  1. That does not mean anything. For example in Finland we have currently in government an anti-immigration, anti-EU, formerly pro Russian, traditional family values party, who had member in EU parliament that demanded that all immigrants regardless of their background needs to be deported. He himself is married to immigrant from south america. Party eventually kicked him out because he was too pro immigrant. In recent European parliament elections same party's member that got highest vote count is gay man who is married to immigrant from africa, which does not prevent him from advocating deportation of all immigrats and making gay marriage illegal. So personal lives of the politicians don't tell anything about what kind policies they will try to enable

  2. Thanks a lot for your answer! Looks like adding Icons won't be as easy as I thought, but I could still try to do something eventually Windows 11 Version 10.0.22631 Build 22631 and Firefox Version 10.0.22631 Build 22631, so nothing too out of the ordinary. Could be something to do with my own configuration honestly! I'm excited to see what the next updates will be like, this tool is already incredible! Having tried to delve into modifying texts and dialogues in PoE 1, something like Apotheosis is a game changer! Modding PoE 2 looks like it will be much easier.

  4. So according to BruceVC logic the GOP is also in favour of abortion because some republicans, or their daughters, or their wives or their mistresses have had abortions. https://joycearthur.com/abortion/the-only-moral-abortion-is-my-abortion/ I mean who cares if the policies they actively support are openly against the LGBTQ population, the immigrant population, the population of colour? What matters is that they have a friend who once watched RuPaul's drag race.

  5. I hope I'm not reviving too old a thread here, but I had a few questions about Apotheosis and don't really know where to ask! So first of all: Where are the icons located for the backgrounds, dispositions and such? There's a path shown, and it seemed to be the one you need to make in your mod folder, but I'd like to take a look at the icons to make them fit in term of style/color and that's a bit hard to make otherwise. Second: At some point I tried to create a custom background to do a few tests, and noticed I had no options to delete it. I tried what I could think of, Del key, right click, etc, but nothing seemed to work. Have I missed something or is there no way to delete something you added? Finally, when I click the "Help" button, it crashes the app! I don't know if that's the intended use or not haha. Anyway, hope everyone is having a nice day and that I'm not bothering anyone!

  6. This week our PM lead went on vacation and I was acting lead. We had 4 production incidents this week... They ranged from a random piece of old code that started producing issues without any reason, to our dev ops deleting our cron job server. Suffice to say, my working days this week were averaging to around 12 hours... Well if nothing else it was a learning experience.

  8. I did beat him in melee and I would not say that my reflexes are particularly good. On the successful attempt, I remember eating a brightbug (?) and him staying in the first phase until ~30%HP. --- Cookie Cutter. Spent about an hour on a platforming section with a lot insta-killing spikes only to discover that it was optional. I also think that the earlier levels did not have the collision boxes for the projectiles, rather than all projectiles passing though walls.

  10. I can't for the life of me find where it is located but I'm pretty sure Background and Culture icons are stored in a sprite atlas somewhere. I know I have stumbled upon it at various points whilst searching through assetbundles for something else. Frustratingly I never made a note of where! The only other evidence I have for its existence is there being a version of it uploaded to the PoE2 wiki: https://pillarsofeternity.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Pillars_of_Eternity_II:_Deadfire_images_-_Interface?file=Poe2_GameSystemIcons.png If that is indeed the case I think that would make additions to it not possible with the override folder sadly

  11. Hi, this is the right place to ask! Also good timing, I've been working on some updates these last weeks and can take a look at your issues as well Icons in general are baked into one of the .unity3d or .assets files in ...\PillarsOfEternityII_Data\*.assets ...\PillarsOfEternityII_Data\assetbundles\*.unity3d I've been using this tool: https://github.com/Perfare/AssetStudio to view & extract them. Background icons specifically can be found in: ...\PillarsOfEternityII_Data\resources.assets @Kvellen has had success replacing loading screen images, maybe a similar method could be used to override/add new background icons? Yeah this is functionality I really should add There's no way to do it currently, you'll have to open the mod's .gamedatabundle and remove the json manually. Sorry. I also want to add some way to compare and revert individual changes made by a mod. Ops, absolutely not intended. It's meant to open the wiki https://gitlab.com/noqn/apotheosis/-/wikis/home May I ask what's your OS & web browser? Anyhow, I'll change the method for opening the browser...

  12. I am planning to start DS2:SotFS playthrough, but I am still considering what build should I go for. How hard is it to defeat Fume Knight with melee? My reaction time is not, what it used to be, so melee will bring me some troubles. Is there a chance for a guy with bad reflexes to beat him, or should I go for Hexes right away?

  13. The comparison is justified, considering the wide adoption of the software and the encouragement of frequent and fast deployment at the cost of thorough testing (I'd like to note that in the case of the antivirus software specifically, it might be reasonable). But hey, the planes do not fall often, so it is probably will not happen under the CEO making the decision, while the profit will definitely go up. /s I have read a rather curious theory (i.e. not a fact) that the current business education leads to these issues, where the short-term profits are preferred to the long-term sustainability.

  15. It sounds quite appealing. I stopped my Nehrim playthrough after the first battle on the ship - was not looking forward to more TES combat at the time. --- Cookie Cutter. Reached the mid-game. The wall-passing projectiles and foes became less irritating, though now insta-killing spikes appeared. I was able to defeat 1 boss on the first attempt by parrying only, then there was a pair of bosses - one was slow melee, with a parryable attack that would be one-hit kill if not for my HP upgrades, the other was a more agile shooter, with the bullets, unfortunately, not being possible to parry with bare fists (i.e. at all). So, they took quite a few attempts. I asked on the Steam forum and was told that there is only one ending, but the game is quite enjoyable as is. Also, the map is helpful for exploration, with the obstacles and collectibles marked. The hidden areas, though, require punching random walls. --- Mail Time. It is a very easy platformer about a fantasy delivery person. I like the character customisation, the graphics, and the movement, though the controls are not rebindable. The only possible challenge is figuring out how to reach some of the quest items. The game does not have combat and I don't think that it has any fail state. I've got it in a bundle on Fanatical, so my expectations were not high, but the game is quite nice.

