  1. I like how you guys talk about your backlog as if it is a number that can potentially go down. We all know that it only increases every year.

  3. To paraphrase the great philosopher Mick Dundee: That's not a conspiracy theory, this is a conspiracy theory... Everyone knows there are shortages of gpus and cpus. The reason for that is not Intel and to a lesser extent Samsung crapping the bed or high demand for hardware due to everyone staying at home because of covid or supply side issues due to shipping being completely asterisked; the real reason is that the foundries that make them are now too busy making the microchips that are going into the vaccines to make enough cpus/ gpus. Think about it sheeple, you know it makes sense.

  5. Indeed, with my mod, all Single Classes martials have some abilities to regain ressources (some had already before the mod) That's only true for SC martials and that's intentional. Say that to the guys who designed Megabosses

  6. It's not technically available. All i can do is to add mid-level upgrade for druids, that allows 2 spiritshifts per fight (exept shifter subclass of course). And i remember, that in PoE 1 spiritshift refund with scepter was very cheesy and allows to spiritshift very often.

  7. That's a quite laconic and exact way to put it That's exactly what I was thinking when planning my next party 2 months ago. One ascendant and four tacticians (one multi-classing with priest). Upkeeped BDD/Unbending/Driving Echoes/and other sugar; plus dedicated flanker/unflaker that can re-trigger Brilliant: via disengaging/reengaging (with Nomad's Brigandine) via being flanked by enemies (or using blunderbuss modal) and switching Squid's Grasp back and forth and in case of boss fights quickly repeat it ~10 times once in 30s; because one resource in 6s, is too slow when there is enough + action speed - recovery time) By the time I finished planning I felt soo dirty And no longer felt the motivation to play, because why bother when infinite BDD, or overhealing Unbending makes the party unkillable. You've already won. And at the same time, I didn't want to take another party, because everything else I was coming up with, was strictly subpar. That's when I started to think about changes to BDD/SoT/WoD/Unbending/Blade Cascade/etc, and looking for ideas) Since a balanced solution that would feel good for everyone and is also easy to explain/describe and implement is not that obvious, I think one approach could be by starting with a list of what we want to achieve, keep or change. For example: I'd like wizard/druid/priest to benefit a bit less from Brilliant, since the current edge case of getting a rank-9 spellusage versus 1 guile/zeal/discipline is too much. I'd like it to not be possible to cast more than 4 rank-9 spells in 1 minute. Or even 2..3 per minute on average in the long fight. And at the same time I don't want to be hard limited to just 2-3 of them per combat. I'd like to keep resource regeneration, since I like using abilities; and don't like watching my characters auto-attacking. I'd like to have the dilemma of: do I make my party [sturdy but slower] or [faster but more fragile]; instead of [faster but more fragile; and running faster out of resources after which becoming even more fragile] I'd like upkeeping BDD 24/7 to not be possible; But at the same time I don't want to limit priests to just 2 BDD casts per combat; I think upkeeping BDD on 2-3 party members for 50% of combat (for medium and hard fights) is a reasonable upper limit I'd like upkeeping very high defenses 24/7 to not be possible; unless you give up enough acc/dps/penetration. I'd like upkeeping Unbending 24/7 to not be as effective. Shorts bursts of 15s hard-to-kill once in 30-60s; or limit it's healing to no more than 50-60% of damage taken I'd like upkeeping Blade Cascade for 24/7 to not be possible, since it kills the point of other stuff that decreases recovery-time; and completely removes the speed downsides of heavy armor I'd like it to not be possible to keep buffs for over 9000 seconds; since it unbalances the [strong but short] vs [weak but lasting] effects I'd like martial classes to have some additional, but x2..x3 weaker AND conditional means to regenerate resources. This will decrease the importance of Brilliant for them. Or will bring their regeneration closer to casters', when used with Brilliant in tandem I'd like resource regeneration to be a little bit faster if you really build for that; or invest in high DEX / action speed ... Now, what are your likes?

