One hates to be that guy (or do I?) but Sulla actually did resign his Dictatorship too. After rewriting Rome's 'constitution' and slaughtering a bunch of people etc, but he did resign, and retired to his villa to, well, give Tiberius, Caligula, Nero, Commodus and Elagobalus a few ideas for fun ways to pass the time before dying of liver failure; he was after all a well known Conservative politician. The issue wasn't really the office of Dictator, that just gave Sulla (et al) a facade of legality. His authority ultimately descended from the point of a pilum, not from the law. The root issue was that the Marian Reforms had changed the troops in the Roman Army from being small landowners loyal to Rome to being mercenaries loyal to their general. Which had to happen since said small landowners had basically been genocided by a string of impeccably bred incompetents feeding them to various hordes of wandering Germans. In an amazing coincidence a bunch of patricians got to own huge amounts of land after buying up parcels off destitute widows... Anyway, got to give Biden credit for calling it quits; tempered somewhat by it being easier if you're going to lose if you keep running.

finally got to Malenia in Elden Ring, attempting her pushed my total play time over 240 hours, and I have yet to even burn the friggin' tree. at least I'll be ready for the DLC once I get around to trying it.

Nice video. First of all your voice is pleasant and well suited for this - which is really the exception rather than the rule with (not so big) channels. Great! I also like your explanations regarding your thought procress on every class. I do not agree on several things - but I'm able to relate to the decision making. I also enjoyed hearing @thelee's voice for the first time, yay! --- Edit: as I said before somewhere during the initial discussion I would very much like to see a list (or maybe simply a presentation) of the most enjoyable (multi)classes. Like "what makes Deadfire builds fun to play (for you)?" And then maybe assume and speculate what might be fun for other potential players and give arguments why some stuff might be boring (yet powerful) and other stuff might be fun (even if not OP). Maybe that could be a topic that's helpful to new players (especially the ones who don't want to play several runs but prefer to have the most fun with just one playthrough). I mean if the thought processes and reasons "why" would be equally well explained as in this video above it should be nice content, right? It's all subjective of course - but maybe entertaining and helpful nonetheless. Examples: I agree that Barbarians are pretty niche in general - but it also happens to be that Berserker/Helwalker is one of the most enjoyable combos I always come back to for a fun little playthrough. It can be very powerful and especially carries the character very well in the early and mid game, yet is def. not overpowered, it has very effective synergies while it still poses a challange with its downsides. It just makes me hoot and holler when you go against weaker enemies while it's still viable against the bigger ones. Or how a certain Arcane Archer/Chanter can be so incredibly enjoyable and great against single targets and mobs alike - despite having a class like the Ranger in it which usually focuses on the niche of "AC vs. single targets". Yet there's also the very powerful stuff that's still very enjoyable (at least to me) which is the Mortar Monk for example (thought about it when you spoke about Resonant Touch). It's great during he mid game (INT bonus working with the mortars' AoE, Stunning Surge being awesome with mortars etc.) while it's not breaking the game in an unfun way - and when you get the really gamebreaking stuff like Whipers of the Wind + Resonant Touch + mortars' multi AoE... well it's the endgame and I think one can be allowed a little OP for the last few hours. Or the Psion/Troubadour which combines two very powerful classes into a very fun and powerful enough experience (when you focus on spamming different CC and damage options without pause) or into a potentially boring one which is gamebreakingly good (focus on summons and mind control). You already adressed it in the video above: that using very powerful stuff can be boring... but I think this topic deserves its own video. Because it's a very complex topic and highly subjective - and because a lot of people enjoy different things. I think this could lead to good engagement with viewers and also fruitful discussions. I also think this point rarely gets the attention it deserves. After all it's a game and is usually played for fun. So imo the most enjoyable characters are the most "powerful" when it comes to serving the purpose of a game so to speak. Anyway, excuse my ramblings: again - nice video.

This week our PM lead went on vacation and I was acting lead. We had 4 production incidents this week... They ranged from a random piece of old code that started producing issues without any reason, to our dev ops deleting our cron job server. Suffice to say, my working days this week were averaging to around 12 hours... Well if nothing else it was a learning experience.

