Got surgeried on my foot a few hours ago, I was worried it'd be local anaesthesia and I'd be awake, but thankfully they put me under. I say thankfully because the anaesthesiologist had alot of trouble finding the nerves on my thicc muscly thigh which is the one that goes to the area of the surgery, so I have full feeling in the area of the surgery, though I can't for the life of me feel my toes or left side of the foot. Because that nerve was at the kneejoint and was piss easy for them to find. So. Yeah, ow, they gave me alot of oxy, but it's doing bugger all, I had more effect from the sedatives.2 points

Apparently Ubisoft has not just decided to reset the Might and Magic canon to before they acquired the IP from 3DO, but to a point before HoMM4 and MM9 (y'know, when NWC decided to reset everything by exploding the planet).1 point

They tried to get me but my brain was too poisoned for them. The one thing that really made me think about RFK is that aside from the vaccine stuff, he's not really got anything to him. I like to think he was chosen as someone Republican donors thought would peel centrist voters but they are so out of touch they thought anti-vaXXX was a selling point.1 point

I'm sorry to hear that Bartimaeus. On a side note, I don't think it is fair to blame the parasite for RFK Jr.'s oddities.1 point

Given who was funding and working for RFKJR, the big surprise here is that it took this long. I guess Kamala was the big thing that caused it, but as far as I can tell RFKJR was already starting to disappear months before. Kinda funny to humiliate yourself like that to have to beg for a job from a guy known for wanting other men to "get on their knees" for him. Was GD a RFKJR guy? I thought he was a Libertarian Party stalwart?1 point

I said it once and I'll say it again. As a Tori Amos fan. I'm shocked I didn't caught onto Kate Bush quicker since they are so similar. Also Why no wrestler of any stripe that I know uses Tori Amos as a walk out music baffles me. This Slayer cover proves that I would totally have used it if I didn't stop growing at 5'3"1 point

Strange french lady on whatsapp now asked me for photos since "we have been talking for so long but don't really know each other" On an unrelated note, instead of "each other" I typed "eachotehr" which autocorrect tried to change to "tachometer".1 point

I adore Mafia 1, enough to play it with wheels and pedals and cramming myself around them to reach the keyboard and mouse for the shooty bits. I enjoyed Mafia 3, the main character was way more likeable. I still would've prefered the car handling mechanics to be Mafia 1 style, but I'll take it.1 point

Elden Ring done~! I mixed in the DLC, ended up over-leveling (no one told me I was supposed to stop at 150 but that is real), and then steam rolled the rest of the game including Melania, Farum Azula and the final boss beast thing ... c'est la vie! Was about to do NG+ with a different build since my level got pretty high, and was testing some weapons / builds and realized learning an entire new combat playstyle didn't really catch my fancy ... I'm just not a backstep, roll dodger, kill you with status type of person I guess I will admit when I got to "PROMISED CONSORT RADHAN" and the freeze frame with him looking into the camera I had kind of lost interest in the crazy boss fights so YouTubed the trick to beating him to save me a few hours, maybe a full day who knows. He was still tough though even with that, but got him pretty quick. Now to decide on Warhammer 40K Chaos Gate or go back into Pathfinder WOTR now that it is complete and play the DLCs ... Another question: Avowed, Dragon Age Veilguard or Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2? Having mixed feeling on Dragon Age Veilguard and Avowed, but I did get a controller (hence Elden Ring) in case I want to play the new ones coming out ... I am ready. Actually got excited when I heard Avowed had a 3rd person option, that made it more appealing for sure! I could even play Final Fantasy 16 too soon ... omg I feel like I sold my soul to controller games ...1 point

Surgery with local anaesthesia is great, especially when the dosage was off and the effect's fading while the surgeon's still rummaging around your insides and doesn't believe you. I can also recommend stapling highly sensitive parts of your body back together while the numbing effect is all but completely gone. Good times. Well, granted, that was like almost thirty years ago, I'm sure medical tech has improved a lot, but once bitten and all that.1 point

I'm curious to see that one; your description is pretty much what I thought it'd be from the trailer (albeit, without the disapointment!)1 point

