Maybe not no one, but def. not many. Monk subclasses offer substancial upsides while the downsides can be avoided/worked with. Shattered Pillar is cool for a party imo but not too great solo, especially against single tough foes (see Dragons, Megabosses etc.). It is easier to combine healing + wound generation from getting damaged, getting missed (Imagined Pain) using Enduring Dance (while using Dichotomous Soul to take most of the enemies' hits) or hostile effect expirtion (Forbidden Fist) than dealing enough damage against those foes in order to keep the wounds flowing. It's certainly doable, but in my experience a Shattered Pillar is nicer to play if he can focus on damage-dealing in a party while others tank the enemies. Forbidden Fist, Nalpasca and Helwalker are all well suited for solo. Nalpasca is nice because it has great wound generation even without being hit - but you have to watch out for enemies' Arcane Dampener: it also stops the effect of drugs and sends you into a crash (which is bad). There's enough drugs in the game so you don't need to be super economical, also a single drug will usually last for a whole fight (unless Arcane Dampener hits you). Helwalker is also nice. Not because the higher MIG will give you more damage and healing power (also good, but not superimportant when going solo) but because +10 all-stackable MIG means +20 fortitude. It's very nice to have +20 fortitude in a solo game. Most late-ish game afflictions that can disable you (=doom) will target your fortitude defense. A Helwalker with 10 wounds and Duality of Mortal Presence:CON will gain +40 to fortitude (and of course more health, damage and healing) which can be very useful. Forbidden Fist wants as high Resolve as possible in order to keep all the hostile effects on him super short. He feeds off their expiration so the shorter the better. He doesn't want resistances or immunies (messes with his wound generation). This mechanic pairs well with a solo game - because RES also raises deflection. Thus, a Forbidden Fist naturally tends to be more tanky than the usual monk - you can push that further with a shield + dagger (+modal) setup. For example Tuotilo's Palm allows you to gain extra deflection & reflex based on wounds (interesting for any monk subclass really) while also allowing to use the dual wieldig bonus and two-weapon style. The dagger will raise deflection even further. The Forbidden Fist attack ignores the main weapon and is a primary attack only, meaning yout will not attack with the shield bash either but still retain the fast recovery of your dual weapon setup. The Forbidden Fist attack is pretty strong and useful (enfeebling the enemies means no healing for them for example) and it will put a hostile effect aka "curse" on you (which is very short if you have maxed RES and use some fitting items - such as the "Ring of the Solitary Wanderer" which is perfect for a solo Forbidden Fist) which will give you a wound and healing when the curse expires. It helps to not have too high INT so the curse is even shorter (higher INT = longer curse). Because of all this, a Forbidden Fist usually is quite the defensive character - but at the same time pretty great at offense, too. It is only more difficult to grasp mechanically which repels most unexperienced players (unexperienced with the Forbidden Fist at least). I think most of the more experienced players here would prefer a Forbidden Fist. Its special features are a bit like the devs made this subclass for solo runs. Don't think that's the intention but it feels like it. Stats for a solo Forbidden Fist (rough suggestion, detailed values and a few points here an there don't mean much): MIG: o CON: o / - PER: ++ DEX: ++ INT: o / - RES: +++ You could dump CON and use mediocre INT and later pick Tough and Iron Wheel instead of Turning Wheel in order to boost CON and health. Or you can use mediocre CON and low INT and later pick Turning Wheel to keep INT somewhat mediocre. If you like higher MIG or max PER and/or DEX you can do that, too. A little variation to your liking and enjoyment is more important than some blueprint stats. Little changes are not super impactful. Race doesn't matter too much, but Nature Godlike isn't bad because Wellspring of Life can help you with the Power Level scaling of the Forbidden Fist attack (pushing it over the edge of the next quality tier) and other stuff - and it's on a lot because of Swift Strikes (or upgrades) as you already said - and/or Thunderous Blows. I would avoid a race with natural resistances (Coastal Aumaua, Wild Orlan, Mountain Dwarf, Wood Elf...). Unfortunately a downgraded affliction (via Resistance) causes problems with the wound generation of the Forbidden Fist. Human is good, too. The added ACC can help if things get dire. For other subclasses these stats might look different. For example usually Monks like high INT, combined with Turning Wheel for even more INT.3 points

kinda little disagree, IMHO monk solo is about getting lv19 and "constant" WotW and for that You need wound generation, for that (if you dont wan't abuse Eders armor) helwalker or FF is better than plain monk and as for helwaker if I remember correctly I needed 22 might outside combat to have 2 WotW in a row (to take command of battlefield with Ajamuut cloak), it was all about having enough +dmg taken (from might & hel subclass, around +60%) to push DoT from Hylea talons past 8 dmg (+1 wound) on first tick, and there are other tricks like doing WotW from engagement (with parting sorrow) for discount etc, plus having 2-3 concetration points is a must have on harder fights that starts "independent"(ambush on bridge in BoW) so You will not get interrupted2 points

