I have the same problem, but it only happens to me when I try to camp or sleep. Apparently the version of the epic store is 1.02 and the latest version of the game is 3.07 ... https://pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com/Version4 points

@Gorgon TLDR: Considering I didn't think I'd like this sort of game/setting at all, I think it's at least engaging enough so that, unlike a lot of games I've tried recently, I keep turning it on almost every day, even if I don't spend a ton of time or doing much forward progress each short session. Make of that what you will. The early exploration aspect catches your interest, and you'll find plenty to do if you want to wander around outside of the main plot. I've heard the main story (if you were to totally rush it) isn't much longer than most big title campaigns are these days, but all that side stuff and exploration and some options is going to extend that time by huge amounts (and multiple playthrus if you like it enough). As someone who typically doesn't care much these days about story/writing depth or cutscene-ing, I'm not a very good judge of those aspects since I hardly pay attention as everyone's jabbering for long minutes (outside of lol'ing at one-liners....). I'm more the is gameplay and other mechanics interesting/fun observer. Game has a sort of Fallout4 dialogue system where the given options are short and then what your chr. actually says doesn't always feel like it matches what you picked, which I don't like but whatever. And those timed dialogue line choices (where the timer is like 5-6 seconds I swear) are annoying... I think gameplay so far is nothing too special, especially gunplay (non-gun combat is more fun imo). Outside of main plot missions, at least early on, a lot of time I feel like I'm simply roaming around whacking random-ish gang bangers for their loot and street cred points (hey, they keep running into my baseball bat, what can I do). Which is funny but...I'm also starting to feel like the crafting and gear upgrade system is very basic and not terribly interesting. There's different "color" loot but honestly if you just keep dismantling stuff and upgrade fave outfits/early guns periodically you'd probably do fine, at least on Normal. Not sure about the skill/perk system, some things seem interesting/useful, many things are in that "your health/stamina/whatever regens 10% faster!" for a point spent, category. I don't think there's any enemy level scaling either so if you grind a lot you might find general combat becoming way too easy at some point, where maybe only story and certain quest bosses might seem challenging (again, on Normal, haven't checked out higher differences, yet).3 points

Well, since I'd need a new PC for Cyberpunk I guess I'm part of the PNP alliance So I've been building, of course. Gotta love having merged my different savegames into one, it's kind of cool to run into my own buildings from other characters in the wild. My first base: My old Khitan base, built against a large stone pillar Also been working on a base for my Darfari using (mostly) the new Stormglass set. The set has actual windows instead of just holes in the wall for a change! They look a bit like early class, so they allow light and a distorted view of outside through. Top-down view, hopefully giving a slightly better idea of the layout... Same, but at night. I like the light behind the windows, at least in as far as the draw distance actually draws it... Building a little village around the castle Map Room at the top of the left tower, took some doing to make this work with the stability...3 points

They announced they would refund console users if they don't want to wait for patches/updates, along with an apology for not showing last-gen console gameplay so ppl knew what to expect and for not making it perform better in the 1st place. I suppose that's nice of them but I'm still kind of3 points

I helped my daughter finish the Christmasification of her room this weekend. Over Thanksgiving we had painted it and she put up LED lights, then Saturday we put shelves up, and now the we have the train running. I treated myself to a laser level to get those shelves done, and it came out pretty well. Here is a video of it, hope it works: https://imgur.com/a/iUmK4EX3 points

I am V, The Immortal. ...thanks, hex editing. Now I can rush the main plot and just take goofy pictures whenever.3 points

With you on this. The voice actress for V is great and those moments immediately after she gets a bullet in the head after the heist gone wrong and up to when she leaves the apartment are probably the first instances in which I've heard something resembling genuine despair from a video game protagonist.3 points

I have had the same blank screen w/hand cursor problem in this game epic games version. I checked this forum about the previous postings, but nothing solves my problem ( starting the game in windows mode, alt+enter, starting the game with the low resolution, changes the fsaa settings in the nvidia control panel, trying to start game in the nvidia geoforce experiment etc...) Maybe patching the game solves this problem , but epicgame version of POE is 1.0.2 . I don't know how i manuel patch 1.0.2 to latest version . I am waiting EpicGames to update the game to latest version. If anybody finds another solution to resolve this problem, i will try that solution also.2 points

"“ISRIB’s extremely rapid effects show for the first time that a significant component of age-related cognitive losses may be caused by a kind of reversible physiological “blockage” rather than more permanent degradation,” said Susanna Rosi, PhD, Lewis and Ruth Cozen Chair II and professor in the departments of Neurological Surgery and of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science." if it works, even if only in mice, it fundamental changes what we thought we knew 'bout brain disorders, particular those linked to age. Anyone care to tell me approx. "how long" it takes before the whole city opens up (outside of typical blocked off dungeons/quest areas ofc), main story wise? eg, if you only do the main questline. Sidenote: this doesn't really feel like a game where running around on foot, outside of a few obvious places, is the best thing to do, immersion wise. You start noticing way too many weird AI, graphic, and "busy city" background scripting things that completely break immersion. Like the traffic headlights that appear and stop then disappear at the same spot on the freeway (they never get closer) or cars stopping/piling up in the middle of the freeway because they're obviously not scripted to go any farther but can't disappear while you're staring at them. One time I walked down a street, saw a filler NPC walking by, turned a corner and the exact same filler NPC was walking towards me again. The overall illusion of a busy city is good as long as you aren't paying close attention, but the AI/pathing/scripting of background is quite terrible.2 points