Enemies like boars, panthers etc. do use weapons (tusks, claws, antlers...), same as a spiritshifted Druid or a Transmuter (Form of the Fearsome Brute) uses them. They have no 3D model and thus are invisible, but they are game objects that have instances and values and so on. So as long as such enemies are not using ranged attacks or spells/spell-like abilities the dagger modal will work.1 point

Sorry this isn’t too definitive, but I seem to remember similar such effects (like Blade Turning) triggering on non-weapon melee attacks like from beasts or blights however, it won’t work against ranged attacks in melee range. Confusingly, some “melee” attacks are actually ranged attacks with short range, or are spell-like abilities and also won’t work. no easy general rule I don’t think.1 point

Me: "Oh, I remember this song from when I was a little kid." *off-key loud* "SHE WAS BLINDED BY THE LIGHT! WRAPPED UP LIKE A ... dushin? ... ANOTHER ROAMER IN THE NIGHT, BLINDED BY THE LIGHT!" "SHE WAS BLINDED BY THE LIGHT! WRAPPED UP LIKE A ... *du-mumble* ... ANOTHER ROAMER IN THE NIGHT...." Me: "What the heck is he saying anyway? Probably 45 years hollering the 1st phrase but mumbling that one word. The internet exists now..." Me: .... "Oh."1 point

Seems like they are moving from Godfather to The Sicilian. I dig it. Mafia is a curious IP - I adored father original but didn’t care much for the sequels (I am still to play Mafia3). But, Mafia Remake was very good, so I am hopeful they will land this one as well.1 point

Sure but the point Im making is the 2 examples are not the same at all The French Foreign Legion has been around for decades and you need to do 3 years service and then you get a residence permit and nationality is conditional and not guaranteed. But the principle is " after 3 years military service you can become a French citizen " But the French dont lie about what France is with some unconvincing comparison to another country. They dont need to do that because its obvious why anyone would want to become a French citizen This Russian path to citizenship is about Russia suggesting its a "moral and Conservative " country compared to the " liberal and degenerate " West. And thats a complete exaggeration. They even use the word "spiritual " And the truth is every single degeneracy that exists in the West exists in Russia, they just have less freedom and its an autocracy. And of course Russia has laws against LGBT but for me thats not an example of degeneracy, its pure bigotry. And I doubt anyone from a Western country will be conscripted to the Ukrainian meatgrinder, its like the offer to white Afrikaans famers to relocate to Russia. None of them would be conscripted So Putin is trying to create an alternative to the West based on a false narrative, the French Foreign Legion offer isnt the same1 point

I like this game, including how it looks. The graphics look very nice to me, way more attractive than BG3's graphics. And I especially like that the Rook shown in this trailer could easily pass for a South Asian man. About time I had that choice of look for my PC in an RPG!1 point

I don't know man, that sounds like a convenient story that is pushed by big tobacco. "Oh sorry we gave everyone lung cancer, here's a chemical filled robot **** for you all to suck on so you can quit cigarettes. It comes in fun flavors!" https://www.health.harvard.edu/blog/can-vaping-damage-your-lungs-what-we-do-and-dont-know-2019090417734 It sure sounds like we don't have a full grasp on how harmful vaping is long term, and use is skyrocketing by young non-smokers, not just people trying to quit smoking. Sure, it doesn't make all of your stuff smell bad, and hopefully the 2nd-hand effects are a lot less devastating, but it is still harmful chemicals in your lungs. As to them being better than fermented beverages, I'd like to see that study. The reality is most people have a few drinks a week. I doubt you can find many vapers that take a few hits a week, so the amount of consumption s going to be vastly different. Sure, vaping is probably safer than being a full blown alcoholic, but that doesn't mean it compares favorably to having a glass of wine with dinner.1 point

I just completed playing the SoD expansion for BG1ee for the very first time. It was weaksausce and rather lame, especially when in comparison with ToB as the equivalent expansion to BG2. The NPCs were all forgettable, and the multiple times Charname gets screwed over by people who are supposedly his friends/supporters got tiresome real quick. And the huge castle battle was a giant pain in the ass with no fun redeeming value. Beamdog truly sucks. I'm so very glad their Ps:T successor game got canned.0 points
