  1. So. Much. Moving. I miss the days in college where I could pack all of my belongings into a compact car. Getting married and having kids comes with a lot of baggage. That being said, the new house is great. My fridge communicates with me now and can tell me when the kids leave the door open too long. I'm exhausted.

  3. I have to do that some day as well. Shortly after I have purchased it on a release day, I played it a lot, but at some point, I just ended up playing Pazaak all day long, and then some new games have been released, so I’ve never actually finished it

  6. The key systems, the narrative style, and plot-points are somehow too similar to D:OS2 (also, most battles were possible to "cheese" there). If the worse aspects were improved (the game spent years in EA with them present), it would be preferable. Larian did decrease the amount of environmental features (everything is not on fire all the time), but there is still no pause, the inventory and party management are awful, the party members sound like someone's first PCs, the lore does not work well with D&D or BG1/2, the final choice between two obviously Evil NPCs, etc.

  8. I don't think sales are an indicator of quality, most Bethesda games sell extremely well but they're half-baked piles of **** that crash every 15 minutes. Sales matter for a business perspective but on our end as players it seems weird to be obsessing over them, the experience you had playing a game isn't going to be impacted by how many other people bought it. Unfortunately for BG3 enjoyers, it selling well isn't going to necessarily mean that you get more BG3s. As much as I'd like to see Sawyer's PoE3, a AAA Pathfinder game, a AAA Shadowrun, etc. I think "Star Trek with a crew that ****s" or "LotR with waifus" is as likely a beeg studio response to BG3, perhaps moreso. I think we're going to see a BG4, whether by Larian or someone else. I'd hope that if Larian doesn't do it that we'd get something similar to Kotor 2 (but finished properly) or NWN2....MotB, but we won't know until it's out.

  9. Started Black Geyser. Increased the World Greed by 1 by accepting a side quest reward. Then had killing a non-hostile fox as the main quest objective, so stopped there. Started Serpent in the Staglands. Spent 2 hours slaughtering the aggressive wildlife and 3 bandits in the starting area. The game looks very nice otherwise (like BG1). The PC is the Moon God trapped outside of their domain and seeking to return there. Can't say that I understand the gameplay systems well, but clicking LMB on the red-outlined NPCs gives XP and the text notes as inventory items have different descriptions and content. Found 2 manuals on the official site. Finished Grime. The setting and the trait system (available after parry-killing some number of a specific enemy type; e.g. healing 4% HP on hit or increasing the damage after pulling) seem unique, though the difficulty spike (caused by not utilising the above-mentioned system) mid-game was unpleasant. I would say that multi-stage boss battles usually are more engaging, but not when the moveset changes too significantly and every major boss has at least 2 stages. Not sure if the starting sword/axe was the most effective melee weapon, but looked like it (some traits increase the damage regardless of the stat scaling, making the stat investment irrelevant; others scale with the stats). The final platforming sequence was fine. There are NG+ and boss rush modes, but I am going to skip them (the NG+ exclusive boss battle was rather painful to watch on YouTube).

  11. Bought some nice candy from lakrits.se that got delivered to me today, svenskjävlar are delicious as always, but I was quite dissapointed in the hot svenskjävlar, liquorice and salmiak cream surrounded by salmiakliquorice, salmiak, caramellized white chocolate, strawberries and carolina reaper. It didn't mix really well, but I'm going to have to try them again when I have less coffee taste in my mouth. They were really hot though

  12. Report from Avdiyivka frontline, Dmitri has in other tweet also a link to the source (if younknow Russian language). Interesting is, that it’s circulating on Russian telegrams a lot, also another interesting thing is a news, that UA destroyed troops deep in Donbas which were meant to reinforce the meat grinder, which was not reported so far by UA side.

  13. Hi, thanks for your questions, I'll do my best to answer If you right-click the topmost row in the tree view, you can select "Add Component..." and add any valid components. If you expand AttackBase row and right-click e.g. AttackBeam, you get to create a gamedata of that type instead. No, but that sounds like a good feature! Like getting a full list of other objects that reference a specific StatusEffect, or just which data types that can reference StatusEffects? If it's the latter, try searching the official documentation pages for Components and Structures, then manually Ctrl+F for "StatusEffectGameData". If it's the former, it's a feature that would be very useful but isn't available. For now, the closest thing is querying for a specific data type that may refer to a specific StatusEffect and see if that matches, for example: #GenericAbility.StatusEffects[*]=LAX02_Food_Ekkevit_SE_Hangover ^ will display abilities that contain your status effect Ooooh, it makes me very happy that someone is getting use of the use script functions! This script should do the trick, just replace the contents of the SubclassPairs: https://gitlab.com/noqn/apotheosis-user-scripts/-/blob/main/swap_subclass_checks.cs (Note that IsPaladinOrder or IsDeity are used in some conversations instead of the HasSubclass conditional. In case you specifically want to replace Paladin/Priest subclass checks, you would have to edit this script to properly replace those checks too.) Yeah I saw your thread, I briefly checked the decompiled code with dnSpy to see how it's implemented, but didn't get any answers from what I looked at. Anyhow, my guess is that it's hardcoded so that only Custom1 shows up. No, but that would be a good feature. I've considered a data view where you get to visualize all mod files of the current mod, get to see exactly which changes those files make, compare the changes with vanilla/dependent mod values, etc. Some kind of JSON preview would be a good thing on top of that (and really nice as a separate feature regardless). If you create a BaseProgressionTableAppend object, you'll only have the option to add new abilities to the referenced table, not edit ones that already exist in it. The advantage is that it will be fully compatible with other mods that edit the same table, so I highly recommend it if you only need to add new stuff. Editing the CharacterProgressionTable or ClassProgressionTable objects directly will however allow you to edit the existing abilities, at the cost of overriding/getting overriden by all other mods that edit the same table. (I might've misunderstood this question, let me know if that's the case.) Hm, this might be tricky, don't know if there're any vanilla spells that only trigger once like that. Something like this for finding StatusEffects which trigger on a spell attack at least: #StatusEffect{AttackFilter.Source=Spell && EventValue=OnLaunchesAttack} I think if you edit the ApplicationPrerequisites of the StatusEffect you might be able to achieve that (though testing may be required): HasStatusEffect(Target, Your_SE_here)

