Ok, I completely misinterpreted the *69 question, but I have used that function on the telephone too.3 points

I think ME3 suffers the most from the story that is going on in the background. "Oh no, the earth is in grave danger and about to be destroyed, we have to hurry! ... But first let me visit that place there to do those side quests."3 points

Hey guys. I've been wanting to try @Boeroer's steel garrote/blood mage build with WoTEP on turn based so I'm trying to create a mod to make offensive parry have a 50% chance to proc on graze. I made the mod by trial and (mostly) error before reading the guide but after reading I still can't seem to get it to work. I took the rogue riposte mod from the community patch to get the frame, duplicated it, and then replaced the values with the ones I needed. Offensive parry still works, but it will not trigger on graze. Can anyone see what I might be doing wrong? For testing purposes, the proc rate is 100% at the moment. wotep_test.gamedatabundle2 points

Oh man. Yes. Mimimi is a german Independent Studio that in recent years carved it's own nieche making Commando inspired titles. They appeared without nowhere with a really solid demo for Shadow Tactics: Blades of Shogun, that was "like Desperados but in Edo Japan". Interestingly enough the project almost killed the studio, as they went all in on the project - and came dangerously close to shutting down. Smart and clean interpretation of the forgotten genre, with some decent story: With how well they did the formula THQ Nordic hired them to do sequel to Desperados - they IP they were a holder off. Desp3 is pretty much a more polished version of Shadow Tactics, mostly using the same character kits and enemy archetypes with one new addition (which seems to be a jumping point to more fantastical Shadow Gambit). Both titles are very handcrafted in nature, with pre-determined mission order and pre-determined party compositions, so Shadow Gambits ambition seems to be to expand the underlying systemic sandbox those games have going for them. If they look like something you would like, I would recommend giving them a go. They are both excellent real-time tactics. Desp3 is a more polished of the two, with some welcome QoL improvemenets, but I personally prefered the vibe of SHadow Tactics - the M-Rated nature of Desp3 felt a bit off to me. There is also standalone expansion to Shadow Tactics - Aiko's choice, but it is a short DLC mission pack best played after original game. It is standalone, as it's been actually developed after Desp3 before going all deep on project Süßkartoffel, and team didn't want to mess with the old game, but it is best thought of as a minor DLC to the original - similar to the one Desp3 got.2 points

To me, this kind of stuff always feels like propaganda. Hate it in every game. Reminds me of The Division right now, where there are secret sleeper agents who will be activated in an emergency and of course they only do good. Please, we all know that if such a thing exists in real, it's always 110% some fascist crap. /Edit: Had to edit my post multiple times because it always gave me some error message. Did some try&error and found out that it won't let me write sleeper agents in "" - Makes no sense to me. Conspiracy much?2 points

Finished Uncharted 3. I suppose, it was somehow entertaining - the locations and graphics in general looked good, though the story, combat, and controls varied from ridiculous to horrible. I managed to punch my way through most of the opponents, because it was nearly impossible to aim with a controller. Binding the grab attack and rolling to the same button was a rather unwise decision by the developers, even taking the general lack of keys into account. The MC was completely unable to plan anything beyond "Nate wants the treasure", while murdering hordes of evil minions and destroying historical buildings. The said minions had no self-preservation, but were able to almost literally rain from the sky. The pacing in general was quite good in the beginning, but descended into arena battles in the late game. I guess, if it was a parody of the American action movies from the 90s, it was successful.2 points

We actually do get that, just not from AAA studios. Really good and reasonably priced games get released all the time, they come from AA and indie studios. I'll list some recent-ish examples: Neon White - $25 Hades - $25 Vampire Survivors - $52 points

Hey @Noqn, Sorry you're running into this blocker issue. I reached out to our team about the issue and they think you should be fixed now. Would you mind trying your post again? If it doesn't work, would you mind taking a screenshot of what you are trying to post? It seems certain things being input have been causing some issues, so we are making sure to allow for that once we know what is triggering the blocker for people. Thanks a ton and sorry again for the trouble with the postings.1 point

