  3. Good luck finding a place to live. I spent a year and a half homeless a bunch of years ago. It was not nearly as bad as I though it would be, the biggest drawback was that the winters were really harsh (I lived in Connecticut back then) and all the shelters were full, but honestly I had a tent and a sleeping bag and plenty of blankets, so the weather was a minor concern, getting kicked out of places, since almost nothing in America is still public land, was the bigger concern. On the positive side, the area I was in had a really good soup kitchen that took care of the people. Oddly enough, I actually managed to gain money during that time, mostly doing MTurk stuff on my laptop at the library. $70 a week may not seem like much, but when your bills are basically zero... Anyway, the lesson I learned was to swallow my pride and accept help from family and/or friends.

  4. actually, recent studies show much o' what older studies reveal: lack o' education and a collection o' fringe personality traits is most common predictors o' a belief in conspiracy theory. https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2018/09/180925075108.htm https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/psych-unseen/201904/what-makes-people-believe-in-conspiracy-theories conspiracy theories is also more common for for losers. “Conspiracy theories are for losers,” says Joseph Uscinski, associate professor of political science at the University of Miami and co-author of the 2014 book American Conspiracy Theories. Uscinski stresses that he uses the term literally, not pejoratively. “People who have lost an election, money or influence look for something to explain that loss.” --from a time mag article from 2017. so, less educated schizoids (not necessarily clinical diagnosed schizophrenic, but those with schizophrenic traits) who is seeing selves as getting the fuzzy end o' the lollipop is, 'ccording to recent studies, the folks most likely to indulge in conspiracy theory nonsense, theories which necessarily depend on the absence o' evidence and/or comprehension to proliferate. listen to joe rogan talk with neil degrasse tyson regarding moon landing hoax. is surreal the ignorance o' rogan as he continues to explain why he believed in hoax... though we will note moon hoax is almost unique 'cause there is just so much evidence which clear refutes the hoax. ... is unlikely folks actual read articles, so will share our favorite line from the 2018 science daily offering: "Hart's study also showed that conspiracists had distinct cognitive tendencies: they were more likely than nonbelievers to judge nonsensical statements as profound (a tendency known as "BS receptivity")." so, "bs receptivity" is the clinical term? might need to use that one in the future. HA! Good Fun!

  5. It was mostly funny because that was the solution in a dedicated meeting room with a 100k worth of teleconferencing equipment and 11 IT folks. Toilet paper tube would have been even better just for the sheer absurdity of having that just laying around in the room.

  8. Why you hatin' on my boy Skazz, Bruce? In all seriousness, though, I don't mind romance in games. It's a bit of a case by case basis, if the writers feel it's appropriate and they have a good idea for it I'd say "go ahead" - but at the same time it shouldn't be approached as a necessity or expectation, nor should it be forced on players who wish not to partake in it. But to be honest, I love me plenty of RPG romances, be they the ones in Torment, Mask of the Betrayer, Viconia's in Baldur's Gate II, etc. Are they "realistic", as some others have criticized? Well, no, but they're emotionally satisfying and engaging all the same, like a lot of romance films and the likes out there. But, again, if you are going to put a romance in the game, make sure it's interesting, don't just put one in because "there needs to be one" or "there is demand for it".

HA! Good Fun! ps recent deceased Justice Stevens were fond o' "grok."

  23. ^ Just to clarify: I don't "hate" romances. I strive to have a "live and let live" approach to things. At the end of the day, it's just something that is not personally appealing to me, is all.

  25. Well the you know what is about to hit the fan here in Seattle. Cases are doubling by the day, and the Governor is planning to ban all events with more than 250 people in the three hardest-hit counties. It has to be done, I suppose. At work I'm nearly the only one in the office because people are working virtual whenever they can. The store shelves are empty of TP, hand sanitizers, and thermometers. People are staying away from restaurants and various businesses are hurting. It's... unpleasant to watch.

  27. First of all, recent studies show that it's a sign of high intelligence to believe in conspiracy theories. Second of all, stirring the pot is healthy for discussion and a mental excercise. These Euro-centric liberals just don't understand that.

  28. Can someone please explain to me why in turn based combat I will select an enemy to attack that is right next to my character and instead of doing this they f$&k off in a completely random direction so the enemies can just pick them off one by one? Also while on the subject how come the pointer mode on ps4 constantly breaks so you have no control over your party and on the best occasions they pi$$ off wherever direction they feel like often loading into completely different areas at a whim forcing you to sit through the god awful load times twice to get back to where you started only for it to break again? I seem to spend more time fighting this broken game than I do playing it to the point I feel I've been conned in to paying full price for a game that's barely above an alpha build.

  31. the real star o' the movie were spenser's buick riviera. am embarrassed to admit am not certain if it were an 83, 84 or 85. is easy to forget the luxury coupe rivieras in the early/mid 80s were selling slight more expensive than the bmw 3-series, and were out performing the german cars as well. always wanted a 79 riviera, but spenser's ride is drool-worthy as well. HA! Good Fun!

