Temple of Doom was the movie with the least nazis in it, right? I liked the movie with the most nazis in it. /Edit: And the one thing I liked even more than the movies was The Fate of Atlantis. Man I really should replay that game.3 points

Narutaru 12-13 Now I need to watch something happy. I think I’ll go back to Violet Evergarden and Madoka Dolls. Wow. Things just kept getting worse. But I confess I’m curious about how the story goes after this. There is definitely more than enough character development. So JoJo is back? Right on time. And Isekai Uncle is back too, at least in Japan.2 points

Temple of Doom is the best one because Willie and Shorty are silly and fun characters that play well with and off of Indiana. All other considerations are secondary for me. Now I could see liking Last Crusade more, as it's really the better quality film on the whole, the tone is more serious and it's a little more grounded, it's a lot less racist and sexist than Temple of Doom...and the rest of the cast isn't bad by any means - in fact, it's a pretty good cast. So that at least makes sense to me if one prefers Last Crusade, I can absolutely accept that. But Raiders? Yeah, I just don't know, Raiders is pretty stilted in terms of writing and performances compared to the other two, Miriam stinks, and just...yeah, I mean, it was the first one and maybe the varied globe-trotting setting and initial establishment of Indiana Jones is more your thing, so eh, maybe... Now it's a good thing nobody brought up Crystal Skull, because boy, I would really have some choice words for anyone that might suggest Crystal Skull could ever possibly be even remotely better or even just more enjoyable than any of the first three...2 points

I have a baffling love for Temple of Doom. If I look at the movies objectively and remove my own feelings from the equation, both Raiders and Last Crusade are better movies. However, if I was on a 2 1/2 hour flight and was given the choice to watch any Indiana Jones movie, I would pick Temple of Doom without a second thought. I really enjoy that movie. I am forever confused by the hate Kate Capshaw got for the Willie Scott character. People kept telling me that she was annoying and I thoroughly liked Willie. There is no debate to be had about Short Round. Short Round is the best and that is a factual and objective statement. Period. Full stop. I like the monkey brains scene, I liked it then and I still like it now. If that makes me a terrible racist and literally Hitler then so be it. I can get cancelled or whatever. I love the mine cart chase, it's freakin' awesome. I think the Kali Ma, Shakti De scene is the most iconic scene in the series. Yes, more iconic than the Raiders face melt. Sure, Temple of Doom has some really stupid stuff, but nothing even remotely as stupid as Indy surviving a nuclear blast in a refrigerator or Shia Labeouf swinging with monkeys.2 points

Finished with the main campaign of Solasta -- immediately bought the "Lost Valley" campaign DLC. It seems good for another ~30 hours or so of Solasta which is fine with me. Getting into that D&Dish vibe whilst playing, I went through the catalogue of D&D games released so far. Solasta was influenced by SSI's Gold Box games anyway. But one thing I wish was still arround was the kind of thing the Ravenloft games were going for. Hadn't actually played them -- still remember reading a Stone Prophet review in PC gaming mag over and over. But gothic/horror proved to be a decent fit in the Evira games already (though they're arguably more adventure games than RPG). Maybe I'm going to pick them up. All the D&D classics were released on Steam a while ago anyway. Plus they've even seen a QOL update recently.2 points

i usually end up just spam resting in Cuitzli's exotic herbs shop (every 26 hours triggers a vendor refresh). I think antlers are a "Rare" ingredient, so it doesn't have a high chance of spawning, and if it does like maybe 1 pops up.2 points

In a horror movie or game when the army rolls in there's a 99.5% chance that they are bankrolled by <name of evil corporation> and are there to cover up <experiment gone horribly wrong> by killing everything and everyone.2 points

Violet gets to a dark place, but I the ending of the series was rather uplifting in my opinion. Then the movie goes and takes a dump on it. Edit: Wow, Rei not only looks like a psychotic killer in the live action series, she's also channeling her inner Kreia something fierce. She refuses to help Usagi with her school work and chides Makoto for wanting to help her out, giving her the ol' Kreia speech about cheapening the struggle. That's going to be interesting. In the TV adaptation, Minako is already a successful idol, so who knows. I think I read somewhere that TV show Minako has terminal cancer or something, which makes little sense, but hey, one step at a time...1 point

I love that people can play together across consoles, but what we ABSOLUTELY NEED is the option to just pick up a controller and join the game while sitting in the same room with your friends or family. (Couch co-op) I personally spend hours upon hours monopolizing the living room TV, and my kids or my spouse can't play this awesome game with me, unless they go somewhere else and use a different system. I hate that! I understand if split-screen programming is too difficult an issue, but what about a certain centimeter distance limit (invisible tether) between players? The camera could simply zoom partway out, so each player could still see what they need to, but it's not trying to track and load two different scenes constantly.1 point
-
Yeah those games likely don't play very nice anymore, interface and controls included. What I'm missing is that they're offering scenarios that have since almost completely disappeared from RPGs and crawlers. Makes me sad. And it's kinda puzzling as well -- it's not as if horror-themed settings ever have went out of style elsewhere. There's a few Ravenloft user campaigns for NWN 2 though.1 point