  13. Still 7 Days/A19. I have discovered ... how to enable the use of multiple land claim blocks. LCB's are what you can use to define a smallish (relative to world size anyway) area where zombies cannot directly spawn (from sky to bedrock, square shaped), so you can have at least one base without z's popping into existence right in the middle of it, right. But you can only have one active at a time (place another one, first one "breaks"). There's also the portable bedroll, but same applies (so you could have two "base spaces" per map) but bedroll is also for designated - vs. random - respawn point so you'd rather the bedroll be for temporary placement. This severely limits "castle size" for us builders since you don't want z's spawning inside your workshop or a wall, say. Anyway, you can change number of active LCB's in the registry entries for the game. So now I can build ... 32! Ok, now I can REALLY make a fortress. Turn a whole town into one! I wonder if there's a limit even with registry. Could I have 10,000? Claim the entire map except for allowing small pockets of zombie hunting zones? BWHAHAHA.

  15. Right, exactly. You can be dark and twisted and for adults, or you can be for and empowering young teen girls. Uh, it's a little difficult to do both at the same time in a way that resembles any sort of consistency or sanity. Just about impossible, really. Majestic said they originally wanted to make a show for Codename: Sailor V, but Naoko convinced them to make a show for a new manga, Sailor Moon, that she was making as they were producing the show, if I'm recalling correctly? That's why there's a lot of 'filler' episodes in the show, as well as entire arcs that don't show up in the manga. Did she pull a fast one on the show-runners and just make crazy stuff that strongly deviated in tone from Codename: Sailor V, hence why they were like "uh yeah, nah, we're going to have to 'adapt' this"? What in the world happened? I (and/or Majestic) am going to eventually read Codename: Sailor V, so I guess I'll figure out if that's just as messed up or not.

  16. They could be made PL-0-autopicks - like all the subclass passives or Carnage, Transcendent Suffering, Wound Trait, Soul Whip, Constant Recovery and so on. That way they could be seen as a passive that just comes with the respective resource pool. No "must pick" problem then.

  17. Glad to see the discussion has moved towards more varied ways to regain resources. Only trouble with adding new talents is that they'll become "must-picks", which constrains building. You can argue that, if Brilliant is nerfed, this is the tradeoff to not needing a Cipher in every comp if you want to try hard. But I do think it's most elegant if you can add resource regen to existing talents - especially ones that people were likely to choose anyway - so that it feels like an added dynamic and not like yet another constraint on building your characters.

  19. Turns out Epic gave me GTA5 at some point, so I decided to give it a go - I didn't really play many Rockstar games, mainly side series LA: Noir, Max Payne3. I got Elder Scrolls syndrome - played for couple of hours, wasn't terribly engaged and I found it too boring to continue. I had most funs playing tennis. I am somewhat torn about giving RDR2. I would love a good Wild West game, and it is definitely more my style then whatever GTA is. It just looks so not very interesting.

  20. It seems that Systemshock remake is back on track. There is new demo available on Steam and GoG. It's pretty generous when it comes to content - first level I believe. I died before reaching the end, though I feel I have been reaching the end (playing for about 2 hours) - I don't think it supports saves right now. I never played Systemshock1, UI just seemed a bit too prohibitive, and so far I liked a lot what I played. It still feels like an old game but in good ways. There are few kinks - these is one bit when you play a game of Plummer while levitating - that was super awkward. I assume the Plummer minigame wasn't done in real time in the original. But overall, good stuff.

  21. The idea itself is nice. But it is unclear if let's say at 12th second, character restores only 1 spell usage of PL-2; or also 1 spell usage of PL-1. (and so on for each 6*n second) Also in order to restore 1 spellusage of rank-9, character would need to upkeep Brilliant for 54 seconds straight without resetting it. I was thinking about SC restoring up to rank 3, 6, 9 on each tick. And MC restoring up to rank 3, 5, 7 on each tick. But this really complicates things; so probably will have to discard such separation. That be great, but I also don't know how to implement this. Yes! And a rank-8 upgrade wouldn't hurt, in case MC gets an upper hand. Yes! And ranger. Yes! But just want to accentuate: that it also should not be abusable, like in case of onKill resource regeneration coupled with killing own skellie summons. I really like your fighter idea with attack resolution conversion But don't see how to implement it yet... Regarding paladins and getting zeal on knockdown: if it gives 3 zeal, it can be abused with Providence (+consumables that remove injuries). Regarding barb and getting rage when getting hit while bloodied or lower: I think this is too strong, and can cause rage overflow. Regarding rogues: it's easy to land multiple afflictions in short amount of time; so it also looks too strong. ----- I will propose a few alternative ideas: Barbarian: add "?" rank-4 talent: gain 1 rage and +20% Action Speed for 5s, when Critically hit (by enemies) while bloodied; but lose 1 rage when Critically hit (by enemies) while Near Death Fighter: still thinking Paladin: still thinking; but would like something that restores zeal if he does a good supporting job Ranger: add "Hunting Tactics" rank-4 talent: critical hits by Animal Companion (vs enemies) have 50% chance to restore 1 Bond to the ranger add "Cull the weak" rank-8 talent: ranger and Animal Companion get +20% hit-to-crit vs afflicted enemies Rogue: add "Underhand Strikes" rank-4 talent: if you haven't taken any damage in the last 8s, your critical strikes with melee weapons against enemies have 50% chance to restore 1 guile to you (and there is no need for rank-8 co-talent, since there is Gambit) Whatcha think?