Phys to Phys/Elem -> -1 PEN (Sword gets -1 PEN for going to dual type compared to other 1 hander - that also gets an additional bonus such as spear +5 Acc) Phys/Elem to Elem -> +2 PEN I consider both as "slightly generous". My opinions on the whole topic in a nutshell : 1) CP current "Weapon KW" solution is a bit convoluted for my tastes so I won't go for it. 2) You won't solve the weird "creature being immune to physical attack because of KW" stuff just by fixing elemental KW. Toxic Strike has Poison KW which cause foes to be immune to PHYSICAL attacks. It makes no sense but hey it's there. 3) Weapon swapping is part of the game. If a foe is immune to a particular weapon, it's not the end of the world (crushing the wheel might be, hear that, Eothas !). 4) Having a weapon with an elemental KW but no elemental damages associated (at least partially) is weird. 5) To be the closest from the original, I'll keep the KW on the weapon that already have it. Hence, I'll go with either : A) All Weapons with KW dealing only KW type of damages. (no immunity weirdness in this case) B) All Weapons with KW dealing either only KW type of damages OR dual type including elemental (closest from the original). KW will be maintainted. Immunity stuff won't be fixed but due to 2) and 3) I admit I don't personnaly care. Also you have to consider that some Spells (at least Sunlance) already works as B. Removing also KW from spells is something I won't feel ideal (druid doesn't have tons of Fire based spells already...) I think A & B would fit with Sun&Moon. I'd personnaly go with B as dual type of damages are fun. If you find a technical solution for B (removing immunity from monsters + adding CC KW immunity), then bingo ! Blackbow could be changed to dual type without PEN change. It has the PEN of a Warbow, and Warbows have dual damages type. I wondered a bit about it in the past. Sorry for the delay answering, but I was coming back from holidays and I had a lot of personal stuff to do.2 points

Yes, the articles are usually badly written. You just instantly know that it wasn't made by people who actually studied the language or writing in general. Of course the target audience would never notice... I'm pretty sure this is also the reason for some of the weird text style choices. Whoever writes that stuff simply doesn't know better and does whatever s/he thinks looks good.2 points

SpyxFamily, episodes 10-12 (i.e. Operations Dodgeball, Drowning, and Family Bonding). It was a pretty silly but fairly enjoyable show with mostly nice character stuff (...well, besides that one episode). This joins Vampire in the Garden as the only "modern" anime shows that I've finished (though there'll be more SpyxFamily in the future, but completing its first season is still pretty noteworthy). Coincidentally (or perhaps not?), they're both by the same company, Wit Studio. (e): I forgot about Girls' Last Tour, which I guess also counts since I sort of liked it, but you get the idea.2 points

German wikipedia says zero hedge is an alt-right and libertarian website. Also the news are economically pessimistic especially against wall street, it's conspirative, and anti-establishment. Bloomberg describes it as "extreme" and "pro-russian", also they often present pro-Trump talking points, while continuously presenting the united states as declining. Heh, they were even banned from Twitter in 2020. So yeah, going by that ... Not sure how much merit those articles have. /Edit: lol, back when the BLM stuff was going on, they were posting articles about the CIA and George Soros being behind the movement. Other than that, what's also funny to me is how they mark certain parts of sentences in bold, to make them stick out. I remember we did the same in my first job back in the days, because stupid people wouldn't read a whole article, you had to point out the "facts" to them like that. To me, those style elements feel highly unprofessional.2 points

oop also small consideration - even on PotD the spiritshift forms can be pretty tanky, and I think bear form plus the defensive paladin aura should give you some pretty decent hardiness; you end up with AR equivalent to heavy armor (with no weaknesses), automatically enchanted to a reasonable level, plus an additional +2 AR1 point

i haven't explored this combo before, and you probably have already considered it, but loading up on the wildstrike and spamming flames of devotion seems like a decent melee-ing option. As a plus, upgrading flames of devotion to add a damage lash would be useful for switching out of a form and blasting enemies with a few spells as needed. (if you use spells like wicked briars and venombloom you probably could open with them and then when you get the flames of devotion lash later the damage should dynamically update) boar is going to be your premier melee-dps-er because of the stacking DoT, and the lash from flames of devotion plus the bonus damage from the mark should really skyrocket its effectiveness.1 point

the best/worst method for gauging the relative strength o' mage generals is to fight the demon army near greengates in act iii, the one with the glabrezu general. make certain to save before you engage the enemy, 'cause is likely you decide to come back at a later time to deal with that obstacle. Not really, Scorching Ray you can cast every turn as long as you have energy. Another thing that makes little sense at a first glance, in the battles, try to spread your damage around. Damaged units deal less damage, and as such, for instance, having three at full power and one dead means you take more damage than facing all four at reduced strength. The exception is of course units that do something really dangerous or are powerful enough to one-shot yours. You can heal up your armies as long as at least one of them survives - and you have a healing ability.1 point