  14. I have been using Apotheosis for the past months and although I have familiarised myself, there some things I need help or clarification with: Is there a way to add components to abilities or attacks such as AuraAbilityComponent or AOEComponent without duplicating and modifying existing files that already have them? New attacks always use AttackBaseGameData, is there a way on creation to specify which GameData to use instead? Is there a way to highlight or list modified files when opening mods in the editor and include value changes? Is there a way to find out where status effects are referenced? I am trying to write a user script that goes through all conversations and replace conditions containing a specific subclass and replace them with a specific ability. How can I achieve this? Rangers, Chanters and Druids uses custom1 category for animal companions, phrases and spirtshifts. I tried adding custom2 and custom3 categories to ClassProgressionTableComponent, but for some reason they do not appear ingame. Is this a game limitation or is this something I am missing? I am currently extracting gamedatas in text files and comparing them in visual code. Is there a built-in compare select in the editor? Can BaseProgressionTables include modified abilities or new abilities only? Can you provide a search query example for searching status effects that trigger once on the next spell attack? Can status effects trigger on targets with specific status effects or is it limited to keywords?

  16. @BruceVC Neocore said I should tell you the King Arthur turn based tactics game is 40% off. They said "tell friends and loved ones". To which I replied "don't have those". To which they replied "well what ya got?" To which I replied "dunno? A Bruce on the obsidian forum?" To which they replied "That'll do. Tell him."* *Discussion may not have happened like this.** ** or at all

  17. More children have been killed by the IDF in three weeks than in all other conflicts combined since 2019, per Save the Children. IDF attack on Reuters reporter in Lebanon was deliberate and followed established pattern, per RSF. Also deliberate campaign to target journalists- and their families- in Gaza. IDF says to evacuate along road, sticks tank there and fires at civilian vehicles, geoconfirmed by BBC. Not surprising they wanted to keep the phone/ internet blackout going really. Guess we won't get the moral outrage for the brown people with funny religions though, unlike similar events in Ukraine which got played over and over. More likely to get told how sad it made the Israeli crew feel, how they were forced into it and how that makes it a Hamas war crime. IDF is most moral army in the world and everyone should unite to fight the barbarians, says modern day Gaiseric.

  18. Blizzard logic: Enemies can have a suppression field. Meaning that all damage coming from outside the field is negated. You need to attack or cast from within the field to do damage. Now, with certain gear the ball lightning spell rotates around you, and that is pretty hilarious because the damage that can put out once you break past a certain gear threshold (i.e. once you have enough gear to support chain casting a spell that normally costs half your mana). However, when you teleport into the supression field, all your orbiting ball lightnings disappear. Because, well, they were cast outside the suppression field. Can't blame the game for working that way, after all, it is doing exactly what it was programmed to do. Anyway, build is so busted powerful it breaks game mechanics to the point they become a joke. Can completely skip boss phases.

  19. I don't why it would be moot. Game might sell, but it is still ****. If anything high sales would reinforce the narrative of BG3 shortcomings. Why it is impossible for a good game to sell well, it is also rather uncommon. While that is a conclusion a publisher might take, and they would totally rush a half-baked BG4 to cash in (like Dragon Age2, after DA1), I am not sure if Larian would take that route. Before that making BG3 might have been an odd choice, instead of making D:OS2. And D&D and BG IP definitely brought attention to the project, I am doubtful that people who enjoyed the game, enjoyed it because it was D&D and Forgotten Realms. If Larian were to make another super RPG (which according to Sven isn't going to happen) and would once again reuse D:OS2/BG3 formula one could argue that they should move to new IP to keeps things fresh. Sins are harder to forget 2nd time around, and I am sure all the new players that came to Larian would be less forgiving if they played the same game, with the same faults for a 2nd time. The only take away I would make, is that cRPG can have mass appeal, if they have enough budget behind them. But thats nothing I didn't knew about, and I still doubt it is good enough return for money for other publishers go into this direction. edit. I am being, of course, overly negative. BG3 is ok. Combat is passable, narrative is passable until late 3rd act. Visuals are impressive considering the scale, but lack in artistic intent and consistency. It's good enough time to warrant a playthrough, and a really good value for money. Your usual "good" AAA, a lot of flash, little substance: 3/5

  21. Shoigu has made a statement with a newish flavor in it. Whether it means anything, I don't know, but I doubt it. Here it is, as reported by The Guardian: "Russian defence minister Sergei Shoigu has spoken at a Beijing defence forum on Monday, claiming that Moscow was ready for talks on the post-conflict settlement of the Ukraine crisis, and on further 'coexistence' with the west, but that western countries needed to stop seeking Russia’s strategic defeat. The conditions for talks had not yet been met, he said." The fact that he insists on the west stopping to seek Russia's strategic defeat implies, to me, that Russia is seriously worried, but that may not be the case, nor Shoigu's intention: I'd like to know Russian so that I'd be able to tell what he's actually said.
