  1. I have been enjoying the game a lot but i hit a soft lock on one of the main quests. The quest is called "Radio Free Monarch", the step i'm on is "Speak with Nyoka at Stellar Bay". The issue that I'm having is that I talked to her and went through her dialogue and she told me to get her some Caffenoid. So I got all the way through the dialogue and i told her i'd get it for her but the quest step didn't change and even figuring out where the caffenoid was and stealing it didn't progress the quest either. I also only have one option now when i speak with her. "Actually - nevermind. I'll cat

  2. Your entitled to your opinion. But it's definately a minority viewpoint. Obsidian are not known for mediocre ganes. Obsidian are known as one of the best RPG devs in the west. Something tells me more than likely your a very sad Bethesda fan. Who is so upset that Bethesda have gone so downhill that many don't want to support them anymore. TOW is so much better than Fallout 4. The RPG mechanics are better. And the slow Mo is far superior to Vats. But the biggest problem with Fallout is the writing. Obsidian writing is superb. 3. That's just like ... your opinion man. But I'm sure everyone here is greatful for your critique. However, my opinion is that it's the best Fallout like game since Fallout New Vegas. My opinion is that the writing is brillant. My opinion is that Obsidian is not known for mediocrity but for some of my favourite games ever.

  5. Not sure if this will actually be an issue in practice, but every time I press X to talk to someone the weapon is unholstered which is a little character breaking. I've tried reloading, restarting the game, and restarting Windows. Playing with an Xbox controller in Windows 10 in the Xbox beta app.

  6. I finished Code Vein. tl;dr game good According to Steam it took me 46 hours to complete. Someone better at Souls-likes could definitely knock some time off that. I enjoyed the game, it was a very well made Souls-like. My main previous Souls experience was Bloodborne and I will say this game is definitely easier than that, which is good for me on account of me sucking. A lot of what makes this game easier is the companion you can bring along. The companion AI is solid and they are very helpful in combat, healing, buffing, doing damage; they're a lot more than just a distraction. Of course

  7. So, While I'm playing the game the game with crash to desktop, no warning or notification of the crash the game will just close and I have to relaunch the game. I am running the game through the Epic Games Store. My specs are: CPU: Ryzen 7 1700X OCed to 3.8Ghz GPU: 2x RX 580 8Gbs OS: Windows 10 Pro 64bit RAM: 32Gbs of 3200Mhz I close all applications before starting the game just to make sure nothing is running in the background but it still crashes randomly, I'm not getting crashes in the same exact places either, they appear to be random.

  8. Hello. Is there a way to compare currently equipped items with items i see in shop? I know there is a C button to select something for comparing. But it doesn't seem to work if i tag one item in inventory and another one in shop UI.

  10. I do disagree: I think Bethesda's Fallout is the "cheap knockoff". Simply because Bethesda isn't smart. They do not do smart design, they do not write smart things. They themselves stated "You can either fill a large world with cheap content or make a small game with handcrafted stuff". This was true until CD Project Red showed them a pretty large middle finger. Bethesda-games do one thing right: Large, cheap worlds. It's McDonalds, sometimes I like it, but it's just "cheap, low-quality stuff, lots of it". Nothing the Bethesda-makers so far have said or done over the years made me think

  13. If you drop in e.g. a food item with a 200% recovery increase and another that is 25% total health buff the game will search your inventory for similar items and slot them in when a stack of anything particular runs out. The duration of the effects doesn't seem to enter into it with foodstuffs (although I will admit, vaping your dinner seems a bit odd) and this was a good use of the additional slots that used up a number of the heavier items without me caring very much. Be careful, if you start off vaping candy, you'll end up on the hard stuff, like Raptidon meat before you know it.

  14. Okay, I still think the premise is asinine, but the gameplay in the Forgotten Sanctum is actually pretty good so far. At this point, since I don't know for sure where this is going story-wise, I'll reserve judgment. Whatever my many and varied sins, I endeavor to play it straight down the middle. So, I'll keep playing. In the meantime, the puzzles are interesting and the battles are fun. Even Notnok was good. Much easier than Nemnok, although I did manage to knock out Fassima due to hastiness. That brings up my one real beef, and this one is entirely on me. I finished all my compan

  15. Well, this might be the dumbest argument yet, congratulations. So what you're saying is that by limiting player choice in choosing which platform to shop on, it's somehow giving developers more choice where they can sell their games? How on earth did you come to this conclusion? Epic Games Store takes a smaller cut than Steam (12% vs 30%). This means Epic could have chosen to use pricing as an advantage for their store (they could sell the games cheaper while still giving publishers/developers as much money as Steam does). But instead they chose to keep (or even raise!) the prices fo

  16. What do you mean by RPG? There is no combat, but you do develop his character, and interactions and options available to you are identified by you character build. There is certainly roleplaying and deciding what kind of character you want to be, and character react to it, and there are repercussions. As I endorsed the game quite a bit, I think I would like to summarise my overall thoughts after finishing the game (no big spoilers, obv). Game varies in quality quite a lot. I would divide it in my mind into three parts (Part 1, Part 2, epilogue). I found part 1 simply fantastic.

  17. So I've just started the game on PC and noticed something immediately... the crosshair is lowered for consoles and it isn't possible to raise it in the settings to make it centred on the screen which is typical of first person games on PC is this something that can be added as it is really grinding on me haha

  20. Hello Obsidian! I'm just starting this game that I've been waiting for since its announcement. Above all, after more than two hours of play, I love it! The art direction, the universe, the gameplay ... Thank you to all the team! I mention in passing that I am French, and that Google Translation helps me to write all that ... ------> The two "problems" that I encounter: - The text, whether at the level of subtitles, menus, is really too small. I do not wear glasses, I never needed them. But there, I squint, I get up to see better, it's not practical. it makes me ev

  23. For some reason The Outer Worlds opens on my second screen. I've checked all the settings I can find. My primary is definitely configured to be my primary in Windows. Other games and applications open on my primary display no problem. In game I've tried setting the Window Mode to Window, drag it over to my primary, and then full screen it again. But it just jumps back to my second display.

