I don't think it does, actually. Yes, the Sakura cards have the terrible anime girls, but at least they have novel color design and...well, honestly, I just think the 3D furry demon dog thing is worse than the anime girls. This is the worst graphic design I've ever seen on a PC component...so far.2 points

About 62% through Saints Row apparently, though it feels I am farther along due to side content. Overall I like it. It has lost some of its grotesque charm. But to be honest, if strippers everywhere were the only thing to make Saints Row (3) attractive, then people should probably play p0rn games instead. Or any Bethesda game with mods. When ignoring the sanitized tone and sometimes best-friends-squad attitude of the Saints, it may actually be the Saints Row with the most stuff to do and the most meaningful side stuff to do. The story is what it is: You are a psychotic murder machine who moved to Santo Ilesso (not Vegas), a city in the desert with casinos, grand canyon style geology and a rich history of ufo sightings, werewolf hunters and other fun facts the Santo Ilesso tourism board will be happy to inform you about - Keep It Strange Santo! As your criminal aspirations didn't pan out when you first moved there, you ended up sharing an apartment with three friends, Neenah (studied art history only to find out she now had a useless degree she couldn't get a job with, so works as a mechanic for Los Panteros -a gang into street racing, monster trucks and anything cars), Kevin (influencer, DJ, social butterfly with more EXs than Shaundi, often partying with the Idols - an anarchist Burning Man collective) and Elija (wannabe entrepreneur who listens to motivational podcasts) so you can split rent. Since all of you are basically jobless, you end up doing random small crimes to pay for your expenses and once a month you rob the odd loan shark (a victimless crime) to make rent. Things look up when you get a new job at Marshal, a private military contractor (among other things), who basically has become the city's main investor after Ultor went bankrupt (not unaffected by the Red Faction miners' strike). Queue: the intro/tutorial your first day on the job at Marshal. Things get a bit out of hand fast, and the delicate balance of Santo Ilesso goes boom. You end up with Marshal, Panteros and the Idols having it out for you and in turn your friends. So you do what any self respecting psycho would do: Just without the hookers, because this is the new Saints Row. The sanitized, respectful one. And that is when the game proper starts. The city is, as always, split into districts, but instead of taking them over by completing all side activities, you build shady businesses in them. These business ventures then unlock new side activities. For example the Shady Oaks clinic is the facade for your insurance scams. Bright Future is a toxic waste dump, where you can drive trucks with green good, get paid by companies for taking care of their waste, then blackmail them for keeping quiet about it. Some ventures, like the two mentioned, will have these activities repeatable. Others, like the Chalupacabra Food Truck company, which has you taking over the drug trade, are done when they are done. Other side activities are classified as Side Hustles, where you basically do odd jobs for npcs, like making deliveries, or blowing up cell towers of rival telecommunication companies. The nice thing is that they made all activities have a point, not just be random stuff you do. Even the good ole kill loads of people activity is a side hustle where you leave bad reviews at establishments the specific enemies frequent. But, the different tone, the departure from the provocative NSFW theme, will make returning players go "This ain't no Saints Row". Which is a shame, as it may be the best "Saints Row". And the boss still kinda is the boss. Your plans seem to still involve shooting everyone or something something something we win.2 points