Thanks for the help. Unfortunately, I already had a Ranger general with a few levels by the time you mentioned the advantage of the Mage general a few pages back. I did notice the importance of Master of Maneuver right away and got two levels still in act II. The last time I leveled my general, I got the option to get Scorching Ray but I already had a similar fire spell (Burning Liquid) that causes the same damage. The only difference was that the spell I got was considered a "Siege Ability". Not sure if they are equivalent. I visited the suspicious Kobold as you suggested and got some pretty interesting letters. Now, where is Hulrun when you need him? Yes, I know it is a Crusader Project and I already started it, but I wish I could give them to the Inquisitor.1 point

the axe we mentioned earlier in this thread, but we identified it 'cause @Gorthwere considering a switch to great axe. grave singer, with the 18-20 crit range, comes in three flavours: hand axe (small,) battle axe (medium,) and great axe (large.) there is a small annoyance factor related to the other benefit o' grave singer. once per encounter, grave singer will automatically free the wielder from movement impairing effects, including (but not limited to) such stuff as paralysis, petrification and stun. the cost for such freedom is the weapon wielder takes gave singer's damage, but not with all kinda enhancements. am not 100% certain what were the calculation, but our dual wielding aeon using the hand axe would ordinarily get hit for +40 damage. the thing is, even if you are immune or inoculated as it were to whatever is the movement impairing effect targeting grave singer's wielder, you nevertheless take the weapon damage hit. but yeah, the 18-20 crit range is a massive benefit and is why so many munchkin dual wielders is choosing kukris or scimitars as their weapons o' choice. is two hand axes in the game which provide 18-20, although one is available only very late in the game. we thought it would be fun to do not kukri. also, is a novel series from the 80s called the pelbar cycle, which nobody has ever hear o' but we enjoyed much. have frequent played a shumai axeman character in crpgs and 'course absolute nobody knows what am referencing. amusing, greybor's hand axe, crushing cold, were a nice option for much o' the game, but we had to be concerned with friendly fire. am not certain if has been fixed, but the cone o' cold effect o' the hand axe were not as per an 11th level wizard as described, but rather based on the wielder's level, so we got up to the full 15d6 benefits/pain when triggered. HA! Good Fun!1 point

Scimitars and Falchions already exist for that, the main draw for Fauchards is the crit range with reach which I don't think any other weapon has. Your broader point is correct though, do not sleep on unique or powerful effects because of a lower enhancement bonus. The corollary I'd add is that weapons with a save effect are much less useful than they appear and should be judged as subpar, especially on higher difficulties.1 point
-
Minor tip, because it is not that intuitive either: Don't dismiss weapons with good secondary effects just because they have a low enhancement bonus. There's a dagger +2 that gives two extra attacks on a full round attack, there's a +2 club that prevents you from becoming flat footed, and a +2 battle axe with a crit range of 18-20. You can buff the enhancement bonus of weapons, and bypassing DR isn't an issue beyond the very early game either, but you cannot teach a generic +5 weapon any new tricks. A dagger with an additional attack is quite painful when playing a character having Sneak Attacks and/or Elemental Barrage, and that axe? That axe removes the requirement to take Exotic Weapon Proficiency: Fauchards if the primary thing you're going for is their increase crit range. Which it usually is. Plus it comes much earlier than the go-to Fauchard, which is available in Act IV, and has a higher critical hit multiplier.1 point

am ordinary opposed to what we see as unnecessary remakes o' already excellent films. however, all's quiet is not only an excellent film, but am thinking it is an important one, and if remaking every couple o' decades results in more people seeing at least one version o' the story, and perhaps even multiple versions, am gonna consider such an outcome to be a kinda victory. given the recent reemergence o' angry and violent nationalism in democracies 'cross the globe, is clear that all's quiet is as relevant today as it were in the 1930s. we hope the new version speaks to audiences. 'course the nazis loathed the original, leading to bans in germany as well as brownshirt attacks on audiences before the bans were effective, which if nothing else should convince modern viewers the original were a film worth seeing. It's the only thing of Waititi's that I've watched. It's quite rare that I enjoy films (or shows) that fall under the "comedy" genre, and it's almost always the result of the film in question not really strictly being a comedy and making some actual attempt of being a meaningful movie via its characters and themes, which I felt Jojo Rabbit accomplished quite well even with its rocky first 20-30 minutes: the film took a definite turn for the better in my eyes once the third main character was introduced.1 point

