that this inspires multiple playthroughs (something I'm fond of), but knowing that I used to have a 6 party team still sticks in my craw, since I could have instantly added this new party member and started using them and learning more about their story and their abilities. What I'm getting at is due to the 5 member party decision, I feel I'm missing out on more character development and story. I feel the decision to move to a 5 member party has really limited the story and character stories in this regard. Please sound off with your thoughts.1 point
