RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS - VISUAL NOVELS ALLOWED

What's creepy? Everyone has a special person or two they wouldn't mind ending up in a ditch.

Still, silly to put such things to writing.

Can't say that I do. There's no doubt more people are bordering on mental illness than really known, and that's kind of creepy.

I don't understand what is going on

Beth's twitch stream has a Fallout figure against a background Fallout-themed standby screen. Since this is the day and age of... whatever... people are going crazy over it and watching absolutely nothing for hours. Paint Drying was a joke and a protest, this is for real.

Oh well and Obsidian confirmed via Twatter that it's not them working on the new Fallout game. Assuming it even is a new Fallout. It might as well be Switch releases or remakes of the old games for newer platforms.

And there's people who argue that the 80ies weren't the better decade to grow up in. Riiight.

Actually, it's already confirmed by Kotaku that it's a new Fallout game.

Ah, k. Must've missed that. :)

Not that I care much for a new Fallout game. Bethesda RPGs are just not for me, I learned that the hard way with Morrowind.

I remember towards the end of last year when in my "Youtube Recommends" there was a video (which I did not watch) titled "Where's TES VI?" to which I said "You guys realise that Fallout 4 came out not all that long ago? And that the space between Bethesda releases it generally around four years, right?"

Quote
“Political philosophers have often pointed out that in wartime, the citizen, the male citizen at least, loses one of his most basic rights, his right to life; and this has been true ever since the French Revolution and the invention of conscription, now an almost universally accepted principle. But these same philosophers have rarely noted that the citizen in question simultaneously loses another right, one just as basic and perhaps even more vital for his conception of himself as a civilized human being: the right not to kill.”

-Jonathan Littell <<Les Bienveillantes>>
Quote

"The chancellor, the late chancellor, was only partly correct. He was obsolete. But so is the State, the entity he worshipped. Any state, entity, or ideology becomes obsolete when it stockpiles the wrong weapons: when it captures territories, but not minds; when it enslaves millions, but convinces nobody. When it is naked, yet puts on armor and calls it faith, while in the Eyes of God it has no faith at all. Any state, any entity, any ideology that fails to recognize the worth, the dignity, the rights of Man...that state is obsolete."

There's also the generation that thinks the 90's were better than the 00's. Riiight.

I am over 30 years of age but I wish to God I had been born now than in the 80's. So much more tech now that I wish I had when I was a kid. My kids have it good, so much that they don't know lol

I don't know, I suppose any generation thinks their era is "the best" and finds something to complain about. That's how we know we are getting old... "Those kids don't know what this word means or who this was... *sigh*" and in reality, we old folks have alot to learn from the new generation if we could just get over our bitterlies of youth.

It's always been an interesting topic to me for sure! :p

Just what do you think you're doing?! You dare to come between me and my prey? Is it a habit of yours to scurry about, getting in the way and causing bother?

What are you still bothering me for? I'm a Knight. I'm not interested in your childish games. I need my rest.

Begone! Lest I draw my nail...

So we're getting a new Fallout before a new Elder Scrolls game? Weird.

Then again, Fallout 4 (even though I'm spending a lot of time with it) is a massive trainwreck, there's very little I can think of that isn't broken in some major way (shooting mechanics, and even there the AI cheats, unless dodging bullets from an undetected enemy counts as "normal" behaviour)

Honestly, if you're spending a lot of time on Fallout 4, it probably did a lot of stuff right as well.

One does not preclude the other. The reason I'm spending time with it is because modders managed to salvage quite a bit of the broken mess Bethesda left them. Meaning F4 is still a good platform for modding.

Fallout 4, unmodded, to me, is unplayable (I tried and I gave up until I could get all DLC in a sale). And I've enjoyed (and completed) both Fallout 3 and F:NV without mods (as well as Skyrim, for that matter). The Metacritic User Score of 55 tells me that most people do not mod their games to make them function somewhat acceptably.

I'm betting its a Fallout MMO.

:x

I'm thinking you're right...

Well they already decided to overload the Wasteland with a ton of people in Fallout 4, so I guess a flood of chosen vault dwellers makes sense.

It's good to see some Pokemon love on this forum, I'm not a huge fan but still, I always enjoy people looking forward to it :)

I'm actually not a huge fan as well. But it's news and so I let people know about it.

Also, new game coming 2019.

"Three announcements to come: first, Pokemon Quest, a mobile and Switch hybrid, fully controllable by touch. Story up on @eurogamer which we'll update with more soon."

For some reason, Pokèmon and controllable by touch in one sentence makes me feel very uncomfortable.

So what is it. I looked on their stream and it was just a fallout style TV busy signal with Django Reinhard playing in the background. Are they trying to be clever. We don't care THAT much after their recent lackluster showing with FO4

That was my first thought too, a Fortnite-type Fallout game.

I mean, it's almost too easy, what with the popularity of the genre and the setting meshing with that kind of game extremely well.

I'm betting its a Fallout MMO.

FalloutMMO.jpg

Great...  An MMO set in a world that is supposed to be almost entirely killed off by the war, and a series that was mostly about solitary adventuring in the mysterious aftermath.  One of the greatest (most impactful) experiences in the entire Fallout series was exploring the West-Tek facility; aka, "The Glow"...  They could never match it of course, but how can they even attempt to in an MMO format?  This would be the worst kind of franchise milking. Over the course of Bethesda's stewardship... the series has lost every single aspect, premise, and tenet of the Fallout concept—(aside from still using a few names) that made the brand worth buying (and the game worth playing) in the first place.   With FO3, there was so little left of Fallout already, that I'd never bother with any future "Fallout" title by them.

Lexx simply cannot wait to make that Rogue Synth, dress it like a hipster and join his mates online for the first raid in the upcoming Fallout: MMO. I bet he even has a name for his clan already.

It's okay, Lexx. We ALL want that Fallout: Online Collectors Edition which comes with a working pip-boy 6000 and a download code for the Armored Death Claw Mount.

There used to be a signature here, a really cool one...and now it's gone.

From the developers of Get Even:

Looks kinda same old, same old.  I do wonder at the point of escorting a B-2 with non stealth aircraft