In the meanwhile, while Russia sent their best Spetznas and VDV to western Kherson Oblast, UA army started another offensive in Kharkhiv Oblast and in little bit more than 24 hours, they moved more than 20km deep into Russian occupied territories and removed Russian soldiers with heavy losses from 7 settlements between Balaklia and Shevchenkove, probably trying to completely cut-off Izyum from all Russian GLOCs… The push still continues, with first reports, that they moved 5 kms further to the northwest, and are approx. 10kms away from Shevchenkove. EDIT: more liberated towns in Northern Kherson Oblast officially reported today as well.1 point

I still have a long way to go before I get to chapter 5. I'm only at the very beginning at chapter 3, haven't even left Drezen with my party yet, trying to figure out what the 3 councils do (the logistics council, the diplomatic council and the secret council... with their door inside the closet in my bed room. I wondered why they didn't just place the entrance in a rabbit hole under my bed Most of the writing I would call "Ok". Doesn't win any prizes, but is also not cringe worthy and I do more often than not actually read the books and notes I find (I suspect I'm so going to skip that part in my next game, but I do find them interesting enough to give at least one read). I do appreciate the odd humour in some of the writing. As for character writing... I'm no expert and I only just found the last two party members (there may be more, but the fallen succubus and Greybor the dwarven assassin were the last additions). Of the ones I spent time with, most are again Ok. Nothing that makes me think it's bad. Video game characters are a bit tricky to give personality I've understood. Daeran is Norman Bates (in that his mother was important to him, not necessarily cruel to him) and Camellia (the girl with the masked alignment) grew up in a fancy home and her own children's room was full of blood stains and torture implements, so I suspect she has some exotic hobbies, hence the "unimportant" amulet that masks her true alignment (I'm guessing something like chaotic evil with a penchant for tearing off the wings of fairies). For me, the two interesting ones so far were Regill as the over the top practical incarnation from PS:T and Ember, because she reminds (unfortunately) of a girl I knew in real life many years ago (she wasn't burned at the stake by a mob, but she got raped repeatedly by her father growing up, which leaves a similar kind of scars on the soul and her attitude is the spitting image of said girl, a very uncanny kind of recognition)1 point

My isssue with ZH is how its consistently wrong with its predictions, they predicted oil price would get to $140 and how the US and EU economies would have collapsed by now And all they do is look at known issues, like the energy price and global inflation, and use that to justify there own ideological views and biases So for example when the oil price was rising in the beginning of Putins War this was proof of Western economic incompetence and hegemony and the " West is about to collapse", now thats not a crisis its the gas prices and its overall impact on the EU economy And when thats resolved they will wait for something else and hopefully something serious so they can say " the West is about to collapse due to xxx "1 point

creating overpowered weapons and gear. ... am not kidding. is possible that the main purpose o' diplomacy in wotr = weapon manufacture is some kinda too-subtle-for-Gromnir russian joke we ain't getting, but there you go. diplomacy crusade relic restoration events will include the following SPOILER list we did not check for accuracy: is a large number o' possibilities, and is ez to miss a few game-changers. if @InsaneCommander and @Gorthis interested in Gromnir's opinion as to what is a few o' the most silly overpowered items, we will highlight a few. if you would rather go with rule o' kewl, free o' taint o' some self appointed know-it-all and his thumbs up v. down or scale-from-one-to-ten silliness, that works too. regardless, and unless has changed recent, it will not be difficult to max your diplomacy crusade stat quicker than any o' the others. again, am not sure if such a clear difference 'tween diplomacy and the other stats is one o' those russian jokes Gromnir is incapable o' groking. Mortal Shell. It is an indie Souls-like. After Nioh, it feels incredibly slow and repetitive - there are very few types of enemies with extremely high density of them. Considering that there is not much customisation for the "shells" (playable characters), mowing through them seems pointless. The 3 bosses I've defeated (two of them were mini-bosses, one protecting a shell, another a weapon) were rather straight-forward - find one punishable attack and exploit it. The Hardening system (the MC turns to stone and becomes immune to damage) is an interesting and unique feature, though takes time to get used to. The locations seem to change after the corresponding boss has been defeated, granted I was just running through the one without much exploration, but I think the mobs were different on the way to the boss. I still have a very vague idea about the story, but a not-Firekeeper allows to level up and a giant chained bird-man asked to bring him glands. The MC is a spirit who is able to possess corpses, the titular shells. They have set HP and stamina, but the abilities are unique for each shell and require unlocking them. Also been playing Paradise Killer. It is a first-person adventure game with very few puzzles and a lot of dialogues. The story follows a detective who has been returned from her exile to investigate a mass murder. So far so good. Some mechanics are not obvious, but the game is delightful.1 point