lordy. improbable, but as far as we could tell, there were not a single example of government censorship offered after more than 3.5 hours. we watched the whole thing yesterday. First Amendment applies to government limits. doesn't apply to private publishers or platforms in part 'cause those publishers also have free speech rights. furthermore, the government isn't required to provide a platform to a guy just 'cause his name happens to be kennedy. whiney nepo baby. rfk jr mentions First Amendment, but there were no First Amendment issue found. we also learned that rfk thinks that disagreement with his opinions, by means o' "targeted propaganda" (rfk jr. thinks the use o' direct quotes and uncomfortable facts is targeted propaganda) or labels with which he dislikes equals censorship. at ~4:00 o' rfk jr. opening statement he marvels that he has been called an anti-vaxxer. *gasp* moving on... we also discovered rfk jr has a fundamental misunderstanding o' more english words than "censorship," 'cause he also believes recommendation= mandate. however, am gonna observe we were shocked it took rfk jr more than two minutes (but less than 2:30) to mention his father and jfk. uncharacteristic restraint. rare does it take rfk jr so long to mention bobby or jack. ... washington dc is the one place on earth where clown shows elicit almost no laughs and regular last more than three hours. edit: most o' rfk jr bs "facts" regarding covid and vaccines is stuff he has repeated before. here is a few months remote video for anybody who is curious 'bout a quick fact checking o' claims, many which were repeated during the hearing. rfk jr. knows he is spewing bad data 'cause he has been corrected numerous times but he continues to do so. HA! Good Fun!2 points

Here's an argument you might understand: 2D anime girl > 3D furry dog demon ...Although, gosh, I'm looking over these Yeston cards again, and some of said anime girls are more embarrassing than others. But here's my final argument: if you only present the anime-less side of the Yeston card to somebody, it can actually look pretty sweet; no such luck with the dog card. ...Though, unfortunately, if it's actually currently being used in your PC, I do believe the anime side is the one likely being presented to your friends and family, who have now abandoned you out of fear and shame.1 point

