Yeah, that's a pretty good trailer. You'd be forgiven for thinking the series was Moiraine centric from it, but apart from Rosamund Pike being a selling point you also can't do 'thought exposition' in a TV series effectively, so you need to do a lot more showing of the world building. The ajah colours are too obvious, but meh. You could have them wearing shawls as identifiers instead (and to be constantly adjusting when not tugging braids/ sniffing/ smoothing skirts/ crossing arms) but if you're going to do that then might as well just dress them in the colours. Same as having Moiraine more dominant, you can't rely on character thoughts to remind people of ajahs and the like so you need more visual cues. Liked the myrdraal, in that case a certain amount of uncanny valley is a veritable asset, notable lack of detail on the brief/ action shots of the trollocs though (unless the Leshen looking thing was a trolloc, and that looked more like Herne the Hunter from the old Robin Hood TV series than I imagined a trolloc to look). The only real criticism I'd have is a stylistic one in that it looks perhaps a bit too derivative of LOTR. I know that that's a 'problem' with the source material with EotW being explicitly Tolikienesque, but Tar Valon ends up looking like Minas Tirith with a river and the environmental shots... that shot of them in the limestone croppings could have been straight out of FotR. Still, if you're going to be derivative of something being derivative of FotR is a pretty good pick.3 points

Too many external flops, too many dlcs, too many bad and unstable dlcs. I mean how could you approve and see Stalin vs Martians or Ship Simulator Extreme through to the end? Fake edit: whoops I accidentally wrote down the problems with Fred Wester instead. The problems with Ubba L were no doubt completely different, like her having a background in phone apps; as well as overseeing too much dlc, too much bad and unstable dlc, and too many external flops.2 points

https://www.nomanssky.com/frontiers-update/?cli_action=1630685513.384 Settlements are finally a thing in No Man's Sky. I'll give it another go. There is so much I like about the game, but it does feel like it lacks life. Hopefully this will help. They still need a personality system for NPC's I think. Something like the Nemesis system in Middle Earth: Shaodw of War would be interesting. edit: Reading deeper, it does look like they are implementing more personality. They have disputes and thought bubbles.2 points

Back to your favorite stories: Skyrim Tales of Parenting with Melkathi We played hide and seek with Lucia before I headed off to Whiterun and what would turn out to be the siege of Whiterun. When I returned to Solitude, Lucia was gone. Of course my housecarl Jordis had no idea where she was. Or any of the guards (read: I ran all across Solitude where her routine could take her). I talked to Noster Eagle-Eye, who I pay to keep his eye on the girls when they play outside. And I had a stern word with Sofia, after having tried to bribe her with honey nut treats. Lucia had snuck past the guards at the gate, out of Solitude... So I went searching for her (console player.moveto refID). And found her well past Dragonbridge, on the road heading for Whiterun. Seems she got tired waiting for news from the battle and decided to check herself. "But muuuum..." "No. You are heading straight home and straight to bed." There was an Ancient Dragon circling overhead, but even it understood enough to keep well away from angry mum, so it didn't attack. Seriously. I may have to make a mod to ground her.2 points

@Gorth No, the MS sign-in hasn't always been there. I log in every single time, the white bar is very eye-catching and I only noticed it yesterday. Er...or maybe the day or two before....or last month. Um...anyway, it was pretty recent/not always there. @Gfted1 You could try hanging a couple of these or similar wasp traps in the vicinity of the feeder. Maybe they'd go for them instead. I tried one once. They actually work fairly well - at least, there were a lot of dead wasps in them later. @Bartimaeus I have Racing, Fighting, and Massively Multiplayer on my exclusions, too. Most of the rest of mine are Turn Based variations + Platformer. Don't have Sports excluded tho, they rarely recommend those to me and I just ignore the few that pop up. I semi-rely on the fact they're like Amazon/Netflix and will use your Games Library and Watch list categories as references too.2 points

Crazy that No Man's Sky was able to get out of the crap it started in. Usually games with such a release are dead in the water and will never recover.1 point

Funny, but a group of parents in Florida don't exactly represent the entirety of the US. I'm not sure what schools are removing it as 'pro communist' I taught Animal Farm in 7th grade for a couple years back when I was a ELA teacher. I also taught The Giver and a book about a rebellious serf called Crispin. I think I had a bit of a theme.1 point

Hi, I'm pretty sure that you have the wrong Obsidian. This is the game developer website. What you are referring to is the knowledge base software developer. You are more likely to find answers for your questions in their forum: https://forum.obsidian.md/1 point

By the way, I can't believe I slept (as Boeroer would say) on solo Assassin/Shifter for so long. There is so much potential and it is so much fun to play! I cleared everything in Maje Island almost entirely by using Stealth > Insect Swarm > Smoke Veil > Touch of Rot > Flee and Smoke Veil. Once the weak have been culled by the AoE DoT-fest, shift to Boar form to get all those nasty Wildstrike Attack DoTs stack on the few survivors. Feels also very thematically nice with the Shadow Druid vibe. Prowling in the dark alone, casting forbidden plague/decay incantations then shifting to a bloodthirsty beast. When I think that you can add to this routine things like Plague of Insect, Pernicious Cloud, Infestation of Maggots, Sunlance single target sniping... can't wait! EDIT: it also made me fully aware of how insanely powerful Touch of Rot is for a PL1 spell! Right from the start, you can get the burst + DoT up to a total potential of 200+ DMG per target on a crit. In AoE. For a PL1 spell. And it scales amazingly with PL, INT and MIG to easily get to twice this potential later on. With the Assassin +25ACC, +4 PEN and +50% Crit DMG on the initial attack, this is just too good (when it lands).1 point

