  1. Hasn't AG Sessions already been accused of lying under oath? Apparently we're going to hear the "truth" from him. Or at least the truthiness.
  2. I'd like to see a soulbound item with a quest to free the bound soul. Do you free the hapless victim, or use it just like everybody else does?
  3. It's a unique world, so why not some unusual animals? A smilodon companion, for instance.
  4. Final season of Orphan Black has come around. Hopefully they provide a satisfying conclusion to this series.
  5. I think level scaling would work better if there is an in-game justification for it. For example, those bandits suddenly grew tougher because a new criminal alliance took over that is supplying better weapons and more training.
  6. If they want to do a mid-game expansion, the developers could always insert a level jump at the appropriate point, accompanied by a " time passes, events occur" cut scene. I.e. split the original game into two parts.
  7. I've never felt much satisfaction about vacuuming up herbs for enchantment purposes, whether it be PoE, Elder Scrolls, or any other system. It only became mildly interesting in the few cases where I needed to hunt down a particular herb at a certain location.
  8. Back in our neck of the woods we used to have an OWL Party. The name stood for: "Out With Logic, On With Lunacy!". It had the motto: "We don't give a hoot!". Of course, these days that's become the mainstream.
  9. HEL runs on military time. And the metric system.
  10. This probably needs a constraint on it like: both parties in the switch need to recover from their current action before the swap can occur.
  11. It might work if they used multiple different scales of overland maps with localized points of interest. A true open world seems impractical without resorting to near 100% random generation, and likely wouldn't provide a very interesting cRPG.
  12. It's a seaborne adventure, so... the Scuttlebut Shield is an improvised shield made from the base of a shattered scuttlebut cask, then reinforced with tar and hide, and magically enchanted (or cursed?) by a sea divinity. The shield is always waterlogged, making it heavier than it might seem, and it is constantly dripping brine. On the back are carved the initials "S.D.". Rumor has it that if you sleep on the shield, by morning your head will be filled with wild tales that will entertain your crew. Supposedly it also protects against fire, thirst, and in a pinch will double as an emergency flotation device.
  13. If the developers can't mess with the length of experience needed to gain a level, they could always expand the breadth. What I mean by that is they can allow the acquisition of unique lore through side quests which then allows characters to direct their development in ways they couldn't via the main plot. By doing so, they can add to the replayability. For example, a side quest could allow access to a rare scroll of swordsmanship that adds a unique 'talent' to the available pool. The characters will still need to level up to add the talent, but at least now they can build their character out along a slightly different path. Possibly there could be several such acquirable talents that are linked together -- gather all parts of the Ancient Art of Swords manual to master the new path.
  14. It's meant to make fun of the fact that I posted an anti Christian meme before that. I am the unschooled bourgeois kid with memes, for the sake of the joke. No? Ok. Sorry. I'm German. Humor doesn't always transition well between cultures. Take the French, for example. Please.
  15. We're comparing religious philosophers with unschooled kids now? Mmm, it doesn't seem funny.
  16. Tactically it makes sense for a fighter to be able to do a tactical swap ("bump"?) with any other party member. Group tactics should be in their blood. Perhaps other melee classes pick it up later, while the remainder need to spend a talent?
  17. A high athletics score should allow a character to squeeze (tumble?) through narrow gaps between an opponent and a wall or other obstacle.
  18. He's quite a figure in the window-making business. Where all the work is a pane.