Hello! Forgive me if this text is a bit of a structural mess, I wrote it while having breakfast with three howling kids. I was on the phone so there will be weird typos, too. Here we go: The Debonaire cannot engage (at all - that also means no Persistent Distraction which is a great Rogue ability for melee chars. You can pick it but it will do nothing - a trap if you will) and has disadvantages if he's facing melee opponents when no allies are nearby. So using that subclass for a dedicated melee character is a suboptimal approach imo. It's better for a reach weapon or (short) ranged weapon setup. Nevertheless: it's doable - and if it's more about RP vibes than power gaming it will be okay I guess. I personally would pick Trickster/Beguiler. Beguilers do get focus from casting Deception spells, but they also keep the ability to get focus via weapon dmg. The restriction that this only works if the target is afflicted is a non-factor: even if enemies have 0 affliction before you cast a deception on them you will get focus because the affliction of the deception spell itself will be applied first before this "does he get focus?" check is made. So you always get focus from Deception spells if you hit with them properly. And stuff like Persistent Distraction immediately unlocks the focus gain in melee, too. During actual playthroughs with a Beguiler - where you would start with a Deception like Phantom Foes and Secret Horrors anyway - I didn't have any issues where I didn't generate focus. Not once (that I noticed). Thus, the Beguiler is an excellent cipher subclass. Trickster is excellent for melee chars because it's a great combo of defense (via self buffs such as Mirrored Images) and offense (Sneak Attack and so on). The lower Sneak Attack makes almost no difference because it's only a 10% malus which stays that way even though Sneak Attack itself scales with Power Level. So while you level up the little malus becomes less and less noticable compared to the scaling bonus you'll get. For melee combat one could also consider a Soulblade/Trickster (or Debonaire). Nothing prevents Soulblades from casting Deception spells etc. - but on top they get a very potent melee attack which is Soul Annihilation and which profits from Sneak Attack, Deathblows and also crit dmg bonus. From the powergamer's perspective Tricksters/Soulblade is a very appealing combo. Seeker's Fang is exceptionally great with a Cipher because the soulbound-enchantment that adds the DoT is very powerful. Comes late - but once you get it I would stick to it. Rännig's Wrath is great. Imo overall the best rapier (if you factor in that it comes early). I would use it until I get Seeker's Fang (which will be very late). Once you get Seeker's Fang and soulbind it, it will ask which class you want to bind it to. This will be binding (pun intended) and you could only change that by severing the soulbind and bind+level up anew - ugh). So pick the Cipher route! It's best. The DoT works incredibly well as I said and your questions about it can be answered with: don't worry, it works on hit and crit, it stacks and it's awesome. Debonaire/Cipher problems again - or rather pure Cipher problems: If you hit charmed enemies (with Deception or weapon) you will not get any focus(!). But Aspect of the Spider and all other weapon stuff will still apply even to charmed enemies (or party members and other allies). Rogue's DoT attacks (Ring the Bell, Gouging Strike, Toxic Strike) stack with the Fang's DoTs and this melts away any foe in no time. For the second weapon I'd recommend one set with a Dagger (look at Marux Amanth, you can bind it to your Rogue class) or Lover's Embrace. The Frenzy from Lover's Embrace stacks with everything by the way - so it can make you noticably faster. The other set can be stiletto like Rust's. It's a great weapon in general but it's true that the pierce dmg can be limiting at times. It's not that hard to get it with a full party. Especially if you use stuff like Gouging Strike and Lover's Embrace against dear Rust from stealth and in the following battle in the cave have charm and dominate... Just switch the weapon set if you encounter certain resistant enemies. As you might know in Deadfire underpenetration is a severe, severe problem for your dmg output. Much more crippling than it was in PoE. So make sure that your Penetration is always equal or better than the enemies' armor rating - else your dmg will be ridiculously low. You can witness that against certain enemies sich as Steelclad Constructs etc. For style I would say use one set Rännig's Wrath + Rust's and the backup set could be Griffin's Blade (looks flashy like a Rapier but is a sword) + Lover's Embrace? Something else - there's another problem I recalled: charmed enemies flip back to hostile. So in general it's better to dominate them instead - I mean if want to attack them during the mind control phase. Debonaire (if you pick that) won't get crit conversion against dominated enemies(!). Only charmed ones work. That means: on one hand you will almost always land a crit on a charmed enemy - but on the other hand it will flip back to hostile immediately. Why would one want to trade one of the best CC effect in the game (turn a hostile entity into an ally) for a little bit of additional weapon damage - without even getting focus for that? That's another reason why on paper Debonaire/Cipher sounds great but mechanically I'm only lukewarm about it, especially a melee variant who wants to land melee crits. It's hunting crits nicely (with a lot of micromanagement I must say) - but this tactic is actually detrimental to your party's overall performance - compared to just leave the enemy charmed as long as possible. You could only attack charmed enemies who are about to flip back anyway (duration's up) bit that adds even more micromanagement and becomes rather tedious (speaking from experience). Ah, one good thing: One nice synergy about Debonaire/Cipher is charm + Disintegration (or Soul Ignition). Suffering those pure DoT spells doesn't flip charmed enemies back! Because it's not a real direct damage attack but instead a "status effect". The game doesn't trigger the "hey, that charming dude hurt me - so I'm gonna be hostile again" check. Crits are benefical for pure DoTs, too - so that's a synergy. I'm not questioning the preferences you deducted from that - but looking at that passage: don't you want to take a little look at a Darcozzi Paladin as potential multiclass option? I mean from a role playing perspective? Paladin/Cipher is a nice combo in general anyway - but on top the favorite dispositions for Darcozzis are clever and passionate... I mean... Also Rapier and Dagger are kind of the classic Darcozzi weapons (besides Rapier + Buckler I guess). Flashy Vaillant fencer and all. Adds sturdyness, support, healing and very nice accuracy with Ring of Focused Flames + your Eternal Flames ability (the lash of it applies to direct damage spells, too). Rest: I personally don't like Ascendant too much. It forces you (kind of) to act in phases: loading phase and casting phase. That detrimental to versatility as I like it. An advantage for more weapon-heavy approaches is that its Soul Whip's dmg bonus doesn't turn off when focus is full Asis the case with other ciphers - but instead it gets even stronger. So one could use the Ascendant as weapon dmg booster only - but that's weird somehow and also a Soulblade would still do way better than that. I also don't like Tactician too much, especially with Ciphers. First of all I'm not a big fan of the Fighter unless it's a tank or at least tank-ish. Second of all it adds so much micro in a party setup (for solo it's great). Third issue: a Cipher gains very little from becoming Brilliant. Classes like Wizard, Priest and Druid profit the most from multiclassing with Tactician imo. Cheers!1 point