Okie dokie, so I've cleared everything in Act 1 but raiding the Gray Garrison. So far selective spell grease is the mvp, selective is so much better than the pnp version I slept on it my first run until mid game. The tavern fight is wonky in TB and needs RT turned on periodically for the arsonists to spawn which is annoying. Also, I found another (Lawful) that wasn't evil or stupid. You can tell Staunton it's not right for the crusaders to bully him. However, there is another (Lawful) option right above that where you tell him he should be killed. Inexplicably fun game.1 point

Hot take: Indy 4 was better than Indy 2 on the whole.1 point
-
In itself, the HotPouch extension in 1.1 can only be welcomed. However, there is one 'but' associated with the mechanism of its implementation (at least on a PC). All 3 sets of hotkeys are switched cyclically by the mouse wheel and the last one remains active. This is extremely inconvenient, because I think not only I still have only one set for quickly switching weapons and using smoothies, bandages, etc. as before. Therefore, before each pressing of the hotkey, it becomes necessary to first make sure that the main set is active, and not additional ones (or an attempt to develop a reflex to switch back to the main set). Ideally, it would be more convenient to switch to additional sets via Alt+ and Ctrl+, or at least implement an automatic return to the main set a few seconds after the last use of the hotkey on additional sets.1 point

Got all achievements in Ender Lilies. The game is mercifully grind-free - the only achievement that required it is leveling to 100, while the game can be finished around lvl 85-90. Fortunately, in NG+ it took about 30 minutes. Though, there are 2 items left to collect, which I am unsure how to reach exactly - there are jumping puzzles. As far as I can see, the rewards are upgrade materials for the spirits. Speaking of NG+, on one hand, all spirits and relics were carried over, on the other everything was almost one-shooting (technically, 3-shooting) me and it's with the damage-reduction relic equipped. So, it still was reasonably challenging. Edit. Collected the upgrade materials. The extra jump/dash spirits and the jump boost relic were required.1 point

Gunbuster, episodes 2 and 3. So as it turns out, mech combat in the middle of empty space is, contrary to what you might expect, kind of confusing and scary. Honestly, space being an incomprehensible nightmare and certainly an affront against all earthly nature (no gravity, no sense of direction, practically empty yet infinite and endless!) is really something that should be focused on more a little more in sci-fi. I don't think I'd be able to handle space, pretty sure the lack of constraints and absolutes would crush my little brain.1 point

Still makes me laugh how they characterized her in season 1 as like the epitome of responsibility and leadership...and then just rapidly transformed her into her off-the-walls wacky Sailor V self for season 2 and I somehow didn't notice the change. Wonder what version the TV adaptation gets. Psycho killer Rei is the best version of Rei, though...and it's definitely not my inexplicable fondness for insane female characters in fiction speaking here.1 point

Let me know if I should spoiler tag this stuff, but I don't see the reason. Nobody else is watching and it is Sailor Moon, where spoilers don't matter all too much. Or, like, at all. Usagi thinks that Talks-With-Turtles is Tuxedo Mask, and she's nice to him and his turtle, so he invites her along to an amusement park. Usagi comes with Makoto and Rei, while Motoki brings the real Tuxedo Mask and some poor devil who ends up stuck with Rei who is so scared of her he just gets hiccups all the time. He says that always happens when he's close to girls, but no, I'm pretty sure he's just scared of her. Who wouldn't be. This Rei looks like a psycho killer on a good day, much less on one where she gets duped into a triple date with Usagi without even knowing beforehand. They're also renting row boats and while Hiccups and Talks-With-Turtles are trying their best to row, Makoto is just blazing past them. Mamoru is rightly impressed and asks if he should help, and she's like, yeah no, I got this. Yeah, that elicited laughter. Talks-With-Turtles sees turtles and is happy, Usagi is confused why Talks-With-Turtles isn't as exciting as Tuxedo Mask and generally, this is a pretty good episode. The four get lost in a house of mirrors (that is mostly plastic because they could not afford mirrors) and trade places, and the set up is really cheesy and reminds me an awful lot of Seiya and Usagi in Stars... although there it was not a house of mirrors but a haunted hourse, of course. Anyway, #teamseiya now and forevermore. Rei sees a Youma and runs off, and of course she does, because otherwise this would not be Sailor Moon. Poor hiccups blames himself. Poor guy. He gets possesed by the Youma and drains Rei's energy, which makes his turtle rise. I mean, the turtle backpack he's carrying, because Hiccups is a turtle lover too. I... wow. This is the worst joke in the history of all things Sailor Moon (Episode 7, at 16:40, if anyone wants to check, or maybe make a gif out of it...). Usagi transforms in the house of mirrors because she thinks Mamoru can't see her transform, Makoto and Usagi pummel the Youma, Jadeite tries to fight them but Tuxedo Mask shows up. Usagi tells the girls she thought Motoki is Tuxedo Mask, Rei is really, really annoyed about being dragged into something this stupid because of Usagi's emotions, and Makoto defends Usagi, and the next episode is apparently about Makoto and Rei fighting, which in this context makes a whole lot more sense than Makoto and Minako going at each other in SuperS. Minako was in the episode for two scenes and she's really weird. I, uh, might not be entirely objective, but Makoto's actress kills the role. Usagi has the unenviable task of trying to be Usagi, which on and off works, Rei is... more manga Rei than anime Rei and Ami wasn't even in the episode because, uh, a second extra would have cost money?1 point