The conversation with the doll was nice. Will say they do a good job of making you care about some characters. Felt good to kill Placide.2 points

Since it's more game company news than game specific, but did you folks see that CD Project Red have already made back the money they invested in Cyberpunk? Apparently the eight million pre-orders and day one sales earned them over the cost of producing the game. So the company made the decision to actually pay all bonuses rather than hold them to the criteria of critic / metacritic review thresholds. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-12-11/cd-projekt-changes-developer-bonus-structure-after-buggy-release2 points

Hi Dev Team! I just want to say I'm big fan! I loved Outerworlds, New Vegas, and I just beat Pillars of Eternity with plans on beating POE2 soon. Thanks for the tons of hours of fun exploration of rich and beautiful universes. I felt like as a fan I wanted to tell y'all my thoughts on the next game. The lore and stories of POE feel so fleshed out and it seems like there's a ton of content for y'all to draw from when making this. I'm sure as creative people that is super exciting and that gives y'all a lot of wiggle room to experiment with story telling and character development. Needless to say I am very excited for the release of this game(I think I'm going to make a cipher :P). With that said though this game is gonna get a huge amount of attention, as it's directly competing with Skyrim, so I want you all to take it easy on yourselves. Make something that you love and I think fans like me will love it too. I think y'all have the potential to make something as big as Halo 1 or GTA San Andreas (I know these are extremely high bars). Rome wasn't built in a day. I think y'all are talented and capable enough to make something that big(again no pressure just have fun making it ^_^, fun is after all the point hah). Most importantly though, take as much time as you think you'll need to make it good. Part of our society wants things fast, but another part of society lauds things that are executed well! Those two things are constantly in contention and I think it gives a lot of people grief. So my wish is for y'all to enjoy life and enjoy making this game because it looks like it's gonna be awesome! Thank You! Alex1 point

it were a couple weeks previous when barr announced the doj hadn't seen any evidence o' widespread or election changing fraud in the 2020 election. *gasp* then it were public announced that hunter biden were being investigated for tax issues. even though all the relevant info were previously leaked october surprise style before the election, trump blasted barr for not public announcing the hunter biden investigation. weren't so much a rat leaving the ship. were a jack torrance situation by trump. I always took that as Rogue just not wanting to work with you, not an explanation of why you're working alone. Sort of a silly argument from her anyway, you've done one job and lost crew members, not like it was a streak of casualties and given the way they talk about mercs in the game, there's heavy risk.1 point

is it wrong we hoped that when the train reached the end of the tracks it would explode in a shower of red and green pyrotechnics? possible pipe in screams o' those imaginary passengers caught in the multi-hued conflagration? ... might lose some o' the good dad points you had earned with the decorating if you take our suggestion and implement. probable best to follow your own judgement in this matter. though am thinking tim burton would agree with us. regardless, am applauding you for doing the christmas thing right. good on you. Phoenix Point mind control: The AI will not attack AI creatures/soldiers you have mind controlled. In this it is very different to many other games, where you can mind control an opponent and use them as a meat shield. Mind control can be broken by disabling/panicking/killing the controller. Mind control is not broken if the controller evacuates the map. This I found out today, will lead to situations where all Phoenix Project soldiers have left the map, and a solitary mind controlled crab man hangs around. The mission does not end, because not all soldiers have evacuated. The crab man can't evacuate, because it is affected by a status effect (mind control) which prevents it from performing the action - the button is there, but grayed out with a warning that it can't be used. For the mission to end, the mind control has to wear off. This can take a few turns, during which the mind controlled crab man is free to do whatever. The other creatures will ignore it and move randomly. Free kills if you can get them in time...1 point

Found some glasses and a long coat. Score! I'm starting to look kewl now, which of course is 100% the most vital thing in an RPG. One man's trash.... Edit: I've left Jackie waiting in some spot, again. Poor guy. At least he's patient.1 point

This is why I never get anywhere in games. It's been way over an hour and I haven't even gotten past the first few tutorial missions. I left some dude standing by my car and ran off into the sunset. ...the 2nd pic, visually made me think of Tremors (pole-vaulting!) Also, shadows!1 point

Started "Prey". So far so good, looks intriguing, gives me vibes of Bioshock, new Deus Ex and SOMA. Met a lone monstrosity whom I stun-and-gunned to see what stuff he was guarding, left his two friends sharing the room alone for now, they probably won't go anywhere. Funny how there's a separate skill tree for the wrench alone, I wonder if it is going to be the only friend you will ever need, like in Bioshock?1 point
