  3. Hello, Hurlshot. Welcome to Internet. Here, there's no middle ground between pull-yourself-up-by-the-bootstraps 100-hour weeks FREEDOM without social benefits and FULL COMMUNISM where the state gives you boatloads of free stuff and lines you against the wall*. Better even, this thinking seems to be becoming more and more widespread as people are more interested in scoring points than get anywhere in a conversation. There comes a point where you're more likely to get through to the person in front of you with your fists than with words. I think we reached that point cca 2016. Enjoy your stay! *not necessarily in that order

  4. I wonder if the 'safe zone' would qualify as a land grab? After all, they're imposing a 'border' where they think the border should be. I've also read in some places that some people are worried that the conflict might spill into Iraq, though I'm not sure what that would entail, the Turks trying to impose a 'safe zone' in iraq? re Turkey pulling the US in: I've seen some commentators saying that Turkey might draw the US back into it via NATO obligations or something, but the relationship between the US and Turkey is pretty low right now. I don't think Turkey would be eager to extend a hand to the US and ask for help and Trump would be under pressure to not get involved in wars again from his base, especially in an election year.

  5. It's been a while since I used any of my old trainers that typically get blocked, but I don't think you are many steps away from specifying what file you want off their lists. Haha, every time I read your fitness updates I get cramps

  7. I've been contemplating the idea of running a marathon, and if I did that, then I'd probably want to try and qualify for Boston. My regular running group has a bunch of people that qualified for Boston this year, and it has definitely been fun to watch them on that journey. But it is a pretty ambitious time for my age group. At 41, you need a 3:10 time to qualify, which is about a 7:15 mile pace. I can do that pace for a long time. I mean, with good conditions and a fairly flat road, I can hold that for a half marathon. But I've never actually run more than 15 miles, and I know it gets super hard to keep the pace going. Most people seem to hit a wall around mile 17-18, an again around mile 23. So yeah, just bouncing it around right now. I'd probably train for a year to get ready.

  11. went basic. reverse sear o' a small cross-rib roast. have a bakery here in town which makes kimmelweck rolls. is good we may buy fresh rolls 'cause while am capable o' baking, we avoid. am now having roast beef for the next couple days. only drawback is we had to use additional stew meat and beef stock to make au jus 'cause the roast were producing virtual nul pan leavings. HA! Good Fun!

  13. I just fought a boss and now I have to fight this douchebag. Edit: Killed him on the 5th try via a combination of figuring out his timings and switching to a big ol' 2-handed sword. I learned that I almost never got an opportunity to get more than 1 hit on him at a time, so I might as well make it a really damaging hit.

  15. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia has always been a guilty pleasure of mine. But I just finished watching the season 13 finale and it was a complete surprise. Kind of amazing that a show that has been in that long can amaze like that. https://www.vulture.com/2018/11/its-always-sunny-mac-dance-season-13-finale.html#comments

  19. Just finished Greedfall. Pretty good game, but like the Technomancer I don't know if I'll ever play it again because of all the backtracking (Mass Effect Andromeda broke my soul in terms of being able to weather through excessive backtracking).

  24. Let's dispel once and for all with this fiction that 213374U doesn't know what he's doing. He knows EXACTLY what he's doing. 213374U is undertaking a systematic effort to change this forum, to make forums.obsidian.net more like the rest of the internet. That's why he posts copypasta and smugly tells gamers off and was rude to a South African user. It is a systematic effort to change forums.obsidian.net. When I'm global moderator of this forum, we are going to re-embrace all the things that made forums.obsidian.net the greatest message board on the internet and we are going to leave future posters with what they deserve: the single greatest forum in the history of the internet.

  25. Win10's Defender kept auto-deleting/not letting me copy over an .exe file it deemed dangerous and the only way I could find to make it stop (simply, easily) was to blanket exempt all .exe's, not just that specific one. What idiocy.