Bad move by the protagonist. If you have a gun with only 1 bullet in a horror scenario, you save the 1 bullet to off yourself when you're about to get eaten by monsters.1 point

Absolutely loving the game, great work. However, hear are a few things I'd love to see improved. 1. Garden - Let us harvest ALL garden items from the interaction menu. When we are forced to chop them and they land on the garden it can be very frustrating picking them up. The pointer is very small and any mis click brings up the garden menu. 2. Bleeps - Stop censoring words that are in the game. Obsidian chose to have a Spicy ingredient yet Spicy is to delicate for us to type. You have the character Max repeatably say Damn, but labeling a chest spicy is to much. 3. Mass Loot - some way to loot an area faster. Either hold the interact and then auto loot, loot everything as we move the curser, a separate auto loot. As it stands now, if there are a lot of tiny items (10 ropes for example) it can be difficult to get the pointer just right over and over. Having a togglable auto loot would also solve the Garden issues. 4. tuft - give a separate slot for the Dandelion Tuft from the trinkets. 5. Raids needs work - Either narrow the raid area centered around a workbench, or put markers above all raid bugs. If we build large sprawling bases (building is fun) it can get impossible to even find all the raiders. Also, if we successfully defend there needs to be some reward. (maybe the last bug drops a trophy or something some small but fun reward. 6. Blueprints and building. If we are close enough to place a blueprint we should be close enough to actually build the item. 7. A sign item that we can use to label and leave messages for our shared save co-players.1 point

necro-ing this thread because my lifegiver druid is finally high enough level where i'm playing around with this. i think what's neat about this avenging storm<->effort is that it runs on a spectrum. there's definitely an extreme where you have enough accuracy and/or hit-to-crit where you wipe out entire fights, but if you're not building a super min-maxed character it feels quite "fair", you don't get endless sequences of bolts, but you do get a handful of bolts sometimes as a nice reward. i also thought it'd be really important to have something like druid aoe ticks or monk multi-attack synergies, but on the less "cheesy" end of the spectrum, just auto-attacking with effort and storm can get you some bonus bolts. in this respect i feel like this is like salvation of time or combusting wounds - almost a no-op if you're not built for it, pretty good if you know how to play with it, and utterly busted if you so choose. (incidentally i found that wondrous torment plus a flail means that even a tough bullet-sponge can get bolted to smithereens from like an auto-attack proc)1 point

Chocolate chip cookies. So a couple of things, between the brown butter and cane sugar instead of white sugar, these things are much darker than normal. Secondly I used too much chocolate chunks and the structural integrity of some cookies was compromised. That said, they are some damn good cookies. The brown butter makes a world of difference while the hint of bourbon and cinnamon works with that toffee-like flavor to round them out.1 point

Is it just my anime-broken imagination, or was Queen Beryl really close to a wardrobe malfunction in this shot? Edit: Usagi's brother is spying on her while she's studying, then goes back to mom and they're both surprised Usagi is hard at work. Shingo mentions that people can go crazy from pushing themselves to hard, and her mother goes to check up on her. She enters the room and sees Usagi in a... Unicorn costume (she wants to go to a Minako hosted costume contest) making weird sounds in front of the mirror. There's something charming about these totally obvious setups. They should not be hilarious, but somehow they just are. PIKA? Well, she's more like KUPII! KUPII!0 points

I liked StarCraft because it was a nice blend of likeable and interesting characters, had a decent sci-fi story, nice background lore and a fun campaign. StarCraft II came out and assassinated the characters within the first two seconds of the very first cutscene and then proceeded to took a giant dump on the world building and established lore in that afterthought of a campaign that was flashy style over substance coupled to a game designed solely to appeal to RTS e-sports players - and that is without even considering the audacity to sell content worth one game in three separate installments to rake in some more cash. As much as I sometimes complain about Mass Effect 3's ending, for me, SC2 ranks very high amongst the biggest disappointments in gaming. WoW's Cataclysm just sealed the deal in the same year.0 points