  33. governments forcing this kinda model onto a business owner = bad the capitalist voluntarily choosing a more egalitarian business model which allows employed to not only survive but prosper = good am not sure what is the genuine basis o' rush limbaugh's concerns, but we do recognize it could be more difficult to retain particular capable employees if you got a less flexible compensation scheme. is there enough qualified people willing to potential work for less if is for a perceived good cause? regardless, am less concerned than am hopeful. HA! Good Fun!

  34. I believe the Coronavirus was created by the U.S. government to try to wreck China's economy. But China is a tough beast and is recovering well. The U.S., on the other hand has absolutely no idea how to deal with it so it's looking like it's ironically doing a much better job wrecking the U.S. economy! So until we obtain solid leadership this thing will have to run its course.

  38. That's a little shortsighted. First of all people should worry that even if thet will not die they can infect someone who could die. Friends, family etc. A common cold is not very lethal and I still avoid spreading it if I catch one even if it's not "big deal". Second of all if allowed to spread freely because not a big deal if you are not old then you eventually will be old at some point in time. And since you can catch it more than once, as being sick once doesn't give you immunity like in some other viruses, that's a concern.

  43. You mean the Ranga, the Inquisitor and Waidwen? Yes, if you let them. However, after the first playthrough of BoW I never used them and it's still not difficult to beat Neriscyrlas (but depends on your level of course). One thing you have to do: make sure you can interrupt her as soon as she wants to cast Llengrath's Safeguard. That's what is boosting her AR into the stratosphere. If you interrupt her (need to remove concentration before!) she can't cast it and will stay at manageable AR.

  45. Have added creatures from lax1, lax2, lax3 and laxg packages. (later will add the remaining ones) Have added "Abilities" column. And updated the spreadsheet. Note: final defenses are calculated using: levelCoefBonus = 3 * (baseClassLevel - 1); fDeflection = baseDeflection + levelCoefBonus + (baseResolve - 10); fFortitude = baseFortitude + levelCoefBonus + 2 * (baseMight + baseConstitution - 20); fReflex = baseReflex + levelCoefBonus + 2 * (baseDexterity + basePerception - 20); fWill = baseWill + levelCoefBonus + 2 * (baseIntellect + baseReflex - 20); And everything looks fine,.. except for Dorudugan's deflection:I get 117/165/130/152, while he's real defenses are 132/165/130/152 Have I missed something? I have figured the cause for deflection missmatch. It is because of equipped shields. 23 out of 320 creatures have shields (that add somewhere around +6 - +16 deflection), and 3 of them also have 1h and shield style talent. I have updated the spreadsheet. P.S. Btw... even the bestiary doesn't take shield's deflection into account ^^ Here's an example (117 def, when it is actually 132) P.P.S. Some interesting finds (based on 320 creatures that were added so far): Edit: Added all creatures: 360 total. And here are the updated stats: - the average pierce AR is 8.26. And 17 creature types are immune to it. Mostly skeletons. - the average slash AR is 7.73. And only 3 creature types are immune to it. Specifically earth blights. - the average crush AR is 7.49. And only 5 creature types are immune to it. Specifically bog oozes and tentacles. (also most sigils/obelisks are immune to pierce/slash) Average creature defenses are: 55 deflection, 65 fortitude, 60 reflex, 59 will. It is quite rare to meet a creature with lower fortitude than their deflection, especially among high lvl/hp creatures. That's because of their high attributes. MIG+CON contribution to fortitude is 4 times higher than that of RES on deflection. - there are 37 creature types immune to Burn. But the rest have the average 7.20 AR. - there are 17 creature types immune to Freeze. But the rest have the average 7.70 AR. - there are 09 creature types immune to Shock. But the rest have the average 7.35 AR. - there are 08 creature types immune to Corrode. But the rest have the average 7.59 AR. Also: water damage: - stuns Lesser Flame Blights, dazes regular Flame Blights and staggers the Greater ones frost damage: - enfeebles Magma Oozes - heals Greater Ice Blights and rathun Frostcallers - stuns Lesser Flame Blights, dazes regular Flame Blights and staggers the Greater ones shock damage: - stuns Lesser Sand Blights, dazes regular Sand Blights and staggers the Greater ones - heals Greater Storm Blights fire damage: - terrifies Lesser Ice Blights, frightens regular Ice Blights and shakens the Greater ones - heals Greater Flame Blights, Fire Drakes, Elder Drakes and ofc Dorudugan Some immunities: - 64 creature types are immune to poison - 39 immune to disease - 5 immune to flanked (3 eotens and oracles) Lucia Rivan has passives from 5 paladin orders: Bleakwalkers, Goldpacts, Darcozzi, Kind Wayfarers and Shieldbearers.