  17. Played a little bit of RealRTCW. I loved the original Return to Castle Wolfenstein so this is a great way to replay the game. It also adds coop to the game but I haven't tried that yet. Also playing Skyrim on the PS5. Looks great and plays great. My dark elf warrior/mage destroys everything in its path.

  20. --On the one hand: haven't played it in a long while, this is a massive world/everything generation update! Exploration might be fun/feel new again for a while! (new ships/space station designs in earlier updates I didn't care one whit about) --On the other hand: probably a 20% chance any old saves and their main bases are broken (misshaped, half deleted, underground, whatever) by planet generation changes under your feet. Your fave planet could be entirely different/a different biome all of a sudden, stuff like that. If hit by that, one has to deal with, or just write those saves off (which would include your ships, freighters, collections) and start anew. ---either performance fix patches will be incoming, or might need a 4080 to run it at 4k. Might give an idea how Light No Fire might run tho. ---And do I try to preserve my install of older version of game to play it totally Offline if I can't stand/run this new version? More work. Sigh. I'll think about it for the weekend. But it looks nice!

  22. Yeah, I had a lot of complaints, especially about the first game which didn't even have a manual save. Like, you can't figure out how to do a manual save? I always wanted someone like Obs to tackle Shadowrun, especially after they got acquired by the license holder, but it doesn't seem to be in the cards.

  23. Nehrim - I never enjoyed the TES style first person RPGs before, but SureAI's excellent worldbuilding enables me to overlook the twitchy combat, which gives me new hope for Avowed too. SPOILER: On a side note, it's interesting how closely the central narrative premise was mirrored by that of PoE. Gods which rule over society through magic so advanced it is indistinguishable from miracles and by camouflaging their mortal origins... I guess they may have both taken inspiration from The Lord of Light?

  24. That's what I like about V Rising, it's a really good ARPG combat system on top of a really good survival game. It's the one survival game I keep coming back to, I've had the most fun with it out of all survival games that have come out in the last 3-4 years, beats Valheim for sure. OK, I have never played any DS, but I have 40 hours in Sekiro on PC, and 2 hours in Bloodborne on PS4. Played Elden Ring when it came out for about 100 hours on mouse + kb, reinstalled this week to try with a controller, played for 2 hours, beat 2 bosses, slowly getting back into it. Anyway, I just couldn't play it with the default M+KB scheme, I kept pressing the wrong buttons due to thousands of hours playing various ARPGs. After rebinding all of the keys it became playable, and I actually found one thing that beats controllers any time: camera control - you don't even need to lock onto enemies it's so precise, and not locking onto some enemies actually gives you an advantage. Now playing with a controller camera movement is the one thing I am having trouble with, really hard to orient myself without locking onto enemies, and combat becomes messy against groups of enemies. People do get used to it, so my advice would be to stick to what you're more comfortable with and building up some muscle memory. One tip I'll give you that really saved me regardless of what input device you'd want to use: there are many UI interactions that aren't explained in the game at all but they make combat much more enjoyable, and I'd suggest you looked them up. For example, the item quickbar in the left bottom corner has two sets you can switch between by holding down the "Interact" button. So you effectively have extra 4 slots for consumables that are easily accessible without having to scroll through them. I have only my healing flask in the default slot, so I cannot skip through it accidentally, and the consumable button always heals no matter what. The mana flask, the mount, the summoning bell etc. - all are on the second layer of slots, all having their dedicated buttons, this setup greatly helped me with my combat flow.

  27. The socially ingrained pursuit of happiness instead of contentness is relatively new, and with so many things, was driven by corporate greed. If people would be content with being, well, content, then what's the point of buying ever more stuff? Imagine people just buying whatever they actually need to live out their lives, the economy would collapse. There's a surprising number of things we take for granted that were invented and had the need for it manufactured after the fact, by commercials and therefore commercial interests. When Edna Murphey invented the first deodorant, mankind had survived for hundreds of thousands of years without it. Nobody needed a deodorant. Nowadays, after a century of dedicated marketing left us with the impression that body odor is bad, can you imagine a world without deodorant? In German, we have an idiom for finding someone intolerable, that literally translates to not being able to stand their smell. It makes no sense in modern parlance, as humans basically stopped having much of a smell, unlike in times past, where this had a very literal meaning. You found someone's actual smell disagreeable, so you did not like having them around. Anyone who is content with their lives please realize that this is perfectly fine.

  32. Right now we're in the eye of the storm so it's calm and it looks like the rebound isn't going to be too much. All things considered the very intense thunderstorm we had two months ago did more damage to the area I'm in. There's still a chance of flooding so I'm hunkering down for the day. Good opportunity to watch a movie or finally start my Lich run.

  33. Waiting until the finished product with that one. Fallen Aces Full Episode 1 is out on Friday already, though! This may be generally filed under "Boomer Shooter" some. But there was more going on in the fun demo already, and the dev has confirmed the influences anyway... - Fairly open level design, including optionally stealthily routes - Optional stealth that works fairly decent - Quite interactive environments and everything not bolted down being usable as a tool/weapon - In-universe maps, Thief-style, BABY! Whatever the price, this is an offer I'm not going to refuse. Indie gaming is where the new triple-A fun is to be had.