If you want to make Edér a SC Fighter I would suggest picking up Clear the Path instead of Clean Sweep later on - because (Edér's lowish) INT has no effect on the AoE size of Clear the Path. Clear the Path is very good imo. Especially when used with a Morning Star + Body Blows. It targets Fortitude so the Morning Star will apply -25 fortitude to all in the AoE which makes it a lot easier for follow-ups with additional Clear the Path uses (or Mule Kicks). And alternative can be a mace + modal - for example bind Magistrate's Cudgel to Edér. You can lower enemies' AR in the AoE and also with the cudgel you will instakill all lower-level kith on the spot with every crit-roll in the AoE. The AoE of Clear the Path is pretty broad and also very long. I used to have a party with SC Barb Serafen and SC Fighter Edér. In the later game Serafen with Driving Roar and Edér with Clear the Path were like two cannons. Most enemies never got back up once they both started "firing".1 point

If it works like pnp it should. If that's the case an Elemental Sorc just got a lot more appealing, IIRC that Arcana isn't implemented in Kingmaker. Edit: I'd have to rule dive, but per pnp it should affect energy damage. This obviously means Elemental damage, but could exclude alignment damage (like holy, unholy), force, or negative/positive. I don't think it should though.1 point

Then definitely avoid the spoilers. But if you are like me and have trouble remembering some Japanese names, then you are safer. lol Episodes 1-11 set up the story. Don't give up if you for some reason don't like them that much. And yes, the plot can be convoluted, I'm kind of lost about some things. Still easy to understand what is going on though. Edit: And you will definitely love Mayuri. She is one of the nicest people I ever saw in an anime.1 point

Well I think you have sold another copy, I'll have to think hard about it, because as I said, my backlog grows day by day (I have the feeling it grows exponentially ) I still have few hours of the sale to buy it now, or wait until more suitable time But, being a Slav myself, I will have to buy it sooner or later1 point

Not going to lie, I've felt a yearning to re-watch season 1...but for the time being, I must press forward with NEW things, so the backlog doesn't exponentially grow! ...The least I can do is finish the rest of Sakura first, . Ah, location scouting... Someone should've gone to animation school instead of film school, methinks, . Thankfully, a quick reverse image search reveals better versions of that Minako poster. And hey, speaking of older animation being better animation... Vampire Hunter D (1985).1 point

25 years ago on the 18th of August, a jury in New Mexico announced its verdict in one of the most infamous and misunderstood cases in recent memory: Liebeck v. McDonald's, also known as the "hot coffee lawsuit." This case is held up as one of most egregious examples of frivolous lawsuits. The story goes that a woman bought coffee from McDonald's, drove with it between her legs, spilled it on herself, sued McDonald's because it was hot, and took a cool $1 to $5 million (depending on who's telling the story) off of them. "Wait, she sued because coffee was hot? And she was driving with it between her legs? What did she expect? Anyone can sue for anything these days." Guess what? That story is almost completely false. I mean, Stella Liebeck did have hot coffee spill on her. That part is true. But here's what's not. Liebeck wasn't driving. The 79 year old was in the passenger seat of her grandson's car. He pulled into a parking spot, where she was trying to add cream and sugar to her coffee. The car didn't have cupholders, so she put it between her legs, and when she pulled the lid off, it spilled all over her. The spilled coffee wasn't just unpleasant; it was served at nearly 190 degrees, which caused 3rd degree burns over 6% of her body, required multiple skin grafts, necessitated further care after she left the hospital, and left her permanently disfigured. She originally tried to settle with McDonald's and asked for $20,000; they responded with an offer of $800. At that point, she hired an attorney who discovered that 1) McDonald's required franchisees to serve coffee between 180-190 degrees 2) no other coffee in the city was served at more than 160 degrees 3) 190 degree liquid causes third degree burns in less than 3 seconds and would burn the mouth if consumed at that temperature 4) 160 degree liquid takes over 20 seconds to cause third degree burns and 5) McDonald's had been sued over SEVEN HUNDRED times in the prior decade for coffee being too hot and had settled up to $500,000 in cases and been told to lower the temperature. Ultimately, McDonald's refused an arbitrator's suggestion of a $225,000 settlement and the case went to trial, where a jury ultimately awarded Liebeck $200,000 in compensatory damages, and $2.7 million in punitive damages. "A ha!," you sa, "so she still got millions! That's still frivolous!" Well...no. First, the jury found Liebeck was 20% at fault, so the compensatory damages were reduced by that amount, to $160,000. Then the judge reduced the punitive damages to three times the compensatory, or $480,000, for a total of $640,000. We don't know how much Liebeck got because they eventually settled for less than $600,000, but between medical expenses and legal fees, it's a FAR cry from the millions she got for a slightly warmed leg in the well-known story. So how did this become so legendary? Simple. McDonald's knew the case was going poorly, so it looked to the one thing it had that Liebeck didn't: a bully pulpit. They started a massive PR effort that was basically a smear campaign, painting Liebeck as some irresponsible scofflaw trying to take their hard-earned money. And it worked, to the point that the annual "awards" for frivolous lawsuits are known as "The Stellas." As for Liebeck? The then 81 year old didn't have the money, platform, or desire to fight back, and used the money to pay for a live-in nurse. She watched company after company use her case as an excuse for tort reform, to stop the big bad consumers from hurting the poor, poor multinational billion dollar corporations, before passing in 2004 at age 91.1 point

They have a new developer working on the game, and they also did a new (free) tourism update a few months ago. (I've only played Surviving Mars with the existing dlc, but it must have been the biggest drag of a game in the the mid -> late game without Green Planet, and it will still benefit a lot from some more fleshing out)1 point