  25. These games aren't competing with one another, people. They are all coming out years apart, so I am pretty sure they can all exist and be enjoyed in the same marketplace. We aren't exactly saturated with these types of games.

  26. That's a fair question, but it also has to be said that this type of stuff is handled with a remarkable lack of sense in the game. For instance, judging by the reactions of the people on the streets of Neketaka, pretty much everyone knows about the watcher thing (like, how?), and pretty much everybody knows the player character was behind that event on the docks (like, how?). I personally found this rather immersion-breaking -- and completely unnecessary, most of all. Why was it necessary to have everybody make those comments? Also, whenever anything happens in the narrative, the whole game wo

  28. You're entitled to your opinion, but I *strongly* disagree. 1) Obsidian isn't known for mediocre games. They are a very successful RPG studio that has made some of the best games out there, and are widely acknowledged as such. 2) There's a *LOT* of companion interaction. No, there's no "romance", but so what? There's a cubic ****ton of interaction and comradeship. 3) You cannot do all the same stuff between those two games. You can't throw grenades in TOW, but you can't shrink people in Fallout 4. You can't enslave people in TOW, but you don't have any "dig through rat ****" quests in

  29. The very first game i remember playing (more or less, as i was 5-6 at the time) was a version of Prince of Persia recorded on magnetic cassette tapes, and you had to rewind the tape each time if you died. The damn thing got stuck more times that i would like to remember. Things got a little better after that, for a while at least. In any case, having utilized mostly Macintosh computers until late 2011, I'm used to waiting for the games I want to play.

  31. You can transition between areas to generate an autosave, but that is definitely not really a solution. I'm playing the Microsoft Xbox Game Pass version so I can't mod my game, but one of the first "mods" for the game adds options to Supernova that let you fast travel if you wanted or save anywhere. https://www.nexusmods.com/theouterworlds/mods/8?tab=description Mind you this really just seems to be .ini changes from how it reads, so applying needs to lower difficulty levels isn't on the table at the moment. Personally what I find most frustrating about Supernova is that the combat i

  32. Companions are hot garbage in Supernova difficulty, they just die and then you can't do anything to revive them, they are worse than useless. It's insane that even once you're out of combat all you can do is go spit on their corpse or reload. Do two things in a row? You better believe your companion is gonna die, and then you'll have to reload because of course you do. I've mostly enjoyed the game, but it's baffling to me that the game isn't difficult on Supernova, you just can't use companions as... well, companions. Lock them down in the first room of any place you go, or they WILL die.

  34. Wouldn't mind seeing a new game+ option in the game. Considering the amount of dialogue choices and the amount of effort some put it into playing seems like new game+ would fit in nicely and give the game some much needed replay value.

  35. Same problem, can't even play the game because it consistently crashes anywhere from 20-60 seconds after getting out of the crashpod. Updated drivers, no overlays, NOT gamepass version, and have tried various graphics settings. I've had plenty of games with big bugs and instability, but never one that I absolutely could not play right out of the box like this. I also have the 21:9 issues everyone else has. Nvidia GTX 1080Ti, Windows 10, 16 gigs RAM, i7 at 4K, no overclocking, etc.

  38. It looked like things were coming a head when one of the DLC, this one dealing with Wael, popped up after I finally got underway to Eothas. I'm currently in the antechamber, and I am decidedly not impressed. I get the idea of adding some levity to the laste game, but this doesn't seem to fit in well with end game content. Not entirely outside the overall theory, although I don't even like it in that regard. In tone, however, is just dead wrong. The whole meaning and thematic framework of the game appears, at this point, to be upended by this last minute contrivance. I'm actually tempted

So I am relaxing with an IPA, watching him skate after my long and cold bike ride this morning. It's a good Saturday.

  40. I've had the same issue. The quest name is Brave new world. Console freezes and then kicks back to dashboard on xboxone Everytime you try to enter the studio room were the chairman is in the Tartarus prison. Entering the room triggers the crash. Only way to avoid it is to open the door stay outside the room then kill the chairman from outside before entering. Probably a cutscene issue on that area. Most likely when you enter the room a cutscene or something is supposed to trigger but instead it's a crash. Hope they fix it, not everyone reads forums or the web for alternate temp bug fixes.

  41. The consensus seems to be 'install the media feature pack' but my version of windows is not N and the media feature pack is not applicable. I was directed to another version located here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48231 and was able to install it but that did not solve the problem. Is a solution being worked on or am I too far in the margins and just not able to play this game? I've been looking forward to it for months. This is a huge bummer.

Watch the far landscape and clouds. Who in Obsidian team is high on drugs? Please, remove this stupid effect and those stupid guy, who come up with such stupid idea! And add OPTIONAL classic headbob camera animation like in thosands other 1st person games.

  44. The power blackouts in CA inspired me to pick up a project I'd dropped some time ago: making my house energy independent. I've been looking at how to do this for a few years and the solution is actually easy... but expensive and inconvenient. Right now I have two solar panels for a total of 1100' sq. They are connected in series to four 12V lead acid batteries. The whole system in full sun produces 4A to charge the 240AH 48V DC system. That is connected to an inverter. The inverter's output is connected in parallel to the input from the power utility. So the house draws off both sources e

I can open the door fine but when I walk through it crashes. I can't seem to find another way around that I know of. I am on the xbox games pass on pc version. Is there any way to fix this or get around it without crashing since I am kind of stuck here considering they wont let my ship leave.
