  1. While we're on the subject, which would you say is better, Brute or pure Barbarian/Berserker? I had a lot of fun with a pure barb in PoE 1.
  2. Eh. Staves aren't really my thing. I'll consider Willbreaker. What's your opinion about the two-handed axes? They look pretty cool too.Bleeding Cuts is very good with Blood Thirst. And both axes are nice. But they have the same problem: single damage type (slash) which is bad for a Devoted. If you are no Devoted then they are a good pick. And Amra you can get very early. Amra also allows to put Blood Frenzy onto enemies in an AoE since its Carnage-like ability can crit. You need 25 MIG though. In a testing setup with a single class Barb + Retaliation (which omits recovery and thus favors battle axes with bleeding cuts) the Willbreaker was still equally good because you will hit/crit more often. Seriously: I think there is no better weapon option (if you look at the whole playthrough from beginning to end) than Morning Star for a Brute - if you don't want to switch weapons. If you want to switch then of course there's always an optimal weapon for every encounter. And Chromoprismatic Staff is very potent. If you have a Beckoner in the party and you are a Berserker then Grave Calling is also top notch. Of course it's not two handed. Just as an example for a weapon that is very good with the right "conditions". Morning Star is always good and never bad for a Brute - that's why I think it's he best pick overall. I plan on doing Devoted/Berserker so I guess axes are out. I'll give Willbreaker a spin.
  3. What's the earliest you can acquire it on PoTD? Amra at the Radiant Court How does Amra's Frenzy work in conjunciton with a Berserkser's Frenzy? Would it just override it? Because that would suck.

  5. I haven't played Deadfire since the vanilla game and with all these DLCs I see that there are a lot of new items. I want to do a Brute playthrough with a two-handed weapon, but I'm not sure what to choose. Opinions?
  6. What favored enemies did you choose? Also, what style? Personally, I'm tired of the dual-wielding ranger, I'm thinking of doing an Aragorn-style two-handed ranger. So far most usefull would be whatever trolls are but I don't know how it will look futher in game, you can't go wrong with human or undead (I got undead). I have gone with something not related to bows or dual wield but personally I feel like archery is strongest pick for him Alright, thanks. I'm more of a melee guy so I'll stick to big swords. Shame I can't have a hamster animal companion.

  8. Thinking of playing a ranger, but I don't know which favored enemies to go for. I'm thinking about humans, undead and outsiders because those are always a sure bet in cRPGs. What else should I go for? Also, are ranger spells in Pathfinder any good?
  9. I'll add my vote to Brute as well. Devoted/Berserker hits hard and lands some pretty sweet crits while not giving up too much defense.
  10. I use two-handed weapons because I like the look and feel of it, but there's no question that dual wielding is statistically superior. It doesn't really matter though, my Brute is one or two-shotting most enemies with a two-hander anyway. It was the same in Baldur's Gate 2, dual wielding far out-passed two-handed weapons, but that didn't mean two-handers aren't viable. The game's not hard so play however you want. That said nerfing dual-wielding or buffing two-handers needs to be done.
  11. Well, that sounds like a massive oversight on their part. Bugs is one thing, but that's far worse.
  12. Also Moon and Nature godlikes are presumably missing their second racial/effect. I don't remember a secondary racial in their descriptions. I just assumed the devs thought their racials were powerful enough to stand on their own.