  25. I have a very strong knack of "learn by seeing", even once, so all the DIY stuff I know I learned by somebody showing me or by watching over the repairpersons shoulder. I also have a PhD in RTFM which will get you through any project. The only thing I wont mess with is "black pipe" which carries NG throughout my home. Even though I know how to do it, I prefer to leave that to the professionals.

  26. I really dig this spell. It goes so well with the Gaun lore. I get a kick out of harvesting the souls of people who've tried to cheat death. Xoti has finished off death knights, a vampire lord, an undead dragon, the Beast of Winter, Concelhaut, the list goes on... I imagine they all got sucked into her lamp.

  31. I wouldn't mind another (non-5E) D&D game, but they could choose a more interesting setting than the Forgotten Realms. I'd only be really interested in a Forgotten Realms game if it was set in the Moonshaes. But seeing as any new D&D game would almost have to be 5E...meh.

  32. Well this may be the exact dilemma with reviving that franchise. The two games were very different from one another, and for many fans they liked one or the other but not both. I for one loved 2 and hated 1. So exactly which way do you go with 3? More like 1 or more like 2?

  34. am not gonna speak for @Boeroer, but one cannot help but recognize how you are indulging in arguable the same sin against which you rail. also, while am not agreeing with you regarding obsidian's best titles, am thinking such a recognition is hardly significant. am convinced fact we both approve o' obsidian, in spite o' fact we disagree 'bout their best works, is a positive sign. all too often, "niche" is an excuse for why a game sold poorly. fact that nobody thus far has identified the two titles we would identify as our obsidian favorites (not necessarily their best works) is potential a positive as such suggests the appeal o' obsidian games is not limited to an insular and discreet hardcore fanbase so utter homogenized they is incapable o' embracing a game which could have broader appeal. gonna go out on a limb and predict microsoft wants broader appeal than the bulk o' previous obsidian titles. in another bit o' irony different from your lack o' self awareness regarding boeroer's criticism is fact we disagree with you which has us optimistic 'bout future obsidian games. whatever is the essential appeal o' obsidian, it clear transcends individual titles. notoriously finicky hardcore fans may be able to continue to enjoy whatever is the new brand o' obsidian titles. ... what the heck. am gonna admit that while the game were woeful undercooked and ended worse than even other obsidian titles which tends to end less well than started, kotor 2 were our favorite game from obsidian. sure, near everything after the big confrontation with the assembled masters on dantooine is a torturous slog, but the first 2/3 o' kotor 2 is fantastic. big name title with a publisher as much adversary as enabler and we still ended up with a few o' obsidian's best written characters. obsidian even managed to work with an established ip not their own and do something unique with it. kotor 2 were, even at its best, a hot mess. we liked kotor 2. is aspects o' kotor we liked better than any other obsidian game. manage kotor 2 while working with/for lucas has us far more optimistic 'bout the future working with/for microsoft than is many o' our fellow boardies. and am recognizing kotor2 and lucas ain't same as microsoft situation. just sayin'. btw, am not much o' a star wars fan, so the kotor2 approval for us is all the more curious. HA! Good Fun!

  36. SoT+brilliant solution is simple - leave SoT as it is, and make brilliant restore highest used spell periodically for 1-3pl on 6sec after cast, then 4-6 on 12sec, then 7-9 on 18sec, then 1-3 again on 24sec, and so on. So brilliant (or any other effect) can be prolonged for some time (by one priest), but not forever. e.g. if x<15 sec, it will end in 65th second of duration, and needs to be cast again. Long enough to be resonably powerful, but not infinite. Ofc priest must cast it every time if possible and ruin his action economy. WoD could give 0.5sec duration of effect, every 1sec, and won't extend duration so good as SoT, but it's one time cast. Still fun, still reasonable, but not so OP
