  1. http://eternity.obsidian.net/news/critical-role-and-obsidian-entertainment-announce-partnership-for-pillars-of-eternity-ii-deadfire
  2. I've had success using "Duality_of_Mortal_Presence_A_Modal" and "Duality_of_Mortal_Presence_B_Modal"
  3. It’s definitely less dark than the first game, but I don’t recall seeing anything goofy in the beta. Could you provide some examples of stuff that you found goofy?
  4. I think it was in one of Josh’s interviews? He mentioned that Tekehu has a rather passionate personality and you’ll run into more than one of his past ... acquaintances in Neketaka. I do recall his implying (or saying flat-out straight) that he’s bisexual.
  5. *Ahem* Deadfire is an accurate historical source, for your information
  6. I thought Firebrand didn’t get the bonus; will need to test again. Regardless, I know QA are doing “key word passes” to ensure everything’s got the appropriate key words, so hopefully all elemental spells and abilities will profit from rugose talents at release How come Duality didn’t work?
  7. Yeah, it was beta4; guess I just didn’t pick good spells, maybe. Might give it another try.
  8. I personally found the single-classed Fury underwhelming. Its Spiritshift isn’t generally as good as the others and a fundamental spell like relentless storm (which takes fairly long to cast) has a rather short duration. I’d sooner play an Animist at present.
  9. I too prefer 2D portraits. In the case of a spiritual successor to the Infinity Engine games, I’d find the 3D mugshot especially unfitting.
  10. That animation’s pretty good. I also like the golden Spiritshift forms when used with Gilded Enmity and the game’s VFX in general. Environmental audio’s pretty good, though I found it significantly improved by using CMSS 3D from my Sound Blaster. EDIT: the new inventory icons are also rad.
  11. The customization icon next to the A.I. icon underneath the character portrait in the Character Record screen is invisible until moused over: In the Character Record, the bonus from Shared Flames appears in two lines Cloak rests too low on aumaua's and dwarves' shoulders (it's basically on their backs and it clips through armor; by contrast, human models are fine.) Models' body color doesn't change to match the selected skin color for their head; also, in the case of this male dwarf, the head looks slightly detached from its body.
  12. EDIT: Wrong thread. Please disregard.
  13. I've been wondering the same. I tried putting the question through for the latest QA but it wasn't answered.
  14. I think he was asking why you think the game's going to have full voice overs.
  15. It's a double-edged sword. In the previous system, basically every weapon would under-penetrate all the time unless you played a Devoted or Berserker or had access to other penetration-boosting buffs. DR was frankly better, but looks like the SA people begged to differ...
  16. I also like stuff that expands on the existing game, although I’d also welcome new content—I’m flexible like that - More levels. Don’t have to be many; just enough to unlock a new power level for single classes, and give multiclasses access to PL 8. It opens up more options for endgame builds. - More talents, spells, powers, etc. especially on levels that have fewer. This includes passives (I’d love to see class- or subclass-specific passives but I realize it would be a metric ton of work.) - Trinkets. They had to be cut from the base game but I thought they were an interesting idea. - MOAR magic items. Can’t go wrong with those - New monsters (especially sea monsters), and boss-like fights (especially high-level ones so we can enjoy our endgame stuff.) - Improved A.I. is always a welcome feature if/where possible. The list takes for granted new areas and quests, obviously. It would be nice if companions got extra content each and extra interactions and interjections. I wouldn’t mind one new companion provided that it was as content-rich and well-integrated as the original seven.
  17. I honestly don’t see what the fuss is about re full VO. But hey, to each their own.
  18. If Monks get Dichotomous Soul at PL 7 (i.e. the progression hasn’t changed vs. what they found at RPG Codex), that bodes really well for martial multiclasses. The PL 8-9 abilities for Monk had better be amazing. Paladin gets two upgrades to Sacred Immolation to choose from at PL9, which is interesting. Priest and Druid high-level spells also sound promising.
  19. And other casters. Agreed it looks bad.
  20. I’d also like to voice my no for Torment’s Reach via Mortification. Helwalker works pretty well with Fighter too due to high MIG contributing to Constant Recovery.
  21. Tekehu is a Watershaper. I assume those are the bonus spells he gets.
  22. Some interesting stuff in there for sure
  23. True, but currently unavailable for fists as far as I'm aware. A minor oversight, mind you, but when you play as a Monk that would be a handy piece of information to have.