In Ashen’s Maw, if you get the support of the rathun to go in the Lair of the Ancient, they’ll give you +2 burn AR.1 point

I'm a millennial and I got 5/25, no bingo. I grew up fairly poor so was late to the dvd and cable party, so I do remember rewinding the tapes rented from blockbuster or hollywood video. I'm not sure when that stopped for me, maybe early to mid 2000s? A very long time ago. You can apply the same to the fast food birthday party or juice from a can as relatively cheap things to do in the late 90's/early aughts. DARE was still a thing in elementary school when I was there but I can't remember if there was a graduation or not. And I did wear band ts and flannel in high school because I could pull it off and they were fairly cheap. Almost claimed *69 but then I realized I misinterpreted it.1 point

No problem. Tagging is a good practice imo. Especially since I usually don't look into this subforum frequently. I didn't mod much myself so I can't say what the problem is. @Elric Galad, @Noqn - any ideas?1 point

This build doesn't work with Abydon's challenge on unfortunately. I just tried it vs Huani O Whe and it appeared pretty invulnerable for a while, steadily chipping down the ooze's health (though with his 16 AR I had to turn on haymaker). My FF cycles were super low at like 2.2s, lower with Crucible of Agony. Tried maxing dex and dropping CON a bit, helped a bit but the problem is if you use shields it doesn't really matter if he underpens or grazes you, every hit is a damage tick and after I got HOW down to about 50% health my shield broke, then I started taking more damage and by this point my armor was damaged, my toon kept grinding it out for a few more minutes before her armor broke and then she was quickly slaughtered. Didn't even have vela with me... I guess with abydon's challenge on you just can't have these grindy kinds of fights unless your deflection is so high you're outright missed most of the time. Still messing around with builds for BPM with magran's fires challenges. No success except with imprinting blood mage, who can avoid these issues by being invisible... Could also just do damage so fast your armor can't break down but HOW has really high deflection and really really high AR except vs elemental attacks, so again kinda just leaves casters. A blood mage / cipher could probably do it, maybe even a plain cipher at least for this particular encounter, stacking accuracy and casting soul ignition over and over. Or you can stay off screen and let summons attack. Exploding phantoms could easily handle this if they had more penetration on explosion effects. Could maybe handle this encounter even with bad penetration since HOW is weak to fire and lightning. But then there's stopping the merges...hmm tricky tricky.1 point

I'd say that ME3 lacked the player's agency regarding the MC (the whole Earth thing - none of the backgrounds would see it as anything more than a prison, but especially the PTSD dreams; I'd be more sympathetic if it was a pyjak the MC accidentally ran over in the first game) and the Cerberus plotline was somehow odd (Kai Leng and the BBG's long monologue at the end; the latter was thematically justifiable but nonetheless irritating). I somehow disliked the insinuation that the uncontrolled military "doing what needs to be done at any cost" is an anyhow good thing, but it might be the logical continuation from the first game and the Spectres. Would prefer to be able to swap Hackett for anything else or at least purposefully disconnect mid-call, though. Structurally and in terms of pacing, ME3 seemed fine, the gameplay had not changed much from ME2, most of the story lines got some conclusion. Some side quests were timed and it was reasonable to complete them (e.g. so the opponents don't gain resources).1 point

Yes, I agree. I think Ghost Heart is neat in special cases, but I generally prefer the normal animal companion. It "stacks" with summons, it cannot suffer injuries so you can revive it infinite times and it's a good bait/decoy right at the start of the battle that doesn't need any action time or resource. I'm just a bit mad still that Ancient's Wild Growth doesn't work with Animal Companions. That would have been so cool...1 point

That's just for American Gen Xers. I have like 3 of those.1 point

Immune to engagement: It means that enemies cannot engage the (Ghost) Boar. The Boar can engage just fine once he gets an engagement slot (with the help of the right abilities - animal companions don't start with an engagement slot).1 point

