  1. @Boeroer Thanks to you! I used it in my Ultimate run and it saved me primarily real time instead of waiting for the normal regen. You posted this idea a while ago. I am not sure if it is a "game breaking" bug or not, but unfortunatelly I haven't got an answer yet from Obsidian if my run is actually ok or not. Still waiting. Anyways I shared my run with you because I do not fear competition and like to share ideas and strategies. With a Brilliant+BDD character it is quite safe but I am currently playing SC monk and it is so super weird. Enemy AI just doing random stuff, it is really annoying. ____ Just noticed I forgot to share the hidden dirty strat to get rid of Vela for the arena fights!!! Read carefully!!! - Equip Bounding Boots - Jump onto the spectator platform - save => load => Vela gets teleported to the spectator platform - jump back into the arena - CYA VELA DO NOT DISTURB ME WHILE FIGHTING, TY !!! Enjoy.

  2. Hey ulti-mates! Remember the discussion about Lethandria's Devotion? Andthat it gives the wearer (not party members) 1 HP immediately when you switch to it? Check this out: I mean: Josh said bugs are fair game, right?

  3. Was in the yard the other day and was amused to notice the hubster had placed "hay" underneath all the low lying, developing cantaloupe melons. He's a caring soul. Also, a couple of the tomatoes. Most of them grew to over six feet. They are all different varieties, from large cherry sized to average/normal color to those dark green/rust colored types that have become popular in stores lately. Always nice to go out and pick one for a sandwich or a salad. There are also (in other garden beds) long green beans (like the Chinese restaurant dishes variety), cilantro/coriander, dill, jalapeno's (three varieties), and, uh ... a few other things, I forget. He sorta went whole hog and experimented a lot this year. The dried grass/hay seems to help with reducing some types of ground pests. The yard sorta looks like we have multiple swingsets from the quickie/temp metal pole/bar supports he erected to help support some of them. He needs to come up with something a bit less fugly next time.

  4. Received an actual hand written letter in the mail from my niece today. Two and a half pages long hand. She is a freshman at Stetson University down in Florida. she is "rediscovering" the lost art of letter writing. Nice stationary, elegant hand writing, etc. I have to say I was both touched and intrigued at the idea. I don't think the art of writing is lost. In my job I am very careful and meticulous in e-mail and business writing/document production. But handwriting it on paper.... been a loooong time since I did that. So I sat down at my desk and wrote her a reply. Wow. Does my handwriting look like s--t. Was it always like that or am I out of practice? And no matter how many times I tap on the paper with my right hand it won't spell check! WTF? Does anyone know a printer font that looks like real handwriting? Bah... it was a nice idea while it lasted.

  5. I have finished my second playthrough of Tales of Symponia on PS3. First time, I've played it in 2014 . I had not enough Grade to get bonus XP nor to transfer my earned Gald for New Game+, so I had to play it the classic way. With little bit of grinding for equipment and consumables for boss fights . I was able to finish every single sidequest and minigame, with the exception of Zelos' Gigolo title (because I've picked Kratos at the end of the game), which was a mistake during my planning phase for this playthrough. I've tried to achieve as much Titles as possible, with Kratos getting all of them, so the Platinum Trophy road is now at 54%. Game is still solid gold, with very good storyline, but it has not as enjoyable combat for me. Other Tales of... titles are much better in this regard. I should have now enough Grade to get transfered everything I've need for NG++.

  6. I went back to the Colombia mission determined to complete the silent assassin, suit only challenge. There are 3 targets, 2 of them are relatively easy to eliminate, but the third is extremely hard without a disguise. I can't even tell you how many times I had to reload the save I made after killing the first target (you only get 1 save on master difficulty), but it was a lot. Eventually, I got the job done. Then, instead of taking an easier exit out of the place, I stole their helicopter to make my escape . That's how I roll.

  7. I ended up buying Gibbous: A Cthulhu Adventure yesterday. Surprising production values with fully animated sequences and detailed layered backgrounds. Lots of promise for having barely started.

  8. Got into a fight on the way home from work. One of the foreign summer holiday stand in drivers for one of the forwarder companies at work that has been nothing but trouble for us banged his door into my car. When I confronted him he refused to pay, I threatened to call the cops on him and he started swinging for me. Wrestled him to the ground and used the old trick of pushing my thumbs into his eyes until he started screaming and crying. He's probably still crying.