We had a supposedly critical server go down. Then we checked and found the process the server is hosting hasn't been working for 2 weeks and our clients have not raised anything. Amazing we get paid for this.

I just come by to check on this forum once in a while, and I am so glad that Boeroer is still helping others here.

Front and side 6 are intake and 4 going out at the top and rear. I put the exhaust on top since heat rises that direction

Also down the list they complain about "Marxist indoctrination" Not replacing the SAT, just want to give high schoolers the ASVAB to help with recruitment. Only public schools though. From what I've read over the years, people in the US don't want to enlist as the job sucks so to speak.

Weather being what it is, reinstalled Skyrim. Made a couple builds to roleplay someone other than stealthy archer who's a vampire werewolf fighter Arch-mage of thieves guild (though you'd have to pry kleptomania-for-everyone trait from my dead sticky fingers, that's one thing I'm not ready to not roleplay). Learning new things, such as how to kite when you play a mage. Anyways, there is a lot of things to do in Skyrim, but I'll have Cryostasis and Frostpunk queued in case hell-on-earth season lasts longer.

I think the purpose of a fighter/caster multi and monk/caster multi is just different. The monk/caster is primarily trying to buff up their spells with the monk self-buffs to Int/Dex/Might/Accuracy and generally does not do that many monk things while the fighter/caster multi is actually trying to be a fighter and tank while casting. Also positionally some caster abilities that hit a cone or a radius around the caster benefit by being on a character that can stay right in front of the enemies and take hits without a problem. For the Cipher multiclass though Transcendant is amazingly strong and has better synergy than Psyblade. But I would say Cleric (and single-class priest) > Contemplative. For Wizard/Chanter/Druid, fighter and monk have pretty balanced pros and cons as multiclasses in my eyes.

Pursuer down, and to my surprise on a first try. And it happened at the elevated platform next to the exploded wall. I have summoned the shade behind the door locked by Soldier’s Key, and cleared the area, before climbing the ladder. The funny thing is, that soon after the start of the fight Pursuer knocked him down and he was not able to find a path back to ladder so I had to finish around 70% of his HP alone. It was anything, but walk in the park, the only thing, which saved my ass was higher level and Old Knight armour chest piece, which soaked a lot of damage. But, I have to admit, this platform gives much better opportunity to defend agains the Pursuer compared to his arena, due to being bigger. The downside is, that it is easy to drop down, if you are not watching the surrounding. In the end, it was a good decision to leave this boss for a later time, after clearing No-man’s Wharf. The extra levels and gear helped me a lot. Next in line will be the Ornstein Cosplayer, whose name I can’t remember now Of course, first I have to get through the big dragon guarding the cathedral, which might be also an issue for me In that case, I will have to go to Skeleton Lords or Ruin Sentinels. I sucked big time in vanilla DS2 at Sentinels and even bigger time at getting through trash mobs before the Lords. So I am not looking much forward to my next play sessions 16 wipes after 9 hours of playtime.

Yes. They do stack their effects. Indeed - it does work like that. It's a very good combo of spells - especially because both spells as a combination can be accessed so early (tiers 1 and 2). A similarly great combination with Combusting Wounds is to use Kalakoth's Minor Blights and combine it with the Blast talent. You will produce a lot of individual attack rolls (Blights' projectiles have their own AoE - and every hit in that AoE will trigger a Blast AoE) which will all trigger Combusting Wounds.

I've just received an answer by Obsidian. They are already aware of this issue, which is affecting many people, and will address it in their new patch - which they don't know when will be released, but still.

My father passed away today around 630. I've had to make all the calls letting folks know he's gone and am now finally trying to process things. Back in March, my dad was given at best a few weeks to live. He stuck it out for over four months and fought like hell to stay around for his family, even on death's door cared more about my mom and I than he did himself. I'm gonna miss him but seeing how hard it was for him near the end.....I don't know, it was a tough way to live and I think he would be relieved to not have struggle anymore. Regardless it's going to be a **** week.

Well, Project 2025 is kind of wacko - I still am puzzled as to what giving public school kids the ASVAB is supposed to really accomplish - so that's what people are concerned about it. Given Trump is an inveterate liar, people discount his denials, which makes sense. Remember, all he has to do is get votes, once he's in, no backsies.