@BruceVC: As a side note, do you actually read Milton, or did you just pick the quote from somewhere? Either way is fine, of course. Not a lot of people read Milton these days.[*] Milton also had Lucifer say "Better to reign in Hell, than serve in Heaven", which strikes me as the sort of thing that Putin might say the earthly equivalent of, i.e. with the religious references removed. [*] If memory serves, Milton is among the last English-speaking people to use the verb "fugate". It means, "to cause someone to flee", so it could be used in a sentence such as "Singing powerful religious hymns fugates the devil". This Latin-based word has almost completely disappeared from the English language, the only remnant still left is the well-known word "fugitive", someone on the run, someone who flees. All others forms are gone. Also, more unpleasant stuff from Russia:1 point

ME2 was awesome, so that's a positive, ME3 and MEA, not so much. Regardless of what I think of his track record, having a production director leave in the middle of production is never a good thing. It's like switching a director in the middle of filming a movie. Movies where that happens more often than not wind up being a mess.1 point

"Mac Walters, lead writer on Mass Effect 2 and 3 as well as creative director on Mass Effect: Andromeda"... do you *really* want that on your resume (not as bad as having Anthem on it, I know)?1 point

We could tag one of the devs from the community realm who are always happy to help, like for example @Shyla? If that doesn't help then maybe try to hit @jesawyer on Twitter (in a nice way ;)): He's not active here on the forums anymore but he is very active over there. I often see him answering reasonable questions, especially when it's about the Ultimate. But his feed and notifications are quite crowded I guess (he has a lot of followers) so there might be a chance he misses it. The chance could be even higher if you try it on Tumblr, he's anwering there very frequently and posts the answers on Twitter, too - but I have no experience with that platform: https://www.tumblr.com/jesawyer1 point

Getting the Fear Ward takes some levels. Same with Spirit Frenzy. Before those the upsides of a Furyshaper aren't that obvious and you might think "well... why did I take a Furyshaper in rhe first place?" But once all the pieces of the "synergy-puzzle" fall into place I think it is a very rewarding combo. It doesn't take much fiddling to lower enemies' Will and Fortitude completely into the ground and disabling them hard before hitting them - and this is not only making things easy for you but for the whole party, too. Imo if one thinks at some point in the early game "well this doesn't feel spectacular" it just needs a few more levels. The Fear Ward, if used right - like... debuffing Will of enemies beforehand with RES-/INT-afflictions, Willbreaker, clubs, spells (Miasma of Dull-Mindedness from a buddy wizard is your very best fried by the way!) is a devastating tool to have combined with all the other goodies. Once it works you can (if you want to) also build your party a bit around the effects of the main character - like giving a melee damage dealer more engagments to profit more from the terrified enemies breaking engagement, favoring spells that target Will (see several chanter invocations, priests' offensive spells, Cipher stuff etc.) and Fortitude (lots of Wizard and Druid spells) and so on.1 point

Mimimi's project Süßkartoffel has been revealed. Looks very much like their previous titles, though according to earlier interviews and gameplay video it will be more open, than their previous titles:1 point

An ascendent/black jacket would be a great choice for a ranged cipher build. You could switch between Red Hand and Essence Interrupter as you note. These two are among the best weapons for a ranged cipher. But don't forget the other weapons with powerful special abilities that are devastating in the hands of a cipher, since their damage is boosted by soul whip and they build focus for you. These include Kitchen Stove, Amira's Wing, and Dragon's Dowry. It's great to be able to switch quickly between these weapons.1 point

Buddy Daddies 1-3 Don’t mention this in Crunchyroll's comment section, but this is basically Spy x Family with two dads and they are both assassins. The main difference so far is that there is no main plot and the parenting problems are more realistic. Also, the child is not a telepath, but she makes Anya look like a saint in comparison. Kazuki and Rei are roommates and hitmen that end up with a child, Miri, after killing her father and finding out her mother doesn’t want anything to do with her. Because of their past, it doesn't take long until they accept the girl and become her fathers, despite having no idea of what they are doing. They even take her to one of her jobs. She was supposed to stay in the van, but she had to pee… and then she ended up entering the target’s house and completely ruining the job. Overall, I still prefer Spy x Family, but this one is pretty funny too.0 points