  10. This sounds pretty cool! A bit more reminiscent of the usual Amon Tobin sound than Fear in a Handful of Dust (though I don't speak with the greatest authority in the matter either). I'll have a listen to it! Also Martes is indeed superb, to me what Murcof's done there is essentially the electronic equivalent to the sacred minimalism of John Tavener, Arvo Pärt and the likes. Really transcendent work. This is probably my favorite track off the album:

  12. I have played about six casual hours of Dragon Quest: Builders2, so far. I say casual hours because I wasn't trying very hard to speed through it. I had forgotten how this game/series likes to make you either read or click-through exhaustive tutorial/story texts for the first few major missions, in order to gain basic tools, recipes, etc. which goes on forever and ever. "We need a way to protect the fields, build a scarecrow." "We need a place to sleep, make us a small bedroom." "Building/farming is forbidden! Wait, what tree is that, let it grow, here's a bunch of new missions to help that along." So one might spend 4-8 hours before feeling like one has any freedom at all. I find that annoying but once you get past that it's largely fine, albeit the quests continue but it's not restrictive. Anyway, I do like the graphical changes (nothing super special but looks better than the first game), and (mostly) the constant companion warrior dude, who as you go along breaking/harvesting materials will auto-help out. That said, if you're into micro-managing appearance and what you want to dig up, he might annoy a bit in that sense. Not entirely decided on that yet. But seems just as good as the first one, with some gameplay improvements like not having to start all over each island. I like how the island you wash up on is the actual "sandbox" island this time around, vs. sandbox mode being locked away for a long time, and with the idea being you go to other islands to gather resources and townsfolk to go back and turn/terraform that bare island into whatever you want, so to speak.

  13. Damage might come from the Sacred Immolation while you bind the enemies to you. Blackened Plate also has a healing aura. Togehter with Lay on Hands, Exalted Endurance and Voidward (and high RES) the self damage of SI should be manageable.

  14. You can get more engagement slots with armor and weapons. E.g. spears can give you +1, Kapana Taga +2, Blackend Plate +1, Blackened Plate Helmet +1, Reckless Brigandine +1 and so on. For example a Shieldbearer (+1) with Bronlars' Phalanx (+1) with Blackened set (+2) and with a spear (+1) or with Kapana Taga (+2). So... there are options.

  15. How in the world does one not know about Chernobyl? You really have to live far under a mountain.. maybe atop a mountain? - to not have heard about that. Has he heard about the berlin wall falling? =P

  16. I think that (optional) megabosses shouldn't be a reason for keeping a broken and overpowered inspiration. Especially if that problem mostly occurs when playing solo (which is not the intended way to play Deadfire and not how megabosses are balanced anyway). Better: adjust Brilliant (I like @ocelotter's idea of giving back a fixed amount of resources once - can be more for replenishable resources like wounds and focus, a bit less for fixed pools like discipline and zeal and 1 spells use per tier for casters) AND adjust values of megabosses. For example make them harder to hit but take away the absurd amount of hitpoints. You can work around high defenses but you can't work around a stellar HP pool.

  17. The architecture of Orr. Not for the faint hearted (it's a long way down). Yes, I'm "cheating", using a flying mount to get up there. Surreal skies over the land of the undead.

  18. So yeah, the master storytellers Friedman and Weiss, 'creators' of Game of Thrones have landed at Netflix, rather than Amazon as rumoured. So LOTR is 100% safe from their input. OTOH Netflix is probably a good fit given the (lack of) quality of most Netflix Originals recently. (Lol at 'GoT creators' in the headline though. They adapted it and pretty well initially, but ironically given that headline it was when they had to actually 'create' that they totally screwed the pooch. OTOH, they'd probably have done a decent job with The Witcher since that would have been an adaptation)

  24. Please remove the time restriction for edits! Please extend the login time! Please reintroduce BBCode mode! Why is nothing done about it? No comment or answer either. I can't edit the char build lists anymore. Others can't edit their sticky posts with tipps & tricks. It can't be too hard to do that stuff can it? What's the point of this thread then? Ks ks ks...

  25. This album is superb, the best I've heard of the entire vapourwave movement thus far. Properly dada, just utterly strange and absurd, but with that same melancholic element the best albums of the genre capture.

  26. Had fun playing Deadfire but I think I will take a break from it for a while. It sure is breathtaking though. The first island I named. ... as well as little buggy. I came down the deck and realized that one of my crew had no head. Aloth passed out during a fight and refused to get up so for a while I had a unconscious body sliding around on the floors like a roomba.

  28. The new Magma album is up on the YouTubes and it's glorious. A proper transcendent journey, the best spiritual jazz record since Ask the Ages without being strictly a spiritual jazz album. @LittleArmadillo0 You might enjoy it.