They can't because as above how the proportions resolve separately look awful if you're claiming Africa will starve when the deal ends. Knowing Turkish media somewhat they've almost certainly got their figures from a Research Institute/ Think Tank that has- absolutely deliberately- fudged them rather than done it themselves. The contribution resolves to ~94% Russian, 6% Ukrainian ie for a country that got half its grain from the two 47% of its total would be Russian on average, 3% Ukrainian. It's more for some, (Egypt, Kenya, Libya) but a lot lot less for most others. Indeed, Russia exported more grain to Africa specifically than Ukraine's total exports to everyone full stop. It's basically the same reason the EU aggregated their grain deal figures to developed: developing, it looks a lot better than 93:7 as it would be for RoW: Africa and there are no awkward questions about why Spain with 50 million people buys considerably more Ukrainian grain than Africa's 1 billion does... (There are a few issues such as not being able to directly compare like to like, now- the closest being the Al Jazeera article linked in the previous post which is a year old. Can't see any way they'd be enough to alter things significantly though)1 point

I found Rogue One enjoyable, at least I can rewatch it. Not really the case for the sequel trilogy that much, would say TFA was the better of the 3, Rise of Skywalker is just a mess I found. Still waiting for the Chewbacca series, all in Shyriiwook1 point

Oh man, things went sideways fast for me. I think I'm going to survive, but don't get too comfortable, folks. Also, I'm a bit bummed you can only recruit 16 mercs. I thought the cap would be 3 squads, but it's a bit short of that. Might be time to cut some contracts short (Omryn is already gone) and pick up some of the gold mercs.0 points

Finished first three of the “Otherworld” cameo areas in Tales of Arise and defeated their bosses. The Spirit Forest from Tales of Symphonia really resembles the look in the original game. Unfortunately I can’t remember the Oracle Snowcap from Tales of the Abyss area at all It should be somwhere close to the end of the game, but my memory is failing on this one. The first area was from Tales of Destiny. Still waiting for the game to get full english fantranslation for DC version, to play it for the first time. So I have no clue where from the Caverns of Fate are as well0 points

arueshalae is the worst kinda anime cliché, but she is highly effective as an archer who covers all your rogue needs. also, if you are struggling to deal with the stat bloat of foes, particular boss foes, the succubus is considerable undervalued and rare built to take advantage o' her most useful ability: hunter's bond. am advising demons o' magic is the category o' ranger foe you wanna keep maxed at every opportunity, and am gonna discourage multiclassing 'cause you want to max the ranger's bond as well as your access to the instant enemy spell. instant enemy transforms your hunter's bond so that it is effective against any foe; this is invaluable. with instant enemy + hunter's bond, the entire party is gonna get a considerable ab boost from arue's hunter's bond, which is also why am suggesting taking the abundant casting mythic. furthermore, the succubus is gonna have incredible initiative due to being a high dex build. improved initiative and mythic improved initiative is worthy considerations. being able to act first is a serious overlooked benefit although such will be more noticeable in tb. other than boss battles, the demon tart is predictable gonna be able to remove one or even two foes from an encounter almost as soon as combat begins. aside, being high dex means it is serious worth considering a crossbow build. am so not saying crossbows is better than longbows for the demon, but there is interesting crossbows in the game and with a full dex build you won't be sacrificing much by avoiding enlarge person, legendary proportions and the like. it is understatement to say am not a fan o' arueshalae from a writing pov, but there is no question she is effective. proof you don't need an animal companion to be useful. HA! Good Fun!0 points

I was vocally negative about it from episode 1. I actually got the whole family to watch it and was excited, as the books were a big part of my teenage years. They were all smart and wandered off after the first episode. I kept watching, mostly because I was re-reading the books and it was somewhat interesting to compare them. They basically gave it the CW treatment. But yeah, I'm usually not vocally negative about stuff because I rarely watch stuff I don't like long enough to bother speaking on it.0 points
